So I made an appointment online for 10am to get a glucose test. I showed up 15 minutes early and while signing in my name was called. I was told I know you made an appointment at 10am but that doesn't matter you have to be here before 8:30am for this test. WHATTT why was I able to schedule an appointment at 10? She says I don't know this is what I do and pointed to her computer. So I took a day off work and no tests. Don't make an appointment online for a glucose test just show up early. UGH!! read more

The service you'll receive here will be poor and rushed. We came here 3 times and all 3 days the women up front couldn't stress enough her clock out time. Saying "I have to leave at 4:30", CONTINOUSLY. As a full-time, 9 to 5 mom who has to beat traffic to make it to this place that's not what I want to hear the moment I walk in. I don't recommend spending your time dealing with a women who has a nasty attitude. & nurses with NO experience in drawing blood from a toddler! Go to another place where you feel welcomed in and trust that your child is in good hands. read more

There are many reasons, that you should go to this Quest location on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa, but the main one is the incredible services by their star employee, Mesha. Mesha is quite frankly the best person I have EVER had draw my blood, and she is the only person that I will ever allow to touch my veins again. First of all, there is very little wait time, and all of the employees are kind and respectful. But Mesha is very special. She is warm and embracing, and if you have any nerves at all, she quickly knows how to quiet them, with her professional, kind and positive demeanor. I have always been a hard blood draw. I've had my veins collapse, people who would go into my arm and then start digging around for my veins, always I had pain and complications, and large contusions. Mesha creates an absolutley stress free environment. Mesha has always found my vein on the first time, and with no pain whatsoever !! She knows exactly where to go, and what she is doing. And she is so warm and wonderful, you forget while you are there !! I have been so traumatized by my previous blood draws, but because of Mesha's exemplary expertise, I am no longer afraid to get my blood drawn. She also just has that something special, that makes you feel as if you are meeting an old friend. And she treats everyone with the same kindness and respect. I've truly never met anyone like her in my life !! If you ever need to have your blood drawn, I highly suggest you go to this location and ask for Mesha. You will find no better professional, no finer person, and you will leave there knowing you have just been blessed and your life made better, because of a professional, and a kind, wonderful, compassionate angel named, Mesha. read more

I've always gone here to have my annual blood drawn as a part of my physical and I like how this place is in the same building as my doctor's office. They also have a water cooler and a clean restroom in the lobby. The African-Am receptionist is none too friendly and on this last visit, she was also my phlebotomist and (like I told her) she had a hard time finding my vein. I've got really little ones; they're very hard to locate. She tried twice on me and then went to get help (it must be a rule). That's when Mesha S. came in. She found a vein on her first try and got the job done super speedy. A shout-out to her! Trust me, she's the best...she's got skills. A point off for the receptionist but overall, lots of stars for Mesha and the convenience. read more

Came into do my labs around 2pm today, wasn't busy, got in and out really quickly. The gentleman that helped me was very nice. Will definitely come back here next time I need to do labs! They're way faster than any other Quest Labs I've been to. read more

OMG. 21 years old and today was the first day I had ever gotten my blood drawn. My Dr wrote me a lab order and I had dreaded going to do it because of all my fears of needles. I had asked almost everyone I knew how bad it hurts having the needle inserted and most said it was a 7 out of 10 so this made my anxiety shoot through the roof! When I walked in the people sitting at the front desk greeted me and showed me how to check in. I waited only about 5 min before I was called back. The nicest and most professional lady ever named Marietta drew my blood. My pain was honestly only a 1 out of 10 because of how skilled she is. Within 10 min I was out the door. Marietta put me at ease before inserting the needle by telling me she's been doing this for 20+ years. This location isn't even the closest one to my house however I went out of my way to come here because it seemed a lot cleaner and more reputable than other quests. I am so happy with my experience and relieved that it was painless. Thank you Marietta!!!! read more

