I have been going to this urgent care centre on and off for seven years. It's a safe and well run place. They know what they're doing. It takes less time than an emergency room, and even if you're paying out of pocket and have additional questions about something completely unrelated to the reason you randomly walk in for, each doctor respectfully takes the time to answer the question and if they can't they are quick to provide an appropriate referral. I always get there just before closing bc of work and I've never been met with anything but kindness... These guys are great and I think that collectively they could run a hospital. I came because of a rash on my arm. The clinic was dark and gross. The exam chairs were covered with what looked like a dirty black drop cloth made of t-shirt material. The doctor barely looked at my skin. It was too dark for him to see anything anyway. The only pro was that the nurse treated me with kindness. I hope she finds a better place to work. read more

On July 26, it was close to 7:00 pm when I called South Loop Immediate Care. They close at 7, and when I explained the injury, the helpful person on the phone talked to Dr. Kahn who said he would see the patient if he arrived by 7:30. How have I not written a review for Dr. Khan and the South Loop Immediate Care before? When I had had emergencies, I could always count on getting the right diagnosis and remedy. I had injured my foot, and I was able to get an x-ray here to confirm the damage that I sustained. Dr. Kahn gave me affordable options for a boot and some other things at the store next door. I also got an MRI at another location and it confirmed how badly I hurt my foot. On another occasion I got the flu, and sure enough Dr. Kahn didn't take long to see that I was suffering pretty bad. He prescribed me the appropriate meds and I was on the road to recovery shortly thereafter. I'm so glad that South Loop Immediate Care is around since it always seems like my regular doctor can't see me until the next day, which sucks. read more

Friendly, fast and intelligent. I came in with Shingles and they diagnosed it. Dr. Khan is wonderful! He wrote me 4 scripts and showed me the GoodRX app for finding the prescriptions for less since I was between healthcare plans. I was worried not knowing what was wrong. They saw me right away. Explained that during Covid stress they are seeing more of shingles cases also that there is a vaccine (Shingrix) that may prevent shingles or getting it again. South Loop Immediate Care is an urgent health clinic located off of Michigan in the South Loop area. You can make appointments online in advance, but the clinic seems to strictly be a first come, first serve, walk-in basis. With an appointment that was made 2 days in advance, the wait time was still over 40 minutes; so, making appointments is pretty much useless! Checking-in is via a tablet, where a patient fills out their information and medical history. There was only one doctor on-site when we went, who was Dr. Kahn. He took his time with each of his patients, which is nice to see, but that results in the waiting room getting backed up. He was pretty gentle and kind, and I also really appreciated in him taking the time to personally call for appointments with his referrals! There were a handful of med school interns there, so Dr. Kahn seems to be all about sharing knowledge and teaching - great to see! So my finger was pretty messed up and as I hate doctor, I was reluctant to go to ER. Thanks to my co-workers for their peer pressure, I finally went here even though I had my doctor appointment the next week. Long story short, I had a broken finger. And since I have a high tolerant against pain, I really didn't remember how I broke my finger. Anyways, the doctor recommended me to a hand surgeon at Rush Hospital. I had a good experience here and the doctor was really helpful in explaining what will happen in the hand surgeon. read more

While the staff was friendly and professional, I was a little taken aback by the set up of the office. This was my first time going to this office and I was expecting more of a doctors office look. Instead, the exam rooms are quite dim and they have a leather recliner instead of an exam bed. The rooms were equipped with medical equipment however it was stored in an unorthodox way. I believe first impressions are everything, and while the doctor seemed knowledgeable, the overall setting made me a little uncomfortable which dampened my experience. In all it is a good place to go for quick and minor ailments, and it is clear that a lot of people trust the work of the doctors as it was quite busy. read more

