You are crazy if you have not tried Quatman Cafe. I have never written a review, but tonight is the night. Their Hamburgers are to die for. The fries are the thin crunchy ones that are just great. The hamburger special includes a drink and beer is one of the included choices. You can't ask for more. We try to eat there at least a few times a month. The place is always busy which is a testament to how great the food is, but you never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table to open up. The staff is working their butts off to sever everyone, and they exceed my expectations every time. Stay away from the big chains and eat at a locally owned restaurant to support the local community. read more

They ran out of their daily special and offered their cheeseburgers as a special instead, which is what we wanted to try anyways and included fries and drink. I moved from Cincy to California in 2013 and every time we visit family in Cincinnati we make it a point to go to Quatman Cafe. The Mason location has indoor and outdoor seating as well as a designated parking which makes it easy to visit. On our latest visit we had nine people in our party and it was snowing, so I was worried we'd be waiting a while for a spot inside for everyone. Luckily, even though we met during dinner we were able to get seating for our group right away. 8/9 of us ordered the cheeseburger special and they were amazing, like always. One person ordered the corned beef sandwich and enjoyed their meal too. It's orders like this that make me feel like I need to explore the menu more, but the burger is really great! Nice lunch spot! We've been searching for a classic diner that just keeps it simple!! The cheeseburger was hot and seared perfectly and it left me full! My husband ordered the chicken tenders and it was a lot! Breading was tasty. Great service, we sat ourselves and the waitress greeted us within a couple minutes. My first time visiting this location. I lived in Cincinnati in the late 90s and 2000s and Quatman Cafe, in my opinion, always had the best cheeseburger in the city. This location serves up the no-frills cheeseburger exactly the same way. It's just as good as I remember it being despite not having it 15 years. This location is a nice little spot in cool spot of town. All of the workers were friendly and I got my order fast. If you are looking for a burger better than what gordan food service carries in the freezer section, don't go here. Friendly staff and simple menu. Everything seemed clean and came out quickly. But neither of us could eat our burgers. We left at least half from each of our burgers. My last mouthful I spit out since it tasted freezer burnt or spoiled. Went there for my sister in laws birthday. We were going to sit outside and the sign said "please let us know you're sitting outside so we know you're there" so my husband went inside to let the server know and she was extremely rude and said "will you just give me a minute"... when we were just trying to let her know we were out there. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came outside and she took our drink orders quickly and not very friendly. We had our small dog with us and at the end she said "you can't have a dog here" which we understood and got up to leave but she was kind of loud and everyone was staring at us. read more

Stopped in for lunch yesterday while in the area. It's a small diner type place that also had a bar in the side area of the cafe. We found a booth right away and were able to put in an order quickly after sitting down. I ordered the Fish Sandwich and subbed Fries in place of the potato chips. My daughter ordered the Chicken Sandwich and also subbed Fries for the chips. Our food was pretty good. I was concerned when I saw how dark the fish looked but it wasn't burnt or greasy tasting. My daughter liked her chicken sandwich. She said it wasn't awesome but was pretty good and she enjoyed it. The fries are standard shoe-string fries - nothing special and needed salt. Overall the food was pretty good. Standard diner fare. The prices are great and the service was friendly and quick. Had lunch here today for the first time in many years. The daily special was a cheeseburger, fries and a drink or beer for only 9 bucks ! I also had a bowl of chili that was pretty good. They also had 3 soups (mock turtle, vegetable and ham/bean which I will probably get next time.) Burger and shoestring fries were fantastic--one of the best I've had in this area. After hearing so many people rave about the Quatman Cafe we decided to go. Once we got there it took forever for the server to take our order. I started with a bowl of the turtle soup and it was ok. We both ordered the cheeseburger and fries and I'm sorry everyone, but we did not understand all the fuss. Our burgers were poorly seasoned and topped with processed American cheese. The fries had a funky taste. My guess is the oil they were fried in was old. We went once, but won't go back. There are much better places in the area to eat. read more

We've been to both locations a few times. We came in last night after the music festival failed to provide the food booths they promised. Besides, who can pass up a Quatman's burger? The girl at the counter, a blonde, i think, with her hair in a bun was phenomenal! It was extremely busy and she didn't flinch once! We watched her work person after person, taking orders, getting people paid and checking out call in or to go orders. She kept them all straight and had no qualms about doing it. I don't know her name but she deserves more than the tip we gave her on our to go order. I was truly amazed. OH! And after we took our food back outside, I notice her penmanship on the order ticket. People not familiar with the Quatman history and specialties might not appreciate nor understand. Aside from one of the best, simply big and plain delicious cheeseburger, there isn't a thing on the menu that isn't excellent. And don't forget to take home some of their delicious homemade chicken salad! I love the ice cold frosted mugs of beer and friendly staff, as well. But Don't come here if you want high-priced, fancy chain restaurant food and drink, though. Heard about this place from a friend & decided to give it a try. We walked in around 7:00 pm on a Friday night & the place was packed. There was no hostess so you just had to grab a table when someone got up. We waited about 5 minutes for a server to come around & clean our table from the last patron. She then took our order - we got the Friday night special of a fish sandwich, fries or onion rings & a can of soda pop for $8. Our food came out pretty quickly & it tasted good. The fish sandwich had 2 nice sized pieces of fried fish that barely fit on the bun & the tartar sauce which came on it was decent.
