The first few times I loved this place. The more I came back, the more often I would walk into my appointment to find the person I booked with called out or was on vacation with no communication to me. If I knew, I would have rescheduled. When the person I booked with (who did such a great job) was not there, it would take upwards of 2 hours to get a fill. Most of the time I would sit there waiting and get bounced from person to person. They do not clean the drills, files or clips from person to person often and sometimes dip your nails straight into the dip pot. Sometimes, I wouldn't get the exact color I asked for either. There are some really sweet people who work there are some really rude people who work there. One lady gave me attitude on the phone and called me asking why I did not show up to an appointment at 5:30 when my appointment was at 6:30. I came in and she proceeded to give me attitude at the chair, and she was not even the one doing my nails. They take walk ins before appointments, just an FYI. After not coming here anymore, my new nail person said I had multiple "rings of fire" or nail damage from them using drills too harshly on my nails. I am giving this place 3 stars for my nail tecs I would try to book for my fills and pedicures. They rocked. Everything else gets a one star. read more

I feel bad giving a small local business a 1 star rating but I truly had an awful experience today. The tech was on her phone talking and texting the entire time...See pics. I had the sense that she was upset at me for not choosing the gel pedicure as she kept asking me throughout the service if I changed my mind. When I expressed no interest, she was visibly upset. Sanitary wise, I felt uncomfortable that she was touching my feet and also her phone without gloves. I typically get gel pedicures in the area & that's what I originally requested; however the upcharge for gel and gel removal was $25 on top of the $35 standard pedicure. That is a high price for Pittsburgh. I do not know why I didn't just leave but I guess I just wanted get a pedicure before leaving on a vacation. Keep in mind, this is my second time going here (I came here 3 years ago) & both times I've felt pressured to get the Luxury Pedicure. I forgot that there is no difference between the service besides using the callus remover "cheese grater"; It is misleading because a luxury pedicure with callus treatment is typically the add on for the paraffin wax. So you will be paying $10 for, I kid you not, 60 second of that cheese grater callus tool. Anyways, it was an uncomfortable experience socially with the pressure to upgrade to gel& unrelaxing with an emotionally unregulated person visibly angrily chatting on the phone, texting, She didn't apologize for being on the phone, or for delaying the service. I will definitely not be returning. The only thing good about this place is the location. read more

My nail tech was decently friendly, but I got a manicure with just French tip polish. It has been two days and it is already chipping and all of the polish is very uneven. I'm really disappointed in this place--especially because I loved it when I first started coming. There are many wonderful women who work here, with the exception of one, the head technician, who unfortunately changed my experience. At first, I was happy with the service, but over time I encountered more and more issues. One of the first problems was with an appointment I scheduled. They claimed it was at a different time, but I showed them proof that I was correct. Then, during my visit for a pedicure, I mentioned that I had just gotten a manicure two days prior, and one of the nails had completely come off. Instead of acknowledging the error, she charged me $10 to fix it, claiming it wasn't her fault. I could understand a small charge, maybe $5, but $10 for one nail that was likely applied incorrectly just felt unfair. I booked an appointment online w a specific tech for a gel pedicure at 4:30. I arrived just before the appointment was to start, they told me to just sit in one of the pedicure chairs and they would be with me. No one addressed me until 5pm when the tech I had scheduled with came over to put my feet in the bowl, turn on the water, and talk to me about the service, she then left and I never saw her again. I sat there for another 10 minutes before a second tech came up to me to tell me he would be taking over the service. He proceeded to walk away and start someone else, who had just arrived, nails across the room. When, presumably, he saw me watching him he came over w a third woman to tell me she would now be doing my nails. This lady filed the old gel off of my nails and then went back to another client, telling me a guy doing a different pedicure would be "right with me". At 5:30 this 4th man came over and finally started my toes. Also, it was VERY hot in the salon to the point that one of the 4 people who touched my feet just brought me a water after I refused. Overall, the quality is ok but the experience is not worth it. read more

