My throat hurt like ****, and i felt like utter garbage. My clinic and internist were booked and i was due to get on a flight to Denver the following morning. Ugh. I googled and found Chicago Express Doctors. The doctor came in, gave me the strep culture which came back positive. He gave me an injection of antibiotics, which i had never had. He also gave me a steroid to decrease my swelling in my neck. He also gave me a Z-pack, sore throat rinse. I never had to leave the house! No runs to the pharmacy, no waiting in lines. IN-CREDIBLE.. i have had strep many times in my life, but never have i felt better so quickly! Honestly, the throat felt better within 3/4 hours. I was able to get on the plane the next morning, felt wonderful. All i can say is WOW. If only all docs did this. I just can't say enough great things about these guys. Fabulous A++++ thank you!!

I went to this Northwestern Immediate Care location in Chicago strictly for routine blood work as…read morepart of my annual exam. This visit was only for a blood draw. There was no consultation, no exam, and I did not see or speak with any doctor at that location. Despite this, a "doctor's visit" was billed at nearly $700. After insurance, I was still charged $321 out of pocket for a visit that never happened. I had to call several times and got only impolite responses saying that the bill was correct, although I was charged for a visit which never happened. Fortunately my primary care doctor, who is based at a different Northwestern location, helped escalate the issue, and their office manager was able to get the charge corrected. I appreciate their help in resolving it. However, the incorrect charge originated from the Immediate Care location itself, which is very concerning. Patients should not be billed for services they did not receive. Because of this experience, I would not return to this location and would not recommend it to others. This is not my first experience with Northwestern Medicine facilities charging for services I did not receive or billing twice for the same service. If it were not for my doctor-who is truly exceptional, takes time with patients, and provides outstanding care-I would avoid Northwestern altogether. Stay away and avoid problems.

Today I had the unpleasant experience of taking my daughter to the laboratory of this clinic, since…read morewe arrived and said good morning we were totally ignored by the ladies who work in the laboratory, ok I do not care and we wait our turn, the person who took the sample blood to my little daughter was very rude and rude to her, since she could not grab the vein in any of her arms, she proceeded to squeeze her harder with the rubber band and after she finally managed to get 3 tubes of blood she moved the needle abruptly to continue pulling and nothing came out, my girl began to cry and the Hispanic woman spoke rudely in English, without any kind of tact or empathy for being a girl. I really do not understand how such poorly educated people can have positions in places where they should be kind and empathetic. The worst in service!

As first-time parents who can be a bit anxious at times - all levels of staff from the front desk to the doctors have been warm, welcoming, and attentive which means so much! We have always felt that our concerns, no matter how small or large, are always truly heard by Dr. Sharma and everyone else we have interacted with. And when they thought it warranted a closer look, we have always received great options and referrals for additional care or screenings. Overall, we really appreciate the experience we have had and their commitment to children's health and well-being.

We waited weeks for a "sick appointment " and had an email confirmation. We arrived at the ncp 15 min before the appointment. And then the disappointment began. Front desk lady was so rude, told me to sign on the electronic pad even though she didn't tell me what I was signing. When I asked her , she almost yelled at me that she didn't have time to explain every single doc. Ok, I signed and then I was handed an iPad to fill out more docs (note that all the records and insurance info were already transferred before the visit) . Finished with the iPad and we moved to a room. To our surprise our doctor came and stated that he doesn't have time to see us because the appointment was made by the front desk as a "vaccine appointment ". The doctor asked us to wait for him so he can squeeze us in. We ended up waiting 1 hour and a half. After that another doc came in and said he has a few minutes to see if he can help. We politely declined since we didn't know him and the issue we went in for was pretty serious and it would've taken more than a few minutes. As we were leaving, I asked the lady at the front desk to remove the appointment and don't file an insurance claim since we weee not seen. She relied" we already removed you As a patient" . So no, I do not recommend this practice because of the front desk staff and their inability to do their job properly and respect their patients. Unfortunately, we had to part ways with the doctor that my daughter had since birth because of this incident. It's my impression that ncp see their patients as $ only and do not care about making them comfortable and heard as they are dealing with their health issues.

Dr. Ballintine is hands down one of the best doctors I've ever seen, and I feel so lucky to have her as my primary care physician! Someone once told me your primary care doctor should be like your healthcare quarterback, managing all your concerns and sending you out for referrals as necessary. Dr. Ballintine does just that, with quick and easy referrals to Northwestern when needed and most things managed in-house. She's helped me with everything from migraines and anxiety to infections and annual physicals. Working in healthcare myself, I know I'm a bit of a doctor snob. But Dr. Ballintine exceeds my expectations for what primary care should look like. She's thorough (but not overly so), personable, and remembers each of my healthcare issues (likely thanks to great documentation -- also a plus). Appointments are easy to schedule, and she's quick to respond to messages on the patient portal. Literally zero complaints. Bonus: Michigan Avenue Internists just recently moved to a new office, and it's BEAUTIFUL.
