Quest Lab on Fletcher is the worst lab with no customer service even if you have appointment. The phlebotomist was so condescending when I asked her how long the wait was even though we had an appointment. there was two other phlebotomist in the back doing who knows what they said training but the waiting room was full of people. You would think they would come out and start taking patients out until I got up and said how long was the wait. No apology whatsoever because they were running behind but of course they canceled this lady's appointment because she was five minutes late for her appointment and they told her to wait as a walk-in. She had been waiting for an hour and a half when I left. read more

I admit my most recent visits are not for the most pleasant of services, but my experiences here have always been good. I've been here several times over the last few years and I've always been treated in a professional and courteous manner by all of the staff here. Sure, sometimes I have to wait. This is because I don't make appointments. I'm ok with waiting, I understand they get busy. I also appreciate that I only have to give my first name when I sign in and that's it. I like that they value my privacy and don't ask for anything else. It's always been tidy in here. I've never had to use the restroom, so I can't speak to that, but the blood draw rooms are always clean, as is the lobby. Recently I had to come in for blood work and a two part urine collection for kidney stones. This required me to take home collection kits and return them at later dates. This was seriously NOT fun. It entailed me collecting urine for 24 hours at a time, twice. I cannot imagine how they keep a straight face explaining this test to people like me. I'm just looking at the poor guy like: you want me to pee in that big jug??! And I have to refrigerate it TOO??! YOU'RE JOKING RIGHT?! OMG!! I almost hyperventilated on the spot. It was pretty bad. I'm not gonna lie, the thoughts going through my mind were bad. I put the test off for weeks, in true Lesley-style. It was awful, but I finally did the first one. I dropped it off right away too! I couldn't wait to get it out of my house, or more specifically the disposable cooler I bought for refrigerating my specimen..(yes, I'm a freaking weirdo). I don't mess around, there is no way urine is going into my refrigerator. I did finally manage to follow through with this test collection, so there's that.. This Quest Diagnostics is located on the second floor of the Fletcher Parkway Medical Center building at 8881 Fletcher Parkway Blvd. If you get the munchies, you're in luck, they've got a little coffee cart/snack cart downstairs on the first floor in the lobby. There is plenty of parking available, and it's located close to the 125 freeway. read more

I don't understand What the point of making a 12 o clock appointment?! But close at 1130?!

Having to do a pre-employment drug test for work, I was told to just "walk-in." After an hour of waiting, I FINALLY got my cup! I took about 3 minutes of their time. (TMI alert: They wouldn't let me wash my hands until after I initialed a few papers. That pen must be SOOO gross.) Most of the other guests were having blood work done, which I can only assume takes a lot longer than peeing in a cup. I think they were understaffed. There was only 3 people working there, and no one was manning the front desk for most of the time. read more

This quest is one of the best ones out there the staff always help me fast and the needle pokes are quick and painless.

Extremely long wait even when you have an appointment( only myself and 2 people in the lobby waiting).Trying to reach someone by phone is impossible if you have any questions or concerns. This should be an area that management should work on my opinion. Only 2 stars for the nice nurse which drew the blood with no issues and the convience of the area. read more

When tech goes wrong: Quest Diagnostics can afford to have an actual person to check people in instead of this dang iPad. Everyone's having a hard time while the clinician's keep having to help people. The people are VERY helpful, but this is not efficiency nor customer service value. The average person getting blood work is NOT tech savvy! I maybe but about 4/5 people are older! They're here for medical reasons! Meanwhile me/my insurance pays nearly $500-$1000 for all the blood tests I've needed. Seriously? There's a couple grand in this room getting blood work right now, shame on Quest! My man Pete changed my whole outlook tho: he's a great man and very good at what he does. The stars go to Pete, with one being deleted for Quest being cheap and not giving these people an office admin to help efficiency! Remember when customer service in the medical industry was paramount? Stop digitalizing things that aren't efficient. The elderly deserve more! read more

I made an appointment for 1:20 and got there at 1:10 to check in and to be there to be called in and there was other people there as well who where there before me waiting for their appointments that where before mine i didn't get attended until 3:10 which is almost an hour after my appointment time. i've gone to get my blood drawn at many places in the past and this is by far the worst. read more

