From his precise diagnosis and friendly bedside manner to his organized, clean office which will always accommodate all your child's needs, he is in the top-tier. For me the most important thing is that I have yet to ever ask for an appointment and not be offered same day office visit! When I say that Dr. Danny is the best, I mean he is THE BEST. As a parent that runs on the anxious side, I needed a pediatrician that would take my concerns seriously but also let me know when to worry, and more importantly, when to not worry. Dr. Danny is kind, compassionate, smart, clear, and honest. It's easy to trust him. Also -- for those of you saying he's quick -- he's quick because he's busy, and he's busy because he's popular, and he's popular because he's GOOD. And he has always, always slowed down if I had questions that I needed answers to. We've recently gone through some health concerns with my daughter and I have been utterly floored at the level of attention and care that he has given to my child and to me. I already knew this, but it has really underlined for me that he manages his time well, and that he gives time to those who need it, when they need it. He spends lots of time and careful attention -- not to mention research and check-ins with his peers -- on patients when they truly need it. And when they don't, you can take comfort in knowing you have a healthy kid. Finally, I just also want to note that all of the other doctors there are great, and the office staff is equally wonderful. I always get my questions answered, my requests for things like medical records are always filled quickly, and they always somehow manage to fit us in for sick appointments, even during really busy sick seasons. I could not be more impressed by Dr Danny. All 3 of my kids see Danny and my very healthy daughter recently experienced some strange symptoms. Danny has been more than instrumental in making my daughter's new found autoimmune disease something manageable. Not only has he been above and beyond hands on, he has all the connections, all the right doctors and gets the job done immediately! He has orchestrated blood tests, injections, and gotten me answers from doctors I would have to wait months to see. In non emergency situations Danny is not an alarmist, doesn't push antibiotics and tells it like it is. He is kind, warm and the kids adore him. To have this kind of hands on care, connections to the best Drs in LA and someone who makes things happen immediately is worth every penny! This office charges annual fees. This particular Dr charges first child $500 and every child after is an additional $250. The money comes from out of pocket. I've been coming here for 3.5 years and saddened I will have to change pediatrician. Their annual fees does not makes sense. They're just trying to scam us for more money. I was so lucky to have found Dr. Danny 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have 2 kids now (a 5 year old and a 12 month old) and I couldn't be happier with the care I receive from both Dr. Danny and the Balboa Pediatrics office. Whenever I have a sick kid, a pediatric related question, a lactation issue, a form that needs to be filled out, or questions about my bill (which is almost never because their billing department is so accurate with their billing codes and charges) I alway get a prompt, accurate, and thorough response. No other doctor's office I know of has the services this office has. His front office staff are also always so kind and helpful. I never wait on hold for extended periods of time and they always give me prompt appointment times. My 12 month old was recently ill with a viral bug that caused high fevers for 3 days. I brought him in the day his symptoms started. He was promptly seen by Dr. Miriam Chan (who is also absolutely amazing) and a swab of his nose was obtained. An hour later I got the results, which were negative for the most commonly known viral illness - i.e.: COVID, RSV, influenza, and I think like 15 other viral strains. His physical exam was also unremarkable for any other potential bacterial/inflammatory issues. When his symptoms changed slightly about 12 hours later, I called the office again and they were so gracious to squeeze me in again for another sick visit. Dr. Danny examined him and took another swab. I received his results an hour later, which were again negative. Dr. Danny was so patient with both me (an anxious, crying mom with a sick, fussy baby) and my baby. He and his advise nurses (shout out to Allison who is absolutely amazing) advised me on how to take care of him and quelled all of my concerns. I am so grateful for him and the entire practice. He is gentle, patient, thorough, incredibly knowledgeable, and kind. He truly cares about his patients and their families. Look no further as far as a pediatrician goes!! BTW - He does have an annual fee, which is almost nothing compared to the services he and his office provides. It's like having a concierge doctor without paying the concierge fee and when you have a sick kid those services are worth their weight in gold! read more

