Bob was tremendous, at helping me choose the wright size piece of equipment for my needs. He always answered the phone or returned a phone call as soon as possible if he was with a customer. He was more than thorough, explaining every inch of the equipment, its uses and how to maintenance it. They offered a competitive price wright out the door without having to haggle or barter. For a project costing approximately $36,000, I expected a more thorough pre-installation process. In my opinion, someone from Tropicana should have visited the site before fabrication or delivery to verify measurements, confirm utility locations, and ensure the structure would fit properly in the designated area. A simple site inspection could have identified potential issues before installation. There was a measurement discrepancy that required the unit to be modified. I appreciate that Tropicana corrected the issue at no additional cost, and I want to acknowledge that they did take responsibility for making that correction. However, the larger concern was the lack of clarity regarding utility hookups. I was later referred to information on the back page of the contract regarding these requirements, but I never received or reviewed that page during the purchasing process. Had those details been clearly provided and discussed upfront, I could have made the necessary preparations before delivery and installation. Because the island was installed without identifying these access challenges beforehand, I have incurred additional costs. My electrician charged an additional $300 due to the difficulty accessing the electrical connection, and I now need to hire a plumber for approximately $500 because the access area is too confined for me to complete the plumbing connections myself. The Tropicana team has been responsive and professional in addressing some of these issues, and I appreciate their willingness to work through problems. However, for a premium product at this price point, I believe the installation process should include a site verification and a much clearer discussion of customer responsibilities before installation begins. The island itself looks great, and I hope to enjoy it for many years. My feedback is intended to help Tropicana improve the customer experience for future customers investing in a significant backyard project.

Justin, if you're seeing this, the crew that come out to Hacienda Heights was awesome! In regards to our experience: I originally was looking online at Tuff Shed, since that's the brand you see at the local hardware stores. I also looked at a few other ones and was almost about to bite the bullet for a customized Tuff Shed, but decided to do one last search *just in case*. Fortunately I came across Shed World. I saw that they had a showroom which was great because I was having a hard time envisioning the shed in the limited space I had (with strict HOA). My dad and I made a drive out to their showroom and was immediately greeted by Zujey, who then took us out on a little golf cart ride to various models. We got the general idea but figured we had to customize the height a bit. After returning to the office area, they started the design process. The owner, Justin, came out to say hi and let us know some height limitations on building, especially if we wanted a residential door on the shed. They originally told us that the build was a couple months out, but we asked to be put on the "as soon as possible" list and it was ready within weeks (we probably got lucky). Days before, they called and verified the date for the build and let us know that due to possible traffic they might arrive a little later than anticipated. On the day of, they arrived at 9am and started getting to work immediately. Yes, there was some sawdust as some concerned Karen noted in their negative feedback, but it was organic and manageable. The crew cleaned up the best they could, which honestly left the street cleaner than they arrived. The total build including their lunch break, took about 5 hours. Super fast and efficient crew. My dad and I were in awe with how fast it was. Quality is definitely there, granted they built it from scratch. I had a slight concern where one of the side panels was attached a little "buckled" against the bottom, but they have a lifetime warranty on the shed so if it ever does cause problems, I have the peace of mind to know I can just call. Once the siding/trim went on, you couldn't tell at all. If I ever have friends/family who need a shed built, I'm definitely referring them to Shed World, and no I wasn't paid to say this. :)

My fiancé found a design of interest online that we decided to make a version of for her crafting needs. I could not find a large table sourced from any local businesses like Home Depot, Lowes, or anywhere else. I needed something of rectangular dimensions of 5'x10' so we got a series of quotes from several businesses. Let me outright say avoid big box tops like Lowes and Home Depot because we could not get anyone in their kitchen departments to work with us in a timely manner or with any level of competence on a custom order and their laminates are out of line on price. Other table and kitchen businesses proved hard to work with too and highly flakey. Tom is the main wood-shop worker with McGinnis and he asked for all my specs and requirements right off the bat and his wife was easy to work with on email to set everything up for me on my custom order. They answer their phones promptly and get right back to you on email. We needed a specialized hole cut with a counterbore hole as well for a flush retractable power outlet we decided to instal ourselves to bring power into the table. To bore these holes into the table, other shops would not touch the idea of doing the counterbore .1" depth hole. Most guys would not even considering the thought saying they are not a drilling shop with the tools. Tom said no problem at all and being a great wood worker with superior skills. He routed out our counterbore hole in the table and laminate by hand to almost perfect specs for what we requested. I made a small tweak with my own router because Tom didn't get a chance to have my outlet in hand while doing the work for a perfect fit but I'm quite sure he would have redone things if I had asked without question. It was such a small tweak that I took care of it myself to make our outlet fit flush in the counterbore hole like a glove. No complaints at all because Tom got me 99.9% of the the way there without any fuss. Truly a superior skillset on Tom's part to do this kind if precision work. The laminate table it outstanding workmanship on MDF type material. I built a center support out of wood and two shelfs on each side to hold up the table this business made for us. I had hoped not to have to make the center support but the table started to droop slightly under its own weight so more of my own design fault for such a large span table. Building a center support on a 10' table was no issue at all (see pics) so I made one to match the shelfs I built and the whole thing looks great. I liked that Tom and his wife ask for everything on email to see what needs to be done and clarifies everything we needed done over the phone before going to it. These guys have a small business feel that catered to all of our needs including delivery right into our craft room because the table is quite heavy. I wanted to make sure the table would not move around so Tom routed out pocket holes in the underneath side of the table that were sized and fitted to wood tabs I placed on the shelfs I built to fit on the table. Everything went together great! Tom made sure what I built fit together with what he fabricated. My fiancé and her friends are already crafting everything like a madhouse. A big thank you to this shop for their great woodworking skills, laminate skills, and all around helpfulness to make my fiancé's dream a reality. Would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone needing a custom project or table. See our pictures of the final project.
