Honest and helpful. Brought my suburban in for a airbag light and they quickly searched to see if it was a recall item to save me some money. Called me after the checkup and informed me about some maintenance needed and kept the removed parts so I could see them after the repair. Dave the driver was polite and friendly and dropped me off and picked me up quickly so I wouldn't be inconvenienced while my car was in the shop. Drove 1/2 hour for appointment to test drive and purchase a new truck. Oriental sales man sent me to go across street to look at the vehicle in the lot while he finished up with a customer. After 20 minutes in snowstorm, I went back for advice and again he swore it was there. Once again I go back and he takes another 30 minutes with the customer. After his own inspection he realizes the vehicle is not there. He calls his boss and learns he drove the vehicle home the previous night. Salesman acted like he could give a shit less. read more

They told me they needed some time to order it, but couldn't even tell me how much everything would cost. Very unprofessional and an inconvenience, second Chevy place that bites the dust which sucks because I want my Chevy to be able to be worked on by its namesake! But whatever I won't risk it. ZERO I will never buy another vehicle from here. I have always gone new but decided to get a newer/used vehicle for now. The car had a shake that they said would be taken care of also the transmission shifts very hard. Well, I brought it back many times for them to say we replaced the breaks we replaced other things. I don't think they really did replace anything as I took it to another place, and they said there was no way the breaks or anything was ever done. I have now had this car for 1 year and I can't stand this car and hate it. I am having nothing but problems with the emergency break just going on when I am driving and sticking so now that is an issue and no one can fix it. Then it shifts so hard that your whole body moves. I am told I must take it to the Cadillac dealer as they are the only ones that can fix this??? Really so they had to have known that this was what was wrong with the vehicle and never fixed it so now I am left with a car that I really shouldn't be driving as it is unsafe when the emergency brake just comes on while driving. I had been working a purchase and the sales person and I finally settled on a price. I told him to give me a final, out the door price and noticed it seemed more than it should be. First, he refused to give me a break down. Then, when I finally got it, I saw several fees that were never disclosed. I disputed them and was told "it is what it is". TAKING MY BUSINESS BACK TO EAST SYRACUSE CHEVY WHERE IS BELONGS!! Personally I have been an East Syracuse Chevy Fan for almost 9 years now, and absolutely LOVE them!! My fiancé was looking for his first truck, and wasn't able to find one at East Syracuse Chevy, but found one he fell in love with at Sun Chevy. And to say we were taken advantage of is an understatement. 3 months ago he bought the used truck. Yes we knew what we could be getting into with buying a used vehicle.. but after less than three months of having the truck, we find that the emergency brake doesn't work, multiple other issues in the back end, electrical issues and issues with the lights on the heat/ac portion of the dash. All these issues... and because it was a few days past 90 days following sale that we spoke with them they won't do anything for us. Mind you I called the week prior AND sent an email to the guy that sold us the truck with NO response! First time customers and they told us there is nothing they can do to help, and reported to us that the issues with the E Brake, and ass end are "wear and tear". You mean to tell me that in a three month span all this goes due to "wear and tear" from us!?!? You put an inspection sticker on this truck and I don't actually think you inspected it. From reading some of the other reviews on here, it seems we are not the only ones that were sold a piece of shit from these people!! I recommend EAST SYRACUSE CHEVY ALL THE WAY!!!! I found a truck I wanted on cars.com that was at this dealership. I texted and emailed them for more info which took some time to get. I then messaged that I was interested in the truck but got no response. After the new year the truck dropped in price and I texted and emailed again still saying I was very interested in the truck. No response. I then called the dealership to set up an appointment to drive it. Drove an hour there, drove it, came to an agreement on price and what not, the entire time they just kept telling me how much they were losing out on the truck. Granted, no one forced them to make this deal and it wasn't even that great of a deal. I found an interest rate lower than what they were offering with with USAA. They told me that they don't do business with them and that if I showed up with a check from them they would not make the deal with me. Again told me how they were already losing out so much on this deal. Then I schedule an appointment to pick the truck up a week later. Arrived but the paperwork was not ready. Once the paperwork was ready, it was incorrect. Finally get everything done I drive away and then notice the gas tank has less than a quarter of a tank of gas. I text my sales guy and he just ignored me. I had 4 hours of driving into this deal, the least they could do is give me a tank of gas. Was just unimpressed from start to finish. read more

