I was so fortunate to get into Total Access Urgent Care on their grand opening/1st day in business…read more The online checkout process was easy and quick. I was able to book my appointment and they brought me back to a room pretty much when I arrived. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return because of the quality of care I received.

This urgent care is woefully understaffed. There was only one person working the entire time I was…read morethere. She tried mightily to handle customer service, testing, sanitation, coordination with off-site staff, and more--and I do commend her for her efforts. But this is no way to run a health clinic. I was really taken aback by the fact that, once I accepted a telehealth appointment with a nurse practitioner, I was expected to discuss all of my symptoms and treatment options using the receptionist's phone--in full earshot of everyone in the waiting room (though there were only a couple people; one was a minor). I question the legality of practicing medicine in this manner, ie, who is supervising the clinic if no doctors are on site? Are nurse practitioners in Illinois licensed to provide care and prescribe without direct supervision? Furthermore, while the nurse practitioner I spoke with was as kind as can be, their medical advice wasn't helpful. For an unknown respiratory issue I described, they prescribed over-the-counter meds including a sleep aid (although they knew I already had an Rx sleep aid from my own doctor), and a common motion sickness remedy (although they knew I already had an Rx anti-nausea med from my own doctor). They also prescribed a cough suppressant that was just plain ineffective. I don't doubt their intentions, but when I was able to see my own doctor days later, he was frustrated that they didn't prescribe any antibiotics (not knowing whether my infection was viral or bacterial), and at the OTC choices I was given. Moreover, he immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which found that I had already progressed to acute pneumonia. I would return to this urgent care only if--like the day I went there--I had no other choice. And that would be silly, considering there's a reputable hospital right across the street.

They asked to see my insurance card and immediately said they don't take my insurance card because we don't pay! I said I work in appeals and I have never had to reve a dispute for payment. I even called my insurance company and said TUAC at Chippewa location is In network Instead of putting Me in a room the I take person was more concerned with the manager had to say and took my credit card "just in case". In the mean time they took other patient before me. An EMT took my vitals . I waited almost an hour in room finally I walked out and the EMT said the provider is coming and I said when? He says there are about 5. Ahead of you!!! I said that's why I signed up for Save my Spot all you care about is $$! I told them they'd get a bad review from me and I'd notify BBB and my insurance company and my employer. Today I look at my credit card statementsand they charged me 50.00!

TAUC used to be the best Urgent Care in town, been using since day one. That is no longer the case…read more Front desk staff are no longer friendly; the location I'm at today has a broken front door and they are depending on waiting patients to let people in. The front desk is not offering privacy but rather talking loudly across the waiting room (possibly a HIPAA violation?). The place smells and it's far too dirty to be considered safe for patient care. We are staying today but after all these years will NEVER come back again.

If I could give my rating less than a 1 star, I would. I was recommended by my dentist, whom I…read moretrust immensely. Before my appointment, I was sent a plethora of pages to fill out as requested and brought them the morning of my appointment. I, like many people, read the fine print. Upon entering, I had to have a photo taken to load internally to help prevent fraud, which I kindly declined. If you have a credit on your account of $5 or less they expect you to write it off. I wrote, "I want any amount refunded". I also had to submit a credit card to keep on file. "Who in their right mind gives anyone a blank check to charge at any time?". I put a line through that and initialed it. Christy handed me another copy of that page and told me I could not write anything in, that I just had to initial it. She was insistent I initial the Workman's Compensation Form. I declined. She said, "Everyone has to initial it". I'm 70 years old, tell me why. The last straw was when I had to give my SS#. Again I was told, everyone gives their SS#. Christy said it was very secure and I'm thinking, computers are hacked every day. I said "I will leave before giving that information", and Christy's response was "Well, it will probably come to that". I wonder how many people don't read the fine print and don't realize what freewill they give businesses. As someone who has been a victim of credit card fraud more than once and identity theft, there are some things that need protection. Dr. Bell may be a very nice man, I wouldn't know as I couldn't get past the office staff. I have never in my 70 years had to have a mug shot taken upon entering a physician's office. I got the feeling the office staff was more concerned about getting their money than caring for people. First impressions are lasting.
