The second time the younger asian girl took my blood and it hurt more than any other time I've ever gotten blood drawn. After she was done my bandaid was completely soaked with blood and my arm was in so much pain. I couldn't move it the rest of the day. Today my arm is completely bruised and in pain. When you need lab work done it's basically a lose - lose situation. It's either here or LabCorp and they both are 2 stars - so pick your poison. Quest is closer to me so off I went. "It can't be as bad as these yelpers say," I told myself - but let me tell you - Quest did not let me down! Thank god I read other reviews and mentally prepared myself for this experience because instead of being mad I just found it downright comical how horrendous this place is. I had made an appointment as several other Yelpers advised to avoid a long wait. There were only 2 other patients in the office when I arrived on time. I still had to wait for an hour. They had ONE nurse working there. ONE. She was doing all the paper work at the desk. Then leaving the desk to go into the exam room and draw blood, then returning to the desk to check in patients and file paperwork. So that's efficient. When it was finally my turn I went into the exam room and the door was wide open for everyone in the waiting area to watch while she drew my blood. I personally don't care but I imagine this could make some uncomfortable - but it gets better! Ooh this is my favorite part - I had to give a urine sample and she instructed me how to aim in the cup and clean my pee pee with a wet wipe in front of the rest of the people in the waiting area (which had filled to standing room only at this point). I asked where the bathroom was - and it's right there on the other side of the waiting room. Ok this is where it really gets good! After you do your thing - instead of having a drop off window in the bathroom to place your sample - you get to carry it through the waiting room! So there I was - fresh, warm urine in hand in front of a sold out crowd at Quest! Not one empty seat! I proudly marched across the center of the waiting area in front of the onlooking patients and into the exam room. I almost expected a standing ovation as I placed my cup down without a single spill. Maybe it was the amber hue of my piss and clear lack of hydration that kept the crowd from going wild. Oh - did I mention there was another patient getting her blood drawn in the exam room when I dropped off my pee? Now that's what I call privacy! I know. There's a lot to unpack here. There's so many things wrong with this place it's overwhelming. Enjoy the parking fee as well if you choose to use the garage. Bonus: I attached a picture of the extra wide chair for obese patients that was thoughtfully marooned across the room facing the other chairs to ensure maximum shame. read more

The most poorly-run, disorganized healthcare office I've been to. They truly do not care about appointments or customer service. They clearly do not even want to answer patient questions, as they literally steer clear of the front window (they only place you can see inside the office or try to speak with a human). Always short-staffed so the phlebotomists are also having to juggle admin tasks like checking people in when they can't figure out the check-in kiosk. WITH an appointment, still waiting to be seen +30 mins. Room full of people waiting to be called in. My advice: try another location, though I hear Quest is just pretty bad all around. read more

If I had to use one word to describe my experience here it would be "efficient". Setting up an account and making an appointment online was easy. When I arrived the parking attendant ushered me to a nearby spot to park my motorcycle and told me what floor I needed. Once there, after waiting behind one person, I scanned my QR code into the kiosk. Not one minute later the technician, Noah, called me in to have my blood drawn. He was friendly and adept at drawing blood (4 vials). I was heading out of the garage about 15 minutes after I had arrived. I don't understand the bad reviews. Terrible. Had an appt at 3:15. Checked In On my phone at 3pm. Then got text to come up at 3:21. Went up and checked in again on their machine. My name didn't appear on the screen- so after waiting 20 min I asked them. And she said she called me a long time ago. I've been waiting now for 30 minutes and have not been called. My main reason for setting the appt was to avoid being in the waiting room. Do not go here. Not enough staff to help. No air circulating in the waiting room. And not enough chairs available for everyone waiting. Do not wait in your Car Like the appt says you can-because once you get up there they've already called your name and they removed it from the board. And you will not figure that out until you're sitting there for 20 minutes. There are no signs that says if your name is not on the board then you should try and flag someone down. This is a horrible location they need somebody at the front desk everybody needed help. And there's not enough staff. Ended up waiting 50 minutes after seeing everyone go in before me many times over. read more

