Came as a walk in at 11:51am &was out before 12:30pm! Came here cause I was feeling sick& eyes were burning. Everything went by quickly from the check in to discharge. The nurse & PA explained everything& were straight to the point. Gave my meds& told me to get some rest! The only thing i didn't like was how confusing it was to get there. Parked in the structure, hopped on the elevator to the 1st floor, walked across &went up the elevators to the 6th floor. It is all the way to the end of the building. read more

The charge nurse Lejene was very rude and antagonistic when I was sick. They may not have even given me her real name. Would not give me her last name. Sharp Care Clinic is certainly not the best place to receive care. Rude, not able to get antibiotic when I am sick and know my body. I am 62 yo and a registeted nurse and know about my symptoms. Made 2 trips to this care clinic today. I feel badly for the patients and employees who have to put up with that nasty charge nurse who worked 6/7/2025 in the evening hours. My sister is visiting her once a year visit this week and I am sick and not able to get proper care. This place told me I had to be sick 10 to 14 days before they will give me an antibiotic. I can not let myself be sick 10 to 14 days! And I told them that. Update: I went back 6/8/2025 ( today) to ask for bloodwork and cultures to get to the bottom of this as to whether it is viral or bacterial and do repeat strep covid and flu tests and I fpund out they do not order labs or cultures and recommended I go to the ER. So i wasted 2 trips to this care clinic yesterday and one trip there today! DO NOT GO TO THIS CARE CLINIC. GO STRAIGHT TO THE ER. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOUBAT THE CARE CLINIC. Went in 2 times in 2 weeks, and they were fast and efficient. They told me it might be a bit of a wait, but then I was called back a few minutes later. The receptionists and nurses were so kind and respectful. The PA Jason actually listened to me and addressed my concerns. I will definitely be coming back here for my acute care needs. read more

I had to come here in order to have a COVID test completed before I could be admitted to the hospital in order to have my baby. I was provided with the info and I was able to go online to set up an appointment to get in. I had a staff member call me to change my appointment time around to get me in a bit later but overall the process was very easy. The day of my appointment I had no problems figuring out where to go and to park. There is a great amount of signs to direct you. I got to the care clinic and was able to get signed right in. I felt safe the entire time with the amount of people there and all of the other COVID protocols they have going on. My wait was about 5 minutes before I was seen. The waiting room is really nice and I loved that the tables all had spots to plug a USB in so you could charge you phone. When I was taken back to a room I didn't have any additional waiting time and they did my covid test right away. I had no issues and it was very quick. I was told my results would go to my Dr as well as on Follow My Health in 48 hours and it took less than 24 hours to get my negative results. Overall, my experience here was great and I know I would come back if I couldn't get to my dr and had to come here. read more

I have to get a Covid test at this facility before my surgery in a few weeks at Grossmont Plaza Surgery Center. I asked why I could not get a Covid test anyplace else, or at least at another Sharp facility closer to home. No go. Why is not a Covid test from the many services in every neighborhood not good enough? If I were flying to Hawaii, it would be good enough. Test results are fast, anywhere, and there are few who are providing false reports. I would certainly not be one of them. Test me all you want. But why make me drive all the way to La Mesa for a simple test? I live in Bay Park and I have a disability that makes it difficult for me to drive on freeways. San Diego Sports Medicine just laughed in my face. Find a driver. Great! We're trying to reduce carbon emissions and you won't let me find another Sharp facility to do a simple test, much less a drive-thru facility 500 yards from my home, and I'm a disabled adult. It makes you wonder the validity of testing. But we're all under this fiefdom of you do what we say, or maybe it's the insurance talking. Another question: Why does it have to be four days before surgery? Hawaii is three days before flight. Why can't it be five days before surgery so it doesn't disrupt my work schedule? Worst place ever!!!! I made an appointment here for a person who had been unsheltered for about 9 months and had no record of their vaccines. This person has no mode of personal transportation and no cell phone. When he arrived here at Sharp he was told he wouldnt be seen because he didnt have prior records. He was told how to access his prior vaccine records. To do this you have to have the cell phone number you used or email at the tine of vaccination. Both of which this person no longer has . They then told us that they are a "private clinic" even though they received public funding to give vaccines for free and turned him away not caring. It took me many phone calls, internet searching, and calls and finally found a place to have him vaccinated with no issues and questions asked. This place is terrible and should be investigated at how they use these funds and for who. Because those underserved and most in need arent being served. read more