I want to start off by saying I do not generally write bad reviews for companies - this is a very rare case, where my wife and I were taken full advantage of because of our situation. I am hoping for some sort of resolution from Sun Chevy, as the buying experience was a good one and I would truly like to recommend this dealership to friends and family in the future. My wife Emily bought a 2015 Buick Enclave from Sun Chevy September 10th of 2018. At the time, I was away in the fire academy in CT, leaving her to find a vehicle on her own for our growing family (she was 5 months pregnant at the time). Because I could not be there, she took it to our personal mechanic in Syracuse to give it a once over to ensure that the vehicle was in good repair. Dave, our salesperson, drove the Buick, and Emily met him at the mechanics prior to buying the car. Our mechanic recommended new brakes on the SUV, stating that the pads looked like there was very little life left, and that they should be replaced before we go ahead with the purchase. Dave took it back to the dealership to have the brakes re-checked. After the Sun Chevy mechanic allegedly checked the brakes, Emily was assured through texts from Dave that it was the model SUV that made the brake pads appear to be low, and that they had at least 70% life left - he even went on to say that if the brakes lasted less than 30,000 miles, the company will address any issues (as seen in texts below). I put my trust in this company to find my wife a safe car for our family. BIG MISTAKE. June 2019 - The Buick started making squealing/grinding noises - we immediately took it to our new local mechanic in CT (we moved just after our baby was born due to me getting a job as a fireman in CT) and we were shocked to find out that less than 8,000 miles after buying the car, it needed front and rear brakes, pads, and rotors. We called Sun Chevy in Chittenango, and explained the situation. We sent the reassuring texts to them from our salesman (from time of purchase) and pictures of the metal on metal brakes/pads/rotors....we were met with no sympathy whatsoever. The response from the customer service rep named Jesse was "Dave does not work here any more, so we cannot vouch for what he promised you through the text messages." We asked to speak to the general manager, and was met with the response that he is on vacation and that they are not able to help us out in any way. They claim they stand behind their vehicles, but this does not show at all with the way we have been treated. It feels like they took full advantage of the fact that we trusted them and took their word. With full knowledge, they sold a car to my pregnant wife, knowing that there were repairs that needed to be done. I am disheartened and disgusted. - Michael S. read more

I went to Sun Chevy today to look/buy a 2016 Honda Accord. Josh made the experience very unpleasant. He would not budge on the trade in value... when I explained the lowest trade in value for my car on Kelly Blue Book was $1500, and they would only give $1000..he said, "Kelly Blue Book doesnt write checks". He made me feel degraded. When he knew there wasnt going to be a deal, he dangled my keys at me for me to take them and leave. I left there feeling very badly. My family and I have bought multiple vehicles here. Stupid me I never picked up my spare keys I left here after service sometime last year. Welp I lost my only set of keys and I was hoping they would have my extra set. Buying my vehicle I had great customer service. Well calling back because I was in a pinch, I talked to a April there and she was completely rude, took two minutes and said they are not here your going to have to call the Jeep dealership to get spare key(mind you that is $300 plus towing the vehicle out there). All I was asking was can you really look because they are there, she said if you just want assume they got thrown out if you want to I don't know what to tell you. Well my dad had to call and stop down then they found them in a box. Very disappointed in the customer service they gave me and I feel as if it's just my age that caused me to get the horrible service back. read more

Before you decide to purchase a vehicle at Sun Chevrolet please read our story. We went to Sun Chevrolet because they had advertised a $10,000.00 educator discount. GM was adding an additional $2,000.00. With the $2,100.00 that they would give us on our trade in, we felt pretty happy about our lease. That would give us about $14,100.00 off of the Silverado that we were going to lease. The purchase price of the Silverado was about $42,000.00. We were looking at a great savings, right? So we figured we'd be financing around $28,000. We were pretty happy. We found out that we had a monthly payment of about $350.00 for 39 months. We thought that was a little high...but we got a great deal. We really didn't pay very close attention to the details as the sales representative, Jessie Eckhard, told us everything we needed to know. He said we had to purchase the more expensive vehicle to get the full benefit of the $10,000.00 educator discount. When our lease was nearing the end, a family member told us where to look on our contract to find out what the residual value was on the vehicle. It was only then that we realized we had been deceived. That amount was $28,000.00. When filing a complaint after getting nowhere with Sun Chevrolet, we learned that the educator discount that we received was only $700.00. No where on the contract do we see any amount listed for an educator discount. We have taken this matter as far as we can. As of this date, we still have not received a call from the owner of the Sun Chevrolet, Todd Caputo. It is disappointing that in this day and age we still have dishonest people in car dealerships. Our advice to anyone who decides to deal with this dealership is to be sure to read your contract over carefully and have anything that you don't understand explained. Well this was just the 4th time trying to call this place since yesterday morning which was May 1st and she said she would have someone call me back I am looking to buy a brand new Silverado and I just called 3 more times today leaving messages and my phone number twice so obviously business is good but whatever going somewhere else I thought it was supposed to be a good experience with Sun Chevy but they just proved that to me too busy to call me back oh well will go somewhere else and that's why I'm giving a 1 star! Bought a 2014 Ford Focus in Aug 2016. Paid $3000 for extended warranty. My radio and sync went I have only had car 6m 9 days. I was told to take it to another dealership. Salesman tried to sell me another car 2014 Chevy Sonic but will not help me repair this car, Why would I buy another car from this dealership when the want me to shell out $100 to fix the car I already have? Now I know it is only a $100 but when my family mother father brother and multiple brother inlaws purchase from them. You would think they would eat the cost for a happy customer since I am shelling out @300+ a mon on a car payment that includes an extended warranty. No! I also will not be buying a 2nd vehicle from here. and I will gladly make sure to let everyone know not to buy any vehicles from them as well. I went to Sun Chevy to get my free birthday oil change . When they get done doing the oil change , they say I owe $44.25 . I say I'm a VIP member and my oil change is free for my birthday . They tell me they have restructured the VIP program and no longer give free oil changes for birthdays . I said I didn't get anything in the mail saying this has been changed . He points to a small picture frame notice on the end of the counter . I say my key chain still has the VIP list on it that states as long as I own my Sun Chevy vehicle I get free oil changes for my birthday . It's a contract and if you try to change a contract you should be notified by mail in writing . I would not buy or lease a vehicle from this place again . They can not keep their word and that is what a business is based on !!! Next thing you know they will not do warranty for free either ! read more

