If I could give this place negative stars I would. I just left this location. I was having shortness of breath symptoms. They couldn't verify my insurance(Blue cross blue shield) on the "weekends" They made up a price that I would have to pay. Unfortunately I didn't have the money to pay that price so I had to leave. Hmm mixed feeling about this place . The wait time was surprisingly short for a Friday night and the girl that checked my blood pressure and vitals was very friendly. Assistant told me they were going to hurt me before she tried to take my blood unsuccessfully and immediately gave up. I called just now to request my referral which I was told would be emailed to me. The front desk person hung up on me after my second time finally getting through to them after being on hold for 10 minutes. Came in here a few months ago, but the positive experience I had here still pops in my head often. Almost no wait on a Friday morning, loved that they have a parking lot for patients. What stood out the most, though, was the medical staff. My nurse/medical assistant, and PA Lindsey Ashley, made up one of the kindest and thorough medical encounters I've ever had - and I've had a LOT. They confirmed my (first) pregnancy here and were so sweet, and ran all the initial bloodwork I really needed, and gave me some wonderful advice. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Had usual symptoms of a UTI except with heart palpitations, stiff joints and vomiting. Went there on a Sunday 3 weeks later I still have a UTI. They put me on one antibiotic for a week that worked so when i called back they switched the antibiotic. This one made me vomit and some symptoms reappeared. So I called again put me on a different antibiotic and my symptoms went back to how I felt in the beginning. So right now I've tried calling left messages to no avail. Oh, now you have to pay $120 no matter what insurance you have. They did mention I might have to come in for another sample and another $120. read more

Incompetent staff. I'm a registered nurse. I came into the facility for a simple N-95 mask fit test. The technician Addison filled out the respirator fit test form incorrectly. My document was rejected by my employer. I went back to the facility the next day and rather than filling out a new form; the staff edited the form so it appeared as fraudulent documentation. My per diem shifts were cancelled because of the mistake of the staff at Physician Immediate Care 121 W North Ave. It took my employer 3 weeks to receive my medical records. The records department were non-responsive to requests made to send my medical records to my employer. The staff sent my medical records from email addresses and fax numbers that were inconsistent with number listed to represent Physicians Immmediate Care. My employer called to verify the fax number and the manager told her the fax number was incorrect. The team as a whole at Physicians Immediate Care 121 W North Ave are incompetent to say the least. I slipped on some ice and broke my ankle. They were able to see me with no wait at all. The doctors and staff were great! They took X-rays and put my foot in a splint. They were so friendly and helpful. So much better than waiting 5 hours at the ER! So glad this option exists! read more

I first went here on 7/3/20 for a rapid COVID-19 test. I had to wait in line, they got me registered and told me to come back later. That's fine. When I came back the process was seamless. You wait in your own room until your results are ready. The MD came in and let me know I was negative and handed me two pieces of paper stapled together. The top paper also said I was negative. Great, I'm relieved and leave. 7/6/20 I looked at the second paper as I was cleaning out my purse just to see what it said. It was some guide about what to do if you test positive. I called the clinic back immediately and made them reconfirm my results. Apparently, they gave me the wrong second paper but my results were correct. They checked twice. This triggered extreme anxiety all week long so I went back again on 7/10/20 to retest and get a general checkup. It was confirmed that I was completely fine, clear lungs, no issues. I was given a prescription to help calm my nerves. When I got to the pharmacy this evening, the pharmacist said she couldn't fill my Rx because my name was spelled incorrectly and my gender wasn't correct either. They tried to call Physicians Immediate Care and they were closed so I have to hope they're open tomorrow and can write me a new Rx to be sent to the pharmacy. The past week has been a complete mess and I will never tell anyone I care about to go to this practice. read more