I was really encouraged by the number of 5 star reviews on this place. -start with entering the customary medical forms on a electronic pad of some sort... -there were three chairs up front, one for each of the doctors just sitting and playing on their phones. -had to use the bathroom...gross especially for a small doctor's office like this. I have been seeing both Dr. Khan and Dr Levites for 5+ years. They are kind and have helped me through all my medical needs from things like the flu to getting stitches. After one of my visits when I was very ill the doctor called me to personal follow-up and see how I was recovering. The office is very friendly and sometimes I am greeted by the doctor as soon as I walk in if it is not too busy. I recommend this urgent care for all your needs medically. For someone like me, going to see a doctor can be a daunting almost terrifying experience. However I would say that the Southloop Immediate Care is pretty phenomenal and quick. When you walk into the clinic you are given a computer pad to fill out your information which is a very organized way to get all of your info. As soon as you are done, the assistants take the pad and the patients are taken into a room very quickly. The rooms are very comfortable and have a different setup than most clinics however I would consider this a positive because the patients feel a lot more comfortable and this does not give that initial white coat anxiety which raises your blood pressure. The vitals are taken first and a preliminary assessment is done. The good thing is everything is automatic so the blood pressure, the temperature and the pulse are accurate and quick-super techsavvy! I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Khan and have to say that he really takes the time to get to know his patients and makes sure that all concerns are addressed. There have been a few urgent cares that say that they only look at one complaint at a time however Dr. Khan really takes the time to listen. He is knowledgeable and empathetic! Overall, I would definitely recommend this urgent care to everyone, you will not be disappointed. read more

A teeny tiny walk in clinic, however, more valuable and much needed than northwestern hospital or other big name hospitals! And much quite, which mean SAFE and less chances to get sick. Dr. Khan has incredible bedside manner that I have never seen on anyone, he was so calm and collected during this unimaginable and unprecedented pandemic, and practically saved me from collapsing, regardless the outcome of the treatment, I regained my faith and strength. I have been waiting for almost a month to find a good PCP, finally made an appointment with a NW physician then she canceled on me because of my cold and all other appointments, and chose to stay home during this most needed time. The summary for those that don't want to read my saga below - I was charged $350 ($310 after insurance discount) which my insurance didn't cover.... for a simple office visit seeing the doctor for just a few minutes - where his medical advice was " go to the hospital", Now on to the saga: About three years ago, I had bad stomach pains so I went to the south loop Immediate care. It was first thing in the morning, and there was no wait. They got me to fill out a long questionnaire, then took my vitals, then i met with the doctor. The doctor asked a few questions, pressed on my lower stomach and confirmed it was a probable appendicitis (hurts like hell when they push in that area) and that I needed to go to the emergency room. Less than ten minutes with the doctor. So I go off to the hospital, who confirms the appendicitis, admits me, and that night I have emergency surgery to have my appendix out. A few weeks after the surgery, I started receiving the bills from the hospital , the ER, the Doctor, the drugs, the hospital room, the air I breathed etc.. Insurance paid for almost all of it, and I then paid the remainder based on the revised bills (or so I thought). Three years later - i receive a call from an aggressive debt collector with no caller ID info demanding my personal information. Apparently, the insurance company had denied the claim three years ago (or so I was told) and the clinic is claiming they were never paid.... Its been about three years - I have no idea what insurance paid and what they didn't... and there is no way, I am going to be able to find out at this point. Looking at current bill, no late fees, no other fees - just $310 for a 10 minute doctor visit. No tests, no drugs, no prescriptions... just the 10 minute visit with the doctor. At least they still gave me the insurance discount off the full price... I really have no way of confirm if the debt is real at this point, but I paid it anyway. ---------------EDITS AFTER ORIGINAL REVIEW ---------------- After my review - they came up with a number of different stories....They seem to change their story frequently - so here is a recap of the history... First edit - They sent me an email offering me a discount if I pulled my comment... then a few hours after then email they added a comment that they have no record of Phil B ever being a patient and I must be trying to scam them. (they have posted similar comments to other criticism). 12/11 - Second edit... (in case they delete their comment again) They deleted their comment saying I wasn't a customer are now claiming I never paid.. (see screen shot of now deleted comment). 2/5 - Third edit... They are forgetting their previous comments... In Dec they said they have no record of a Phil B as patient... Now they have multiple patient with appendicitis from three years ago that went to collections and claimed to have paid in the month of December... REALLY???? read more

