Horrible location! There was no one in the waiting room.... but also no one at the front desk... I stood there for at least 15 minutes! And people working there even walked right past me without saying anything!!! How is there not a front desk person? And what does it take to get some service around here? Whaaaaat? Why so few stars? Don't believe it. This is the best Quest lab I've ever been to. Today I walked into a packed waiting room at 11:00 and my wait was a whole 15 minutes. The longest I've ever had to wait here. At other Quests I've waited an hour. When I walked out st 11:30 there were all of three people waiting that's how it usually is. Five minute wait max. So let's talk about the phlebotomists. My veins have so much scar tissue that they are extremely difficult to find. Not today. Wonderful Minoo found it the very first time. All the phlebotomists are good, and all very nice. But just herself, Minoo rated five stars. Highly recommended!!! read more

Quest Diagnostics is in the Taj Mahal Building on the 3rd floor. Their website should give this info, locally everyone knows this building by its traditional name. On the day I walked in I didn't know I was supposed to fast so I wasn't able to get my blood drawn and was told I needed to make an appt. They don't make appts at this location, you can only make them by telephone or online. When I got home I tried to make an appt online but got a message saying the website was experiencing difficulties. So I called, went thru the automated system and got hung up on. Tried the website hours later and it finally worked. My appt was for 9:15, I walked into Quest at 9:08 and I was in my car leaving by 9:20. Carlos was amazing at drawing my blood. I have passed out in the past while getting blood drawn, so I'm a total baby when it comes to needles. This was the very least painful stick I've ever had in my life. I barely felt the needle go in and he was very careful while it was in and he was switching vials. It makes sense, because this is all they do, all day, every day. Don't bother with an appointment it means absolutely nothing. In fact you get penalized. I had an 8:15 appointment and got there at 7:45 and walk ins went before those of us with appointments. Bad business! Then I get into the room for the draw and a trainee was there with no ability at all. It took way too long to enter what she needed in the computer. Overutilized and/or understaffed. I have been here 3 times now, and each time the huge waiting room has been crowded with waiting patients. It's time for Quest to consider their clientele and add more locations in this general vicinity. Previous experiences at this location told me I would again be waiting 30 minutes or more just to get registered, then another hour or so wait for a quick blood draw. However, in reality, it took 1 hour and 40 minutes before I was called up to the desk to give my information and then another 25 minutes before I went in for my 5 minute blood draw. It's time to be patient-centered, not profit-centeted Quest Diagnostics. I would have awarded zero stars except that A) yelp! requires a minimum of 1 star AND B) there was a young woman at the front desk named Chloe who was patient, empathetic, and absolutely lovely with all of the dozens of dissatisfied customers. It was essential that someone answer the constant barrage of questions and complaints but she spent about 65% of her time dealing with these matters, preventing her from getting much completed. It is a very inefficient set up they have, but this woman should be promoted and receive a generous pay raise as she performed non-stop service recovery and kept tempers from flairing. If I ever have a choice, I will opt for a lab other than Quest...in fact, I am going to voic3 my complaints to my medical group and request that they allow patients to use someone not in the Quest monopoly. read more

Very cheap company giving cheaper prices to insurance companies to get their business (only concerned with profits). They no longer have staff either on phones or in their office (now check in on an iffy tablet). From experience I know that to go without an appointment means hours (literally) of waiting. I tried to get an appointment online. The 1st thing to fill is the reason. Mine was "other" (basic blood tests for a yearly exam). This was not acceptable as the "continue" icon would not function. The sequence was stated as 1-reason 2-location 3-when. I clicked on location and input that. Next took me back to reason. It looped reason to location and back eternally. I once accidentally hit a different reason and the continue button worked (but only for the wrong reason). Found a phone number (some, not all offices have one listed) and called but got a robot. All good til my name. I had to spell it and still it couldn't get it (English is my 1st language & I've no speech impediments). I wasted hours. Tried 2 different days thinking perhaps the system was down the first time. No luck. I finally called my insurance company and complained (let them make the appt and see). Instead they sent me elsewhere which was civilized with nice staff to check you in. I will NEVER go back to Qwest! read more

My daughter has labs 1-2 times a year and we've had issues with this location in the past. But this time we were seen within 5 minutes and the technician named Reece was great! I went to Guest Diagnostics, in the Taj Mahal building. In Laguna Hills on Paseo de Valencia. As I entered inside, by the desk were two touch screens, where one puts in all the information, that is required. Then I sat down, and watched on a large TV screen, the news of the day. I came in for a Covid test, I made my appointment. After checking in, we waited for my turn, the lab technician said I have to order the test (???) so confused now and nobody said anything about it when I scheduled the appointment online. So I got the code, it was leading me to the whole process over again. In the end I had to choose another appointment time for tomorrow because today was all booked up. I hope they don't tell me to go home because they close and I'm now considered "walked in " terrible service terrible process. read more

I really feel compelled to write this. The techs in the back get five stars, I've been here many times and they are the best, polite, sometimes funny & the blood draws here are painless for the most part. Once it a while you get somebody who like likes to stab you but for the most part the techs ate top notch. The low rating is for the horrible person at the front desk. She's just so rude and mean, no to mention as lazy as sin. I come here often and she's worked here a while & her attitude has not improved. Today when I was here I had an appointment so I checked in on the sign-in screen. When I was finished a gentleman asked me to help him sign in so I did...but excuse me, isn't helping patients sign-in THE FRONT DESK PERSONS JOB??? I saw him talking to her earlier & when she told him to sign in why didn't she offer to help him? It was quite obvious he didn't know what to do. I had to ask her a question about signing in without an appointment because I've always had an appointment when I come in. She sat on her duff and yelled the answer to my question to me. How about stop beaching about your terrible life to other employees and get up off your duff, do your job and help people! A lot of the people who come here are seniors who might not be the most technically savvy people. read more