As is with the case when you're usually dealing with Sharp Healthcare, you get beautiful buildings with inadequate and poor care. It was a Sunday late afternoon that I took an elderly friend to this clinic to deal with her eye infection. It took what seemed FOREVER for the receptionist to let us in through the front doors of the building after we buzzed in. When we got to the sixth floor where the clinic is located, the receptionist and the medical professional on duty seemed to be very disconnected, confused, and uncoordinated. My friend got taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Still, confusion reigned when the medical professional insisted on sending the prescription my elderly friend needed to a pharmacy that was closed after 6 p.m. They said there was no way for us to utilize the pharmacy at the hospital. They wanted then to send us to the other end of El Cajon near Rancho San Diego over ten miles away to have the prescription filled. After being totally clueless on where to send us and even suggesting us delaying us getting the prescription to the next day (my friend needed the medication immediately), we settled on sending us all the way to Santee to have the prescription filled. I was so unimpressed with their confusion, especially with dealing with an elderly person. They had ABSOLUTELY no compassion and care for me, the caregiver. Because of the COVID situation, even though I was wearing a mask, I was not permitted to sit in a corner seat in the reception area, although the seat was designated for such. Instead, I was ordered out of the waiting area to sit on an uncomfortable metal bench out of the Soviet era in front of the elevator. I ended up straining my neck sitting there instead of having a proper chair with a back rest. Again, the usual problem with Sharp where mandates are made without consideration of the end result. Even in the former Soviet Union the person bringing an ill family member would be treated better. Overall, everything at this clinic was SO AVERAGE....absolutely no attempt at delivering exceptional care especially when it came to the ease of getting a simple prescription filled. My elderly friend was not terribly impressed either with the medical professional on duty who seemed to be concentrating more on herself and being impressed with herself rather than listening to the patient. Overall, one should think twice about utilitizing this MOST very unremarkable healthcare facility. Doctor's Express in Santee off Mission Gorge and Magnolia is Thousands times better than this poor excuse for an urgent care facility. At least there you have office staff who are coordinated and genuinely care for the patients that come through their facility....not the robots who have tricked somebody to hire them at Sharp Grossmont "Care" Clinic. Sharp Grossmont Hospital Care Clinic and it's staff is a complete and total embarrassment to the entire Sharp Healthcare system and the Grossmont Hospital District. read more

They took excellent care of us! We had an appointment across the walkway at another office for my sons 2nd Covid vaccine and when we got there they were closed! Never called us to say they were closed, in fact sent a text reminding me of our appointment. I walked across the way to this urgent care to see if they could possibly squeeze us in for a Covid vaccine, they only work with appointments. Just found out about this care clinic today. Parking is directly across the street from the entrance (bring cash to pay parking fee). I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Very modern, extremely clean and beautiful facilities. I was immediately seen after checking in. The reception staff, nurses and my physician were extremely nice, accommodating and knowledgeable, they were excellent! This is the best urgent care facility I've ever used. Brought my Mom here twice prior to each of her surgery, due to the pandemic, she had to get tested for Covid every single time for her upcoming operation, which they had done very fast, and the result came in fast as well, only took about 2-3 days and the doctor will proceed right away. I can't remember what time I arrived at the hospital care clinic but I know it was late evening. I was in excruciating pain and when I arrived...I was immediately guided to a room where they took a urine sample. The physician suggested I was probably suffering from a kidney stone and he gave me a special paper that enabled me to by-pass the waiting room in ER. I was taken to the X-Ray area and received a CT scan, which confirmed a kidney stone. I was ushered into the area with beds and within about 15 to 20 minutes, I received pain medication. I was released at around 4AM and had to endure more pain at home for another day, till I passed the kidney stone. Bottom line: I got the care I needed at Grossmont Care Clinic and it was a positive experience. read more

Do not go to this care clinic thinking it is urgent care despite the sign outside. This is a scam clinic, the doctors bill as if they are seeing you in the hospital, you are treated as a new patient and not an urgent care patient. The sign on the street says visit this clinic for your urgent needs. Then the bill comes and the billing staff denies this is urgent care. The Sharp Grossmont Hospital administrators from the billing staff to the CFO permit this unlawful, misrepresentation.This facility is not licensed for urgent care, this is nothing more an attempt to fraudulently deceive the public and avoid the licensing requirements for an urgent care facility. read more