Zero stars. Unclean, dead bugs on window sill, cracked leather lounge chairs (i.e. unsanitary conditions) which is where patient care is delivered. Supplies haphazardly stored. I was misdiagnosed and prescribed medicine for pediatrics. They took NO vitals. I could have had a brain aneurysm and they'd have had no idea, didn't even listen to my heartbeat. Yikes. Paid significantly less to go to a different urgent care doctor for secondary treatment. This place perfectly sums the phrase "If it's too good to be true, it's because it is..." UPDATE: The business owner reached out to me offering a lower charge for the medical services I received. I applaud the gesture, however my balance was already paid in full. It's crazy that the business owner then accuses a former patient of fraud and posting a fake review. read more

A few days ago, I noticed my left hand thumb started to look weird. A day or so ago, it suddenly appeared that it was infected and started to sweel, feeling like it was going to pop. My doctor friend did me a favor and sterilized it, and created a small opening from where he drained some of the stuff in it out. After a day, it wasn't getting much better so I decided to go get some medical advice. Being that I'm currently between insurances, I didn't want to go to the ER and I didn't want to have to troll the streets for antibiotics. So, I decided to look into Urgent Care clinics and found one on 35th. However, they didn't take walk-ins (surprise, surprise) so I quickly pulled out my iPhone, and yelped nearby Urgent Care and stumbled across SLUC. I called, and immediately was connected to someone who told me to come right on over. We did, and got there and the place was empty. When walking in, we were told that SLUC does almost everything the ER can do, including setting broken bones, orthopedic issues, giving shots, dealing with infections and rashes. They told me that anything you could go to the ER for (that wasn't life threatening...so don't go getting stabbed or shot and try to go there)...they could handle. What a major win! Since I didn't have insurance, they gave me a 50% discount on a $220 visit, which came out to $110. I ended up getting an additional $10 off, bringing my visit to $100 even. That was great! To make things even better, they made sure that the antibiotics they prescribed were on the $4 list at Target and Walmart. They were nice, knowledgeable and friendly...and that's really what I need. When I get insurance, I'm still gonna come here, but in the meanwhile, paying $100 is ok with me to get A+ treatment. I just don't want too many people finding out about this place because then it'll become an overcrowded zoo... read more

After a cold turned into a wheeze turned into not being able to walk up half a flight of stairs without needing my asthma inhaler I decided to give this immediate care business a try. I checked out the reviews on here and made the leap--or drive really--to South Loop Immediate Care. Soooo glad I did. I was seen within 10 minutes, (and there were 2 people in front of me!), did a brief interview/blood pressure check that you usually get at the doctor and before long saw the doc himself who prescribed a course of antibiotics and steroids to help with my respiratory infection. I was in and out in 30 minutes. More importantly, I recovered nicely. Why do I like it so much? No wait. If I make an appointment with my regular doctor (which I tried, but was told they could squeeze me in the next week), I still wait longer than I did here. Also, they have tablets for you to enter your data, instead of killing trees and scribbling all your junk down on paper. BRILLIANT. Love that they utilize technology to make things easier. Highly recommend this. Love my regular doc when I have the luxury of waiting weeks to see her and taking an afternoon off work knowing it will be a 30-45 minute wait just to get into the exam room so that she can scold me for not taking vitamins or exercising enough or drinking enough water. . .. Next time I get sick though? I know where to go. read more

