Quest Diagnostics has been a lifesaver for me. I get bloodwork about 4-5 times a year and when I would have my doctor's appointment, I used to have to wait a long time with alot of other people to get my blood drawn. I hated it. I was informed of this being an option. The doctor just sends the order electronically or by email and I use the app to schedule an appointment. It's by appointment only to my knowledge. I have come to this location about three times so far. Most times have been seamless. Staff is super friendly and helpful. There was only one time I had a phlebotomist who was nasty and unfriendly. We kept butting heads. I don't think she's there any longer. I'm not sure why many of the other reviews have low ratings of this facility. When I go now, I make sure to ask for Shakelia, she is always GREAT! I'm in and out where I can go about the rest of my day. Thank you Quest Diagnostics for being my life saver! read more

There area and space was very easy to find and very clean. It was an easy process, making the appointment, coming in and getting everything done. Upon entry you are to check yourself in with the check in device in the front. You take a seat and they'll usually call you within 2-3 minutes after you check in if you have an appointment and are on time. I did my blood work super quick. I was in and out within 15 minutes. The location is next to staples, like many offices in Chicago you find the building number and then take the elevator to the floor on the address. (Floor 15) for this one. There is an easy self check in and no receptionist. I was called back right away. The lab tech took my blood and it was painless. She provided the glucose drink and gave me instructions. She was friendly and professional; zero complaints. I was worried bc of the other reviews but I had no problems. She put on new gloves every time and it was clean. read more

There are no signs outside the building to quest. We walked around the streets and building for 30min trying to find this place. No one in the area knew where quest is located. Once we arrived to the appt there was a young black woman at the front that said my appt is cancelled. When I checked in for walk in, she said walks ins are not allowed anymore. Quest should make a statement of walk ins aren't allowed if they are discontinuing it . Why does quest have the walk in option in the kiosk if it's not allowed? The lady said she has several scheduled appts around the clock so she can't take us. We spent another 45 minutes trying to reschedule and we waited and its so said to see that 0 patients walked in during that hour. It's pure laziness of employees that is so unethical! I definitely need to raise my concern about the practice. I went there for blood work. The staff is efficient and quick. But I noticed that she didn't change gloves after touching other people's blood sample tube and before doing my blood work. Even the chance of me getting infected through this might not be high, but this is a little concerning to me. I always see people in other labs change the gloves after touching other staff before the blood work. I think this could get your lab in serious trouble if not careful. They had plenty of early morning appointments available so my fast wouldn't have to last too much longer than my normal work start time and breakfast. I am 4 months pregnant, due for lab work to see the gender of my unborn child. I made an appointment last week for this location and received a confirmation code over the phone. When I arrived at the appointment I could not log in because I "missed" the grace period. My appointment was at 3, I arrived at 3:15, and the grace period was 15 minutes. When I scheduled to be seen standby, an associate came out and told me they were not taking anymore appointments and because I was late, I could not be seen. I tried to explain my situation but she continued to refer me to scheduling another appointment. I almost walked out and vowed never to set foot in a Quest Diagnostics again, but I turned around and waited to speak with someone else, maybe more professional and customer service oriented. OF COURSE NOT. I did find out that there is a glitch in the system and my appointment was never really solidified. Instead of the associate being apologetic and solution oriented, she continued to tell me about their new system which had been in place for two months now. I am so disappointed in the service I received today. The associates both acted as if I was an inconvenience to their day and that it was my fault their system has glitches. Unfortunately, everything is automated so I couldn't speak to an actual human being to help resolve the issue (aside from the two associates that were ready to go home). Needless to say, I will not be having my lab needs met at Quest Diagnostics, especially not at this location. Horrible, horrible customer service. read more

