This is probably the best Quest location in the valley, as far as I'm concerned. This is the second time I've had bloodwork done here and the staff I've worked with are so kind, with a great level of attention to detail. As a nurse, I know what to look for and appreciate when you can tell someone actually cares about their work. I can't remember who helped me last time (though I think she was in the first cubby on the right, sometime last year), but I was having around 20 vials of blood drawn including some very specialized labs, & she took her time ensuring she had all the right tubes for the right labs, as well as enough of them. She also found a billing error in my chart, which she facilitated the correction of. As far as I know, she did not have to do that; it was above and beyond. Today I had my blood drawn by Jamus (I think that's what his name tag said, I'm sorry if I misremembered!) and he got more than he bargained for when he asked me how my weekend was and my response was "rough." But instead of shying away from what could've been an awkward conversation, we had a laugh, and he asked me what happened. He was very sweet to listen & sympathize with me, especially as a fellow pet parent. He didn't have to do that either! He was also very gentle with the blood draw & let me know before I left how long the labs were expected to take to process. This location is also not overly crowded, and they do have a parking structure, though they unfortunately don't validate. I was able to find street parking today but I don't remember it being as expensive as the parking for the Quest locations in Burbank near the hospital. If you don't know how to work with small veins, say it upfront! Your attempts leave me with bruises on my arms for a week. Today my blood was drawn on the third try! Only on the third attempt--after I asked--you called a colleague. And the first time you used a regular needle instead of a butterfly! "Oh, you have very small veins." You didn't notice that beforehand??? You couldn't use a butterfly needle right away???? Or better yet, call another nurse!! Thanks for the three bruises on my arms! This used to be my favorite Quest location. The nurse was a woman around 60 years old; I don't know her name. I asked multiple times if they collected my blood for a lipid panel and Hep B titer because I noticed they only drew two vials and and I was there to get a lot of bloodwork done. Not only was the whole process extremely rushed but the lady assured me that she got what I needed multiple times. I go to my doctors and, you guessed it, they didn't get most of the things I need even though they had the orders and verbally confirmed they had drawn it. I noticed this location doesn't have the highest reviews but truly, my experience there was great! The staff at Quest are all kind. Even on the last hour of the day. When we walked in, we didn't have an appt so we did the "walk-in" appointment and there was only 1 other person in the waiting room. We only had to wait 20 min and the waiting room was quiet. I guess this would depend on the day but it was really peaceful in the waiting room. It did say there were 5 people coming in for the next hour but I still hoped to be seen soon. I got lucky and I was seen almost 20 minutes within getting there and the staff was so kind to prepare me for what I need to do at home as far as my appointment went. I had my blood drawn by the most patient person and he was even making some jokes to keep me relaxed and calm while this process was happening. I had to get my blood drawn a few times and he was by far, the best. It was little to no pain and it was quick. The office wasn't the more organized but I noticed this is common among medical workplaces. It shouldn't be... but I guess it is. The appointment was quick and like I said, for the end of the day it was surprising to see. I was so happy to have visited this specific location. I would go back, and I would recommend especially if there aren't a lot of people on the walk-in list. I guess the waiting room being empty is a good sign! read more

There is a reason why this horrible location has the worst rating of all quest labs. The staff working there are extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I waited an hour and 42 minutes is a walk-in. I was the third person in line. The 4th person (after me) left after one hour, but I stuck it out another 42 minutes because at check-in it said wait would be 30 to 60 minutes, plus meeting longer which I understand but there is no excuse not to call in one single person of the four people waiting in an hour and 42 minutes. If you're going to treat your customers that way then you should change your check-in computer to say wait time is an hour to an hour and 30 minutes, not 30 to 60 minutes. And then there was a gentleman who kept opening the door every 15 minutes saying "sorry all, thank you for your patience", with the most insincere tone. Total fake person! At 55 minutes I looked and there were only three names on the waiting board and three people in the lobby at one hour and 30 minutes when I left there were only two people in lobby. Again, no excuse. If you don't want to take walk-ins after one hour and 40 minutes then don't allow them to check in. Get it together! Also, the waiting area lobby was filthy. Clean the floors and chairs! read more

