We requested a simple / basic front-of-our house-plus-a-couple-tree-trunks holiday lighting service from Valley Holiday Lighting, and that's exactly what they delivered. We were perfectly happy with the service and price. It saved us a lot of time and saved my husband from spending hours doing it (what would take him hours actually took them a few minutes). It was well worth the money spent in the time and effort it saved us, and the end result was nice. We didn't have to struggle with untangling lights, or discovering that large sections were now dead, or discovering that our extension cords weren't long enough. They did a nice job, they gave us exactly what we asked for, and the lights stayed up and perfectly lit all holiday season. No problems. When he was almost done even went back up to put the 1 extra strand up on our side yard to make the house look great from both sides (we have a corner house). They were able to set up an appointment time quickly and at a good price. All the wood installed matched the trim so you dont really notice them during the day. He is such a perfectionist that where the multiple jumps at the house are hardly show if at all. Was even able to give me a quote over the phone after a sent him some pictures of my house. Took his team a few hours and they were very thorough. Made sure the lights were all straight, even went back on the roof to fix one they noticed wasn't as straight. They hid all wiring under the eve and was exactly what I asked for. I had high hopes for this company due to all the great reviews I've read. I used them last year and was underwhelmed. For $560 I would have assumed that they would test the lights out before installation. There were about 20 light bulbs that were out or very dim. The owner was quick to respond but after their second time around there were still light bulbs that were out. Also the new light bulbs were white vs warm. At this point communication got worse. We originally contacted this company in October 2022 for lights for the exterior of our house. We did finally speak with someone around the end of November. We were contacted the day of installation that they would come out that day and put up our lights. They originally quoted us nearly $300 to put icicles on the front gutters of our 1 story house. Between the time of our quote and when they arrived to install we decided to add having the peaks of the front of our roof strung with lights, this increased the price to about $600. We provided ALL the lights for the job. They did provide the clips and a few dollar store extension cords. The job was done in less than 2 hours. I was less than impressed, yes the house looked nice, but $300+ per hour seems very high. Fast forward to today (1/23) while working from home we start hearing strange noises out front I sent my husband to investigate only to find men on our roof. Employees from this company came and climbed up on our roof WITHOUT informing or getting our permission. And they were removing our lights that we own. My husband and I removed the lights from the gutters weeks ago, we chose to leave the ones on the peaks since they blend into the roof. Employees of Valley Holiday Lights were on our roof taking down our lights without even asking or informing us. We chose to not have the company take the lights down since removal is on top of the nearly $600 we paid to have them put up there. I find this company to have questionable business practices. Also they are very difficult to get a hold of. There is no email on their Yelp page and the link to their website is broken. read more

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company, although I had high hopes in the beginning. They came out promptly, put up the lights rather quickly, but did not finish the job. Our olive tree, which is really the highlight of the front yard, only had sphere light balls on half of it, which really looked unfinished. I reached out to the company, on NOV. 26th, and he said he would be by to finish the job. Haven't heard or seen from him since. Today is Jan. 7. He didn't collect any money either. I'm left wondering if something serious happened to this guy? Updated: Just received a text that they will be returning on Friday to take down the lights. I am glad I received a response. But I can't use this company again. I had 2 parties and wanted my lights to be perfect. Guess we will go back to doing them ourselves :( Updated again: received my bill also this am and they discounted the total. He didn't charge me for the spheres or the labor of hanging the spheres. We were recommended by friends and neighbors to use Ray and Valley Holiday lighting about 3 years ago after we saw what a beautiful job he did on our friend's house. We have been using him since and have been very happy with his work. Having him go up on our roof beats having to do it ourselves! Since we already had alot of lights, we give him our lights to put up rather than rent lights from him - which you can do. Every year I get him to do more. Initial charges were $700 to have simple lights to go around my house Once I stated them that lights were not what I requested he asked for another $600 to change them. Now I was stuck with lights which absolutely did not match my entire house Decor. Not trustworthy at all. I will never ever recommend them.
