The massage/facial room also had a very soothing atmosphere, and they played music in the background. I had Kaia for my facial, and she did an amazing job. Her hands were really gentle, and my face felt super relaxed (I felt like I could fall asleep). I believe she used various moisturizers and products for cleansing, and did exfoliation and extractions (the extractions were surprisingly uncomfortable though and felt like pricks on my skin). The neck and shoulder massage was also nice. Afterwards, my skin was glowing and it felt more hydrated (probably from the steaming too). I brought my mom in for a massage using my membership, paid for her massage, and left while she had her appointment. After her massage, while I was no longer there, she was approached about signing up for her own membership. My mom lives in Troy, Montana and was only visiting California. She made that clear and expressed concern about signing up because she doesn't live here. She was assured that Massage Envy has locations in Montana, the membership could be used nationwide, and she could cancel at any time. Based on those assurances, she signed up. What she wasn't told was that the closest Massage Envy within Montana is in Missoula, approximately 179 miles from her home. The other Montana location is more than 500 miles away. They knew she lived in Troy when they sold her the membership. Now that she wants to cancel, she is being told she is locked into an initial-term commitment and cannot simply cancel--the very issue she raised before signing. Had the cancellation restrictions and realistic distance to a Montana location been accurately explained, she never would have signed up. It certainly appears that securing the membership sale was more important than accurately explaining what my mother was agreeing to. I brought my mom here because I trusted Massage Envy after being a member for more than two years. This experience has changed that. I will now be canceling my membership as well. There is a simple solution: honor what your employee represented to my mother and cancel her membership. If you're considering joining, read everything carefully and get every promise about cancellation in writing.
