Not the best experience in purchasing a mattress. You would think they would have it down to a science. When the sales contract was written up, it was grossly overpriced. I had to cut and slash to get it in my price range. Delivery in two weeks. Fine. I went home to figure out what went wrong. For a California King, Gilbert charged me for 2 queen size box springs. Should have been 2 twins. Received a phone call from Gilbert, delivery pushed back another two weeks. Any more delays and will cancel order and ask for refund. Best part of story is mattress delivered in third week by very courteous gentleman who set up new mattress and hauled away old mattress. From my personal experience, go elsewhere for a mattress. Visited Howard's on a Saturday - Anthony E. assisted my wife and myself at the store, knew his products, answered questions w/o sales pressure and was very helpful. They had the LG fridge we wanted in stock and delivered it (no fee to deliver) the following Monday - 2 days later . . Delivery gave me updates on ETA time, was fast, took care w my new unit and hauled away old one for $40! Also, Anthony worked out the credit details (a breeze) to put fridge on payments. Howards Citrus St, Covina Store had been recently remodeled, was immaculate and well stocked w the brands worth buying. I am so disgusted on how customers are treated now a days. No more good honorable companies out there. I purchased a washer/dryer from Howards. I drove a little ways because the Howards store in my area closed down. I drove specifically to Howards because they used to offer exceptional service. So sorry to say that I can no longer say that I purchased a 5 year warranty on my appliances. No one told me that the plan does not go into effect until after the manufacturing warranty. When I called to register the appliances I was told I had to pay an additional $192. for the manufactory warranty. What is going on here!!!!! How on earth are companies getting away with this nonsense. My dryer became unleveled, not sure how, I had the dryer for four weeks at that time so I called the office and spoke with Serena who advised me that the company would have to charge me to come out and level the dryer I made a fuss about it and so she had store manager Edward call me back who advised me of the same. Well, I made a fuss about it again, I said all the money that I spent in the store and they want to charge me..... I stated if it were only a dollar I would not have paid for it because it is the principal of doing business. They waived the charge and came and leveled the dryer, however, I still am disappointed with the service level. Keep the customer informed, be transparent to the customer because eventually the truth will be revealed. Sorry Howard, you have lost my business. I will not be back to buy anything else from this company. read more

Came in on a sizzling hot Saturday afternoon after my 4 year old Samsung fridge decided to die on me. Upon entering, AMI greeted me and without pressure, offered to help me and/or answer any questions I might have while looking for a new fridge. After quickly going through their inventory, I decided to look at Home Depot for other options (HD has a much smaller inventory to choose from, though prices are pretty comparable) and told AMI that I'll keep in touch. She gave me her business card. I came back to Howard's after HD and this time brought my Mom to help me make a decision. Again AMI was very helpful and I never felt that she was trying to upsell me on anything. I ended up going with a really nice GE PROFILE unit. We set up for delivery the following Monday (2 days later) along with installation and haul away of my dead Samsung. From beginning to end I was so pleased with my experience at Howard's. I recently purchased an LG refrigerator here. It was a wonderful experience from purchase to delivery and installation! Gilbert, the product specialist who assisted me, was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Howards has their own delivery service which made a huge difference, not like the nightmare experience I had with Home Depot, who uses a third party delivery service. Living in between two different Howards locations, I decided to try out the Covina store and I am very satisfied with the service I have received and will definitely return if I need to replace any other household appliances. I walked into the store with the intention of just pricing a refrigerator, stove, and microwave and left with a delivery date for all three items. The Store Manager, Anthony, was very helpful and provided excellent service. The delivery for all three appliances were quick and efficient. I decided to return to Howards after dealing with another company for the following reasons: 1) When I called Howard's customer service phone number, I actually spoke to someone located in Southern CA who listened to my concerns and got the issues resolved in a timely manner. 2) Delivery was quick and the people who came to deliver were kind. (My washer and dryer purchased from another company took months to deliver and their customer service in a far, far away place was not helpful and I didn't feel like a valued customer at all). 3) Even after the delivery, my family and I feel comfortable enough to call Howard's to ask questions as we get to know our new appliances. 4) Anthony taught me what to look for when purchasing appliances - his patience and knowledge are greatly appreciated. Howard's is the GREATEST store on earth! This is a long time coming. I first met Howard about 20 years ago at the Montclair store, which is now gone. We live in Upland and the Covina store is nearby. I was a single dad with two kids and tired of going to the laundromat. Money was tight and with my tax refund we went to Howard's appliances. We liked a certain washer and dryer, but it cost more than we could afford. I didn't know it but Howard was watching and listening to us. We went to the more economical set and Howard asked why we didn't want the first set. We explained it was more than we could afford and Howard said we could have the first washer and dryer because it was on sale today only! Thank YOU Howard for helping us when we were down.