My wife and I both bought Jeeps here last year. The Jeep I bought first had a factory warranty issue that had to go to an actual Jeep dealership as Sun did not want to deal with it. Then we find out the "free birthday oil change or detailing" has to be scheduled out months in advance so we gave up on that. Never got either item for either vehicle. Then today I brought it in for my annual inspection after I did my brakes (not rotors) last weekend. When I bought my Jeep I was assured they put new brakes on before selling it to me. That was a lie. The rear rotors were pretty Rusty and I had to re grease the mechanics on the rear brakes. But I didn't do the rotors. My rotors failed inspection along with some little light that has not worked since I owned the car so I never knew it was there. It passed last year to get it sold without the light and with Rusty rotors though. The service people who call every few months to check and see how the Jeep is are nice enough and that appears to be going the extra mile, but this headache is quite a frustrating adventure. I would suggest checking the brakes and suspension in any vehicle bought by this dealership. And make sure the mileage is low enough that your new vehicle will still be honored under factory warranty at a real dealership. Good luck! read more

Well, I always feel that as long as the customer walks away feeling as though they got a good deal (whether they actually did or not), then it can't be all bad. Sun Chevrolet didn't have the truck I wanted on the lot, but after making the deal I wanted with my salesman Mike Majka, they were able to locate the truck I wanted and I was in it within the week. In all, friendly staff, a good selection of vehicles and ultimately, the proper amount of preperation, research & time spent there, may get you the deal you want. read more

I bought a used car during their April sale in which they were trying to set a sales record. I went in on Saturday morning after doing extensive research online for a particular vehicle and specifically scheduled my test drive. When I arrived, they were much more interested in creating this crazy environment of having the radio broadcast there. It really made if difficult to park and difficult to get around. All that was fine. I drove the car and loved it, except that the ignition key would stick when you turned the car off. I told him that I was interested if they fixed the ignition. I brought my wife back that day and signed a deal pending the ignition getting fixed. The deal was to pick the car up Tuesday if the repair as made. On Monday, I texted the sales rep to see if the repair would be done by my lunch or if I should plan on Tuesday after work. I was told that they were waiting on a part and it should be done by end of day Tuesday. I get there Tuesday, and the ignition still sticks. The salesman tells me that the part never came in and they would call me that week when it did come in. On Friday, I contact to see if the part is in and he schedules an appointment for Monday AM. I get there Monday AM and the service tech has no idea what I'm there for and no part was ordered. He does some looking around and determines that the ignition was replaced but that didn't fix the problem and that he'd need a few days to get approval from GM to make some repairs. I could not have been more pleased with the service department. However, the salesman flat out lied about the repairs and the status of the repairs. Instead of just fixing the car before I got it, he allowed me to pick it up to only have to turn the car off/on 3 times every time I shut it off to get the key out. I had to drive back to Chittenango to and ride their shuttle to get a rental car for 3 days so they could make the repairs. I called the manager in frustration over the whole situation. He quite frankly could care less and it was clear that once I bought the car, they weren't really concerned about me anymore. Instead of ever returning my call, the manager had the salesperson that I was calling about contact me which he wouldn't even call and only had the nerve to text me and ask me to call. That text went ignored and to this day (2 months later) I never heard anything from any of them. When I picked up my car the service tech was apologetic from the issue and basically said don't ever trust our sales team to tell you about service and ask to be referred to them directly next time. They go through all this trouble with all the PR and ads to get you in the door and once you sign the deal, they could have cared less that the sale was conditioned upon the ignition being fixed. The salesman in order to get the deal through, lied about the repairs that were or weren't done and made up more lies about parts in the mail. Would be very cautious to ever buy from them again. read more

I had a terrible experience here and will never be coming back. First, Dave said they were going to give me a certain amount for my trade in until the day came and then he said that he couldn't give me that much..so I had to come up with extra money to put down. Second, he told me I could pick it up at a certain time and that it would be all set for me to drive away with and guess what I sat there for two hours for them to finally tell me they could only clean the inside so I had to take the car to the carwash and clean the outside. 6 months later, my transmission blows which took them a whole MONTH to fix. After shelling out $3,000 for a new transmission, I receive a letter from Chevy saying that the wave plates in Equinox's are recalled..I called to tell them and try and get my money back and of course they gave me the run around. The only thing they did that satisfied me was actually give me the whole amount back from the transmission. I HIGHLY recommend finding another car dealership before choosing this one. read more