Had my daughters first visit here today - lovely waiting room with very friendly reception staff. Appreciated that his staff took time to explain to me how to get to clinic from the freeway and what parking options were. They brought us back very quickly after checkin (almost no waiting), the clinic seems to run very smoothly and efficiently. Way too aggressive with billing, and really unfair too. I've never met the doctor - let me say that up front -- but I used his office for covid testing for my daughter during the pandemic. We had several tests there -- and all these tests were covered by insurance -- until Bruckner's office suddenly switched providers and did not tell me. They've been sending me a bill for $85.00 since 2021. Not ok. I had conversations with the office manager that went nowhere. You need to tell people upfront whether you're covered. Dr. Danny is honestly the best doctor that I have ever met. He is very caring and so educated. He has been my son's doctor since he was 1 hour old. Dr.Danny came in and took my baby for his tests and called me exactly 20 min later with the results. He goes out of his way to call you with results instead of just having someone from the office do it and makes himself available. His office is great and I also love their lactation consultant who is always there to help with any issues with breastfeeding. She spent an hour with me and my son assisting us through the whole process. I probably would not have ended up breastfeeding if it wasnt for her help. My baby was very fussy and Dr. D was so amazing he tested my son and it turned out he was a bit sensitive to dairy and soy and all I had to do was cut that out of my diet. Other doctors are just not caring like that and many mothers I know were just told not to breastfeed who had similar issues. He has been so amazing and my husband and I trust him so much that we put our baby on his own insurance plan just so he can continue seeing Dr. D. His office is very nice and the staff is actually friendly which is not so common at doctors offices. This is the only place I trust to bring my child. read more

As a nurse, I worked along side Dr. Danny for several years as he completed his residency at CHLA. He was hands down one of the best residents I've ever seen come through those doors. As he was completing his residency and getting ready to go into practice at Balboa Pediatrics, I was pregnant with my son. I told him, "My son will be one of your first patients!" And in fact, he was. I had a home birth in 2011 and at the 24 hour visit, much to my surprise, Dr. Danny made time in his busy schedule to make a house call. I've been debating whether or not to take time to write a review about Dr. Danny and Balboa Pediatrics, but after thinking about it, I realized that our experience is important to share with new/expecting parents so that they can make an informed decision about their child's medical care. There were red flags with Balboa Pediatrics from the beginning. I called a few times and left messages with reception to schedule a meet and greet call about a month or two before our son was born. They assured me that this would be scheduled, but it never was. Our son was unexpectedly born 5 weeks early, and we decided to just see Dr. Danny because we read good reviews online and we figured that maybe he never called us back because he was so busy seeing as he is a popular doctor. While our son was in the NICU we called his office and continued to have trouble scheduling an appointment, eventually the hospital arranged everything.  Our experience with Dr. Danny was very disappointing. Every appointment is rushed. I think all of our appointments were about 5-10 minutes at most. Any time we asked questions, Dr. Danny would either give really quick explanations or he would tell us not to worry about it. Our son was having some feeding/ intense crying episodes and we were really concerned because of how distressed he was, and Dr. Danny just chalked it up to "colic" and didn't take a whole lot of time to explore this issue further. We ended up pursuing a feeding assessment on our own with an OT and it turns out we just needed to change bottles. This was never discussed as an option with Dr. Danny. I will give him credit for ordering a stool test though. At every appointment, Dr. Danny would nearly be out the door when he asked if we had any questions. The rushed dynamic doesn't foster a space to openly share concerns. The biggest red flag  was that during either our first or second appointment with him following our son's NICU admission, he kept checking his cell phone. I've heard from a friend, who also used to see him, that this is common practice for him to be checking his cell phone during appointments. It feels like he isn't fully present during appointments as it is, and it's really frustrating to see someone checking their cell phone when they're supposed to be focusing completely on your child.  While he is a friendly guy, he has a really bad habit of making it seem like he temporarily forgot information about our child. He would ask the same thing about our son's birth history at every appointment and then he would be like "oh that's right" as if he all of the sudden remembered. I'm not expecting him to remember everything about our child, but if you're going to ask the same thing every time, just put a 2 sentence blurb on his chart and read it before you enter the room. With that being said, you truly feel like a number at this practice. I think that Dr. Danny would be an appropriate doctor for maybe a teenager who wants to get in and out of an appointment as fast as possible.  At our son's 4 month appointment, I noted concerns about flatness on our son's head and again, we were told by Dr. Danny to not worry about it. Turns out after seeing our new pediatrician at a different practice for his 6 month appointment, he needs a helmet and we were promptly referred for one. I am so grateful we changed doctors because this is something that could have affected our son the rest of his life and Dr. Danny did not highlight it as an issue which is worrying. Reception is pretty unorganized and some of them come across as being irritated with their role. One time I scheduled a follow up appointment in person, but when the appointment came around I called the office to confirm it because I never received a confirmation, and they said nothing was scheduled. There was one really lovely receptionist though, but I can't remember her name.  On a positive note they have an excellent lactation consultant, Binky. I saw her numerous times and she was incredibly helpful and resolved my breastfeeding problems. I wish I would have trusted my gut from the beginning and chosen another practice/doctor, but at least we changed before it was too late. read more