If you like people who waste your time this is the place for you. First of all, if you call the office you'll soon realize that it's impossible to speak to an actual human being. Their automated system runs you through a loop of messages that are no help to anyone. Next, if you decide to actually visit this hellhole you'll be hit with complicated maneuvers that serve no purpose to humanity. Their tests are expensive, their billing department is a total mess and they have no idea how prescriptions and insurance actually works. Do yourself a favor and head over to your local urgent/immediate care and get the lab tests you need done in a simple, non-complicated, and MUCH LESS expensive manner. The only positive thing I can say about this place is the nurses are at least competent enough to draw your blood properly. read more

I walked right in, located the suite quickly on the touchscreen, the pleasant doorman helped me into the elevator, I checked in quickly on the iPad up front, gave them the paper order from my doctor, and was called in less than 5 mins (Friday afternoon). The woman who drew my blood was very friendly, super fast, and totally painless when finding my vein. I was in and out in less time than it takes to get a burger at the McDonald's next door. This was by far my best experience getting blood drawn. I have extreme anxiety with needles and blood draws, to the point where I typically have a full panic attack complete with tears. I didn't this time. I received the prescription from my doctor for the Lab at 111 Wabash on the 15th floor. I looked online for their website, and learned that I could schedule my appointment online through a few simple steps. I got numerous emails with a QR code sent to my Junk Mail (that I monitor, because things like this always go to Junk Mail), and confirmation of my appointment date and time. I arrived at 7:15 AM on a Thursday, per my appointment details. On the front desk there was an iPad. It tells you to stand like 12 inches away and open the QR code on your phone via the many emails I'd received prior to arriving. I checked in at 7:05 or so, after being stopped in the Lobby to confirm where I was going. They confirmed I was heading to the right location and I went straight up. I checked in at 7:05 AM, and I was literally back out the door at 7:10. I was out of their offices 5 minutes BEFORE my appointment was even scheduled. In addition to being able to get me in and out super quick, the nurse was absolutely amazing. As I mentioned above, I have extreme anxiety about needles. I always cry. Always. She was by far the best I've ever experienced having blood drawn. I wish I had gotten a business card from her, and could hire her as my personal nurse to take care of any future blood draws I may need for the rest of my life. She was able to place the needle on the first go. I never felt the transition between test tubes. The only pinch I felt was when she was removing the needle, which is about as good as it gets. The entire time, she was talking to me about the holidays and other things to keep my mind off what we were doing. The only caveat I will say, is that prior to getting blood drawn, I drink a TON of water. I drink a 16 oz bottle of water approximately every 1.5 hours the day prior to draw, and another 32 oz of water leading up to my appointment. I try to make sure my veins are as plump as possible to help the nurses find them easier. read more

First time visitor to Quest Diagnostics. Had shopped around for the simple test price I needed and Quest was the cheapest so went there. Paid in full / what I was quoted until a month or so later when I received another bill almost as big as the first. Called up billing department and they said that actually I had a zero balance. A a month after that, I got the second bill again, which I just now paid after talking with a very unhelpful billing staff. Overall very disappointed with the billing staff, billing procedures and billing communication. Also, weird little rooms that weren't particularly clean at that office. Overall, not a great experience. That said, the results were accurate and timely, so if you have nowhere else to go and don't mind the rest, this place is fine enough. Very fast to get in-and-out of there, if you have all your paperwork ready. Note that this place requires a paper copy of the actual referral from your doctor for any tests. Otherwise you'll have to call your doctor's office and have them fax over the referral request. I also experienced that they rarely answer the phone. Honestly, you can do everything to set up and manage your appointment online anyway though. And if you have a billing question with Quest, they have a separate phone number for dealing with that... So the phone thing wasn't a big deal for me. I don't think they have a person working there who is dedicated to answering the phone or to do admin-work. That said, it is much much MUCH more economical to have your lab work done here instead of at any other place or directly at a hospital. If you don't mind making an extra stop before (or after) your doctor visit, this place can save you some money. The identical lab tests here overall were about half the cost of what they are charged at Northwestern, in my experience. The woman who took my info and drew my blood was super nice, kind, and caring. I'll be going back for my future tests. In this day-and-age of high deductibles and high out-of-pocket costs on most medical plans, it's nice to know of a place with reasonable prices for lab-work! read more

