I then messaged Doug on the Yelp platform and he responded within an hour. Ironically, right after he responded, one of the two I had text referred me to Doug. Yesterday he came out, gave me an estimate and today completed the work. The pool cut off a water pipe to my flower bed so Doug installed an automatic watering system, programmed it, showed me how to download and use the app to control it. He then was supposed to reroute two lines, but found three and set it up so that I have two drip lines and can add two more. He also showed me how they all functioned. I love giving business to hard working small business owners and Doug was incredible. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!!

I hired to have mulch and rock beds put in my front lawn and trim my front plants. One question I…read moredidn't ask and should have was who was actually going to do the work. The two persons who did the work was a teen looked no older than 17 yrs and a man who had done handyman work for me =also from his company. They broke sprinkler heads and scalped a beautiful lavender plant blooming purple flowers and sage bush that had taken me a few years to grow. I had asked them to trim them, not cut them so they looked bad. I went to the nursery and bought more plants to fill in the bare areas where they had removed the lavender bush and sage bush. They did not do deep edging to keep the mulch in/the landscape fabric they pinned over the sprinkler heads and whatever machine they used to remove the grass broke the sprinkler heads. They did not remove enough dirt so the mulch was level with sidewalk and blowing away. i called the owner about the water flowing from the sprinklers and he did replace the sprinkler heads to prevent water flowing. At least he had integrity to repair the sprinklers, I am grateful for that. Make sure you ask who will do the work and what kind of experience they have doing it and ask for references/or pictures of the work (not the work of the owner-he takes the larger projects and has unqualified people doing the smaller jobs).

From the very beginning I informed that this was a rental property that my sister and I have recently inherited from our late mother. I explained that his company was recommended to us by the Property Management Company we use for this property, and that while my sister lives in town, I live 160 miles away and am in charge of arranging repairs and maintenance. His fee for the repairs was reasonable and he was quick to do the repairs. He received payment in full two weeks before the 30 day due date. So far So Good, Right? Wrong. I also explained to Carlos that we were on a very tight budget right now - the sprinklers are old and need to be replaced - we just cannot afford to do that right now. I asked him if he would provide front and back yard care once a week, including hand watering the lawn, until we are able to get the property rented. He quoted me a monthly rate of $100.00 and understood that this was a temporary situation. He said he would be happy to start the first week of July 2012. THAT was the last I ever heard from him. I emailed him on 7/09/2012 and also called him to check in and see how things were going. He has not returned ANY of my email messages or my phone calls. The next week, my sister arrived at the property to find our front lawn dead, and a large, thriving Lilac bush, and a small, struggling Dogwood Tree in the front entry planter completely dead. Until this happened, I was willing to give him 5 stars on yelp. Unfortunately, Carlos Hernandez, Owner of Advanced Landscape Management in Visalia, CA IS NOT someone I can recommend. All he had to do is call me back, explain that he could not provide the service after all, and I could have easily found someone else to do the job. Because he did not do the right and professional thing, we now have even more expenses to incur before we will be able to rent this property.