I walked in this morning without an appointment. I was greeted with the biggest smile, which caught me off guard and I (hate myself but) I forgot to get the two ladies' names. (I am so sorry I can't call y'all out by name; both of you were amazing!! Thank you!). I have to commend them for getting me off my 'game' of getting names. Our banter was just that good! So easy and natural; like we were all old friends. ( I gotta say, I'm kinda awesome too...) Mind you, I'm about to get my blood drawn which, with a few notable exceptions, causes me to faint. I know, I cause myself to faint because I watch the blood leave my body, never to be seen again......... and then I stop the breathing process. Knowing the problem is half the solution ;-) Anyway, they moved me to a room with a sweet table to lay on, and the blood came flowing out... easy as pie... now I'm off for some food!! read more

I made an appointment beforehand for some bloodwork and was in and out in minutes. The person who greeted me and drew my blood was named April, the blood draw was absolutely painless. She was professional, efficient, and had a pleasant attitude even though right before she helped me she was dealing with a belligerent and agitated man at the counter. Not only does this place seem incredibly unsanitary (wait till you get in the exam rooms), the wait (even with an appointment is horrible. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was still waiting an hour after the appointment time had passed. The only reason the rushed me in finally was because they were closing for lunch and I complained about having to leave and come back. Once in the exam room it only took 2 minutes to get done. The customer service is horrible and I'm glad all I had to do was urine drug test. I would not have wanted to have any other testing done at this place. read more

Writing this while i walk out, the ladies at the front desk are sweet and welcoming. I needed a TB test ASAP and they took me in right away around 4:30pm which was super convenient. Barely felt the poke and i was done in less than 10 minutes. The only complaint is for trying to reach a HUMAN representative on the phone, i called many times to try and reach a person but the automated service wouldn't even give me that option so i just decided to drive to the lab which was an excellent choice. After having an appointment I was told that I could sign in on the kiosk. Following that my name popped on the screen as "#7 appointment". However, if you have an apt, you are first according to this QUEST PLEDGE. After waiting 20 minutes and not even being helped, I watched other names be called before me, all walk-ins. Yet, Quest, your agents had no concern to help me, and when presented with a concern and asking for a manager, I was told there wasn't one on site and I would be given that information, yet, now--45 minutes later, no supervisor : manager phone number and still wait On the list for help. Your pledge states " PATIENTS WITH APPOINTMENTS ARE GIVEN PRIORITY"... you have not given me one ounce of priority. The girls in here when now showed a confirmation haven't helped me and have made me wait an upmost now of 55 minutes. I won't return here and make sure YOU have an apt card in hand proving it because text message from quest doesn't seem to be enough. read more

The staff at la Mesa California location are rude and disrespectful. I did not appreciate the eye rolling by the phlebomist when I questioned a policy. She treated me as if I was uneducated and needs to learn better customer service. I will never recommend it return to your faculty. Your staff needs customer training. Know that the building is close to AAA (Auto Club), just east I believe, so you know you're @ the right place as I couldn't find the 8881 address numbers anywhere on the medical bldng. of this Quest locale to be sure I was @ the right place as I was rushing. First, I drove my frozen & refrigerated samples for testing to the Quest Lab location @ 5103 Garfield, La Mesa 91941 which closes @ 4:30pm. I arrived to a locked door @ 4:40pm so this location will be removed from my cell as I am busy & need the extra half hour that the 8881 Fletcher Pkwy Ste. 285, La Mesa 91942 offers staying open til 5pm. Again, my samples were both cold & 1 frozen so time is important in that respect as well especially in these high temperatures. I arrived @ 4:55pm & ran from the parking lot to the Quest door to be there before the 5pm closing time, @ 4:57pm. I did knock hard & waited to assess if anyone was still there. I knocked again & dialed the number which I could hear ringing but no answer. Tho' I did arrive in time, it was @ closing so this could have gone either way. I try never to keep anyone past their work hours; we all deserve the respect of time on & off of work. When the door opened now a few minutes after 5pm, I apologized profusely to Bonnie who was professional & kind. I explained that the samples were rushed to the Garfield location first & thanked her multiple times for her courtesy & helping me just as her workday was ending. Pete is awesome! I go out of my way to go here if I have to get my blood drawn. He is so gentle, friendly and will help you relax. I have tiny veins that people often to struggle to find. He was easily able to find them and then used the butterfly (small kid needle) to make it less painful. He talked to me through the entire things and made it a very quick, painless experience. Where do I even begin to express my disappointment with their service. It was so unorganized and it looked under staffed. The wait for blood drawn was over 45 mins. The two people working in the desk kept giving attitude and snapping at customers. The Filipino man and the African American women need to be trained in customer service and be polite. Took my baby in for a lead test today. The first phlebotomist was having trouble getting a constant blood flow so she called the other phlebotomist on site. This older Philippino lady that seemed to be the most experienced one of the bunch attempted and missed. She then began moving the needle around inside his arm for a few minutes and was not able to get any blood out at all. I've had this happen to me where there the tech has moved the needle around trying to get into the vein and it HURTS like HELL! So I told her to stop and I told her we were done. I told her my experience with the same thing and I wasn't going to have my son keep getting pricked and hurt for no reason. So I told her I was leaving and she told me. "Ok. Don't come back." I said nothing back and just walked away. I will never go to that Quest Diagnostics ever again. read more

