We called and needed a slop sink installed in our business. The sink would be directly right next to the water lines and the drain PVC. We already purchased a brand new sink and faucet complete with water supply connections so they did not need to furnish this. Thank goodness we wanted a quote first because the price quoted was $1,850.00 for 2 hours work. $925.00 per hour is more than the best lawyers charge and belive me, we dodged a bullet here. Be careful and ALWAYS ask them for a quote 1st. They have a show-up fee of $59.95 so when their ridiculous quote is unacceptable, the company at least gets paid for gas and the employees time. read more

The technicians did a great job explaining the process. They processed the initial paperwork and said it would be a couple hours of work (2 guys because challenge of moving a 75 Gallon tank). Luckily it was the exact model I had before so the connection modifications were very minor. Ended up being about 1 hour of work. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the cost was higher than I thought it should be based on the work done. It was the price that QPS told me so wasn't a surprise, but if was charged on Time and Material, it should have been much lower. Johnny was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional, especially when it turned out that we're just new homeowners who didn't notice that the drainage hose from our HVAC was pinched. These guys really screwed me, not once but twice. In addition to ripping me off and charging me 3x reasonable rates, they are awful human beings who left my tenants literally crying with a kitchen sink overflowing with sewage as they walked out on an emergency situation. Stay as far away from them as possible. If you need a 24 hour plumber, call Mikes plumbing at 773-875-8833. So, to start, in June 2012 my tenants had an emergency situation with sewage backing up into the kitchen sink on a sunday evening. These guys showed up and fixed the problem - awesome! But, they charged me $772 for the repair (rod the stack), which should cost a maximum of $250. $180 of this cost was an emergency dispatch fee, which I would expect, but the $590 service cost on top of that was way out of line. I spoke to the manager, and he agreed to refund a small portion of the charges. What he didn't tell me what the because I called to complain about the outrageous charges that he put me on a customer "black list" that they would not service again. The same issue just happened (about a year later), and my tenants called the same company. The repairman showed up, but refused to service the sink because of the billing issue the year before. He proceeded to get on the phone with me, in front of my tenants, and explain how unreasonable I was, and how it was my fault that he was going to walk out of the apartment with a sink literally overflowing with human feces. I begged him to put any issues that he and I had aside, and help my (literally) crying tenants. He refused and walked out. My tenants thought I was a complete jerk for complaining the year before, and hung up on me. We called another plumber, Mike's plumbing (number above -call him if you need an emergency plumber!), and he came out, was friendly and courteous, and fixed the issue for $289. This was an identical repair and identical emergency situation that Quality plumbing charged me $772 the year before, and then black listed me for questioning the charges. The service was good but the charges are 150% more than any other service with similar machine It was a sewer rodding which took 30mins. I was told 500$ for that and I paid it. After googling and asking friends...I was told similar service on same day will cost 200$ I did ask them before paying to reconsider the price as other people in market are charging only 200$ . They told that they have specialized service and all...trust me their service is same as other 200$ service It's my mistake to agree for the price.It is very bad that a company charges so much high compared to other similar companies. Last week, around 8pm, Saturday, my basement flooded. I have lived in my town home for more than 8 years, and had yet to have any plumbing related problems. This is why I did not have a plumber's name at the ready when this problem occurred. After investigating the flooding, it appeared that the water was coming from the hot water heater. I quickly researched online and called a few plumbing services. There were many offering "emergency" services, which is what I needed due to the day and time that this happened. There was no way that the flooding could be allowed to continue on unabated, as it could cause structural damage to my house, as well as ruin everything within my basement. Based on pricing, online reputation, and available warranty options, I decided to give Quality Plumbing Services Inc. a try. They impressed me immediately. I called them, and they dispatched their emergency crew to my house to deal with the problem. While I was on the phone with them, they gave me detailed instructions on how to minimize the flooding by draining the water out of the hot water heater tank. Their instructions were so good that the flooding almost stopped entirely while I drained the tank. It turns out that this procedure was made less complicated by the simple way that their employee instructed me to do it. This helped immensely, and I found it hard to believe that it was so easy for me to do. That is a great employee! Things became even better upon the two-person crew's arrival. John, the technician with more than 20 years of experience, explained their 10 year labor and parts warranty in detail. Their price estimate was consistent with my phone conversation. I appreciated both this and the time that John took to go over