I have been here a few times. I actually plan to go tomorrow and was just checking hours when I realized I haven't reviewed them. Whenever I'm experiencing symptoms of a cold/flu, I go here and have had nothing but positive experiences. It's straight to the point, they listen and prescribe accordingly. Never a long wait. Last time I went here, the doctor went out of his way to recommend the most cost efficient medicine as well - he didn't have to, but he did. I had already gone to a Walgreens walk-in over a week prior, was misdiagnosed, charged significantly more and ended up having to seek help here anyway. I should've cut out the middleman and gone straight to these guys. Would recommend. read more

Dr Levites was great! It was my first time at SLIC and everything was very smooth. I did make an appointment for 9:30am (they open at 9:30am) and did have to wait outside for a few minutes but that was my own fault for being early. Like others have said, you go in, fill out some digital forms on their tablet and you're first seen by a (very nice) med student then the doctor himself. Turns out I had a sinus infection and was prescribed some antibiotics. It's a smallish office but very nice and inviting. I would return here. Very helpful and friendly staff. Dr. Khan was great. He took the time to diagnose my illness and gave me a good care plan. What I am annoyed about is the first year medical student that was working at the front desk and also saw me before Dr. Khan stopped in. After taking my symptoms and my temperature he proceeded to tell me that all I needed was rest and recovery and that I did not "look sick." With all due respect, if I have been ill since last Saturday and have been doing nothing but getting rest and using over the counter medication to aid this illness and it's not working why would I leave urgent care to do the same thing? I also hate going to the doctor so I wouldn't go for a little papercut and I'm hardly ever sick. Point is he came off as very dismissive. Then Dr. Khan came in, talked about my symptoms, and prescribed me a z-pack. The student had the nerve to question Dr. Khan's prescription right in front of me. He's the doctor, not you. I don't even think Dr. Khan paid it any mind, but if I was a doctor and had a medical student question my diagnosis in front of a patient, however small, I would be mad. I feel like that's something you ask after the patient leaves. I didn't think urgent care was a teaching hospital. Then as the doctor wrote me a sick note to excuse me from work, the student smirked. Like all I was doing was trying to get off of work. I have never and will never need a doctor's note to take off of work. If I'm sick, I'm sick. I have lived in the South Loop for 5 years and always used South Loop Urgent Care as my Primary doctors office. It is convenient to stop by on my way to and from home without an appointment and the wait time are reasonable if there is a wait at all. Dr. Kahn is awesome, the listens with concern to your issues and will work with you in trying to determine the best treatment plan as far as aggressive vs conservative. I have been here for a variety of different reasons and leave feeling like they really care each time. I also really like the tablet that you input your information on. So much easier and quicker than dictating to a person behind the counter. read more

I have been dreading going to the doctor ever since I got a PPO at work. Why, you may ask? Well because I'm an idiot and thought it meant I would be spending an arm and a leg every time I went. Duh, me. After Tweeting about it someone made me realize I'd only pay co-pay which is $20. Again, duh me! They had a lot of last minute appointments on zocdoc and when I called they said to just come on in. When I came in they handed me a really cool computer to register for the first time. The cool thing is that you can even pay your co-pay on there. Very nice and easy. A med student talked to me first and then the doctor came in. We talked a bit and realized after checking me out I had a sinus infection. Gross! But so happy I get meds so I can feel better soon. Great experience. Super quick and easy!! My only issue is that I totally would have preferred more of a sterile environment. I sat in a room with a leather chair and a small table. Kinda odd. Not very doctor office like. I'm quite the germ phobe so I would have enjoyed a nice sterile sheet to sit on haha. read more

How have I not written a review for South Loop Urgent Care Clinic is beyond me. I have been a patient for this clinic since they have been in practice. I myself have have been in medicine for many years....but I am now retired. All I can say is that there aren't 2 other Physicians that understand and treat patients with dignity and respect like Dr. Khan and Dr. Levitas . You will not find any better medical provider's then you would at South Loop Urgent Care Clinic. I am privileged to be a patient of their's. read more
