I've returned to Queretaro many times since my last review, but my last visit was disappointing. The service was great, but the food was just so-so. I asked for their homemade hot sauce with my burrito and was warned that it is spicy. I would have rather been warned that I'm going to be charged $1.50 for 2 tablespoons of a condiment that should be free! We also asked for a side of sour cream, which I expected to pay for, but the amount you get for $1.50 is ridiculous. They buy it in bulk! I can see charging, but we were spending a lot on drinks and food, and getting charged for hot sauce and sour cream? Folks, you need to learn how to take care of customers. May have to head to Taco Bell! read more

Went there for lunch the other day to check it out since its new. OMG, the food was horrible! The salsa tasted like pureed tomatoes with very little spice to it. I had to add salt just to help add some flavor to it. I ordered the pozole soup, which was pretty good. For my lunch entree I ordered the burrito "inside out" (basically I wanted everything in the burrito in a bowl and the tortilla on the side. I got half steak and pork. The steak was dried and poor quality, the pork was shredded and fried way too hard! The meat WAS NOT juicy, flavorful, or tender. Just plain, dried out, and tasteless. To sum it all up, the burrito was UNEVENTFUL! The refried beans tasted like they put sugar in it because it had a significant sweetness to it, YUCK! How can one mess up beans? Really? The rice was so plain, I must have missed it because I asked my server if they forgot to add the rice. She said it was there on the plate. I was disappointed and i probably wont give them another chance. But the pozole soup was good. Maybe I will go back and get a up of soup. read more

To start, we had called ahead multiple times to make and also to confirm a reservation for a large party and they still didn't have our table ready when we arrived. They did try to sit us at two separate tables which was unacceptable as our family came together to eat together. We do understand covid has limited capacity and distanced seating, however, if that we're an issue it should have been brought up to us while making the reservation. Nonetheless, it was resolved and the food was SO delicious. The drinks, excellent. The service, perfect -- not overly attentive but we didn't feel neglected either, just right! COME ONE, COME ALL! If LACKLUSTER Mexican is what you're looking for well, look no more! You've found it. Tables were sticky and didn't seem to be cleaned properly. Covid anyone? Fruit margaritas were their special on the day I went (strawberry and blueberry were my choices) and I chose strawberry. Surpriseeee! Got graced with an ORANGE margarita! Yum. *insert eye-roll here* Didn't ask to switch cause even this early in, I could tell I shouldn't expect much more from this place. (I drank this entire 12oz margarita and felt absolutely nada. And I'm a light weight.) Shrimp tacos were not made per the menu. But I mean, it's my fault. I should never have wanted something the way the menu states it'll be. Ordered kids nuggets and fries for my child and the nuggets were the Dino nuggets from the grocery store. Not complaining cause my kids love those but we have those at home. Rice and beans were colder than the hot plate they were on. Service was such a snore! Acted like they didn't need our money even though the lack of people showed that they do. We eat here for lunch, the food is always good. This time I got the lunch shrimp fajitas and took half home. It comes with beans, lettuce, sour cream, pica de gallo and tortillas. My husband gets one beef and one chicken enchilada with red sauce, rice and beans. The food is always hot and freshly prepared with a little crunch still in the onions and peppers. At lunch, we typically seat ourselves and are promptly waited upon. The time between placing our order and having it arrive at our table is 10 minutes or less. I get where some people enter the restaurant and are not sure what to do. May I suggest, next time go to the bar and ask where you can sit or if it is not super busy just pick your table. You are missing out on good food and healthy portions. The only dish I had that I was not thrilled with was the Tacos al Pastor, it was too heavy on the pineapple. Great service, great food, great ambiance. My new go to Latin food spot around here. Fresh food and lots of variety on their menu too. I had carne asada tacos and they were loaded with meat. The service on a Saturday evening was by far the best service I have had at a casual restaurant. Decor is cute too and I really liked how they did the waiting area with the double doors leading to the inside for those cold nights no one will have to stick with a cold seat in the winter. read more