Service was great at first very kind. Then i asked for a design they couldn't do but said they could. They tried and it looked horrible. i went back in 15 minutes after and asked for them to be fixed. they fixed them but didn't refund me for the designs i had at first. i had them fixed with no design so thinking i would get money back the boss was very mean and didn't give me money back and wanted me to pick new designs that i didn't even want and i didn't have time to wait. Also, to add she said it wasn't her problem that her other technician messed up. The vibe was odd when i walked in, no where to sit and wait. Well, I went to them 3 times hoping it would get better. First time, I booked an appointment for my husband and myself for mani/pedi's. One woman, Jenny worked on both of us at the same time. Did a great job and somehow neither one of us felt neglected. Second time went by myself had an appointment with Jenny, who I was told was busy and Kim did my nails. She used a drimmel when I asked her not to. Cut me twice, did no leg or hand massage and was finished in 50 minutes. Two days later, the polish on my big toe was off and four of my nails were broken very low. Went back for repairs. Natalie did a great job handling them. Made a third appointment, Jenny for my husband's pedicure and Natalie for my mani/pedi. Some other woman did my husband's pedicure becasue Jenny was busy with walkins. Natalie's husband did my pedicure because she was busy with a walkin and then I had to wait 30 minutes for her to do my manicure. When I complained because we had made appointments and did nto get the people we requested, we were told that they take walkins and appointments are not honored. When I asked why their time was more important than mine and why do they take appointments when they do not honor them, I was told that they were very busy and that is how they were doing business. Well they are not doing business with me. By the way, my gel manicure started chipping and peeling off within a week. I have gotten gel manicures for years and this does not happen to me. read more

I made a appointment for dip nails and pedicure for myself and a pedicure for my grand-daughter. After sitting for half an hour and nothing. We finally got to sit and soak our feet in cool water. The massager on the chair didn't work and the water became uncomfortably cold. I dried my feet and put on my shoes because no one was there to perform the services. After sitting waiting for my granddaughter to get her $35.00 pedicure. She was charged $50.00/for a basic pedicure even though the prices are advertised as $35. Went to queen nail bar because my normal nail place was closed on Sunday. This is by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. Every single nail tech in the shop looks miserable and I called for a manicure and they take me back to get a pedicure, when I tell them that's not what I wanted they get upset and put me with a brand new technician that took 2 hours to do a gel manicure and u had to walk her though the steps. She used old tools on me and I had someone else's nail clippings on the table touching my hands while she was doing my nails. On top of that I just got home and one of my nails already broke. I took my girls to this place a few weeks ago to get our nails done. My 7 year old wanted a design and they said this can only happen if we get gel nails which I was not planning on. Well they convinced me and it was supposed to last for weeks. So my daughter begged and I finally caved so she got them. It was $160 plus tip for the three of us and two days later 3 of my youngest daughters nails just peel off like stickers. I paid way too much for them to last two days. Best place ever to get your nails done. Extremely clean, staff super super friendly and very professional. I love that you can not smell any of the products fumes at all. They are super gentle when working on your hands and never rush you. Always have a smile on their face when talking to you which I truly appreciate. My daughter and I only come here from now on no place else. We love their powdered dip for our nails sooo beautiful and they do an amazing job on the pedicure. Went in as a walk in because I'm still figuring out the schedule with our newborn. Got dip nails done for our newborn photo session. Quincy was great! He seems to be very attentive to detail. He was very no nonsense and focused on getting things done. Neal is the owner, he was working with another customer while I was there, much more talkative. But I was happy that Quincy was down to business because I did not want to waste the short amount of time I had since my son fed last and was super anxious as it was my first time out alone since he was born. I am looking forward to going back and having. More relaxed experience. It was $50 to get my nails done and I think we'll worth the effort that Quincy put in to make them look fantastic for our photo session. read more

