The nurse practitioner, Matthew Yau, working Sun 10/30/22 was the rudest, most unhelpful medical professional I've ever encountered in my entire life. Literally hides in his office with the door closed, then acts surprised that a patient doesn't know to log into a kiosk that is completely dark and appeared to be off. Additionally, he told me that he wasn't sure the Typhoid vaccine is in stock. Is he not aware that patients can check if the clinic has the vaccine in stock when they schedule? Lastly, he told me the vaccine was not covered by insurance and $150. That was the most absurd and incompetent part of it all. I ended up going to Walgreens and it was covered by insurance. If you call Minute Clinic for help, they have their prepared list of answers (or excuses) and can not resolve anything over the phone. Plus, their phone reps are working from home. Minute Clinic advertised 24-48 hour turnaround on COVID testing. It's been 3 1/2 days since my nasal swab - still no results! I really needed the results within 48 hours -I had to cancel my trip to Africa! I waited at the airport, thinking the results should come any "minute" but that was erroneous thinking! When I called, all I got was an automated voice. I might not have minded quite so much if a real person had called and apologized but .... Yes, the Omicron variant has increased the burden on testing, I realize but they can only test and process so many people in one day but when they advertise 24-48 hour turnaround, you hire enough people to make it happen! read more

It's Impossible to contact MinuteClinic for help to resolve an issue. A covid test on 2/22/22 came back without results. The MinuteClinic 877 ph# prompts dont address my concern nor allow callers to speak to a representative. The website doesn't allow replies to messages. The message I received stated a representative would contact me to reschedule but none has. The CVS covid test instructional video clearly says and prints "put the vile and medical information in the bag." It does not mention putting the swab in the bag. This clinic saved my life! I have had some sub-par experiences at Minute Clinics in the past, but this go-round went swimmingly. I had been suffering from a sinus infection and could bear it no longer. Just a short walk from work, I was in and out in less than an hour including the walk both ways from Madison and S Wacker and waiting for my Rx refill! I don't think I would go here for anything major, as they are limited to the equipment in a room the size of my bedroom, but definitely perfect for colds and vaccinations. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this MinuteClinic! I was in town for a wedding and was not feeling well. I was able to make a same-day appointment at the MinuteClinic online. When I arrived, the PA was prepared for my arrival. She conducted a thorough and efficient examination and was able to identify my infection through a urine test. She clearly walked me through my options and provided me with a prescription that was quickly filled in the pharmacy. A few days later, when my more detailed lab results came in, she followed up with me via phone to explain the results. Minute Clinic 101 S Northwest Hwy Barrington. I really recommend this Minute Clinic. Dinara was the NP there and was super helpful. I had signed up for a tele visit when she called and saw I was one town over she told me I could come over and set me up with an appointment in10 minutes. I had an ear infection so it was good so see her in person. She also give me a flu shot. The clinic was very clean and safe. Their prices were also posted clearly. The clinic took Blue Cross Blue Shield but the pharmacy does not. Given that my doctor has a wait until January this is now where I am going to go for routine stuff. I also liked not having to wait in a waiting room. The Barrington clinic also seems to have more availability than others in the area. read more

I can't even give 1 star for the way I was treated. I was seen at the clinic in Braintree Ma for a bug bite that was red the Nurse practitioner said it was not infected just irritated and prescribed a tube of Hydrocortisone Valerate 0.2%. I had it filled at CVS Weymouth Ma. I went thru the drive thru and the person that came to the window was wearing a mask I misunderstood him to say this is $103.00 I gave him my charge even though I thought that was outrageous when regular Hydrocortisone is $4.50. when I got home 5 minutes later I realized it was $153.00. I called to say that was outrageous for Hydrocortisone that I only need to put on 14 times and they gave me 45 doses. I tried calling them and the pharmacy doesn't answer so I called the CVS Braintree where I was seen at the clinic they said there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't take it back even though the box is sealed okay I get that but at least give me a discount.The nurse called me and I said to her why didn't you just tell me to get over the counter for $4.50 and she said I thought you had insurance..WOW there was NO need for this 0.2% Hydrocortisone to be prescribed once a day when I could have used over the counter 1% two times a day for $4.50 for this small bite. this was overkill and never should have been prescribed. and when I told her it's 45 doses I only need 14 this was a waste her answer was you can save it if you get a rash or bites..I called corporate and they didn't care..I will never shop at CVS again or fill scripts there and I certainly will never go to their clinic again, The clinic cost me $130.00 and a tube of Hydrocortisone a whopping $153.00.."for an inflamed not infected bug bite it cost me $283.00" there was no need for that. I went in on July 6th for COVID testing told would get results in 2-4 days. On day 4 they changed it to 5-7 days. On day 7 they said 8-10 days. Day 10 still no results. Called minute clinic to only be told they have no way of getting the results in a given time frame and it's the labs fault because they are behind. I can agree that the lab is behind but minute clinic should not advertise when results will be available if they can not deliver on that. Worst customer service. Will not go there again. Not sure now if I can even trust the results if I ever get them since their system of testing and sending to the lab is so disorganized. I'm pretty sure that they lost them but wont admit to it. read more