My friend was doored on her bike with a potential concussion. When we walked in we were NOT greeted by the front desk attendant, who was trying to fix a small printer. We got her attention and asked if she could help us and she told us "just a second" and hollered at a co worker to help her fix her printer. She made no effort to communicate with us-- not even "I'll be right with you." I communicated that we needed care with a potential concussion and she said "okay" and continued to work on her printer. I stumbled across this facility a few years back when I came down with a common illness. I chose this Immediate Care out of convenience. It was close to where I live. I have visited plenty of Doctor's offices in my lifetime. Little did I know, that I would come to meet such an amazing team of professionals. I was so impressed with my visit and the entire staff that I made Dr. Gazzi my Primary Care Physician and I have been under her care for years now. She is simply a fantastic Doctor that always puts her patients first. She takes the time to truly understand her patients. She is as genuinely caring as she is incredibly knowledgeable. She has taken great care of me over the years. I have recommended her to family and friends. I am so grateful to have her as the lead of my own personal healthcare management team. The entire staff at the Physicians Immediate Care in Old Town is top notch. They are so welcoming, caring, knowledgeable, accommodating, and kind. Every single time I go there it is the same. I have not written a review of a professional service up until this point, but in this case, with prompting from my wife, I feel the need to do so. I visited this location since it is literally two blocks from our home, and I thought it would be an inexpensive exam. While the receptionist was friendly and professional, and I didn't wait long to be seen, the exam and results were really quite poor. The nurse who delivered me to the examination room was pleasant, but her examination was cursory, and made me 100 times more nervous about my condition than need be. The reason I visited the office was due to tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, but after a very unusual blood pressure reading, far higher than I have ever seen in my own medical history, I was alarmed something might be terribly wrong. By the time the doctor entered the room, I was tremendously nervous. She did a very short exam, with little detail. She appeared to listen to my explanation of how I might have come to experience ringing in my ears, and thus, provided a prescription for an antibiotic. In addition, she said that since my blood pressure was so high, "If you experience any chest pain, call an ambulance immediately." They made me terrified that I could die at any second, it was horrifying. When I got home, I read their conclusions, which stated wrongly, "Undiagnosed Hypertention." I immediately took out my own sphygmomanometer, aka blood pressure monitor, and measured my blood pressure ten times in a row. My blood pressure was routinely around 116/65, not the insane 170/92+ that Physicians Urgent Care had concluded. With a reading as high as they got on their equipment, they should have immediately referred me to the closest emergency room. I was relieved after taking my own blood pressure, but to make sure I was doing OK, aside from the tinnitus, I made an appointment with my doctor. My doctor gave me a full physical, took the necessary urine sample and drew blood. My blood pressure was 137/82, due to nerves, which he noted as "White Coat Hypertension." Normal is typically considered 120/80. My blood work was exceptional, with cholesterol of 177, and "no evidence of diabetes or pre-diabetes." My doctor said "Your heart is exceptionally strong and in great shape." He listened for washing or murmurs, and said "You have none." He concluded I am in superior health, with no sign of hypertension. My heart rate, how many times my heart beats a minute, is anywhere from 52-62 beats a minute, depending on nervousness and stress. In other words, I have the heart of an athlete, which is the product of extensive physical training and being a committed runner for over three decades. The bill from Physicians Urgent Care was astronomical for such a poor exam, and the bill, which said "This is Not a Bill," stated that I should contact them if I did not want them to charge the card I used to check in to my appointment, for this "Not a Bill" amount. A few days later, they billed my card for the full amount, which was several hundred dollars. All in all, I would never visit this office again, and do not recommend them for any medical issue, regardless of how pressing they might seem. A poor experience. read more

Billed my insurance company $210 and then me $290. This was in no way shape or form a $500 service or appointment. Let me start off by saying... I very much dislike going to doctors offices and will do anything and everything in my power to avoid it. However, when it came to the point where my body decided to take all it's anger out and strain me so much that I can no longer maintain the strength to hold a pint of beer, I was forced to look for a doctor. I needed something quick and hassle free, and here that's what I got. Went on the website, was able to register my information beforehand (which is awesome since most of the time spent at doctors offices is filling out these applications), and walked in with no appointment Sunday morning. Thought it would be packed but no one was there and the gentlemen at the front desk got everything going right when I walked in. (I was nervous and couldn't answer him properly when he asked me what I've come in for....) Just had to fill up a few things about my medical history sign here sign there and about 5 min in my name was called. The assistant did all the quick checkup so told him what's wrong with me, and then 5 more min later Dr. Horner was there to see me. He checked what's going on while we chit chatted, and the next thing I knew he diagnosed me and told me what medication I would need. Everybody was super nice here and they're good at what they do. I was out of there in 20 minutes, got what I needed. (Walked right over to the walgreens across the street to get my medication) This was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I now know where I need to go if my body ever decided to rebel again. read more