everything. Considering the time of day and the day itself, he was very businesslike and understanding, yet anxious to get started before the flooding in my basement became worse. This combination of factors meant a great deal to me. After going over everything and explaining what would be done, which parts would be used, how long it would take and roughly how much the procedure would cost, I approved of the job. In turn, John and the other man in his crew started to work quickly and professionally. While the working was going on, they discovered a few ways to improve my hot water heater. These extra tubing enhancements were done without extra charge, which I appreciated. Sometimes it is the little extra things that matter the most. Thankfully, after a couple hours of work, a new heater was installed and started working well. The tubing enhancements were also completed. Once all of this was done, at the end of the job, the work area was cleaned thoroughly. Sometimes contractors, such as plumbers, leave a mess that the homeowner must then clean up. Not in this case. These are the tiny details that really count. Once the job was completed, the mess was cleaned up, and the invoice was presenting to me, John, the technician told me about the maintenance tips and steps to take just in case a similar emergency should occur again. This was helpful, and I really appreciated the extra time that he took to go over this. However, the story did not end there. Unfortunately, on Sunday evening, around 24 hours after the repair and the installation of the new hot water heater, we again found water in the basement. I called Quality Plumbing Services, Inc. and John, who was still on call for the weekend and handling the emergency situations like mine, was on his way over almost immediately. I discovered the leak, called Quality Plumbing Service, inc., and around 40 minutes later, their employee, John was here in my home again. That is a very fast response time that I really appreciate. It is good to know that my emergency was also their emergency, and that they cared enough to arrive in a speedy fashion. Thankfully, John quickly found the issue: the pump tubing was leaking, perhaps due to aging. These were the original tubes, not the ones that were enhanced and upgraded the day before. The hot water heater itself was also fine. This means that the issue did not have anything to do with the earlier repair, and I just had an unlucky weekend as far as plumbing is concerned. Once again, John was able to explain this clearly and professionally to me and charged a reasonable price to fix this new issue. If there is one thing that I have learned from all these un-expected issues, it is a great plumbing contractor. Quality Plumbing Services, Inc. did a great job of fixing both problems. Their emergency contractor team responded quickly, and the person that I spoke to on the phone that Saturday night was very helpful. The same employee, John, visited my home twice during the weekend. I am a property manager and turned to QPS religiously for weekend/after hour emergencies- until this past weekend. One of my tenants had a leaking toilet (started Saturday night) that they were able to shut the water off to and prevent continuous leaking, however that left them without a working toilet. I called QPS Sunday morning, and my business was almost turned away due to the fact that historically, I hadn't always been able to approve the repairs they said were needed. As others here have mentioned, they charge astronomically high prices, and unless absolutely necessary, I could not approve such costly repairs without owner approval- which is not always possible at 11:30 at night. Diane said the guys were getting "pissed" for being sent to my jobs when I was not always able to approve their proposed repairs or ridiculously high fees. I explained that sometimes I just needed a professional to make sure that whatever the problem was, that it was under control. I thought that's what the $179 emergency service call fee would cover. As insulted as I was, I moved forward since I could not leave my tenants with an inoperable toilet, and told Diane I would approve the cost to re-set the toilet with a new wax ring ($459 + $179 as opposed to the $170 my plumber would have charged me the next day), assuming that was the problem. Of course that wasn't the only issue. The plumber called and told me that since the toilet was moved 3 inches to the left and 3 inches back, he suspected the collar was broken. He assumed it was a cast iron collar, and the cost to replace would be $900 ON TOP of the $459 and $179. OUTRAGEOUS. I told him that I spoke to Diane about my not always being able to approve their work due to their ridiculous prices, asked him WHY it was $900 just to replace a collar, and he got snotty and said "well it's Sunday." I acknowledged that I knew it was Sunday and that I didn't need his attitude. I reluctantly approved the work. Once the toilet was removed, he called back with a little good news- the collar was PVC and would therefore be only $664 to replace (a piece of plastic!!). Once that was taken care of, about 40 minutes later (meaning their labor per hour must be in the $500 range), I was informed of a compromised tank-to-bowl seal, and this repair would cost $375!!! For a SEAL!!! On top of the $660, $459 and $179! I just about lost my cool and said "So you're asking me to pay ~$1600 to FIX A TOILET?!"- to which he replied "Well I talked to Diane, and if you just want a new toilet, it would be $664 and we can waive the $459 re-set fee since I would have to do that anyways with a new toilet." Again I reluctantly let him proceed. Did I approve all of the work before it was done? YES-I really had no other option and they took advantage of that. At the end of Scott's 1-1.5 hour visit, if that, the invoice was $1506.58. Absolutely ABSURD. In the past I referred coworkers to QPS, but never again (I have since told my colleagues NOT to use them), and I will never, ever call them again. I'd rather send my tenants to a hotel. read more