The appointment was easy, I made it believing Minute Clinic was part of CVS Pharmacy, because they are in the same building under the same CVS banner, literally a few feet away from each other in the CVS building. The website for CVS pharmacy also has Minute Clinic within the same page with a link to make an appointment. Now I am being billed for the flu shot I got there, my insurance didn't cover their bloated bill, despite CVS Pharmacy claiming they would cover it fully, and their regular pharmacy covering flu shots in the past. This is false advertising, false enticement, gouging. Do not use Minute Clinic unless you plan to pay out of pocket. No sooner than I hit the last "enter" I was being seen. The exam was perfunctory but confirmed my own diagnosis - And, more importantly - SHE could prescribe what I needed to get rid of it!! * YAY * !!! So, I saw the nurse practitioner ... got my script ...and was back to work (at my desk) -- in -- an --- HOUR!! For those of you worried about missing work due to an impromptu bout of the creeping crud -- help IS out there!! I paid cash; however, they DO take most insurance! Sorry I had to give one star and not zero. Went online and scheduled an appointment as they are not taking walk up patients. Instructions said wait outside until we call you. After about 20 minutes I walked up to the store and a note is posted "wait outside until we call you" (because that's how sick people are treated here). So, I returned to my car and waited some more. After nearly an hour I went inside and was told they were closed today! Why on EARTH would you make appointments on a day that you are closed? Why would your web site not tell people "No appointments today, we are closed"?! You wasted my valuable time today but, saved me so much more in the future. Minute clinic? How about the wait-for-hours-and-never-get-fucking-seen clinic? I have a sore wrist and thought that it would be easier to take care of during a break from work rather than waiting over a week and taking off time to go to the doctor, but it seems that this CVS has zero interest in making my life easier. Yesterday I went to be serviced and saw the notice that the practitioner takes a lunch break from 1:30-2:30. I looked at my phone and realized that it was 1:45. Rats. So I decide to come back today around noon so I would leave enough time to be seen before they leave for lunch. Or so I thought. I get there and there are 5 people in front of me, which is understandable - it being lunch time in downtown Chicago. But that's not why I wasn't seen. As I waited the NINETY minutes in the land that ate my lunch break, no one was seen. People eventually started to drop like flies yet no one ever came out to take the next person. Then magically at 1:25 the Great and Powerful Oz emerged from behind the wooden door to announce that she was taking a lunch break and that we could "hang out" if we wanted to, but we probably wouldn't be seen until about 3:30. What in the blue blazes does she do all day? because seeing patients ain't one of them. read more

