Almost Every time I have came I made an appointment. Front desk agent is not the nicest. But keep in mind even with an appointment they're 30-45 mins behind. Once called back they take another hour! I had major surgery on my head 10 years ago, and yesterday, I really needed to go to a nearby Urgent Care. The place was nice, conveniently located near restaurants and pharmacies, with clean restrooms. The front desk staff was okay, and the doctor gave me an honest opinion about what I needed to do. However, the process wasn't very fast, as expected with Urgent Care, even though my head hurt badly. The doctor advised me to go to the ER to manage my pain and get further help. It took about three hours from filling out paperwork to answering questions. Thankfully, I went early when it wasn't too busy, but it got much busier as time went on. read more

I was here with my daughter for an appointment I made online at 8:30 checking in time 8:15am, we waited 1 hour to see the doctor with my daughter sick the nurse couldn't get the vitals correctly, then we were moved from one room to a different room. The doctor finally came and apologized for then delayed. After the visit went to cvs to pick up the meds, however they never send the prescription for my daughters medication. I went to cvs twice to tried to pick up the medication unsuccessfully. I called AFC twice and left a message stating I was at cvs trying to get the prescription unsuccessfully because they don't have it on their system My husband had to stop by the urgent care and talk to the font office to get the medication situation sorted out. They told him that we need it to go back in order for them to resubmit the prescription. We went back to AFC with my poor baby girl sick crying complaining of her pain in her ear they got her heigh and weigh and send us back to CVS. This whole situation wasted my whole morning. I came in thinking I have Covid because everyone in my family right now has it and I am totally miserable. And I have been sitting here for several hour, over three to be exact. Urgent care is a ridiculous name for this place. It's not that the people are Not nice and all that kind of stuff, but I wouldn't come here again under any circumstances, especially if I was in a hurry unless you cut your arm off or something, they might take care of you immediately. Genuinely such a huge waste of time and money. Do not come here unless you want to wait for hours to be ignored and shoved out of the door. I came in with difficulty breathing, a high temperature, wheezing, and being very lightheaded. I had to wait well over two hours to be seen by a doctor for five minutes, despite getting there early and only having two people ahead of me. The doctor rolled her eyes at me the whole time and didn't bother to actually listen to my lungs wheezing like how I explained. She said I'm fine and probably just have a cold. I do not. My nails are blue, I have now passed out twice, and I truly cannot breathe. I will never come back to this urgent care, they are unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude at best. Recently had a severely swollen eyelid and went first to Sharp-Rees where I was turned away because they don't accept Blue Shield or cash. Who doesn't accept Blue Shield!!! So went to AFC where I got excellent treatment. I was in and out in a little over an hour. P.A. Koerner was fabulous, diagnosing the problem right away. She was very caring, patient and explained everything very well. Prescribed antibiotics which were ready at my pharmacy by the time I got home. I highly recommend AFC, staff is great! read more

I was in and out within an hour. The staff was friendly at the front desk as well as in the back rooms. It was a little crowded in the waiting room, but it did clear up fairly quickly. The doctor seemed to really care about my issue and recommend me to reach out to my pcm after my visit to get a referral to get further care after that day. I was experiencing severe pain with a swollen lump on the side of my skull, decided to come to this urgent care to get it checked, and left regretting coming here. Thankfully little to nobody was there upon arrival on a Saturday evening. Masks are required. Check-in was quick since I did it online. The nurse doing my vitals was sweet and accommodating, asking the reason for my visit and what I was experiencing. Where it started to go downhill for me was the fact that after my vitals were done, I sat in the room patiently waiting for the doctor to come in. All I heard outside my door were a bunch of people trying to fix a printer (in which one of those people could've been the doctor) for at least a good 10 minutes. Then it went completely downhill when the doctor arrives, he immediately undermines what I have/am experiencing thinking it's a joke that all I wanted was some pain medications and a work note. He didn't even touch to feel/assess the lump on my head... kept asking me what I wanted when he's the doctor... I explained to him that the line of work I'm in puts me at a potential risk of getting injured again and worsening my medical issue if the swelling/pain doesn't subside. He did some "neurological" tests on me, says I'll be fine, and that people my age don't have issues. I proceed to ask if a CT scan was necessary. His witty demeanor stated that if I FEEL it's necessary if I'm having vision issues or am puking that I should. I get that I'm not a doctor, but I feel that doctors nowadays don't know what customer service is and show some sympathy towards their patients. I also understand that nobody wants to work on a Saturday evening or that all you want is to collect a paycheck. At least pretend to care instead of coming in with your body language giving off "this is a joke and a waste of my time." Definitely won't be coming back here. I've always been disappointed in the health care system. This visit, by far, has validated every way I feel towards the health care system. read more

