They responded to my service request really quick, and I was able to schedule an appointment for service just a couple days later. They gave me the best quote out of 6 other shops! The work was done in a reasonable amount of time, They have a really nice waiting room, warm, cozy, music, drinks. I had to drive 40 mins away from home to get my service here, but I'm so glad I did. I won't be going to any other mechanic in CNY from now on, the drive is worth it. It's in a nice location, easy to access. Tons of gas stations near by too. I believe they are family owned, and they even sell cars which I thought was cool. If I had to buy a car in the next few months, this would be my first stop. They are proud and stand by their work. Picked up a trailer here and had a very concerning experience. Shortly after leaving the location…read more(less than a mile away), the trailer disconnected from my hitch while driving in traffic. Thankfully I was able to safely slow down and pull over without injury or damage. After assessing the situation, it appeared the trailer may not have been fully seated/secured on the hitch ball during hookup. The lot conditions were also very muddy/soft, which may have contributed to the issue. A passing motorist stopped to help me reconnect and secure the trailer. As soon as I was safely off the roadway, I called Thompson's Garage three times in a row within minutes of the incident and left multiple voicemails explaining what had happened. Not only did I receive no callback that day, but as of two days later I still have not heard from anyone regarding the incident. I understand mistakes can happen, but a trailer detaching on the roadway is a serious safety concern, and the complete lack of follow-up afterward was extremely disappointing.

Everything was starting to go wrong and it was honestly scaring while everyone else on the NYS Thruway was going 75 mph. I knew it was the transmission because when I started to have problems South Bay told me it was the transmission and my 2nd gear was gone. Fast forward to not having a car for 2 weeks. I get a phone call from my mom who just got off the phone with a shop trusted by my family who had my car. The transmission lines were CUT and never hooked back up to the transmission. There was no coolant going to my transmission. Now I have a minimum $2,300 bill for another transmission and coolant lines. I would stay away from this place if I were you.