Service was great, it did not take long at all to get seated and have our server ask us for drinks. They do ID for alcohol! Server was nice, very helpful, and knew his menu. I had ordered a peach piña colada which was amazingly great! My husband ordered a sex on the beach and was great for him also. For dinner I ordered Fajita Chicken with special accommodations and they did as I asked. The chicken is not what I expected the cut but flavor wise it was great. Good amount of food especially chicken portion was great. My husband ordered a shrimp chimichanga and was satisfied was taste and portion; however, too many veggies and hardly any shrimp. Second time dining here and service was questionable at best, we were seated at 6:15 and food order was not taken until 7. We sat til 8 watching food be delivered to other tables when we realized our order had never been put in. Once we spoke to the waitress the food arrived but it was the wrong food - took about 15 minutes to get her attention. She was not happy about bringing me the right meal and my friends beef quesadillas that she requested instead of chicken. We each order two drinks, second drink order was wrong. With all the complications I would have expected something to be comped on the bill. But no such luck. This place is just middle of the road for me. Food is ok, but somethings are just not great. Chile rellanos are good, but the tacos and quesadillas are not great. Margaritas are good. OMG, the food here is incredible! My daughter had the Enchiladas Suiza she described the chicken as tender and very flavorful, one of the best enchiladas she's had. At the suggestion of the host, my wife and I split La Delicia..this came with Arrachera, grilled chicken, pork and shrimp..entirely too much food, but who's complaining!lol The best part of this dish is it comes with a bowl of melted white cheese and chorizo and a healthy serving of guacamole..a keto dream. I was really hoping I would love this restaurant-- it is close to my daughters house and they deliver-- unfortunately my meal had too many issues. At first I was impressed with the quantity of food. I ordered the carne asada because I've had it at other restaurants and had really liked. However, this platter did not live up to expectations. There was a lot of steak but it had so much gristle and fat that only half was edible. It was also not flavored in any way that I could discern. The carne asada I've had in the past was pounded thin and spiced wonderfully. The platter had some onions that looked like large scallions and some cactus which was odd and mushy and did not taste good. I chose the pinto beans and they were the best part. They were like spicy re-fried beans. No one in our group raves about their food so I assume they didn't love or hate it, but I will let them write their own reviews. Overall I think that with some work this entree could be good but they definitely need better meat. Maybe I will try them again in a year or so to see if anything improves but for now I'd say give this place a pass. Cheers read more

This is my second best Mexican restaurant being Mi Casita the first and of course, both are from the same franchise. You can either find their employees in one or the other restaurant. Love when they recognize you when you go out to eat. There is a third restaurant but is not as good as these two. My opinion. Good service, good food never had a complaint from them. When I have friends visiting and ask for Mexican food I bring them here, no complaints, they leave the restaurant happy. Just my opinion. Remember that latino people use a lot of condiment and you might find the food a little bit salty for your taste just ask for no seasoning in the food. I have had the Cadillac Margarita, mmmmmmm, the taco salad with grilled chicken (no seasoning on the chicken), the chicken soup (caldo de pollo) very good, it comes with two meat taquitos, my husband has tried the seafood chimichanga. The place is nice but not big enough for a large group unless they close the restaurant for the activity. Lucky if you find a parking spot in front of the restaurant, the rest of the parking space is located in the back of the location which also you can enter from the back side. read more

If you're looking for a quieter environment and much friendlier, faster staff, head to the one in Crofton, Mi Casita. Queretaro's food is amazing, but I was not impressed at all with the service and entire wait staff. It was very busy but that's no excuse for unfriendly service. Our server wouldn't stand at our table longer than 5 seconds and would walk away when we were in the middle of a sentence. It took 5+ minutes for us to be greeted. The food runner practically threw down the food on our table he was so rushed. Obviously restaurants get busy, but either hire some extra help or train the staff to better handle rush times so guests feel welcomed and heard. read more

Last night was actually my 2nd visit in less than a month. That alone is already saying something. Fast service and good food. They have an extensive menu and drink list. I kept it simple, and got a taco, enchilada and chicken quesadilla. I absolutely loved the quesadilla it was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The price wasn't bad either as my meal was $9. I didn't give them 5 stars because both times I felt a bit rushed. I'll give them 1 star for the food because 5 would be too much since the service sucks! I was there as a party of 2 and waited 10 minutes for the server to come to the table. I asked for a menu which he brought back and threw on the table and left to attend to the other tables that already had drinks and food. When he returned I politely asked him would the service be this way and he said he had other customers. Well, aren't we customers too??? Anyway, I explained that our chips were burnt and we were not given a full container in which he told me to look around they were all like that. Uhhhh..,NO!! I've dined here before and this is not what is normally given. Secondly, I'm not looking around at no ones table I want what I'm supposed to have as a customer at the restaurant. He continued to be dismissive and I told him we would leave and he replied, "Ok, bye!" Smdh really?!? I so wanted to tell him that while you're being attentive to the white customers and we're of color my money is just as good as theirs and we tip well based on the service provided and most times even if it's not but...he missed out. The manager was notified and offered a new server but at that point I was not willing to give them any of my money.