Very kind staff, unfortunately the system they have is horrendous. If you want to drop off a 24 hour test that needs to be turned in the next morning, don't plan to be seen at all. I received my 24 hours test on a Tuesday, was told to drop it off 8 am the next day. I get there and they tell me I have to be put on the wait list to be seen. To just drop off my sample and sign a piece of paper! It would be at least a five hour wait and I may not even be seen. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Writing this because I was nervous to come to this location because of the reviews but it was so smooth and seamless! I had a referral for a blood test through my doctor and made an appointment online but I was worried it might take a long time. From check in to leaving the appointment, I was there for about 15-20mins! Waited for maybe 3 minutes before being called back, the employee was super nice and chatted with me during the blood draw to keep my mind off of it, even though I didn't ask for that. I went to quest diagnostics for the first time and will never go to this location again. Being my first time I didn't know that pressing a button saying I'm here would check me into the lobby. As I was still in the elevator I guess my name was called while I wasn't in the lobby. So I walked into Quest and waited to see if my name would pop up in 'checked in' but it wasn't. So I knocked on the door and Celia said that they had probably already called my name and the guy next to her says he called me and I explained that I was stuck in the elevator and didn't know the 'I'm here' button would make me next and they said I would be called next and I exclaimed "f*****g s**t" and took a seat to wait to be called next. As I was waited other names were being called so I knocked and asked why others were being called when I was told that my name would be called next and Celia bent down to get in my face and said to wait my turn in a bad tone of voice. Everyone in the waiting room stared in disbelief and I immediately messaged my doctor the situation and he told me to get names and report it. I decided to wait and get the blood draw and when I asked to speak to a manager unfortunately they brought out Celia and I stated to her that my exclamation was at being late and not towards her and she kept stating that it was because of my attitude that she was returning the same attitude and I told her that I apologize for my tone of voice but that I don't think as a person in the medical field she should speak to someone like that and she kept saying that it was because of how I was even though I explained the entire situation. She walked off and I had started crying and the phlebotomist Sarkis was pretending to ignore me and I asked for a tissue to wipe my tears and he ignored me as I continued to cry and I asked again and he said he didn't know what I meant and that he only had paper towels. It seemed like they were best friends and had decided that I was the bad guy because when my husband asked why he didn't give me a tissue or respond when I first asked he told him to leave and call or review whatever I want. I made an appointment ahead of time and found the iPad check in to be simple and easy. I only waited for a few minutes before I was called in. The phlebotomist who did my blood draw was caring and conversational and really put me at ease. I have tiny veins and usually have a hard time with blood draws, and he was able to get my vein in the first poke (I did hydrate A LOT ahead of time which helped). I would recommend this location for for the excellent phlebotomist. read more

I'm giving this place and location a 5 stars solely because of our phlebotomist, Laura. She is kind, intelligent, and very professional. Her bed side manner is incredible and when you are in this environment that is a must. The overall process was decent. If you have an appointment and you are able to check yourself in it's pretty easy. If you are disabled or have questions it could pose to be difficult as there is no front desk. If you were elderly or had difficulty with technology it could also be tricky. I mean zero personnel to answer questions. Otherwise, it's decent. Laura however, a saving grace. I hope employees get recognized when their performance is above and beyond. Anywhere would be lucky to have her. read more

I skipped out of this office today, with a big smile on my face. I have tiny veins and for all of my adult life (I'm 68), many (but not all) phlebotomists have struggled to draw my blood, poking and digging in my arm with their needles. This morning, I expected the same. But this morning, I landed in Lynette's chair. I explained my tiny veins. She examined both arms, guiding me through a few exercises to pump up a vein. She gets the needle and on her first try, I feel a tiny pinch... and damn... she's got a vein!!!!!!! FIRST TRY. No poking, no digging. If you have tiny veins or hard to find veins, then you will understand how remarkable my experience was this morning. Thank you Lynette!! BTW, I had an appointment and I was called in right at my appointment time. I will definitely go back to Quest's NoHo office. read more

They sent me home with the wrong vials to test so when I came back to drop them off I was told that I needed to redo the testing. This is making it so my Dr will not have the results by my next visit. The staff was not great. They were ignorant around how to have great customer service especially medical industry customer service. Careful with this place. The staff are very nice, but the past three times I've come here to draw blood this year, I've had some kind of damage or mistake. Having to draw from more than one vein multiple times, one time the phlebotomist wasn't paying attention as she took the first one out from having to redo it, and all this blood came out; today I think they had a trainee and I ended up with a collapsed vein on one side, had to redraw on the other arm. Again the staff are kind, and I appreciate how they try to get you in if you're walk-in. That happened to me even though I do my best to make appointments. I've never had this much repeated damage from any other blood draw site or experience though. It's too bad since it's the closest location to my house, but as someone who needs regular bloodwork, I'm going to have to find a new way of getting my tests done. read more

