Ricardo from Ameriwest Home Services came to our home today to inspect our heating and air conditioning units. I liked how friendly he was from the beginning. We signed up for a "free" inspection and tune up of our equipment, but I know that often these coupons are the hook so they can run up the price on some "problem" they find. I was pleasantly surprised that Ricardo found two small problems that made complete sense. He went over what he found clearly, showing me pictures. In the end, I opted to do the work, but Ricardo was never high pressure. He presented the two problems and asked me respectfully if I wanted Ameriwest to do the work. When he finished, he was able to demonstrate that our air conditioner was more efficient. Thank you, Ameriwest for not trying to con us, as so many businesses are doing right now. I highly recommend reconsidering the use of Ameriwest Home Services for your AC maintenance needs. Tried them out for a tune up service because they were a referral and I had high hopes but in the end I was met with another technician trying to upsell and tack on additional charges by playing around with the invoice. First Hector, quoted me $350 for a capacitor replacement, this is already on the higher end. Add up the $80 service charge and you have around $450 with the 3% charge for using a credit card. He then tried to add another $100 saying I was misquoted, mind that this is after the agreed upon price and after the installation. After pushing back and saying I'm not paying that, the tech said they spoke to management and it was an error and they decided to charge what I was quoted. WHAT THE HECK?! That is NOT how you do business. You just lost a potential future customer! They said it was a mistake but the tech has been doing this job for many years, this isn't his first job. After receiving 3 different HVAC quotes and AmeriWest being the second one, we chose them over the others for their exceptional customer service during our initial visit. After a walkthrough was conducted by their team, we were provided a quote for an entire replacement of our unit include ducting. Gerson and his team were extremely patient and took to the time to explain the options in detail even after we asked a million questions, haha. After reviewing the options, we decided to proceed with their gold package which was a little out of price range, but we liked the upgrades and qualified for their 6 month no interest financing which was another great option and huge plus for us. While the install was happening, I decided to make a last-minute change to the location of my condenser. Feeling extremely bad about the change and worried about delays, Gerson and his team were entirely understanding. They were able to add an additional base that was needed for the condenser placement and run additional coper without hesitation. They not only accommodated the change but were able to complete the job without delays. These guys are the best. Gerson was working on a project across the street, lucky me! We had a brand new system put in this February but it was compromised by a little guy, a mouse got in the system. The smell. He evaluated the system, why would we get a mouse? We don't know the exacts of how but in the process he told me our ducts were not installed well, they were leaking air, sloppy in so many ways, some of the ducting was not replaced! We decided to give him a shot at it, the before pictures were not good and honestly the lack of any air coming out of our vents made me think he was right. They were amazing! First, cleaned the attic for two days! Allowed us to get another company in to secure the attic and our home in general from any additional 4 legged intruders. After that they installed a system that is so much more effective, they installed dampers that can direct flow according to what is needed where. The ducts are secured off the attic floor, they are bigger and better insulated. Everything was replaced and redesigned! The proof. The air coming out of our registers is a whole new level. They did what they said they could do and they did not trash the previous company, they very nicely said things could be much better. They were right. Don't hesitate, they know what they are doing. I had a major leak in my attic caused by my AC unit. My unit had been leaking without my knowledge. It was in the middle of a major heatwave. I was desperate to get it fixed. I made a call to Gerson who came out in the evening, just 45 min after my call. He informed me that even though I was getting my unit serviced every year, they just put a bandaid over what was a horrible install to begin with. I went with my gut and hired him that same day. He was able to fit me in within that same week to install the new unit. Gerson and his team worked all day and into the late late night to get the new unit installed. He showed me pictures of the original install that was done all wrong and how my cold air was not filling up my house but my attic. This was October 2019, Gerson, his father, and two brothers came to install a brand new 5 ton Lennox A/C and furnace. They did an excellent job installing and making sure it was clean. Gerson went into the attic to make sure my ducts were in good working condition. He straighten couple of them out for better airflow at no charge. Few days later, my system would shut off and restart. He came back and was able to troubleshoot the problem and fixed it. Now August 2020, for some reason the airflow wasn't as strong from the vents. I called and Gerson's father and one of his brothers came to fix the problem and it is working fine.