I went into this place to get a manicure & pedicure before my wedding. There were only two people working so it was almost impossible to get a manicure/pedicure in a timely manner. My pedicure which was just okay. My manicure was what was really disappointing. I made it known I was getting a manicure for my wedding the next day. The manicurist didn't NOT even touch my cuticles. I asked if they were going to do them and the response I got was "no, the look good". After the manicure there was polish all over my cuticles and my hands still looked like I've been chewing on them due to anxiety. I would not bring anyone back to this location. read more

My sister and I came in for a walk in appointment and we were both seated immediately. We both received gel manicures and they were excellent. Our manicures included a drink, a heated neck pad as well as a quick back and shoulder massage. They have a huge selection of polish to choose from which is great. I was able to get an accent nail free of charge. They cleaned up my nails beautifully and before they put the polish on they had me look at them to make sure they were shaped the way I liked. Overall excellent experience and will be returning. They do only take cash tips and there is no ATM around so being cash because Tony and Neal deserve it! UPDATE: So as much as my sister and I loved the place our gel manicures started peeling off 5 days after we got them done. So I had to change my rating to 4 stars. He was very quick to get me out of there. It was a pedicure, I could've done a better job myself. I was looking to have nice clean cuticles, trimmed toenails and a nice paint job. None of that happened. The sugar scrub was one rub up & one rub down and one press on the bottom of my foot. Any type of conversation, He interrupted. He would ask me a question, I would try and respond and he would talk over me. I don't think I'll go back. He should Practice active listening. I did some shopping and got the call 40 minutes later. Neal was my technician and he was awesome. I got a very relaxing pedicure and he even helped me pick out a nicer color. Absolutely terrible experience. I was a walk in for an acrylic fill and gel polish. After reading their website I expected to pay $40 with a $10 up charge for shaping the nail. While I never heard of charging extra for shaping I was fine with it and expected to pay $50. The nail tech cut my skin twice because her gloves would get stuck in her drill and her drill would hit my skin. After the manicure was done I went to pay and they charged me $75 dollars. I was told that gel was a $20 up charge but at no point was this mentioned and no one asked if I wanted anything other than gel. So, essentially polish isn't included. Less than 24 hours after my manicure two nails lost almost all of their polish. After three days almost al polish lifted off almost all of my fingers. I called and asked for a refund because I did not live near by and thought this was unacceptable. I was told they could not issue my a refund because I paid by card but that I could come back and they would fix my polish. I asked if I needed to make an appointment or just stop in. I was told that an appointment was not necessary. A week later I called and gave them a 30 minute heads up and they said I could come but it may be a ten minute wait. I get there and I am told it will be an hour wait. Again, I asked for a refund instead of polish and was again told they were not able to refund my card. I waited and was then seated at a station that I watched a client get up from and they did not sanitize a thing before calling me over. So much for COVID friendly precautions. I had a manicure and pedicure while at Blume. I liked the technician and left thinking I'd come back again. There was a moment during my pedicure that he pulled a lot of my cuticle off on both feet. But I thought it must have been necessary. Not even 24 hours later, both of the toes are swollen and infected. I called Blume to tell them about it, and the man that answered did not seem concerned. I asked to speak to a manager and instead he continued to ask questions and dismiss my answers. I would not return to a place that doesn't seem concerned about this. My boyfriend and I were in the mall having lunch and made a random decision to have pedicures together. Absolutely the best pedicure I have ever had!! The salon is clean, instruments are very sterile, the people that work there are extremely professional, and the service is excellent. I took my daughters (8 and 11 yrs old) to Blume as a reward for great grades. I chose Blume to give my girls a special experience, and Blume didn't disappoint. The salon is clean and had an upscale feel. We were walk-ins on a Friday at 5pm and had a short wait. The nail technicians were both friendly and gentle with both of my girls, and did a great job giving them what they asked for. I got a full set of acrylics and they cut my cuticles so far back two of them bled The acrylic is super thick and all under my nails and on my skin. The did a good job polishing. My sister got plain gel and they looked good. I just don't recommend acrylic nails from here. read more
