    New Bosch Air Handler
    Scott W.

We have lived in our Diamond Bar home for 25yrs and unfortunately the Amana 5-ton, 16-SEER HVAC system we had installed in JAN 2016 abruptly died after only eight yrs of service because the company that we hired improperly installed it- The air handler was tightly compressed into a compact furnace closet with only 1" of usable room to intake air...This forced the old system to work much harder than necessary and ultimately led to its abrupt systemic death in the Fall of 2023. We received multiple estimates from HVAC companies like Service Champions and Lennox (via Costco), and we were astonished at the steep prices- Upwards of $30,000!!!! If I were still working (I was an award-winning executive with Ernst & Young and Goldman Sachs during my career until I was badly injured in a 7-car accident on the 605 FWY when a speeding teen poleaxed my car from behind), we could've easily absorbed the cost. However, a decade into fixed-income, forced retirement, we were stuck. Enter QUALITY CONSERVATION SERVICES (QCS) who, working under the auspices of a state-administered program in conjunction w/ SCE, gloriously outfitted us with: -A Bosch 5-ton, 24-SEER air handler/condenser, heat pump based system; -An 80g Bradford White Electric Water Heater with Expansion Valve; -New 220v Electrical panel, to support our home's electrification project; -Snazzy Ecobee Smart Thermostat; -Replacement Fire Alarm & Carbon Monoxide alarms for every room in our home From the outset, the team of professionals at QCS embraced the unique challenges that my 60yr old home and tightly compressed furnace closet presented. Workers ANTHONY MOLINA and SEBASTIAN were exceedingly professional and courteous to me during the initial home assessment phase, which took around four weeks, start to finish. QCS Administrative Assistant ALEXIS AYALA was consistently patient and responsive to me during the application and approval process...which, for the faint of heart, does require three-plus months after you've submitted your completed application. Based on our documented high energy usage and our income situation, we were ultimately approved for the "Building Electrification Program," offered by So Cal Edison in coordination with QCS. The entire project took a seven-person team four full days to install. QCS dispatched a skilled squadron of professional tradesmen (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc) to perform our work. Workers KYLE, JORDAN, ANTHONY, SEBASTIAN, MAC and ARTURO were fixtures at our home for four full days. All of these young men were conscientious, courteous, and respectful at every turn. Special kudos belong to the tandem of KYLE & JORDAN, who acted like the field supervisors of the group. Both gentlemen kept me updated when little setbacks transpired and both worked overtime to helm the project to its on-time installation on day four. For the record, we were mildly disappointed with communication challenges poised by the electrician in the group...who shall be (publicly) unnamed, but I will be contacting QCS directly to express my concerns w/ this individual, separately. If you meet the program guidelines, then QCS and their Building Electrification Program may well be the answer to all of your heating + cooling needs! The program also assists with replacing gas-powered appliances (like washers/dryers and ovens) with energy-star certified electric ones. My bride of twenty eight yrs and I feel deeply blessed to have found QCS! If you possess the industriousness to comply with all of the slightly onerous paperwork requirements and the patience to power through a wait of three to six months while QCS funnels your project through the no-doubt serpentine, government/utility company bureaucracy...then, yes, they could well be as HEROIC a solution for you as they were for us!!!

We had an excellent experience with JMartin Indoor Air Quality, LLC. I will post separate reviews…read morefor each individual involved in the process of selecting and working with JMartin. Jesus did the free cinsultation to address our problem. He did an excellent job representing JMartin throughout the process. He took the time to clearly explain the differences between the various systems and helped us understand why certain options made more sense for our needs. What stood out most was that we never felt oversold. He was honest about what we needed now, what could wait until later, and even what we should avoid doing and why. His attention to detail and knowledge of the products and design process reflected the high level of service JMartin aims to provide. He also identified a concern that other vendors missed, which gave us additional confidence in his expertise and in proceeding with JMartin. He was able to secure a price lock for a project we plan to do later in the year, ensuring we won't be affected by the upcoming price increase. Shay completed our first scheduled maintenance within the promised timeframe and was both informative and knowledgeable during the visit. He communicated clearly, answered questions thoroughly, and demonstrated technical understanding. His professionalism and efficiency reflected positively on the company. Michael and Frankie performed the scope of work. They removed and replaced all of our air ducts, opened up the intake grill, and installed chicken wire in the outdoor furnace. From start to finish, they were professional, respectful, and incredibly thorough. They arrived within the promised timeframe, wore boots and protected our floors, and completely cleared out the attic before designing a much more efficient airflow duct system. Everything was neatly suspended instead of left on the attic floor, and they even replaced all the vents. What really stood out was their attitude and communication. Michael and Frankie took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently answered all of our questions without ever making us feel like we were bothering them. They were always friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. When the job was finished, they cleaned everything up perfectly and even hauled away all the old ducting bagged up, leaving absolutely no trash behind. That level of care and respect for our home was truly appreciated. I highly recommend JMartin Indoor Air Quality, LLC, and especially the Michael & Frankie team. Outstanding workmanship, excellent customer service, and genuinely talented respectful people. We will also be working with JMartin in the future when it's time to deep-clean and insulate the attic. I am glad we found them!

And they cleaned up the job site afterward And, I am very happy with the concealed AC condensation drain line. It will be concealed behind the drywall in the garage. It drains directly into the laundry drain. Hats off for a job well done. Also, a shout out to Jesus Ochoa for arranging interest-free, 18-month financing.