Well this was surprising. I'll give them some stars back for following up on my issue. Although I received great care, I also received a surprise $300 dollar bill following my routine appointment. I fought it for months, for the reasons described below, before finally giving up, paying it, and vowing not to make the mistake again. Then, last month, I saw a random refund come into my bank account (7 months later) and received a call from the clinic basically saying they're trying to make it right. There are no words to describe, the amounting gratitude I hold for this place! I have Idiopathic Anaphylaxis and they have been able to treat me and clear my reaction, numerous times! I've also started there and then an ambulance ride, to an ED, and a hospital stay BUT I trust their judgement and have become familiar with the staff. They are amazing! Several of my colleagues have skipped an ED visit because they're able to do IV treatments, which is huge! The doctor that 'runs' it is amazing and though everyone is ra, I've come to know Denise (RN), and she is epic and a magician! They've literally saved my life more times than I can count. read more

I will give Grossmont this, it looks a lot better than when I was a kid, and smells better too. I remember the green walls and the gag inducing smell of old school Lysol when visiting. It's now sprawling, modern, and huge and has taken over Grossmont. And even though the area is not anywhere near as overpopulated as downtown, for some reason you have to pay for parking. But I still hate going to the hospital, whether it's for myself or a loved one, and this one always feels like some Orwellian monstrosity where no matter how much you pay, you are made to feel like an unwanted burden. And I have only had these experiences here. I could start way back with my uncle whom they let die during a simple hip surgery because they didn't bother to do CPR. And while he was in a resultant coma, they tracked family members down to complain that he wasn't dying fast enough and they needed the bed. This was our reward for not suing the young inexperienced doctor & hospital involved in this botched surgery. I could talk about myself pushed out and confused on anesthesia in the middle of the night and they wouldn't even call a cab while my hand was literally broken! I could talk about going in for an ingrown toenail, waiting for hours, only to be shoved phone book thick advanced directives before they'd treat me, and I'm still young. But what brings me back to this place is my mother whom I've been heartbreakingly losing bit by bit to Alzheimer's. Unfortunately she was brought to this hospital this time. And without fail, as with all the times she has had the misfortune of ending up here, I get a call from someone I don't know, who is not involved with her care at all, relentlessly pressuring me because they wont respect what we have legally chosen regarding her advanced directive! I only have so much time left with my mother whom I love more than anything, and they seem to resent it! This takes me back to when my mother first got sick in 2012 and they insisted there was no hope and I give up. (7 years ago!) One nurse even hovered over me while I was attempting to visit my mother and asked "what I hoped to get out of this"?! How do these people live with themselves?! I'd really like to know. read more

I came on here to get the address for a friend and the reviews on here suck! Sounds like a bunch of entitled people if you ask me, typical first world problems. I came here one time on whim over a year ago and I was in and out in 30 minutes. There was literally no one in the waiting room, the doctor actually gave a shit about what I had to say and so did the nurse. Front desk was nice too. They also have a little patio waiting area on a balcony right outside. 5 stars, will be back. read more

My Primary Care Physician Elaine Henson N.P is awesome!! Not only does she show concern she is also solution based. She is undeniably on top of diagnosing and treating my illness. She has shown devotion to getting my health back in order. I give her kudos for always being prompt and thorough as needed. She takes her time explaining things and I never feel rushed during my visits. When it was my turn Michelle helped me, she was very friendly and very knowledgeable about my insurance questions and concerns. I agree completely with the other reviews regarding their billing practices - both on here and on their Google reviews. Trying to deal with this issue, for a single visit, has taken a full year. They do not bill as an urgent care but as a new patient/doctor visit. Multiple phone calls to both insurance and to their billing company, knowing what the issue is, only to be told that it is the only way their contract allows them to code the visit. The bills also do not reflect the co-pay they collected at the time of the visit. Honestly, I should be able to bill them for all the time I have wasted on this. read more

Experiencing extreme pain overnight, my wife, signed up for an appointment the next morning. Their website https://www.sharp.com/locations/sharp-grossmont-hospital-care-clinic-1480 states that "Our staff will ensure that we provide care at the most affordable cost option to you. The maximum out-of-pocket charge for a visit is $200." We checked in at the scheduled time and they took her back to be examined. She returned from the room less than 10 minutes later with instructions to go to the Grossmont Hospital Emergency Room...which we did. A few weeks later we received a bill from this care clinic for $536. I called their billing department but got nowhere. After a time they threatened having a collection agency come by...so we were forced to pay the $536. So much for "The maximum out-of-pocket charge for a visit is $200." I agree with Elizabeth O. We would never go here again or recommend that anyone else go here either. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before we decided to show up. But it's pretty difficult to do at 3 AM when simply trying to find an office that might help with an answer and alleviate her pain. read more
