Honestly this was an amazing experience! I went totally on intuition in selecting this service that humanely removes and relocates bees, didn't even check the Yelp reviews! After spotting the little creatures swarming around my compost, i called Queen Bee, spoke to Eugene and literally a couple of hours later he was there!! He is a fourth generation bee keeper and really knows all there is to know about his subject. He looked at the hive and gave me a very fair estimate of removal cost to vacuum the bees up. What a great company! I called them YESTERDAY, and they came out to inspect that afternoon. after a thorough inspection, he scheduled a morning hive removal. THis morning, they showed up, removed the hive, gave us ample photo opportunities (the hive was near a big window) and let my son look his fill. They were courteous, efficient and speedy! i would reccomend this company to anyone looking to remove a hive on or near their home. This is probably the best bee removal service you will find in LA. I had a giant hive in my guest house that I have been ignoring for years hoping it would go away...well those little bees never left as they expanded their family to 10 or 20 thousand little furry winged friends. Queen Bee showed up on time as expected and spent nearly all day removing the hive, cleaning out the area and then sealing it properly to make sure they wouldnt come back. They also were great to seal up a few other areas around the house to ensure bees do not enter and start a new hive there too. What I learned is this service is not cheap or free but they were the best priced when I called around between a few local companies. I also feel like the job was done right and confident I wont have to deal with the bee problem for a few years atleast...now on to the racoon issue I am having in my attic :) read more

Another company I contacted would only exterminate them for a lot more money which is terrible. Please read up on the importance of bees in the environment. We don't want them living in my homes but we should not have them killed when they can be safely removed and relocated. I left three messages after the no-show and they didn't bother to return my call. Since I didn't have a chance to rate their service I wanted to let everyone know about their horrible customer service and no-show for the appointment!!! I called Friday afternoon. Said they would be at the house on Saturday between 8-10am. They called at 7:30am and said they would be at the house at 8:30. They arrived at 8:25, checked the area, told me it was a wasp nest inside the air conditioning unit, quoted me $200 for removal, safely removed the wasps and nest, and were cleaned up and gone by 9:30am. Eugene was great. We had a hive that was growing in our fence so it was hard to see how big it was. I called Eugene and he called me right back. Even though he was super busy he was able to come out with within a couple days before our 4th of July party and remove a huge hive. One guy showed up to give us the bid and a different guy showed up two hours late to do the work, saying the first guy couldn't make it that day. We were told the work was guaranteed for the huge $1,200 fee (the hive was in our wall and been there for months so it was large) then after we paid and he took out half the hive he changed his mind and said now couldn't guarantee his work and we should hire an exterminator - before he even went up into our attic to further investigate - which he only did at my prodding. He couldn't refer us to an exterminator. Then, he charged us another $650 (negotiated down from $900 in a heated exchange with the office) to come a second day, promising that if he brought another helper he could really finish things up well from the attic. He showed up alone, did not finish the job and then again recommended we hire an exterminator. When we asked, he did not know the name of any beekeepers or know where he took his bees. We had to hire another bee removal company to come and finish the job - which they did without any problems and WITH a four month guarantee. When we asked to speak to the owner, they would not tell us who it was and said it was "confidential information." Huh? We learned that if we have a bee problem in the future we will find a licensed, bonded company. read more

Eugene is a true professional and, from our point of view, the gold standard in bee removal. When he came to diagnose our bee problem (hive in the roof) he was incredibly thorough. He inspected the bee invasion from the roof, from inside the attic, and from the kitchen -- he even spotted the attempt by the prior owners of the house to deal with the problem using poison gas (a solution that doesn't even work, by the way -- it's just a cheap fix that kills bees temporarily). So he knew precisely what he'd be dealing with, including removing part of the roof, extracting the hive and straggler bees and all the debris, and then patching up the area where the hive had been. We called Queen Bee on Friday because we thought we had a nest of bees under our artificial grass. They scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate as early as we were available, which was great! They came right on time and looked around. They determined that we had yellow jackets (wasps), not bees and that they were really under the concrete. They patiently explained that we really should be using an exterminator because the only way to get them out live was to break the concrete, which they felt (and we agreed) wasn't worth it.