I'll admit it - I have no problems going to see health care providers. I don't abuse the system, and I'm lucky enough to be covered by my employer on health insurance. I'm in that group of young working professionals that rarely needs to see the doctor (if it's not broke, don't fix it), but if I do need to see one, I don't procrastinate, etc. So, since I'm traveling overseas in May with my girlfriend who has never been to Asia before, she took it upon herself as a fledgling soon to be first year medical resident to do the requisite research on what vaccinations are recommended for Taiwan. Since I was born there, I really have had no inclination in the past to get the list of shots. But since she was born in, gasp, Harvey, IL - she finds it of utmost priority. So. Hep A, Hep B, Typhoid, Tetanus were the main ones. I whittled down the list to just Hep A, Hep B, and Tetanus since I have no issues eating or drinking items that aren't served at major restaurants or hotels (remember, I was born there). And Tetanus I thought would be good too since my last booster was about 13 years ago. Although I am ok with going to the doctor's office, what I DO hate is the wait of the doctor's office. See, when someone tells me an appointment time, I expect my appointment to be at the pre-determined time. However, if someone says, "hey, it's first come first serve" my feeling is, "Fine, I don't mind waiting because there weren't reservations." It's simply something based on principle, so I looked at both the minute clinics (CVS) and take care health clinics (walgreens). Take Care health clinics don't offer Hep A, so that made the choice easy. Both accept FEP Blue, so hoorah. What a long assed preface. Location: 5 out of 5 Walking distance from my office. It's across from the Pompei Express. Yummy pizza, yummy vaccinations. Amenities: 4 out of 5 Amazingly, the waiting area looks better than some of the doc offices I've been in. Plus if you get bored, you can shop in the CVS. Wait time: 5 out of 5 Ding ding ding. I was the first customer today, no wait. You go into the self service kiosk, enter in some info, and just wait your turn. Information Exchange: 4 out of 5 I'm not really going to lie here. Since I've done my time pursuing a medical informatics master's degree, I'm not ultra interested in what goes on with patient info and privacy. Couldn't care less, actually. But I nodded and smiled and the APN explained all items to me. The little sheets of vaccine info weren't too helpful, but I do understand that the APN has to go through those with me. Quality of Care: 5 out of 5 Eh, I was just going to get vaccines but I was treated well. Since Hep A, Hep B, and Tetanus are all IM shots, I could only do 2 today. However, the APN also suggested I get the H1N1 shot, which I'll be doing when I go back to get my Tdap shot. (Yes, whooping cough is making a resurgence, so get that extra pertussis booster in the Tdap.) Aftermath: 5 out of 5 No allergic reaction, no bruising. Pricing: 5 out of 5 Since FEP Blue covers immunizations, no out of pocket expense. Not even a doctor's office visit co-pay, which was nice as well. However, Minute Clinic's website is VERY clear on what you pay for each service, so there's no ambiguity if you have to, or choose to pay out of pocket. Overall: 5 out of 5. If I need surgery, I'm going to a doctor. However, for all other quick issues, don't see why this Minute Clinic wouldn't fit the bill. Plus, they are open until 8:30 on weekdays. read more

OMG, this is the best doctor's visit that I ever had i my life! I had to get a tetanus shot for school and I needed somewhere quick and affordable. By reading such great reviews on yelp and since it was close to my school, I gave it a try. At first I was like CVS has a doctor's office??? I was very skeptical. The room reminded me of a small doctor's office. What surprised me was that my doctor was sooooo nice and soooo friendly, I just wanted to give her a big hug afterward. And the whole process just took 5 minute. I would've totally given a five star but since it was expensive than other doctor's office, I will give four stars. The tetanus shot without insurance was 76 dollars but I know that another office that I called said that it was 57 dollars but they were very rude. I am going to definitely visit again if I have some medical issues. read more

Developed another sinus infection. Didn't feel like dealing with a wait to get in to see my primary care physician. Walked over to the Minute Clinic and got right in. Had the exam, the consultation, and received my prescription, all in less than 20 minutes. Insurance covered it (Blue Cross), so all it cost was the regular office co-pay. Not sure why I've never done this before when I've had something so routine. Will definitely use them again in the future. read more

I've had a cold for a month now and figured it probably required some meds to get rid of. I walked in, sat in the waiting area maybe 15 minutes, and then was brought into the examination room. Dr. Salievska (the NP on duty) was fantastic...great bedside manner, asked questions and got business done all in 15 minutes. She looked at me thoroughly and was happy to answer all my questions. I'm so disappointed. Literally walked in a snow storm to get there 20 minutes before closing. Was told they closed 'all of the systems" 20 minutes BEFORE closing time, so I couldn't be seen. I explained that I was here for the week, out of town, and just needed to see a doc to get a few days' worth of a prescription for a minor skin condition (left my script 1200 miles away at home). Was told I was too late - they were closed. Such a bummer that this 'emergency' clinic closed 20 minutes BEFORE closing time. I've come to this MinuteClinic a few times since I started working down here. The NPs have always been friendly and courteous to me. In one instance I was dealing with a stubborn infection on my hand. After a couple of visits they helped me find an antibiotic that could make it clear up. Recently I had a bump on my back checked out to make sure it wasn't anything serious. This seems to be what they excel at. So disappointing. I had one COVID-19 test and there wasn't enough specimen so the test wasn't completed. No one called to let me know after waiting 4 days. After several attempts navigating the computerized phone system, I got a person who took my information for his supervisor. Supervisor called and told me the news and scheduled another test for that day. Now 5 days later, still no results. I called and was told no results and I might have something in 24-48 hours. So it might take 7 days?? Since my first test it could be 11 days. I really don't understand and would NOT recommend CVS Minute Clinic. read more

