Come on La Mesa peeps, let's keep this place in business!! I wanted a deep tissue massage and for $45 for 60 minutes, it was a great deal. A little unusual in that Linda used many parts of her body to really get deep but I'm fine with that. She was up on top of the table in order to get sufficient leverage to get really deep. It hurt so good! The place is clean and looks nice on the inside. There is some chatter between the employees and since the hot towel warmer was in the room I was being worked in others came in to get hot towels for their clients. I didn't care but can be a little distracting for those who have a hard time relaxing. I already scheduled my next massage for 90 minutes. I will be a regular at this place. read more

I have been going to see Gina for almost a year now. She gives the best massages. She finds all the knots, and kinks in your back, neck, and legs. I usually get a deep tissue massage. She is very affordable. She charges $45/ hr. I usually tip her at least an extra $10. I usually call and set an appointment. Finally a place that knows what they are doing. I really hope this place stays open, because you can't beat the prices and the massages are awesome, there is no other way of putting it. I was a little skeptical at first from the front. But TRUST ME, this place is legit. They really worked my legs, back and everything. This was the worst massage I have ever gotten. I don't understand how they can even be in business. From the jump it was unprofessional and uncomfortable. You're literally right by the front desk where they check clients in or more like ignore the clients. With an overly large and annoying cow Bell on the door going off everytime someone comes in. The massage was horrid. Felt like a 5 year old was attempting to do it. Through out my entire massage people were walking in and out. Talking and laughing and being completely loud right by the bed I was on. At least 5 people exchanged conversations while I was trying to relax. The massage was so bad I couldn't wait for it to be over so I can leave. Didn't even last an hour. She walked away in the middle of it for about 10 minutes to go who knows where. I will never come back to this establishment and they should be embarrassed that this is how they conduct business. read more

I've used this place a few times because it's so close to my house. Unfortunately I've found the massages to be substandard. Today I went in for foot reflexology. An employee was sitting in the lobby having a snack and watching some movie or show on her cell phone. I asked if I could get a foot massage and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. In fact she looked reluctant to stop what she was doing. Then she asked me for cash. 05/24/2014 I have been going to Queen SPA for the last few months. Each time I'm more and more disappointed. The masseuse' constantly walk out during the session to attend to other customers. It's annoying and not at all relaxing. One time I waited on the massage take for six minutes (when your naked on a massage table with nothing else to do the clock becomes amusing) she counted those six minutes into my paid hour! The massages have progressively gotten worse. During my last session I heard a guy loudly moaning! Totally ruined my massage and not to mention I'm not sure how sanitary everything is. She pulled out a warm rag from a steamer, who knows how long that's been in there and how many other people that rag had been on. Queen SPA has lost a customer. I will not be returning. I was a little skeptical about Queen Massage, but it's conveniently located near my home. I had seen some of the other reviews and decided to go in anyways. I'm glad I did. The masseuse was really nice, and I called in advance to make an appointment. The massage was amazing! It actually relaxed me so much it put me to sleep! Recently opened massage business next to 24 Hr. Fitness on University. I have gone to see Gina twice now for a 1 hr. massage. Gina does a very good job for a mere $40 dlrs. Since it is new, there are very few clientel in there right now but suspect that as the word gets out the business will increase. I went here with my boyfriend for a couples massage. It was really nice. They had a room set up for us to get the massage together. Gina was great from what my boyfriend said. Nancy did my massage. It was nice, but i wish she would have worked a lot more on my problem areas. It was a deep tissue and i still walked away with a lot of pain. Its been a few days and i am still hurting. Walked-in with a sore neck and back and came out feeling like a brand new person. Asian massages are very different compared to a deep tissue spa massage. This place was kind of in between those really painful ones that mostly Chinese guys work at in malls and a conventional day spa. She's a little rough with her movements but it was really effective and that's exactly what I was looking for. They do recommend tip amounts which I didn't mind because she did such a awesome job. They do prefer cash and appointments but do charge cards with a $1 service fee. Small place not many employees and the rooms aren't completely private you can basically hear what's going on outside in the lobby area, but the price was great for the quality. The first time I went to Queen Spa, my first impression was it wasn't clean or professionally run. I was uncomfortable undressing and laughed out loud when they gave me a tiny dish-towel to cover my backside! However, I ended up with a good 60-minute massage and it went without a negative incident. On my 2nd visit, Gina the massage therapist and manager, kept taking phone calls and it disturbed me greatly. Then, my mom bought me a Gift Certificate, so I went a 3rd time. In absolute shock, Gina refused to honor the Gift Certificate. My mom is a senior on a fixed income and it was very generous of her to drive all the way to La Mesa to buy this gift for me. Gina kept saying (over and over) it didn't match her 'book' of recorded certificates. Like my mom stole it and gave it to me! My mom spent her limited money to purchase and they wouldn't honor it. I told Gina, the problem was their INTERNAL lack of organization. Lesson - DON'T BUY GIFT CERTIFICATES HERE - IN FACT - DON'T GO AT ALL! Really STOOPID way to run a business. Obviously, the Gift Certificate was legitimately purchased - so what if she couldn't determine which employee processed the paperwork? The customer (me) should have received the 60-minute massage without incident and Gina should have later held a Staff Meeting to determine proper recording of Gift Certificates. Instead, Queen Spa lost this customer - forever - and my sister, who was a regular, will also never return. And, hopefully, you won't go either. There are too many other massage palaces out there to get this horrendous service. And after reading other reviews, I doubt they'll stay in business too much longer - she sure didn't care about losing a few customers! read more

Untrained as masseurs, the husband and wife team do not satisfy. Frequently interrupted by patrons who walked in with inquiries or to make reservations, the operators were distracted and actually conversing with each other at times. The massages themselves were substandard. I wish them luck, but they should study technique and train in effective tissue work. Not very good. read more

This was my second visit to Queen Spa. Both experiences exceeded my expectations. The first time I got a foot massage and a chair massage combo for $22.00. It was so relaxing and well worth the price! Today I went in for an hour of deep tissue massage for $45.00. Laura was wonderful and it was the first time ever I had heated towels applied during a massage, which she did after she was finished with each area. All the employees are warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this spot. As a side note, if you come in from the gym or other activity, there is a shower for you to use beforehand if so desired. read more

I guess the place looks like the kind of place you would think has a bunch of vice po po staked out and ready to pounce on your first walk in because you see all this dim RED lighting everywhere. Not the type of place a girl feels she can drink anything from and not wake up on the movie set of Taken 13 or something but that's because I'm a prejudice bitch. This place is legit. There were two women working there both middle aged and friendly. spoke English well and accompanied me to the rooms. after you get past the creepy dim gothic lighting everywhere you strip down "NAKED" I might add and you lay down face first. I guess I never knew a massage to actually take away back pain. The woman who worked on me made me feel as though she fixed me all my back pain in thirty minutes. The modesty towels they use are small and if you are worried about another woman seeing your backside then don't go. Over all though she only charged 20 dollars but I paid 40 because she took all my pain away. at the end they give you a home grown cherry and sweetened water to go. read more