I discovered on a Sunday the worst way I was having sewage problems, with dirty water all over my basement floor. I called two other services. Both couldn't come out until the next day. I called Quality and they could be at my home within 90 minutes. When they arrived they were very courteous and friendly. I showed the issue and they were quick to assess the situation. They gave me a quote for what needed to be done and why. It was a lot more expensive than I expected. But I also knew it was Sunday pricing, and he was thorough in explaining all the steps in the service, why it was more expensive, and how he's doing better job than the budget guys. Two hours later, they were done. He explained why it backed up (damn tampons and tree roots). But I should be good for a couple years. He also cleaned up the soiled area, and bleached as well. It looked better than beforehand! So while you are paying top dollar, you are getting better than top dollar service. Would I call them for my plumbing needs in the future? Absolutely! I was having problems with a very slow drain on my kitchen sink and I tried to rooter it out with a small rooter I had from home depot but it didn't make a dent. So a friend of mine recommended Quality Plumbing Services. They were willing to come over right away but it wasn't an emergency so they gave me an appointment the next morning. Scott came over the next morning, was even a few minutes early, and took a look at the situation. He recommended we route the pipes all the way to the front of the house. This cleared up the draining issues right away. Scott was very polite and clean in his work and a pleasure to deal with. He had made some recommendations as well on my piping (I had plastic/PVC pipes) and I will keep them in mind for that work in the future. I've used Quality now 5 times in the last year (local move = a few updates to old Home appliances and fixing/replacing in new home). I can always get them here same or next day, and they always have an immediate solution. 4 of their visits have been replacing: sump (replacing in old house, for new owners) toilets (new house, we wanted better quality), water heater (new house, 15+ years old, it was shot); and one visit for a garbage disposal ended up being an electrical issue, which they resolved. Put in an ejector pump for me about a month ago on a Friday night. Came quickly, nice guys, were up front about the costs, but were EXPENSIVE! $1530.00 for pump and installation, plus another $120 for the service call. They were at my home for less than 1 hour. I know it was on a weekend night, but come on. It was explained to me that their plumbers start the clock for labor the minute they are notified of the job by the office. So you are paying them to brush their teeth and get dressed, as well as driving to get their truck and driving to the job. In fairness, They credited me back the $120 service fee. 2 years ago I had a company come out and charge me $300 to rod the sewers from my home to the main sewers. The company didn't have the necessary equipment and told me they would have to tear up the sidewalk. This is when I called Quality Plumbing. They charged $500 which is more than most of the companies but considering the other company couldn't do the job I went with them and was pretty happy at the results. This year my kitchen sink got clogged pretty bad and I called them back. I asked for a quote to unclog the sink as well as look at the pop up on the master bathroom sink that had broken. When they came out, they quoted my wife $842! ($492 for the kitchen sink and $350 for replacing some pipe's and such in the master bathroom). When my wife told me, I was completely appalled that they would charge us the same price for unclogging the sink as they did for the main sewer. I immediately began researching and calling other plumbers in the area and they all began saying it would be around $175 - $250 for unclogging the kitchen sink. At this point I told my wife to tell Quality Plumbing that there price was outrageous. What did they say? They dropped the price to $392 for the kitchen sink. I said no again, and they dropped the price to $342. At this point all I could think was, if you can drop your price so much, why are you coming out here quoting me $500? And of course, just like any shady company does, as soon as we mentioned how a couple of other plumbers were willing to do the job for significantly less, they began bad mouthing them saying "You can't trust them" and "I would stay away from them". Well, an A+ rating from the BBB and solid Yelp reviews tend to convince me more than the competition bath mouthing them. In the end, we had another plumber come out and unclog the sink (using the same machine that Quality Plumbing had suggested) and fixed the pop up in the master bathroom all for $250. It's been two days since this happen and it still has me so upset that this company tried to rip me off by charging me an additional $600. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