I went today to get checked out bc I woke up feeling sick. The wait time was a little noticeable but you can tell that the staff cares and wants to get you in as soon as they can while also making sure that they keep up the quality of care for all patients. The online form made it easy to check in and give them all the information they needed. I was helped out by both Adriana and Kim and they both were so kind and caring. I get nervous around any sort of medical professionals and they both made me feel not only safe but comforted. I would recommend this place for any of my friends and family. I thought I broke my hand and within a few hours of my fall PA Michael Gonzalez had me X-ray-ed, bandaged up and safely on my way. His patient care and bedside manner were outstanding and he explained what I needed to do over time to be 100% better all in terms I could understand. New year, older me! Visited afc for back pain. It wasn't work related. I wish I had a cool NYE story, but nope, I just got older and woke up to a messed up back. Can I blame it on too much Just Dance gaming with the kiddos? The location is easy enough to find, with clear signage. Parking is much easier since Walgreens closed down. Waiting room is smaller than other places I've visited. Wait time is long as expected. I don't think I have been lucky enough to get through the entire process anywhere for less than one or two hours. I think I've finished at the DMV without an appointment for less time. Thankfully my phone had a full battery. Service was ok to good. Front desk gal was ok and the other gal who recorded my vitals and asked the script of questions was good. After moving over to an available exam room I waited a fair amount of time to watch Black Panther movie scenes from the Klaue car chase to when Killmonger challenged T'Challa for the crown in ritual combat. After the Physician Assistant answered my questions, I waited only a few more minutes for the front desk to complete my billing paperwork, send my prescription to pharmacy down the street, and prepare my return to work letter. The location is convenient, people are nice, but definitely bring something to pass the time and to distract you from being in a waiting room with illness and misery. I appreciate that the front desk has a box of tissues, but I'm not sure about those cursed masks. Maybe check the box for freshness? I wore one because I didn't want to catch whatever was being coughed into the room, but the mask fabric smelled like butt. Becky and I had a brief outdoor encounter with a friend who later tested positive for COVID. Out of an abundance of caution we decided to get tested. After scouring on-line for a testing sight, we chose AFC Urgent Care on the corner of Magnolia and Mission Gorge in Santee based solely on the facts that it was just minutes from our house and they opened at 8:00 AM. The morning of Christmas eve we took the short drive to the AFC Urgent Care. We arrived at 7:45 AM and we were about 8th in line. Once they opened at 8:00, they would let one person (or people of the same household) in at a time. One by one the people in front of us entered then a short time later exited with form in hand. When it was our turn we did the same. The ladies (nurses?) checking us in were polite, professional and thorough. We were handed our forms and told to complete them in our car and we would be called when it was our turn for the test. After about 45 minutes Becky was called in, five or so minutes later I was also called in. Once in I was directed to an examination room. A nurse entered and asked a few questions and took my pulse and blood pressure. Pulse fine, BP a bit high... A few minutes after that the Dr. walked in and administered the COVID test. She swabbed of both of my nostrils, and that was it. Start to finish the entire process took about an hour, most of it spent waiting in the car. The COVID test itself took about 45 seconds. We were told that we would receive our results in 5 -7 days. We tested on Thursday, the following Sunday we received the call. We tested negative for COVID! Yay!! No VID for us! My apologies for not taking note of anyone's name at AFC. The entire staff was great, from check in, to the nurse who took my vitals to the doctor who administered the test. All were great. They don't have enough providers. The front desk clerks referred us to another afc that was closed. The provider complained to my sick daughter about having to come in from her break. My daughter apologized and the provider responded "No. I'm serious." Very little compassion and much confusion. Don't use this place unless you have to. read more

Was seen on Saturday and came back on Wednesday for follow up as asked. No wait on Saturday, Wednesday two hour wait. Very pleased both times. My only problem the people who come in and complain because of the wait. It's an Urgent Care what do you expect!! I went in today at 8AM with my fiancé since he's been feeling sick all night and have non stop been throwing up. I came into the office to be BARELY greeted by Sarah asking him to check in and went straight to the back. Her lack of concern/ lack of interaction skills should definitely be reevaluated working in this field, especially with being the face of the company running the front desk. Twenty minutes later, another employee by the name of VANESSA came in and walked to the back to have a conversation with Sarah which seemed like forever. We checked in through my phone as soon as we got there and saw that it said there were 5 patients in front of us when we were the only ones in there and the only car in the parking lot which obviously raised concern on our part. I waited for someone to come to the front to clarify it. More than 20 minutes go by and at this point, my fiancé was having trouble breathing and started having chest pain. Mind you, they have a sign that says if the patient starts to feel SOB/chest pain to inform them IMMEDIATELY. I went as far as knocking on the door a couple of times and screaming "excuse me." I finally had enough of hearing them laughing and talking about nonsense so I decided to call their office. That's when Vanessa finally comes to the front and I tell her, "yes that was me calling and I've been trying to get your guys' attention." She goes on and says "well I didn't hear you" followed by an eye roll with her saying "well if you sit down then maybe we'll be able to help you." I then told her "he can't breathe and has chest pain" and continues with her attitude and then realizes the severity and starts to quiet down. Her demeanor and such UGLY and NASTY attitude shouldn't be able to work in a place where your main concern should be to CARE for the patients coming in to be seen at the facility you WORK at, not lollygag and have an attitude when the person is trying to explain what's happening. There's absolutely no excuse for how belittling that experience was! Anyways, I ended up rushing taking my fiancé to the ER where he is actually being taken care of and left that place more stressed out than coming in. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

He even made me laugh (the best medicine), which certainly helped make me feel better. Went to AFC urgent care yesterday! They were closing but they still took me in. I was having chest pains after recovering from Covid. They were fast and efficient. Gave me aspirin just in case and then I was sent to the ER for further testing. I can't thank them enough for staying after hours and helping me. It's hard to find wonderful caring staff such as AFC.
