We have taken my kids to pico location multiple times , so I assumed that this Tarzana location would be just as good but oh boy was I wrong. We have been here, probably three times and they have managed to misdiagnose my children every time. Last night I took my daughter there with very clear symptoms of strep throat. I'm not even a pediatrician and I could tell that she has strep throat (I have an eight-year-old and a four-year-old so I have seen it all). I tell the doctor to look inside her throat and he doesn't see anything. I was shocked because my daughter very much had white patches throughout and red and swollen throat, , so I had to actually guide him to be able to look again and see them. He made very minimal effort to ask any questions and right away said it's probably a vital flu so there's nothing to do and just go home. I told him no I do think my daughter has strep throat and I do want you to do a test swap for her, back-and-forth, he agrees to do it after making the remark that there's no reason for it . It gets even worse with their nurse, who absolutely had no idea what she was doing, and almost tore my daughter's throat out. She kept telling me in a very firm way to hold my daughter down, which was even freaking her out more, she didn't even try to say hi to her or just ask her to open her mouth. It was insane to me that she was a pediatric nurse. Then they come back and of course they said that they weren't able to get an accurate swap (because obviously she had no idea what she was doing), at that point of course I said no thank you I will take her to her primary physician. Of course that night my daughter had a very high fever. We did our best in manage until this morning where she saw her amazing pediatrician who swap her with no problem. And of course, the results for strep throat came out POSITIVE. It's absolutely mind blowing how much they did not care to investigate and do further testing and the doctor had absolutely no idea what the symptoms of a strep throat would be. And also on top of all the nurse was horrific. I would really recommend for you to go to the pico location if you have to, but avoid this location at all cost because you will walk out with not an accurate result anyway!

Exam room. Love the ocean quote.

Dr. Walker was awesome! He was super honest and made us feel comfortable about my son's treatment plan.

They see the walk-ins before their patients who actually made appointments. Makes no sense at all.

There was plenty of it, which is rare compared to other Labcorp locations where parking is usually paid and a hassle. The office is small and was pretty full when I arrived, but even with an appointment, I was called back within just a few minutes. Bernice was handling everything during my visit, and she was amazing. The waiting room had several patients asking questions and feeling impatient, but she stayed calm, organized, and efficient the entire time while keeping things moving. She mentioned it's usually a two-person team, but they were short on supplies that day, so she was holding things down on her own, which made it even more impressive. When it was my turn, she was professional and kind. I usually have very difficult veins and often get poked multiple times, but she got it on the first try. Overall, top-tier service. I would definitely recommend this location. Just be patient if it's busy - they're working hard and doing their best.

I arrived at the office without an appointment and there was no one waiting. The office is very small with just a few chairs, and a small tea/coffee station. I was taken in immediately. Very often, my veins are difficult to work with. During the draw, the phlebotomist was Jose. He was able to get the draw on the first try and I did not have type of bruising or issues afterward. I had to return a couple of days later for a test that must be done early in morning. Upon arrival, there were a few people ahead of me and it was standing room only. There was only one person working and she was with a patient in the back, so it took some time to check in. After checking in, another employee arrived and those in the waiting room were helped. The phlebotomist that I had for the second test was Joanna, aka JoJo. She was very personable and was able to get the draw on the first try. I enjoyed speaking with her and she made the appointment comfortable. I had no issues with bruising after the test. The office is on the second floor of a medical building. The building has paid parking, but I always park on the street. There is metered parking and free street parking available within easy walking distance of the building.
