After 20 minutes in snowstorm, I went back for advice and again he swore it was there. Once again I go back and he takes another 30 minutes with the customer. After his own inspection he realizes the vehicle is not there. He calls his boss and learns he drove the vehicle home the previous night. Salesman acted like he could give a shit less.

Thankfully I was able to safely slow down and pull over without injury or damage. After assessing the situation, it appeared the trailer may not have been fully seated/secured on the hitch ball during hookup. The lot conditions were also very muddy/soft, which may have contributed to the issue. A passing motorist stopped to help me reconnect and secure the trailer. As soon as I was safely off the roadway, I called Thompson's Garage three times in a row within minutes of the incident and left multiple voicemails explaining what had happened. Not only did I receive no callback that day, but as of two days later I still have not heard from anyone regarding the incident. I understand mistakes can happen, but a trailer detaching on the roadway is a serious safety concern, and the complete lack of follow-up afterward was extremely disappointing.