It took 2 hours just to get in, the staff was poor and borderline rude. The complained constantly about how hot it was(none of the customers were complaining). The staff told us to write that they needed more worked in the review and get better AC(plain unprofessional). They ended up shutting down early because of the heat, and they LOCKED the door with at least 12 people inside. I told them that this was an OSHA violation and that they couldn't do that, and the man in charge said "No AC is OSHA violation"(it isn't) Their ignorance to basic OSHA laws was pathetic, and I should've called the fire department right then and there. This was the worse experience I've ever had at this lab and will never come back. I was a few minutes late for my scheduled appointment and was rudely told now I will have to be a sign in and wait. Once I was called, the rude receptionist told me I would have to give her a credit card and be charged for $175.00 in order for my blood to be drawn. I told her I have never paid up front before and my deductible had been met. She just gave me a disgusted look and said that's how we do it here now. I just left. read more

I had to come back and update. The same wonderful phlebotomist is still working there. I needed to take a 3 hour test that requires 4 different blood draws. I had no appointment, just walked in. And like last time, I was set up and ready to go in 2 minutes or less. All of my blood draws were so quick and easy - approximately a minute for each draw and I was done. No burst veins, digging, or other problems. This is seriously the best phlebotomist you could ask for! read more

They have the worst customer services. The nurse who took my urine sample was very rude and disrespectful.

So I made an appointment online for 10am to get a glucose test. I showed up 15 minutes early and while signing in my name was called. I was told I know you made an appointment at 10am but that doesn't matter you have to be here before 8:30am for this test. WHATTT why was I able to schedule an appointment at 10? She says I don't know this is what I do and pointed to her computer. So I took a day off work and no tests. Don't make an appointment online for a glucose test just show up early. UGH!! read more

There are many reasons, that you should go to this Quest location on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa, but the main one is the incredible services by their star employee, Mesha. Mesha is quite frankly the best person I have EVER had draw my blood, and she is the only person that I will ever allow to touch my veins again. First of all, there is very little wait time, and all of the employees are kind and respectful. But Mesha is very special. She is warm and embracing, and if you have any nerves at all, she quickly knows how to quiet them, with her professional, kind and positive demeanor. I have always been a hard blood draw. I've had my veins collapse, people who would go into my arm and then start digging around for my veins, always I had pain and complications, and large contusions. Mesha creates an absolutley stress free environment. Mesha has always found my vein on the first time, and with no pain whatsoever !! She knows exactly where to go, and what she is doing. And she is so warm and wonderful, you forget while you are there !! I have been so traumatized by my previous blood draws, but because of Mesha's exemplary expertise, I am no longer afraid to get my blood drawn. She also just has that something special, that makes you feel as if you are meeting an old friend. And she treats everyone with the same kindness and respect. I've truly never met anyone like her in my life !! If you ever need to have your blood drawn, I highly suggest you go to this location and ask for Mesha. The service you'll receive here will be poor and rushed. We came here 3 times and all 3 days the women up front couldn't stress enough her clock out time. Saying "I have to leave at 4:30", CONTINOUSLY. As a full-time, 9 to 5 mom who has to beat traffic to make it to this place that's not what I want to hear the moment I walk in. I don't recommend spending your time dealing with a women who has a nasty attitude. & nurses with NO experience in drawing blood from a toddler! I've always gone here to have my annual blood drawn as a part of my physical and I like how this place is in the same building as my doctor's office. They also have a water cooler and a clean restroom in the lobby. The African-Am receptionist is none too friendly and on this last visit, she was also my phlebotomist and (like I told her) she had a hard time finding my vein. I've got really little ones; they're very hard to locate. She tried twice on me and then went to get help (it must be a rule). That's when Mesha S. came in. She found a vein on her first try and got the job done super speedy. A shout-out to her! Trust me, she's the best...she's got skills.