I went here right when they opened today for a sinus/ENT issue. Showed up just before 8a, filled out my form, and was called in in less 15 minutes. Front desk was so nice, reception area was very clean. Free granola bars and water bottles available as well. Doctor was very nice, accommodating to all my questions, and even sent me home with a homeopathic cold remedy of sorts (in addition to a nasal spray sample and all the prescriptions I needed). I am incredibly disappointed that I came here and even more disappointed in the care that I received. I came in with what I thought was an ear piercing infection because my ear lobe was swollen and red and had some yellow discharge. I arrived at the clinic, and probably the only good thing about my experience was that the facility seemed clean and that I was seen right away. The nurse took me back and took my vitals, and she told me to take the earring out. I politely said I would not because rule #1 with infected piercings is to NOT take the earring out because the piercing will close and lose its ability to drain, forming an abscess under the skin. I explained this to both the nurse and the doctor, and they didn't push the issue, but I could hear them rudely talking about me outside of the exam room. When Dr. Tatiana Batista came in to see me, she seemed nice enough, and she pronounced that the piercing was infected. She prescribed me an antibiotic, and she also, not so gently, took a culture of the pus by squeezing it out of my ear lobe. The pain was overwhelming and made me woozy, so I laid down on the table. They brought me water, but the nurse came back a few minutes later with my prescription and told me I could leave. Not one person asked if I was feeling better or told me I could stay a few more minutes if I needed to. Still lightheaded, I got up and left, and took a lollipop from the basket on the way out which prompted the receptionist to condescendingly talk to me in a baby voice: "Did you get a lollipop for not crying?" I am insulted by the service I received here, and it only gets worse: I arrived back home about 20 minutes later and upon cleaning my piercing, I noticed that my ear had swallowed the back of my earring. The Dr. specifically looked at the back of my ear and didn't say anything! I consider this to be the equivalent of intentionally causing me harm and encourage everyone to never go here for care because you'll walk out with a prescription and nothing more. As it turns out, my piercing wasn't infected at all. I went promptly to a piercing parlor where they told my my ear was not infected at all. The piercing professional quickly and painlessly removed the back of the earring from inside my ear and thoroughly cleaned the ear for me. Two days later (after not taking the antibiotic) my ear is 100% better, all thanks to the service I received from the piercing parlor FOR FREE, not because of the poor service I received at Immediate MD after a $50 co-pay. I'm dreading the bill I will receive from them later for the needless culture they took. read more

I am giving it 4 stars for what it is. Of course, no one enjoys going to a doctor or paying for one especially without health insurance for things that aren't an emergency or serious. However, that's not a reason to deduct stars. I had to have a pre-employment physical done. Essentially, I paid $55 to have my blood pressure taken which I could have done at home for free. "Do you feel ok?" "Yup." "Physical passed!" Immediate MD was the easiest, least expensive, and quickest option in Chicago and their office is close to the Clark/Division stop. I was in and out in 30 minutes or so. I deducted a star, because they weren't sure if the price of the physical increased and wanted to charge me more. $55 to take my blood pressure and you want more? read more

I felt like my concerns were addressed and taken seriously by the staff. Woke up and knew I had strep throat. Called to make an appointment and the friendly woman said I can walk on in. Living just a few blocks away, this was very easy! I filled out a few papers, had minimal wait (~10mins) with a comfy waiting room. Then I met the medical assistant and Dr.Valdez. They were both so pleasant. They listened to me and also made me feel comfortable and not so sterile like doctors offices can often feel like. As someone who works in healthcare, I really appreciate the staff, efficiency, and friendly smiles. Not to mention they followed up the moment I called in with questions.
