I love nail art, especially during the holidays, so I was wanting simple glitter ombré, with snowflakes on top. I showed not only a pic of what I wanted, but a video as well. During my appointment it became apparent Jessica did not even know how to do gel glitter ombré, so I pivoted to just doing a simple layer of glitter on top of the neutral color I had picked out, so what I walked away with was nothing like what I asked for. My nail polish isn't super even, and I need to touch up the filing. I simply don't like my nails, and am disappointed this is what I will have for the holidays. I totally understand that not every nail tech is skilled at nail art, but then make that clear. Tell the client it's not possible, and that you can only do the basics. I would have just went with red nails if I had originally known what I was going to get by trying to get nail art. My pedicure was good. read more

I went to this place several days ago. I just wanted to see how the service would be under the new management. Big mistake they have posters everywhere that they have half off for new customers and some other discounts. Well I went there and requested just a gel on my hands. I had a manicure days before at another salon but it had gotten messed up so all I needed was gel. I requested gel and they were like: no manicure? I said no manicure. They asked me several times and i said no manicures. He did gel and then charged me $35 for gel. I feel like services like that are not trustworthy. I know i will never return. read more

I was disappointed with my visit. The owner is pleasant, but it took her an hour and a half for a basic mani/pedi - no gel or dip. My big toe smudged by the time I got to the car as the polish was applied very thickly. My fingernails were filed crookedly so I had to file them myself when I got home. The polish on my toenails started chipping and flaking off less than a week after the service. The salon is also a mess and I was concerned enough about sanitation that I'll never go back. read more

Three stars are for affordability, how nice everyone was, and the relaxing nature of the pedicure. However, the polish was just terribly applied. It looks like my little cousin did it. Apologies in advance because toe pics are kinda gross but gotta show receipts. The nail polishes on the wall all look old and crusty, and as the older woman was painting my toes she had to add polish thinner to the bottle- if they buy some new polish, maybe it won't be so difficult to apply and the manicures and pedicures will look like professional jobs. I could have done much better at home and now I have to try to clean it up myself. But everyone is really nice! read more

Let me start by saying my manicurist was awsome. He is one of the owers and really takes his time to clean and prep the nails properly. I got shellac. He was great and my fingernails look great. His daughter did my friends nails and hers turned out just as great. This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the new girl who made my pedicure experience pretty painful. She cut my cuticles way too close to my actual skin so that the rest of the time all the products she used burned horribly. I would also add that they are very clean. Unlike other places I've been to (looking at you Tammi nails) the equipment and work stations were clean. And my manicurist washed his hands before starting my nails. I will definitely be returning again just asking that this new girl not do my toes. read more

I choose this salon based on such high reviews. They all forgot to mention the tools used for pedicures are not sterile. They came from the nail techs container in her bucket. Not wrapped, they were community tools. Wow....i was horrified. I knew right then i would not be retuning. No tool was used to loosen dead skin around the nail or cuticle, which i guess is good seeing how they had been used on other customers. I choose no polish just to get out of the quicker. Terrible job in trimming my nails and filing also. I've been in many salons here in Gainesville and i have to say this is absolutely THE WORST salon and pedicure I've ever had. read more

OMG - where do I start? As a licensed cosmetology professional I am very cautious when I go into nail salons because they don't follow state law regarding sanitation and you ask them to do one thing and they do what they want to do. Totally not the case at Queen. Henry took the time to listen to me about how I wanted my nails done, then he repeated it back to me to let me know he understood me and then explained to me how he was going to do it. A+ in my book. I went to Queen nails this weekend based upon the reviews that I have seen on yelp. I had a full set done which cost me $45, and when they were done they looked beautiful. But here I am three days later and four of the nails have already lifted. This is not worth $45. This was probably the best gel manicure I've ever received. The owner really knows what he is doing, and he'll be sure to tell you all about it. The sweet man does a fantastic job and talks your ear off, so it will be a very long time. But it is definitely worth it. My nails have lasted 3 weeks so far and look amazing. You have to make an appointment or you won't be taken. I'd recommend this place to anyone. I would have preferred to see a sign with the prices somewhere though. read more