Terrible experience. I made an appointment which apparently I did not have one when i had proof. I had to wait more than an hour. The lady who drew my blood did not even know what she was doing. She almost didn't sanitize my arm before the venipuncture and she was very unsanitary. read more

Before using this Quest location I read all the Quest reviews on Yelp. Those of you who rated this location as a negative might want to try this location again. They have improved or you were incompetent by mentally referring in your memory cells to past experiences in a different world for your evaluation. Checking-in was simple on the electronic devices. The waiting room was generous in size, clean, and neatly organized. The screen posting registered people with appointments was clear in the information it offered. The phlebotomist was very knowledgeable and informative. My blood was drawn with efficiency and minimal discomfort. I could not have been any more surprised and pleased by my experience overall. . . I am 77 years of age and new to CA. In my prior life I used a physician who had his own lab or I was sent to a location in a strip mall. Instead my blood was drawn in the most magnificent building I could have imagined- the Taj Mahal! It was worth having to hunt for a parking space on the street. Now I don't have to travel halfway around the world to see its wonders. Also, I now know I need to practice parallel parking. My use of back-up cameras was faulty. All of the staff at this place are just great!!! They are literally respectful, helpful and expeditious. It's been 2 years that I've bringing my mom here for all her lab works(she needs to do lab-works every 3 months) & every time they greet us pretty warm & do their best to help us!!! There is no method to contact the company except an online email. They responded to my inquiry that they will be in touch in a couple of days. No follow-up was received. Telephone contact is a machine, no live agent. The inquiry was due to the lab preforming a test that was not on the work order. No insurance coverage. Went for DOT drug test on Saturday. "Sorry we don't do this testing on Saturdays". Went that Following Monday morning 7am. "Sorry we don't do this testing until after 9am". I asked is there another Quest facility to do the testing right away and they didn't know. Save yourself time and go to the Santa Ana Quest location. I came here for labs, without an appointment. I was taken back almost immediately. I had Minoo (I apologize if I misspelled her name) and not only was she courteous and kind but she allowed me to wait in a back lounge during the one hour pregnancy glucose test. I was also missing a lab from my endocrinologist and she checked on me to see if I was able to have them add it in before the actual lab draw. She even made sure I wasn't too cold while I waited. Had no appointment and took my chances. This place can get pretty crazy busy any day of the week. Was first in line, arrived 6:45 A.M., doors open 7:00. I checked in on the iPad and in less than 30 seconds, my name was called! Talk about efficiency! The lady with the curly hair (I failed to get her name) greeted me and instructed me to proceed to room 1. She made me feel comfortable and did a great job with the blood draw. Didn't feel a thing! The process was so quick, blood work and urinalysis, I was out of the building 7:14 A.M. Thank you! Things to remember: - Best to have an appointment. Otherwise, arrive early, like 1/2hr before they open - Take your insurance card with you. If there is co-pay, tell them to send you the bill. - They DO NOT Validate Parking. - Parking MAY be "free" if you're super early. I've always had good luck here. I've never waited longer than 20 minutes but I typically go on Saturday mornings as I work M-F. One issue that is always irritating is that you have to pay $2 to park. There's no validating at this location and that $2.00 could be donated to a charity or tipped at the local coffee bar. The parking lot is completely vacant on Saturdays and no one is manning the ticket checkout but you still have to put in your credit card and pay your 2 bucks. I don't blame the truck that road over the shrubs to get out without paying. It made me laugh and then I saw the messed up shrub after and I felt guilty for laughing. My co-pay today after having blood drawn...$189. Quest should pick up the tab on parking here, especially when other locations have no parking charges. read more

Depending on the time of day it might be best to schedule an appointment in advance. I would recommend avoiding the Cabot Street location unless you want a 3rd world experience! My daughter has had some very unpleasant experiences with blood draws, including multiple vein collapses. So when her Dr. ordered blood work, she dreaded going through that again. She did everything she could in preparation, including drinking a lot of water and taking a Xanax to calm her down. I went along for moral support. Despite her preparation, she was already agitated when we arrived at Quest. When Miloo took her back to the room, she began to cry. Miloo could not have been sweeter or more understanding. She assured my daughter that her reaction was completely normal and offered her a place to lay down and compose herself. Then she requested the help of another phlebotomist, Benedict, who came into the room and was equally understanding. Benedict was able to calm my daughter down, explained everything he was doing, and completed the blood draw with minimal discomfort. I am grateful to both of them for making this experience as trauma-free as it could be. We will return to them whenever we need another blood draw! Thank you both! read more

They open at 7 but, if you are going for a drug test they don't do those till 9. They don't have that information on their website. You have to come in wait an hour and then be told you can't be taken until 9. They didn't even apologize for their inability to properly inform their clients and provide what is considered normal customer service. Avoid these people. read more

OMG. This is the worst clinic I've ever been to. I got there early for a drug screening. They called me up a half an hour later and didn't even start processing me. I was sent a survey request from Quest - I told them "You really don't need this survey to know what the general public thinks about your service....just read the reviews on Yelp. I've been to this location several times and may never go back. I don't know if you don't pay your people well or what. The front desk people are so rude it's sad. This location is by and large senior citizens. I know they can be slow and frustrating but they DESERVE honor, respect and patience. If we're all lucky we'll be old and forgetful one day too. They are short and snappy and have mean people tones and faces....it needs to stop...I always wonder where the managers are....how do these people keep their jobs? EXTREMELY difficult to find. There's a huge white building called the "Taj Mahal" off of Calle de la Plata. It's in there on the third floor.
