My kids' pediatrician retired and we had to fine a new one on pretty short notice. After much searching around and asking other parents, I stumbled upon Boulevard Pediatrics. I called the office to make an appointment and was told that before they could make an appointment, we had to fill out and submit registration paperwork and request records from our old doctor's office. This did not bother me, as it has bothered other yelpers, because I appreciated the fact that they wanted to have my kids' records and medical history before seeing them. Also, I liked that I did not have to do it when I got there, since I would be with my very busy 1.5 year old.
Once I filled out and submitted the paperwork, I was able to make an appointment for the following week. Tammy, who I assume is their office manager, was very accommodating and worked with me to fit me in for an appointment. I requested that my kids see Dr. Liddy, who apparently has a fairly full patient load. Nevertheless, Tammy was able to fit us in with Dr. Liddy anyway.
I took my son for his 15 month check up here yesterday and was very impressed with the office itself. It is very modern, has lots of clean fun toys for the kids, and the exam rooms are very comfortable. They have computers in each room where the doctor can input their notes, pull up exact growth chart information, etc.
The nurses are very efficient but not very friendly. We were taken to the exam room and my sons head, weight and height were measured right away. This lady knew what she was doing and was able to get it done quickly, but she wasn't really one for small talk. Then we had to wait about 30 minutes for Dr. Liddy to come and see us. I wasn't too upset about the wait since this was a last minute appointment and when she finally came she was pretty apologetic for the wait.
Dr. Liddy is great. She is very good with kids and was able to make my little toddler feel comfortable. She asked a ton of questions about his development and did a thorough check up. She didn't seem rushed at all and took her time to get to know me and son. She answered all of my questions and I left the appointment feeling very good about our new pediatrician.
The only thing that kind of bothered me was the stress they put on "walk-in hours." Basically, it seems like if you have a sick kid and need an emergency appointment, you have to just show up to their designated walk-in hours (8-9am and 4:30-5:30, I think) and wait for a doctor to see you. I'm hoping that they provide some flexibility with this though.
Note, parking is expensive! We were there for about 1 hour and the parking was $9. But they take cash, check and credit card. read more