Quest lab has become a dead lab. There is no one to answer calls, emails or at the front desk. Each visit is 2 hours of wait & service is rude if you get a person to see you. I would give it a zero rating if I could. They were understaffed and had a waiting room full of people with appointments. The walk-ins were told to go home because there was no way they would be seen today. My 16 year-old son came for lab work and was nervous. The Phlebotomist, Farzaneh Nassiri yelled at him for taking a photo of his arm at the end of the blood draw "erase it now! I said erase it! No photos allowed!". Silly me! I read all the bad reviews and still went to this lab. I thought it's just a routine lab work. How bad can it be? It's the closest to my house and I have no fear of needles. I'm a health care professional myself. Well, I had to go there twice, wait twice, have the blood drawn twice. They forgot to run all the lab tests that the Dr. had ordered originally. Did I get a simple apology? One word.... I'm sorry? NOPE! Instead I got an attitude and a bruised arm the second time around. It definitely seemed she punctured me extra hard on purpose. She was sniffling and didn't even bother to wear a mask when she drew the blood. Both times I did not see them clean the chair where blood is drawn. Have they had any OSHA bloodborn pathogen training? I scrubbed my own arms after leaving there. I encountered three employees in those two trips. No smiles and no customer service. The first phlebotomist ( Connie) was much better in her technique. I didn't bruise. But, the second one attacked me with the needle. The bottom line is that as I walked out of the building after a blood draw I looked down and saw my arm was dripping in blood. Soaked through cotton and streaming down my arm. Quest has also, confoundingly, laid off their admin teams so there is now no front desk and instead the people who are drawing blood (not so professionally if people leave with blood running down arms) are also now tasked with billing and running credit cards. Quest execs prob raking in more and using pandemic as excuse to overwork unqualified people and make the patients suffer. Cool. read more

What a scam. Never, ever go here even if your doctor sends in lab instructions. My daughter went on Tuesday to get blood drawn for a Wednesday appointment with her endocrinologist. She came with her insurance card and was told it was inactive, which was false. They then told her she had to self pay over $1500 to get the labs. Not knowing what to do, she did so. Her credit card did not have that limit so she had to use a debit card. Her insurance is active and for the last two days we have tried to email and call and are told they have no record of her. We even went to the site in Tarzana and the receptionist told my wife she could not help us. The bank confirms the money has been debited from her account and Quest has it. So Quest Diagnostics will get a lawyers letter on Monday demanding an immediate refund or will face a lawsuit for fraud. read more

No support when there is a problem - a cautionary tale about cutting staff and over-relying on technology. I have used this lab three times in 2021. In May and August it was a seamless experience: made an appointment on line, received a confirmation email, arrived at the lab and checked myself in by scanning the QR code included in the email, waited a few minutes in the waiting room (with few people in it), had my blood drawn and got my results online a few days later. However my latest experience in September 2021 was very negative. I made an online appointment for a privately purchased blood test. I arrived 10 minutes early and checked myself in. The waiting room was packed (so much for distancing) and there was no place to sit. They had a board showing approximate wait time for each patient: two minutes before my appointment time, the board showed that I had a 45 minute wait. There was no receptionist or manager to provide assistance. I inquired with one of the phlebotomists when she came to the door and was told there were a lot of people ahead of me. I thought patients were taken by appointment, not first-come first-serve. Obviously there was something wrong: either too many patients had been scheduled, or they were taking walk-ins ahead of the appointments, or they were understaffed. The overcrowded waiting room was unsafe and uncomfortable. I couldn't wait and left. I just wasted my time. Since they rely on technology so much, why don't they text patients when the lab is running 45-minute late, to offer them the opportunity to reschedule without wasting time getting to the lab? I attempted to call Customer Service, but there was no way to get through after navigating a lengthy menu. I emailed Customer Service and received a canned response stating :"Based on keywords in your request it appears that your need is around appointment scheduling." (sic) - AI gone awry! I'm really surprised by the bad reviews, I was terrified to go here but ended up having a GREAT experience. I was having trouble making an appointment online that fit my needs so I decided to just walk in. I was prepared to wait for an hour and had a book with me for that purpose. I was shocked when they called me in 30 seconds after I signed in. The ladies at the front desk were sweet and said it was perfectly fine I didn't have an appointment. I was even more surprised when the second I sat in the examining room the phlebotomist came right in and started the process. (Usually in my experience once you're finally in the doctors room, you still have to sit there for 15 min.) She found my vein right away and got the needle in totally painlessly (also shocking, usually they have trouble finding my veins.) She was great and had everything done in a couple minutes. And I was on my way... So maybe it was a random thing that everything went so seamlessly, but there no negative parts to the whole thing. The only reason I'm decking a star isn't for this particular location, but quest labs in general has a TERRIBLE phone and online appointment booking situation. You can't talk to an actual person no matter what, only automated. I wasn't just trying to make an appointment, I needed to know whether I needed to fast or not, and how long the wait time is for an appointment. None of this info is on their website or phone system, so I had to physically go into a lab to ask them these questions, which was hugely annoying. read more

Every single time I have come here for YEARS (because I have to...my dr office is in the building), it's the same situation: total rudeness, no greeting, no nothing. This might be the best Quest lab I have ever been to and I have been to a lot over the years. First off the customer service is excellent. The girls that work that are friendly, hard working and make their goal to get you in and out of there as fast as possible with as little wait time as possible. I have been to so many other places that dilly dally and take forever bringing people back, helping me on their own time schedule, not the patients. These girls don't mess around. They are fast, efficient and know how to get the job done without a room full of people waiting there all day. I have gone there twice with no appointment and it's no big deal. The first time I didn't wait at all and today I waited 10-15 with a room full of people. Lastly sometimes people have a hard time finding my blood, they stick me a few times.