We have used Quality Plumbing for a couple of years now. We moved into an older home in the summer of 2015 and Quality Plumbing has helped us through repairing a lot of the issues that have come up. Most recently, we had a main drain line from our house to our sewer snap during the bitter cold temperatures. It was a super busy time for this business since many individuals were faced with plumbing emergencies due to the record cold temperatures. Such a great experience from the woman who took my call to the guys who did the work. After we suffered sewage backup in the basement we were bailed on by the first company we contracted with. With three days of rain in the forecast we were desperate. Although it was close to the end of the work day, the kind woman in the office did everything she could do to help and managed to get two guys over here within the hour. The two guys (one was Isac so sorry I cannot remember the other's name) graciously agreed to extend their workday to do the job. They were extremely polite and affable, conscientious (putting on paper booties each time they entered our house) and took the time to make sure we understood everything. On top of that they declined to accept the $100 tip I offered to them in gratitude of them coming so quickly and extending their workday. You do get excellent quality when you deal with Quality Plumbing. Discovered the problem was another plumber's installation of a product that was under warrantee. Quality guarantees both the product and the labor - something to be aware of when dealing with other plumbers installing products like sump pumps who may charge a lot to replace something under warantee. Ask. Get it in writing. Wish I had gone with Quality before. While he was here, Dan also fixed a stuck tub faucet, and only charged for the service call, a very modest amount for a plumber. I think these guys are the real deal. With the amount of rain we get in my area, I was very nervous when my sump pump went out the other night around midnight. Storms were in the forecast. I called and spoke to someone (Ralph) at 3:00 am who assured me they'd be out next day though not til noon. He could tell I was nervous and said they might get there earlier and not to worry. My first interaction with them was a middle-of-the-night emergency sewage backup, when we had a house full of out-of-town guests. I called them on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd after seeing water building up by an outside drain near my patio doors & I was concerned it would get into the house. The girl in the office was very helpful, asked a bunch of questions - even suggesting if I could wait until the following morning, I could save on the emergency service fee. By the time I was able to get home & call for an appt, the water has come into my family room. I called them back & they had my info & knew I'd be calling (she had told them I may be calling back for a morning appt) - set up an appt for the next day. They ended up calling back later saying they had a 1st appt cancel & I could have it if I wanted. OF course I took it! The guy who came out was even a few minutes early - super nice & explained everything. Even offered me a few options for a drainage problem I have in my backyard. I was extremely happy with them and would definitely use them again (though I hope I never need to call a plumber again!). This company is a life-saver!!! I'm an out of state landlord and my Illinois tenant, a single woman with 3 children, started smelling a gas leak in the kitchen on Thanksgiving morning. She called Nicor, who came out and told her it was a leak in the wall behind the stove. They turned off the gas and then left. Needless to say, turkey didn't go in the oven and they were sitting there without heat most of the morning waiting for me to get a plumber. I scrambled for hours trying to contact companies that stated they provided '24 hr service', these companies paged out someone who never answered. I finally called Quality Plumbing. Within an hour, John and Wally were at my tenant's home. Now remember, this is Thanksgiving we are talking about. They explained the cost upfront to just test the gas lines and the costs of any probable worst case scenarios. They also explained they may have to break some of the kitchen backsplash tiles but would try their best to avoid it. They tested all the gas lines and fixed the problem behind the stove,without having to damage any tile or create a big hole. They had the gas back on in less than an hour! They also checked the appliances to make sure they were all working, the water heater, washer/dryer and stove. Extremely, extremely satisfied with this company and will use them for all future needs! read more

I own a rental condo and my tenant informed in first thing in the morning that there was no hot water. She demanded it be fixed that day, so the first company I could find that could do it that day was Quality. But then my tenant refused to cooperate to be there when the technicians could, demanding they come when she got home from work that evening. She wouldn't let me go there myself to let them in. Their customer service associate, Diane, said that they would come back when my tenant got home from work and that they would charge me the regular rate as opposed to the afterhours rate, which this would have been. In the end, it turned out that they needed parts and since it was too late to get the parts, they had to come back the next morning anyway. They received more lack of cooperation when they did come back in the morning because the tenant agreed to be there in the morning, but was not. I told the techs to just leave so that they could go to other jobs and just as they were leaving, my tenant showed up and they were able to get in and fix it. In speaking to both Diane and Wally, one of the techs, several times each, they were nothing but outstandingly professional, friendly and compassionate. This absolutely went above and beyond in the face of the resistance by my tenants to be cooperative and reasonable. Which truly reflects the culture of this company. They will be my first call every time and I have informed the rest of the owners in the building of my recommendation as well as our management company. read more
