Wait time as a walk in was only 15 minutes. The good ended there. The kiosk is easy to use for some, not all. Witnessed two people really struggle and there was only one worker, the phlebotomist who was busy drawing blood. I was told it was paint but there is nothing red anywhere in that room. That coupled with questionable glove practice is enough to make me not go back. I'm hopeful I'll get my results back quickly because that's what they are known for a quick email turn around but holy smokes waited FOREVER!! wouldn't suggest this location at all. Clearly a drug test location which is why I think there is such a super long wait as well. I don't think it should state no one is being helped in the back but there are literally 10 ppl waiting in the lobby. The fastest Quest in town, I am glad I picked this location instead of calling any other Quest for appointment, it was a bit of a drive, but on the 2:30 PM traffic, I took the 52 then 125 to get here was a smooth drive, spacious parking lot, a large building with a lot of offices, required some time to walk and navigate, but it is located on the 2nd level suite 285, you can basically got a walk in appointment as long as you put your name into a system, and especially if you're not here for drug screening, the process was super quick in less than 15 minutes. I gave kudos to all the staffs here and help my relatives get their blood work done so quickly. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]When I told the 2 staff members that I'd been waiting an hour they said I should check in, I said I did and they demanded proof, which I didn't know how to give, because the automated check in system on the computer should've relayed that info.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ended up having to get on a wait list because the kiosk said I missed my appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] one of the staff members left while I was waiting and then there was one person working and 10 people in the waiting room. If I could rate this LOCATION zero or negative stars, I would. I had a set appointment, arrived 10 minutes early (on my lunch break), checked in via my phone, and waited 50 minutes to NOT be seen. Like I saw in a previous review, there is no one up front. So, as I patiently waited, I saw I was going to be late for work if I was not chosen soon. These tests are important for my wife and myself, so I decided to wait a little longer but now standing at the empty front desk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm not going to run a blow-by-blow with my interaction with the tech that day, but she is honestly in a crappy situation where she is overworked, understaffed, and started taking it out on me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She refused to look at my authorization on my phone (my fault, didn't know to print it, do now) and made me go back to the waiting room instead of working with what I had for her and allowing me to email her the document so it was in my file later.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was forced back to the waiting room for however longer it would take to have another tech get me. This was incredibly unnecessary and frustrating. What tells me that it is a location issue and not a company-wide issue, is that I was able to schedule a last minute appointment the SAME DAY for the same tests in the hillcrest location, was greeted by smiling/happy and accommodating techs and waited less than 5 minutes to get seen. The only people who care are the employees, who are caught between their patients and incompetent management, by design of said management. I hope you only have to visit here once and keep physical copies of all orders from your doctor/employer etc. I've been on a medication that requires 6 months of blood samples for monitoring. My Derm's office uses QuestDiagnostics. I've been to more than 6 or 7 visits at over 3 different Quest clinics. EVERY single time they have forgotten my orders, made me miss or reschedule appointments , have been unprofessional and basically a pain in the butt to deal with. read more

This place is fine in terms of the fact that sometimes you just *have* to use places like this for certain types of testing... it's clean enough, but come early and come prepared, and schedule an appointment. You need to be completely aware of what you need as it really depends on who is there and whether or not they're properly trained in all processes. My arm is still bruised almost a week later after a blood draw-- not the best experience considering I am pregnant and get my blood drawn a lot these days. Someone with more experience doing this, won't bruise you and damage your veins with rough movement and inaccuracy. read more

I I have to get blood work done regularly and I get it done at Quest Diagnostics. I love the one on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa. Every time I go there the staff who draw my blood are super nice and very professional at their job because I hardly feel when they put the needle in it's a very faint pinch I wish every time I had to get blood drawn the people who did it were like the Quest Diagnostics people on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa. So this location is in La Mesa off of Fletcher far surpasses the location right over by Garfield (which I've visited multiple times). Located on the second floor of a medical office building easily accessible via stairs or elevator. This location like all other Quest requires you to check in on a tablet quosk and wait to be called to furnish your paperwork or confirm your lab orders in the system/faxed in. Over the many times I've been here I've yet to have bad experience. The phlebotomist(person who draws your blood sample) have been efficent and sweet. I use to be a "hard stick"(16x before blood would be drawn in my youth when I was obese) but each time I've been here the lovely ladies have been perfect and draw blood on the first try all without making it hurt. My hats off to these girls. Large enough waiting room means you wont feel crowded like cattle waiting slaughter. The location is clean and they do have a TV to help pass the time if you do have to wait(longest I've had to wait was 30min without an appointment and thats additionally because my drs office forgot to fax over the lab order). I usually go in the early AM shortly after they open so I cant say about the afternoon rush but definitely the Quest I prefer to visit. read more

Really confused about the mixed reviews, but here's my experience. I'm taking a phlebotomy program while I'm in between semesters at college and needed to get a titers test to prove my immunity to MMR, chicken pox, and hep B. I currently don't have health insurance and decided to go to a cvs minute clinic to get a Tdap booster shot and a referral to get a titers test. I ended up paying 154$ for the visit and tdap booster at cvs and was given a referral to quest diagnostics. I googled the company and scheduled a visit online for two days later. I felt a little concerned given the amount of mixed reviews at various locations, but ultimately settled on this one since it's closer to my house. I scheduled my appointment for 2 pm and arrived and check in at the kiosk at 1:45 and was greeted within a few minutes since there was no one sitting at the front desk. After a few minutes of waiting, I was taken back to get my blood draw(still before my actual appointment time). At this point the woman who was helping me out asked if I had insurance and was going over the tests and the pricing for each of them. I honestly had already expected to probably pay a couple hundred bucks since I didn't have insurance, but when it came down to it, the final price for getting a titers to prove my immunity to MMR, chickenpox, and hep B plus the fee to actually draw the blood which is around 20$, the price was well over 600$!!! I was so surprised, but figured I had to pay it. Luckily, the woman who helped me and her co worker both thought those prices were absolutely ridiculous and way too expensive. They told me about this website called Ulta labs where I could create an account, order my own labs without a doctors referral, and that it would cost significantly less. I went back out into the lobby and spent about 5 minutes creating an account, ordering my labs, and paying for it. Now, when I tell you that it was significantly less, it really was! It went from being well over 600$ to 229$! I was blown away and really happy! Plus the overall blood draw was painless and the staff members who helped me were very nice and I appreciated them telling me about Ulta labs and saving me a lot of money!! read more
