I have mixed feelings about this urgent care. This urgent care came highly recommended to me from a…read moretrusted friend, and I sought it out while having some strep-like symptoms. The biggest pro is that everyone is very personable, and the MA & doctor both had excellent bedside manner. It was genuinely a good experience while I was being looked at. The biggest con is the wait time. I initially walked in around 9:30am, hoping to be looked at 10-10:30am and make a work meeting by 11. However, I waited until nearly 10:30am (an hour later) and ended up leaving because I had to go. I returned with a booked appointment for 12:30pm, and I wasn't looked at until almost 1:45pm. Numerous people that arrived after me were taking in first, and I'm not sure why -- maybe it was a triaging thing. This is a great place to get your immediate/urgent care done, but note that it's not really immediate. If you can find a way to kill the time, you won't be disappointed. However, if you plan to be in and out, you may need to consider another location.

My throat hurt like ****, and i felt like utter garbage. My clinic and internist were booked and i was due to get on a flight to Denver the following morning. Ugh. I googled and found Chicago Express Doctors. The doctor came in, gave me the strep culture which came back positive. He gave me an injection of antibiotics, which i had never had. He also gave me a steroid to decrease my swelling in my neck. He also gave me a Z-pack, sore throat rinse. I never had to leave the house! No runs to the pharmacy, no waiting in lines. IN-CREDIBLE.. i have had strep many times in my life, but never have i felt better so quickly! Honestly, the throat felt better within 3/4 hours. I was able to get on the plane the next morning, felt wonderful. All i can say is WOW. If only all docs did this. I just can't say enough great things about these guys. Fabulous A++++ thank you!!

I went to this Northwestern Immediate Care location in Chicago strictly for routine blood work as…read morepart of my annual exam. This visit was only for a blood draw. There was no consultation, no exam, and I did not see or speak with any doctor at that location. Despite this, a "doctor's visit" was billed at nearly $700. After insurance, I was still charged $321 out of pocket for a visit that never happened. I had to call several times and got only impolite responses saying that the bill was correct, although I was charged for a visit which never happened. Fortunately my primary care doctor, who is based at a different Northwestern location, helped escalate the issue, and their office manager was able to get the charge corrected. I appreciate their help in resolving it. However, the incorrect charge originated from the Immediate Care location itself, which is very concerning. Patients should not be billed for services they did not receive. Because of this experience, I would not return to this location and would not recommend it to others. This is not my first experience with Northwestern Medicine facilities charging for services I did not receive or billing twice for the same service. If it were not for my doctor-who is truly exceptional, takes time with patients, and provides outstanding care-I would avoid Northwestern altogether. Stay away and avoid problems.