So here is the deal: I have some chronic and terminal illnesses which make my quality of life quite poor and consequentially everyday is very difficult. You read that correctly: 'illnesses', plural. I'm not telling you this for pity but to notify you that this means I am a PRO with doctors, specialists, ultrasounds, tests, and of course the basic building block: blood work. I feel like my arm is CONSTANTLY getting stabbed with my deep-red blood filling up test tubes. I could do this in my sleep, at this point. The two main labs with a monopoly on blood work in the LA area are Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics. Neither are quite that great but Quest takes the first-place trophy for crappy labs (I've been to a few locations). Does this Quest Diagnostics location fit the mold? Let's see... This location of Quest Diagnostics holds real estate in the Studio City/Sherman Oaks border in the Studio City Medical Building near the major intersection of Riverside/Whitsett. This is not to be confused with the medical building a building over (with the old Naimie's between) which ALSO houses a Quest lab! Parking is street-side unless you want to fork out some dough for the parking garage. If you are thrifty like me; I suggest the residential streets as Riverside fills up with the apartment-dwellers, quickly. Immediately upon walking up to the building, I was very deterred to smell a huge whiff of rank cigarette smoke. The entire entry way smelled like when ash trays used to be right in front of buildings back in the day. It was so nasty and baffled me that this was at a medical building. How?! Shaking my head, I entered the lobby which is sort of dark and outdated but normal enough with a pharmacy/convenience store on the left and elevators straight ahead. Quest is located on the fifth floor with a medium sized, clean lobby but featuring only about 5 chairs spread out with football fields between them for Covid (I'm exaggerating). The odd thing at this Quest location is that there is no front reception desk which made me uncomfortable. But they do feature two self check-in kiosks. A little pro tip: you are delusional if you think you will be in-and-out at a Quest without making an appointment ahead of time online and you might not even be seen at all. Make an appointment! Also, afternoons are much more open than the mornings so go later if you want to be done quicker. Luckily, I didn't wait long after my appointment time and was called in by Johanna P. Johanna massacred my name which is typical but she didn't apologize or say it the right way when I corrected her. Rude. I was taken into the first room on the left where she took my lap request print-out from the doctor. I warned her that others have said my veins "turn" so it might be difficult. Well, ladies and gents Johanna got it on the first try but NOT because she is an expert; but because she is some sort of sadist vampire. As I've said, I get blood work at least once a month and I also have a boat load of tattoos on my body so I am nowhere near afraid of needles or pain. This is the first time it hurt and it hurt bad! She tried to kill my vein! It instantly swelled up and turned blue which has NEVER happened and it still appears that way 6 days later! Either Johanna is new to this or just not very good at her job but this is NOT normal. I had to ice my arm when I got home! Not cool, Johanna! One of the things I DO like about Quest is the myquest portal on their website where you can keep track of your previous tests and are alerted when the new results are posted. The results are easy-to-read and understand in terms of numbers and whether you are off the chart or negative/positive. This Quest location gets points for a clean lab (many of the other locations are more run down than a gas station) and for quickly taking care of me around my appointed time. But the cigarette smoke in the entryway of the building and Johanna P killing my arm takes those points right back. Sadly, all Quest locations are 'crappy' so you will only have a good experience if you get lucky. However, I recommend this location over the other one a building over (that one is worse in terms of cleanliness and scheduling but better in terms of the blood draw - no bruises there!). read more