This reviews is NOT for this clinic. But rather for the horrible woman who answers the phone call on the 1-800 number for minute clinic questions and appointments. OMG, she talks like a robot, and is THE MOST UN-HELPFUL PERSON EVER! She told me all the places around Chicago were booked, when they were not! (I got a reservation online that I made after I was sick of dealing with her, that I made myself!) SHE IS THE WORST, and is a horrible person to represent CVS. I went here today to get some antibiotics for a painful emergency UTI. Went right when it opened at 8am--there were about 5 of us....the line moved quick, the nurse practitioner was super nice and helpful, and I made it to work on time at 9am! I recommend! (and it was so much more convenient to go somewhere by work, where I can be seen somewhere around the time when I wanted to, unlike the doctor's office where they can never get you in, and never at the day/time you want! What can I say...Wow! I arrived in Chicago for work and woke up with ear pain. I googled health clinics and this one popped up. I got to CVS / Minute Clinic at 8:15...with 5 people in front of me. The practitioner gave me a polite hello and told me about when I could expect to be seen. This was helpful so I was never in the dark. I went to Starbucks and hung out across the street until about my time. When it was my turn the practitioner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. After quickly taking basic info, she checked me out, diagnosed me, and...this was awesome...with a click of a button sent my prescription to the pharmacist inside the store. Within 10 minutes I was walking out, having seen a practitioner, with prescription, on my merry way. I can't say enough good things about this service. read more

This clinic isn't a replacement for a hospital or doctor's office in most circumstances... but it is a decent go-to when you just need a minor medical service like an immunization or basic screening test. You can walk in and get these things done without dealing with the doctor's office and paying an office visit fee. The Minute Clinic also offers diagnostic and examination services, but I wouldn't be comfortable using them for something like an illness or an injury. I'd see a real doctor for the serious stuff. But all I needed was a booster for a travel-related vaccine, and getting the original vaccine through my doctor had been an ordeal. I'd had to pay an office visit, get a prescription, find a pharmacy that carried it, and pay another office visit to get the shot. And my insurance didn't cover any of it because it was an optional vaccine. So I paid over $200 to get the first shot. Minute Clinic charged me $87 and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! They even sent record of the service to my doctor's office for their records. The clinic consists of a single room with a few chairs and diagnostic equipment - nothing fancy. They're not equipped for emergency care or anything complicated. But the nurse was friendly and made all of the sign-in and paperwork very easy. She even gave me good tip about reducing soreness after the shot! I'd definitely return to a Minute Clinic for something so simple as a single vaccine. read more

I would give it no stars if I could. I scheduled an appointment online for 3:20pm. I received an email saying wait in designated parking lot and I will receive a phone call when they're ready. 20 minutes later no call. I called the store and was told I have to wait for them to call. An hour went by I called again and was told they are agents and that I would have to call someone inside the store. I went inside the store and informed them I have been waiting a long time. They Asked me has it been at least two hours. I said yea and they told me they are different from minute clinic and gave me a phone number to call. Fed up with these unprofessional people I went to Med Express and did a walk in. Unfortunately I had to pay Med Express I was hoping for free testing since my funds have been low lately! CVS waisted my time, energy, and gas. I'm assuming staff left work early. I ran over to MinuteClinic, during my lunch break, and was back at my office in 45 minutes, flat! The doctor was super cool and nice, and even though I asked her a million questions, she was upbeat and personable. She was clearly knowledgable, and was able to answer all of my questions. They didn't take my HMO, which was kind of bummer, and the visit was a little over $100. But other than that, I got my rx sent straight to my pharmacy, during the visit, and I really had a great experience! Hope I never get sick, again, but if I do, I know where to go! read more

The service I got was great, but figuring out when someone would be able to help me was quite difficult. I went after the advertized lunch break of this Minute Clinic, but there was no one around. Even though the lunch break ended at 1:30 pm, there was a "Will Return At" clock that said 2:45 pm. I asked the CVS employees if that was a mistake but they said that the Minute Clinic operates independently and they didn't know the nurse practitioner's comings and goings. I waited till after 2 pm and then left for a different CVS. After no luck there I returned at 2:15 pm to the one at State and Adams to find that the nurse practitioner had returned. She was very nice and competent. I was able to get seen and get the vaccination I needed. So, a good result in the end. read more