Update 4weeks later - my first nail chipped! It's been 4 weeks and my nails look great! I'm very hard on my nails so I know manicures don't last but this one did! I'm definitely going back :) These guys know what they are doing! They are so very meticulous and charge the regular cost for deluxe service. I got a regular pedicure which includes a wax treatment on my feet. I also got a gel Manicure and loved how clean my nails are. They are very sweet couple who give recommendations for colors and also will take their time to explain you what they are doing. It was a nice experience except that I spent 3 hours here. The wife is good and doesn't talk much but the husband talks way too much and can't multitask (talk and do my nails). I had a flight to catch in a few hours and wasn't expecting to spend 3 hours on a mani pedi. Although my nails look fab, I'd like a little less talking so they can focus more on my nails. What I did not like was the male owner (?) criticizing her in a loud voice in front of a room of clients and speaking in a different language with his wife (?) about her. I got a pedicure is all I got and I took my husband and he got one too the lady that did my husband's feet was really good at what she does. She was the older lady. I'm kind of torn, this is a good nail salon with a nice family running it. If the husband or wife does your nails, and the wife or daughter does your pedicure, it's usually great. Today, though, I had a pedicure done by a new white girl. First she is not very friendly, doesn't tell you when to move your foot, take it in our out of the water, etc. And her hair was hanging on my feet/legs. She barely cleaned under my toenails, did no shaping, and did absolutely no scraping of the dead skin on my feet. In fact, the bottom of my feet are still rough. Then the polish job was horrible. I could have done better at home myself. If not for the massaging chair it would have been a complete waste of money. Then I got home and realized I've been running other errands with wax still on the side of one foot. I have been loyal to this place but lately my nail fills have been only okay, different lengths, crooked, and polish not completely covering the nail... If I go back it will only be for fills. I'm never taken at my appointment time anymore, last visit I sat for 45 minutes before I was called over to sit on the chair to start my nails. I never make my appt on a day I have to work or have another appt within a couple hours, because I never know how long it will take. Part of that is because the husband takes his time and does the cleaning up of the nails and then the fill well. So there are pluses and minuses but I don't feel like a valued customer anymore, sadly. read more

This was a horrible experience from the start. I wish I could give it a negative star! The store looked as if it was under renovation or not yet open for business which is completely fine if the employees were pleasant. There was one customer and a male and female employee. I told the female employee what I wanted to get done and without responding to me she called the male employee's name. So I walked over to him where he harshly scolded a child before ordering me to sit down. I did and again explained what I wanted to get done. He then asked me if I got the gel on my hands done somewhere else with a nasty attitude. I said yes and again with a nasty attitude he quoted me $30 for a gel removal and just regular polish (without a manicure) plus more for a pedicure. I thought that was pricey so I asked him if the $30 was total and he laughed at me like I was an idiot...I also heard the female employee laughing. So I immediately stood up and said I would go somewhere else. He then said, "what for the price?" in combative manner. My husband and I informed him that he was speaking to me in a disrespectful way and he began arguing with my husband. I honestly don't know what is wrong with these people but save yourselves the disgusting attitude and go somewhere else! It seems this man thinks he can be verbally abusive to not only that poor child as well as his customers. I was able to get everything done somewhere else for guess what?? $30 total for my hands and feet! read more

I usually come to this place for an eyebrow wax/lip wax by Angela. She usually knows exactly how I like my brows and does them to perfection. However, recently she hasn't been in the salon. I came here a few days ago to get just a lip wax, and the older female waxer (not Angela) burned the living crap out of my upper lip. I didn't realize how terribly bad the burn was until I got home and waited a few hours. I have an embarrassing 2 inch RED mark above my lip, the size of a wax strip. This is how I spent my new years. After being a loyal customer, I can assure that I'm never coming here again. I'd rather pay $2 extra somewhere else and not have my skin ripped off and the embarrassment of all my peers and friends seeing where my mustache wax went wrong. read more

A bottle of gel polish they had sitting out was a sample! Needless to say we only got our pedicures, the man could not stop talking! What was supposed to be relaxing was absolutely terrible, I told the woman not to clip my toe nails and she still insisted and she finally stopped asking and listened to me.