Despite the mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. For me, blood drawing is really anxiety-provoking since my veins are small and hard to find. That is why prior to getting my blood drawn I made some research where the phlebotomists are good, that is why I chose this location (since I've read a recent review from a person with the same case/situation) and she said that Joanna is good. So, I was thinking to make a request to have her for my blood drawing. Good thing, she was the one I got assigned to. I had my blood drawn on Dec. 29, 2023. So eventhough this review has been long overdue, I decided to share this since it might be helpful for some people who have the same issue. Came in with an appointment and the staff let everyone know they were running behind. I appreciated that transparency and we all know lab work shouldn't be rushed. There were a few complainers in the lobby which is ridiculous because you should just make yourself available for lab work. Quit complaining. Also stop knocking on the doors to get attention as you may scare a tech with a needle in hand. Have respect! I was helped by Celia, who was gentle, kind and positive. My husband and I both have veins that are notoriously difficult to find, so getting blood drawn has always felt like a bit of a torture session -- until we met Sarkis. Now, we always ask for him specifically because with Sarkis, the experience is completely different. He's incredibly skilled, and every procedure is quick, smooth, and painless for both of us. Straight up evil company. They close at 4pm. I got first in line on stand by at 3:25pm after waiting for an hour as 4th person on stand bye at another Quest today that only had ONE person taking blood, and never moving in the line despite other stand by's going. I arrived here and saw 6 customers were being served at a time. I received no message saying 3:25 was "too late" for "the system" to accept stand by's. At 3:25 only 3-4 people were being served at a time but by 3:55 I was the last person left. ONLY THEN did staff come out and tell me "the system" could not draw my blood even though they were not closed yet. I was told I could make an appointment. I can actually only get this blood work order done in the next four days medically, or I have to wait another month. There is not a single quest in a 20 mile radius where I can make an appointment to get it done in time. If "the system" can't accept patients whose turn it is before the closing time listed, it needs to inform people, if the "system" can't do it the 6 people on staff need to take 1 second so that at least someone like me is not waiting for absolutely zero reason. read more

If I could give negative stars this place would receive them. This will be by far the most harsh review I have ever written on yelp. I am absolutely appalled at the customer service that I received from this facility and I have also filed a complaint with QTC and the Better Business Bureau. ** I had a 2:40 PM appointment to get bloodwork done for a veteran claim. I arrived at 2:30 and was taken back into the blood draw room right at 2:40. No problem so far. Upon sitting down the tech asked for my documents and order number. I explained to her that I did not receive an order number I showed her the email for the appointment but that's all I had. She looked at me and asked me how she was supposed to do her job if I didn't bring the appropriate documents. The Caddy and condescending demeanor she had was appalling. I apologize for not having what she needed and told her again that I was not given anything nor was I mailed any paperwork. She showed me on the screen by pointing up my name and a blank box that there was no order number and she could not do her job so I would need to leave and come back some other time.... she was talking to me with such a rude tone. I was beyond offended. I walked out called QTC they told me that they faxed over the order and that it should be in their computer system within 15 to 30 minutes. I waited another 30 minutes and came out waving her hands at me telling me nothing has come in when I'd already received confirmation that it was in their system! I then went outside and had a rep from QTC call them directly and he quickly came back onto the line with me and told me the lady who answered the phone was rude and disrespectful and hung up on him! I don't know who is running this office or who does training but these staff members are clearly not happy with their positions here and need to find a new line of work. My PCP sent me here to get blood tests for my annual check-up. It's so close to my home, and it's simple to make an appointment. I did it last week by calling their automated system. You need to show up at least 10 minutes before your appointment time to check in at the kiosk. It'll ask for your ID and insurance card, as it scans you in as your check-in time. You'll see your name on the screen that is on a monitor, and it shows you in the que. I highly suggest an appointment, instead of walking in. I got in at 11 am, and was out within 25 minutes. Easy peasy, and the nurse who drew my blood was very happy to see that I have good blood-drawing veins. Lol read more

I gave it 4 stars because the lab technicians that I had experiences with (Joanna & Umlesh) are great!! HOWEVER, they lack 1 star because NO ONE is there to help assist people who don't know how to use the self check in. I work in the healthcare field so of course I helped as many people as I could to check them in. Once I got inside, I noticed that the lab technicians had to do more work aside from drawing blood that really backs them up from doing what they are supposed to do. They have to enter all kinds of information in the system (something that a simple receptionist can do), scan orders, call doctor offices in case they cannot read the diagnosis on an order (and we all know how doctors write) and so much more! All this can be done by hiring a person who can make things run more smoothly and efficiently to make sure they do their job with ease. I would even offer to do all this but companies are now being too cheap to hire more help where its needed. This was all just an observation from my recent visit. Then, on my way out I even said out loud "does anyone else need help checking in before I leave?" . One older gentleman needed to reschedule his appt since he couldn't figure the check in system and now it was cancelled. I helped him reschedule one on my phone and he was so thankful. I have been coming to this Quest Diagnostics location for about 4 years now. Each time that I have come, the process to check in has been simple and straight forward, the wait has been reasonable and close to my appointment time, and the process of collecting a sample has been quick. However, I would say that the shining part of coming to this location is Tamiko. She is not only knowledgeable and efficient with collecting a sample, but she is kind and lovely to chat with. I am typically nervous around needles, but she has a wonderful manner that helps me feel at ease. read more