This Quest office was one of several on my doctors list of labs. Today was my third time here. I always make an appointment online. Today my appointment was 8:45am. I arrived early, 8:35am, and was given a specimen cup for urine. As soon as I completed that I was taken in for the blood draw. I was actually done and walking out the door at 8:43. It was probably a bit faster today because they already have my ID and insurance information from my previous visits. My previous two visits the wait was less than 5 minutes. Suggestions: Make an appointment online: My previous two visits I made the appointment the previous day. (If you walk out of your doctor's office with your lab paperwork and drive immediately to the lab without an appointment maybe you will have to wait 30 minutes or longer. But for your annual routine tests you can wait a day or two. My doctor ordered the tests last week). Arrive early. The only downside to this location is the parking is sometimes a challenge. Today there were 10 empty spaces in a row. At other times it can be like Fashion Valley on Christmas Eve. Get there early in case you need to search for a parking spot. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in all the labs I've had to go to. The receptionist big African American woman had the most nasty attitude! She snapped at me in an empty lobby over checking in as I was trying to explain to her the appointment was made through the phone for my son and not myself. She angrily snapped at me to check in the iPad and then get over upset with me when it does not ask if I have an appointment. Then god forbid I ask this mean woman a question she snaps at me again and tells me "just stop touching it". People like that do not belong in the medical field. If you can not be patient nor helpful then find a new career. I will never again go back to the quest lab. I'd rather drive all the way to Escondido then ever step two feet near this horrible place again. I wish that she would of wore a name tag so I could of spoken with a manager to give her proper etiquette and patient care lessons!! read more

I brought my 8 year old daughter here for a blood draw, to find only one staff member manning the office, the wait was an hour. I kind of felt sorry for that staff member doing everything by herself, she explained they were short staffed, which I can imagine leads to frustration on the part of the employee (being under pressure), and for the long waiting customers. Once we were called up though, she (Mesha) tried to be helpful with my daughter, who was very scared. She gave a friendly, gentle explanation, and did a great job with the needle. read more

The black female receptionist that people are complaining about is no joke .. you need to see it to believe how bad some people's interpersonal skills are. She cant possibly be having a bad day every day, considering the other comments here. Especially in the medical profession. I personally witnessed her being informative but rude to people here in the lobby. There is a way to follow procedure without being curt. read more

I am the biggest medical phobic person around; the fact that I even go inside the building is because I love my mom and don't want her to sit by herself in the office. My stomach flops as soon as I get in the door and see all of the lab coats and hear them talking about things called "blood samples." If I were not deathly afraid of all things medical, I don't know if I would trust these women to take my blood, well the front secretaries, thank goodness that is what they are because their job performance there is horrible and I can only imagine what it would be like if they were in charge of the needle stuff. The women who work in here are definitely not friendly which makes the situation uncomfortable before you even bring in the medical factor. The wait time is always forever, and it is not uncommon to get skipped on the list. Whatever happened to sequential order? Oh, and the waiting room chairs? Ugh. Someone not only need to take an interior decorating class on how to arrange them in such an way where you are not staring at your neighbor for the duration of your office visit, because it just feels weird... And the quality of the chairs are absolutely horrible. No mater what way you sit yourself in the chair, it is very uncomfortable.... The parents who scold their children about sitting still must not have the same chairs that the rest of us do because hell, I can't even sit still... On the handful of times I have ventured inside to the back rooms, I have wanted to faint, but luckily the people doing the scary stuff were actually really funny. It takes me a good while to settle down after I leave this place and don't want to be here any longer than I have too. The only reason why this place gets a star is because Yelp tells me it does, the back room employees, and the cute little kids/old people you see out in the waiting rooms. read more

Wish I could give this zero stars. The staff at the front desk are very rude. She gives you the big staredown when you ask a question and responds with an attitude that makes you think she is gonna come over the counter and assault you. The wait is always looooong and the chairs are very uncomfortable. It you like being treated like hated cattle this is the place for you. read more

The first Quest lab we went to did not have the bottles for blood culture so sent us to this one. I brought my daughter in for lab work. She has pneumonia. She is sick and very tired, just wanted to get this over with. I had all the insurance info on the lab order. They couldn't figure out where to send the labs and said I would be charged $2000 if sent to wrong place. It says on the order Rady's. They wanted a group number...it's right there on the paperwork. I had the card faxed so they could see the same info. They would not call the number on insurance to get the info that they needed. After an hour, I decided they were too incompetent to find a vein and didn't want them touching my daughter. read more
