The restaurant was clean and pleasant. The service was very good. The side salad was nice if overpriced. The pizza I ordered was one of the worst that I have eaten. We had the shrimp and scallop pasta with saffron cream sauce with asparagus over squid ink linguini & my husband had the ribeye with mushroom brandy sauce. Our server Brianna was FABULOUS. We're so happy to find a restaurant at South Coast Plaza that serves gluten-free pasta. I enjoyed their spaghetti Bolognese (excellent sauce-to-pasta ratio). It tastes like nonna made it in the kitchen. They have a great wine and whiskey selection, and we were taken care of by Ron (the bartender) since we chose to sit at their cozy bar. Ron recommended a glass of Super Tuscan to pair with my Bolognese, and it was wonderful. We can't wait to visit again and try more of their dishes. read more

I've been here a couple of times while shopping at South Coast Plaza. The food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. The first time I was here I tried the Chicken Parmigiana, and on my second visit, I ordered the Rigatoni Ai Formaggi. Although I really liked the Chicken Parmigiana, the Rigatoni Ai Formaggi was my favorite. The rigatoni with the four cheeses was heavenly. The highlight of our meals was the desserts. The Tiramisu and Cannoncini were amazing! The service was great here. On our last visit, our server was Bou Bou. She was sweet and thoughtful. She made sure she checked on us often and recommended the best desserts. She was so helpful! If you're craving Italian, Quattro is wonderful. The food was good but pricey- expect $30-50 range for dishes. But one thing was the service was horrible- our waitress never came to our table once. She would go to other tables and ask what they needed- never came to ours. Not sure what her problem was. The other waiter kept spilling water on our table. Besides asking what we were going to order- this waitress was non existing. But she would go to other tables and offer them service. When my mom got the check this waitress hands her the check from behind her back then walks to another table with her fake smile "I hope you have a nice day". Service was horrible. Also expect the food to take a long time. Will not be coming back. Update: looked through other reviews and it's making sense now why the service was bad: because we were Asian. Saw a review that said the hostess seated a Caucasian lady before her even though she arrived first while giving her direct eye contact. Another table of 6 Asian group posted the waiter gave them bad service but good service to the Non Asian group next to them. I thought the waitress was having a bad day and taking it out on us- nope. This is intentional practice they are doing here. And FYI- don't ever throw your check book at the customer expecting any kind of tip. My first time trying this place. The ambiance is casual. We ordered octopus and potato. It was totally different from what I had envisioned.I thought it would be bigger octopus with bite size potatoes but it was more of a chopped octopus salad with tons of olives. The dressing was good but thought the salad was too overwhelming with olives. Next the seafood pasta...perfectly adante pasta with tons of seafood. I highly recommend getting this pasta but you have to ask for it as it's not in the oven. The portions are pretty generous so we split the dishes and they were nice enough to split it for us. Service was absolutely 5 stars! Located downstairs at South Coast Plaza, this wonderful cafe has been here for many years and is a treat to eat here. We arrived around 1:30 Saturday and was promptly seated. It was busy yet our waters and bread (nice and warm) were served right away. We ordered a panini, it was not our favorite but there were so many dishes we saw we wished we had ordered. That is ok, we will come back. We also ordered a mocha coffee and it was delicious. Stopped by for dinner one Tuesday evening after shopping right upstairs. The hunger pangs were kicking in and my craving for Italian food is commonly present. I've been here a few times, but it's definitely been a few years. I was hesitant at first as I did not have high expectations of a restaurant located in a mall. For one, it's situated for convenience so I'm wary of whether the food would be high quality. I was happily surprised! We were seated at our table right away and served quickly with house bread and a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was warm, lightly crisped on the outside and moist softness on the inside. Yum. We ate most of the bread. Our food order consisted of linguine vongole (with clams) and a margherita pizza (with the request to make it extra crispy). These two dishes complement each other very nicely. Also, pro tip get a side of crushed pepper to season. The linguine and clams were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was so savory leaving you wanting more. So creamy with garlic essence. The margherita pizza was also very good. Crispy as requested, and the cheese was as cheesy as cheese could be with a good amount of basil. The pasta was easily finished and we had two slices of pizza to take home. This place is a little pricey - I think it was $20 for a pizza (not too large) and $30 for the linguine vongole. I'd say it was worth it and I would come back here for the same two dishes. Try it. Only complaint is service can be a little slow. It's hard to flag the servers down at times as they're moving all over the restaurant. Also, it can get loud here with all the people and the live music. I don't necessarily mind but if you're coming here to have an intimate conversation, this is not it. read more

We came here for dinner, put our names down for a table of four and they told us it would be about a forty five minute wait, so we walked around the mall for a bit. We came back after about forty minutes or so and were called to our table. We were at a high table in the middle of the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant almost makes you forget your in a mall. We really liked their focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. For my entree I got the linguine and clams. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. My pasta was really good and the sauce was light and flavorful. The clams weren't cleaned very well though and I had some pieces of grit and sand. The clams were fresh tho and had a sweet meaty taste. We did have some confusion with my boyfriends order as they said his veal dish was accidentally taken to another table and they said they could make him another one, which would take some time, or they could give him a chicken marsala dish. He opted for waiting a little longer for his veal and it actually didn't take too long for it to come out and he very much enjoyed it. For dessert we had to get the tiramisu and it was delicious, creamy and light. We had a great dinner here. read more

I used to visit this place quite a bit about 10 years ago. The restaurant has been around for many years. I get the same thing which is the salmon! I remember it being very well flavored. As we were past by the place I thought lets eat here again! Well, the salmon is still good. A little more oily then I had remember but the flavor was still amazing. What I ordered: Salmone - comes with mash potatoes and veggies or all veggies (what I got). Roederer champagne - first time trying this champagne and wow it was really good! Our waitress recommended and she was spot on! The fish dishes are very light so if you are starving you might want to order an appetizer. THE bread was very good! I must have eaten an entire basket of bread myself! Customer service was exceptional!!!!! I'm really happy to see that this restaurant is doing well and still around. Love this place! I like to come here every once in a while, especially because it's quite convenient to eat here while at the mall. I've come here multiple times and every single dish I've had so far is quite good. I think their main thing is ravioli since there is a lot of ravioli on the menu. I am also obsessed with their bread that you can dip in vinegar and oil. Their lobster ravioli is amazing, and you can actually taste the lobster unlike some places. This time I got the mac and cheese and fettuccine alfredo cajun style, and it is perfect. What a fabulous night we had here, there were 35 of us, and Domenico put on one of his famous cooking shows, making us all a four course gourmet meal, serving white and red wine flowing all evening, with the most delicious Tiramisu for dessert. The friends I brought with me have been sending text messages like crazy thanking me for an incredible evening, with great service, wonderful food, their house musician and Domenico couldn't have serenaded us more beautifully or cooked a better four course meal for everyone. It's a nice treat during or after a day of shopping at South Coast. It's good Italian food, more on the expensive side but I mean it's the location. I've tried the pesto gnocchi which was good and very filling - I couldn't finish the whole thing but maybe that's because of the fresh bread they served prior with olive oil and balsamic.
