    Beef rice noodle $2
    Shelley L.

This is one of those places you can easily miss if you aren't looking for it. I've been curious about this bakery for a while as I've passed by and seen people in and out. Assumed it was a bakery but they don't offer much buns. Instead, they actually have noodle soups and other dishes. I was hungry and wanted quick, cheap food. Enter Queen Bakery. Inconspicuous and seemingly down to earth, this small shop has a few tables for sit down dining. Menus aren't the most clear and vivid as this shop truly shows it's age. Got two beef rice noodle for $2 each and a steamed pork bun for $1. They only have steamed buns from what I could see and a selection of about 5 to 10 noodle soups that appear to be popular and very reasonable in price. The beef rice noodle was standard and average. Nothing I expected to blow me out of the park and was sufficient with how much noodle there was for $2 versus other spots that charge more. It was already pre-made and sitting in the steamer section but still tasted very fresh. Decent amount of beef filling and soft, tender noodle. What blew me away was the steamed bun! Totally unexpected. Extremely fresh and soft, with a good amount of roast pork filling. I was really pleased with this bun and wish I got two. Insanely fresh and good. I'll definitely come back when I need a quick meal. Total of $5 for these items for lunch? Not bad at all!

Went back in the morning this time for breakfast. I wanted to try their other items since their noodles and wontons really clicked with our taste buds. Got their beef chern fun and their steam pork and vegetable bun. Beef crepe was pretty good in texture but a bit greasy and wish there were more meat. Add the soy sauce a great marriage. Steam pork and vegetable bun was a bit firm to touch but light to taste and plentiful fillings. I also got 2 of these g'ian that are made of sticky glutinous rice and peanuts or green beans wrapped in a lotus leaves. Very Asian style dim sum but worth a try. They can be heavy enough to as a lunch item. Can not go wrong. Ladies working there might seem unprofessional and hard workers but they are quiet polite and talkative in their ways. It makes me feel like I belong and relate in some sense.

    Spare ribs rice noodle

The black bean spare ribs noodle have always been a favorite growing up, so this is quite nostalgic as the flavor is similar to my moms recipe. Portion is a good filling size and its not too salty. Tastes great, relatively cheap, and flavorful!

Gelatin desserts $2: black sesame on the left, red bean on the middle, herbal date tasting thing on the right.

There is a limited amount of tables in this small eatery. More of a take out place. I went at 8:30am to pick up breakfast. Cilantro Cheung Fun (rice noodle)$1.75-they didn't have any pre-made ones so the lady that took my order asked the kitchen to make an order. You can choose to have plain or dried shrimp cheung fun. You can also add cilantro and/or pork. I ordered the plain version with cilantro. Everything is made in house so it was very fresh. Tasted great with sweet soy sauce. Black sesame gelatin dessert $2-picked this up from the counter. You can eat this cold or room temperature. There were 4pcs in the container. This was made perfectly. Not too sweet. Between each layer of dense jello was a good amount of black sesame. Chinese glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in tea leaf$3- Brought this for my mom, so sorry, no pictures. Got the peanut version. The lady was nice as asked if I wanted her to warm it up. FYI it was huge, so don't let the dumpling description fool you. My mother liked it. According to her it was very fragrant, tea scented. Had a good amount of peanuts, yellow beans, pork, and sticky rice. Her coworkers wanted to know where she brought it! They also sell congee and other items. I would go back another time to try it!

    Beef Rice Noodle Roll
    Linh N.

This is another small bakery that opened up in Chinatown, similar to its sister's shop on Grand St, this QB has made to order rice noodle rolls for breakfast. Their rice noodle rolls are chewier than the ones you get in the streets, generous portions and you can tell them if you want cilantro and scallions with it (that's actually the best part). They have anything from beef, pork, chicken, dried shrimp, regular shrimp to just plain rice noodle rolls for you, all for $1.75 each. Definitely not a bad price for breakfast. They also have a wide variety of dishes on their menu for breakfast and lunch besides your regular buns and baos at a bakery. The people behind the register might be slow and can get your orders wrong but patience is key and also the less you order, the less of a chance they'll screw it up.

Went to the Flatiron store both times and didn't have to wait long to order. The staff were great and packed all of the little cakes nicely so that they survived the trek back to our condo. Mango--all around favorite, wound up buying like 4 of these cause half my friends preferred it and I liked it a surprising amount Blueberry--very mild, no tartness, not too sweet with good blueberry flavor Orange--fresh and orangey in the middle, loved this one Pear--reminds me of cinnamon apples (I guess this was cinnamon pears), which isn't my favorite flavor but others enjoyed Banana--made me sad cause I LOVE banana flavored stuff and this just... wasn't? It had old tasting banana paste in the middle assuming because it's real banana and not artificial, is tiny, and didn't taste good Yuzu--nice yuzu flavor and disappeared fast Cloud--forgot the actual name and apparently didn't take a picture, it had chocolate/hazelnut mousse with some sort of caramel and something crunchy, also delicious All of the petit gateaus were on the mild side which is a big plus for me. Appearance was top notch and the balance of cream to filling on point. I'd like to try some of the other pastries next time for sure.

Not too sure if I would say it's a must stop at but it's a great choice if you've never had these type of desserts before. The inside doesn't have many tables and it was pretty busy when I went, so I wouldn't expect to get a seat every time you come here.

Something with eggs, and meat, and a hot beverage as winter is fast approaching. Anything else would do fine, but the first two were an absolute must. Daily Provisions fulfilled those obligations. Though pricey, and probably why I will not return, they make one tasty breakfast sandwich. It might even outdo Panera! If only I could see how it is made rather than just wrapped and packaged for me, with me assuming they just took a pre-packaged sandwich and heated it up. I really hope they do not do that. The taste of it tells me they do not, but I have to surmise. I also got a hot chocolate, which is super rich. It is not super hot, but if you are not careful you could have an accident on the sidewalk because of the milk they use. Drink it slow and steady. Or pace yourself between sips. Do not let the body recognize this is full of the things that make bowel movements happen. Thankfully, I held my ground. They also sell crullers. I love a good cruller. Choux pastry donuts full of rich flavor, without all the density of an actual donut. This one may be too rich. It is also quite expensive. Nearby Donut Pub does a better job with them. I had to be careful eating this. Being careful and knowing how much it cost to get a breakfast here are what keep it a three star review. However, their offerings will keep you out of the cold and give you strengths on days you need to be picked up.