They do not inform you of there supposed fees. We have a ppo plan and were told we could go see any pediatrician. Upon making an appointment to go see Daniel Bruckner, we were never told there will be an extra $750 yearly fee for the clinic. We had to haul 2 small kids to the office and then was informed of this supposed extra fee. Another patient of this clinic told us that you have to go negotiate with the doc himself to waive the yearly fee. I guess they have a scam going on on this clinic , whereby whoever is dumb enough to be fooled to pay the yearly fee, pays the fee. So disappointing to waste our time and be lied to and fooled by this kind of practice. A disgrace to the medical field. read more

My wife and I felt that he treated our sons like his own specially when they are sick. Unfortunately for us, we moved too far from his office. There's a reason Dr. Danny has nothing but 5 stars, and that's because they don't offer the ability to give him 10. There's no one else I would trust both my kids with. He's attentive, available, knowledgeable and caring. My kids absolutely love him and even look forward to seeing him...I'll enjoy it while it last. Furthermore, with a young family, I find it crucial to also have a younger Pediatrician so that my kids can grow with him and him with them. He always has an answer to any question or concern and even makes himself available after business hours if there is an emergency. There aren't enough good things I can say about Dr. Danny, so rather than dragging this out, I'll let his rating speak for themselves. If you're looking for a young, reputable, knowledgeable, caring, transparent, highly rated Pediatrician, save yourself some time and look no further. read more

We LOVE Dr. Danny, He's been our 10 month olds pediatrician while baby was still in utero. First off he comes from a family line of pediatricians so he was already bred to be one... it runs in his blood. His office at Balboa Pediatrics is stunning, clean and VERY kid friendly. They've made it a great environment and took all the clinical aesthetics of a typical MD office out of the equation. They have all the state of the art equiptment in house along with the friendliest staff you can imagine; which includes an in-house Lactation Consultant. I never met with her but I hear she's the City's best of the best. The nurses are incredible, knowledgable, and very fast with administering shots. Dr. Danny has always been right on time for appointments. He's very thorough with checkups and always explains what he's examining for. He takes the time to give you personal care and answer any questions you have. Our kid LOVES him. It feels that he always works with you rather than telling you how things need to be. He's makes himself VERY available which leaves no doubt in my mind that our son is getting the best care possible. Can't recommend this Dr. enough. LOVE HIM read more

We love Dr. Danny, and so do my kids. When I was a new mom, he offered to come to my house, after I freaked about taking a newborn to an office setting. (I sucked it up and went to him.) He's so comforting and friendly, and always knows the answers to your questions. And when we stumped him once (my baby had a weird rash), he walked us to another office to get an opinion from a dermatologist. He also answers my email questions immediately. Dr Danny is the best!!! My son has been seeing him for 4 years now. He asks to visit Dr Danny! What kid gets excited to go to the doctor?! I just had my daughter a few weeks ago and he called me in the hospital to congratulate me cause he doesn't practice at the hospital I gave birth at. He made arrangements for his uncle (also a pediatrician) to come see her until my office appointment. The rest of his family is great too. Dr. Danny is the best! He was referred to us by a friend when I was pregnant and when we went to interview him, the man stayed late on a Friday (the rest of the office shut down for the weekend) and talked with us for an hour. He's a fantastic doctor and a lovely person. We've referred multiple other families to him after they had their babies too! The office is modern and clean and they have nurses on hand that answer any calls that come in from worried parents. Dr. Danny himself even gets back to you pretty quickly via e-mail or a text if it's after hours or on the weekend if you have a serious question or concern. They even helped ME out by giving my a strep test at the office (and yes, I had to sit on the "sick" side of the waiting room) when I couldn't get in to see my GP and I was still breastfeeding and freaking out about if I could pass whatever I had on to my baby. All in all, I can't recommend him enough. If you live in the valley and have a kid, Dr. Danny is the one you want taking care of them! read more