Two weeks later and no one can find results and apparently the number they gave me was a company in Bakersfield, CA. I cannot recommend this place. The telephone system is automated. As near as I can tell, there is no way to reach a human being by phone to ask questions or make an appointment. When I arrived, no one was in the waiting room and no one was behind the receptionist desk. I knocked on the glass windows and the two doors to the back but no one came. Finally, after like five minutes, an employee appeared. Although the employee's bedside manner was not great, she was not rude or inappropriate. However, she made me sign and print my name on a form stating she had properly labeled the vials containing my medical samples before she had actually labeled them. Not wanting to upset someone who was about to stick a needle in me, I did as I was told (and kept a close eye when she placed the identifying stickers on the samples later). On the positive side, my blood draw was done quickly and with almost no pain. Still, the whole office felt unclean, disorganized and unprofessional. In the room I was in: (a) a poster was falling off the wall; (b) stray materials were thrown across a couch; and (c) the chair at which the employee drew blood had holes in the vinyl (exposing the stuffing and a stain underneath). The bathroom was unclean, small and out of paper towels. The postiive aspect of no one being three when I arrived was that I was the first person in line. I really do not recommend this place. First, I tried to get an appointment so I called 10 times in 2 days. (This is not an exaggeration). It went to voice mail every.single.time. So I decided to just walk in. When I got to the front desk no one was there and I waited two minutes before I finally called, "hello?". A few moments later a less than enthusiastic tech walks up and gives me a bleary eyed look. Me:Hi, I have been trying to make an appointment and no one has been answering the phone for two days. Tech: Yup. (This was her actual answer) Me:Have your hours changed? Or was your phone broken? Tech: No one will answer the phone while we are servicing patients. Me: :Then how am I supposed to make an appointment if no one picks up the phone? Tech: *Shrugs shoulders and stares blankly at me* I wait only about 15-20 minutes to get my lab work done which was fine and I go into the room. There was something that did not feel clean about the entire place. When I go into any kind of medical facility I expect organization, clean floors, tidy medical instruments, etc. There was none of that. All the supplies were strewn onto the patient table which had pock mock marks where the cotton filling was coming out and stains on the surface. The plastic chair had dark stains and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and the walls were completely barren.Very "creepy psych-ward-horror-movie-esque." Here it gets a little TMI, so forgive me. I had to get a stool sample done (which you have to do at home and bring back). The tech gives me the half toilet bowl aperture and the sample cup in a CLEAR plastic bag with a "BIOHAZARD FROZEN SPECIMEN" label on it. Well as many Chicagoans will know, this is not a CTA visually acceptable bag to be carrying around. The lack of respect from the tech was incredible. Me: Hi, yea, I go on CTA to travel, so is there any way you can give that to me in a not-transparent bag?" Tech: Oh....ok. yea. "HEY, DO WE HAVE ANY NON CLEAR BAGS?" (yelling into hall) Other Tech: "YEA I THINK THERE ARE SOME IN THE LOCKER" yelling back She brings in a Qdoba sandwich bag....fine. Finally, She drew my blood quickly and efficiently which is the ONLY reason this place gets two stars instead of one. In conclusion, I have a chronic illness and have been in and out of medical facilities for almost a decade now and I can say without a doubt that this place has the worst customer service and piss poor attitudes I have ever seen. Quest as a company is horrible. They massively overcharge for simple tests and they find loopholes to get out of reducing the bill even if you have insurance. It's impossible to ever get in touch with anyone at the Quest main office because their automated phone system will leave you on hold for hours and they never respond to written or emailed correspondence. After billing me an outrageous amount and refusing to work with my insurance (who counts Quest as "in network" except somehow the branches in Chicago claim that they are not bound by that) I tried to get in touch with them and explain the situation. They never called me back or responded to my emails. Eventually they sent my situation to collections. I will NEVER deal with Quest again. read more
