I would give a zero but they don't let you. Buyer beware. Quality fireplace installed a fireplace in my home in 1999. Now that the fireplace needs repair I called them of course to service it. Long story short they have informed ,me that they are not certified to work on the fireplace they themselves installed.. they want me to buy a part from them and have a third party install it and at the same time when that third party works on it it nulls and void any warranty on their part. On top of this they have the gall to still charge me 249.00 to tell me they cannot service what they installed. I don't have a problem paying for services but really 249.00 to tell me they are NOT CERTIFIED TO WORK ON WHT THEY INSTALLED. This is really just bad bad business and I say BUYER BEWARE. I first contacted them on March 3rd through yelp and then we came in to view items they had in their store the following week and decided on a stove. Their shop then shut down for the month of April and mentioned they would resume operation on May. We contacted them again in May without any response. We started contacting other sellers in the area and we stumbled upon their upland location, to which they told us that Hemet has been open their whole time and referred us back to Hemet. After committing to a stove, we had to wait several weeks to get an appointment for someone to come by and measure the arrangement of the stove to ensure proper fit and also measured the roof for flashing. After the installers came they at the end of May, we spoke to Hemet and they later said that the roof flashing is excluded from this charge and we thought it was all included. Ok, we we hired a roofer to come out to do the flashing. After we purchased our stove, we were told that we'd have to pay extra for a thermostat. We were so disappointed and felt taken advantage of. read more

I had a really hard time finding a business to install a Legacy-brand gas insert. Only a few places sell and install them, and I called the closer stores and had no luck. That is, until reaching out to Quality Fireplace. They were very responsive and helpful in preparing my fireplace. Someone even came out to verify my measurements. It took a long time to have the insert arrive and have it installed, but that's not QF's fault. Things just take longer to order these days. I checked in from time to time, and they were very reassuring throughout. The day finally came to have it installed, we ran into a slight issue with the sizing of the insert and the fireplace. No problem! The install team made it all work and beautifully so. A few days after the install I noticed the sides of the insert had slid and called QF to ask for their help. It is a minor and cosmetic thing, that I might have been able to adjust myself, but I didn't want to risk it! Scheduling was a bit of a challenge, but they were able to come and fix it without any additional charge in less then 20 minutes. Really awesome place and nice, friendly team all the way around. This review is about the chimney sweep who "didn't bother" and the rude man named Dan who answered the phone. I had scheduled a chimney sweep. Waited a week and the day of appointment, Carol calls to cancel saying "he went by your place and looked at the chimney and deemed it unsafe to clean without a lift". I asked her when did he come by and she said that morning. I never saw anyone. I kept thinking this was the most ridiculous thing ever... and decided to look at BOTH my chimneys. The one we wanted cleaned has easy access. The one in front... "light bulb moment". He drove by... and saw THAT chimney. Without even ringing the doorbell to ask just left. I called the shop and this Dan guy answered. I asked if he could find out if the sweep really did come by and look at the chimney, because he would've had to come into the backyard. "Well lady, I would assume he looked at the chimney you told them to clean." They never asked us if we had more than one...didn't occur to us. He just kept arguing with me, and taking absolutely no responsibility. He SHOULD have said "oh I am so sorry, it wasn't noted you have two chimneys. Let me send someone back out for you and we can clear this up." But nope. In the middle of his long list of excuses.. I just said " you know...we'll just find someone else, thanks" and hung up. I've been without heat for a few years and trying to find someone to service me in Lytle Creek has been a nightmare. One company that did come up (from the high dessert) made things worse and wouldn't take responsibility. I went to Quality Fireplace and BBQ and spoke to Carol, and they were on it! They got the part that I needed and serviced my fire-stove. The technician, Danny, was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. We had them come out and install an ignition module in February 2019 paid over $500.00 with labor. We might have used it about 3 times in 2019. We went to turn it on December and it had the same problem that caused us to replace the module on their suggestion. My wife called and asked if they could do something like come out and look at the problem. The person that answered the call said we would have to pay for another service call and if we needed a new module we will have to pay for a new one. He was rude and he said" you know, I'm just going to refuse to help you then hung up. This type of customer service is unacceptable and everyone should know this is the way they do business. Wow!!! I highly recommend this business. I initially received a quote from my local fireplace install company that seems a bit high. I stopped in one day at Quality to get a rough estimate for a wood burning insert and a new chimney shoot. I was able to get a much higher quality insert with all the bells and whistles for $400 less than the other guys. Also, it took a little bit longer to schedule the install, but once the team arrived to install, I quickly realized that I had their full attention for the day. This company does not over schedule so the installers were able to take their time. The installers were very kind and courteous. They were very respectful of my delicate house and extremely clean! I purchased a new fireplace door and a new Glassburner from this store. When I first walked in and try to get help I was approached by a really rude chubby guy with glasses. He was very unprofessional and rude. I asked him if he was the owner and he said he wasn't as he walked around with a bad a.. Attitude, he had a very short and rude tone to my questions. He looked bother by customers and has no people skills. Just when I was about to walk out I was approached by another employee by the name of Jesse Bailon, and he was very helpful and professional and had a positive attitude so I ended up expending $700 just cause the right person Jesse Bailon approached me with the right attitude. Even after I finished my transaction the chubby guy with glasses was still rude and didn't want me to open any of the boxes I just had purchased. The only reason I'm giving the store three stars is due to their chubby guy's nasty attitude. If he would had no been there I would have giving them 5 stars. Bottom line. I would not give this business one star, which is a shame because I prefer to support local business instead of the 'big box' stores. I purchased some small items to repair my fireplace. First can of paint had no nozzle- returned for refund. second can would not spray - called the mfg and was told the can was YEARS out of date (2010 - this is 2017! ) returned for replacement - checked that it worked before leaving the store (no apology or discount was offered for my time) Now I am ready to use the mortar they sold me, and find it also is YEARS out of date - and requires heat cure! There are products from the same mfg that are suitable for this purpose that do not require heat cure - and it is the middle of summer with 100+ temps. I certainly dont want a 2hr fire in my fireplace, which is what this product requires. I am returning this to the store and that will be my LAST trip to this business! read more
