This was my first time calling in for a carpet cleaning service. With more than a decade's worth of grime baked into the floor and stairs, I had my doubts anything could be done to salvage the carpet and figured I'd need to just replace it outright. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My experience with Quality Carpet Care was top notch from the moment I submitted a quote inquiry via Yelp app.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner, Johnny responded within the hour to my first message. Multiple appointment slots were also included in his response to facilitate planning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After electing for the next day appointment, I received messages via the app up until Johnny's arrival. I was delighted to have the real time status updates.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The operation is entirely self sufficient and run out of a cargo van. Massive generator on the vehicle powered all the machines. Just needed an outside water spout. There was a 4 stage (most vendors do not offer all 4) process involved: spraying a citrus scented degreaser agent to the flooring, agitating the stains with a broom like brush, the actual steam cleaning with a vacuum-like device connected to a continuous steamer, a finishing "sweep" of all flooring. Incredibly, 10+ years of hard stains vanished and once the carpets dried two days later, the flooring in my house had a new carpet "feel". Not just the smell but actual bouncy feel. Suffice it to say, the service that Johnny offered was 200% value added. He's also the most personable guy I have ever met and is from the LA area. I am glad I had called Johnny and wish I had done so sooner. Note that there may be some confusion due to Steve being mentioned in some Yelp reviews. Johnny just recently acquired the business from Steve. According to Johnny, he does both residential and commercial office cleaning. To start Steve sold his business and his client list. I totally trusted Steve would pick someone to carry on his company's good name. Turns out thats not the case. Johnny's a smooth talker but apparently never learned how to properly clean a carpet. Two days later visible lines of whatever Johnny sprayed showed up on several places leaving obvious circular lines. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We texted and even sent photos, but never heard back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This all happened just prior to a Mother's Day celebration causing us to pay someone else to remove the stains left from Johnny's chemicals. His hours are posted Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., but apparently those are just for decoration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tried dropping off my rug Monday morning, but his wife had other plans. She wanted to take her mother for a pedicure, so she asked me to come by later in the afternoon[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I finally dropped it off, 1 politely mentioned that we don't wear shoes in the house. Before I could even finish, Steve cut me off with, "I clean rugs in the garage and close it off so no one goes in!" Rude, but I let it go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He promised the rug would be ready by Monday. I didn't get a call until Wednesday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I scheduled a pickup for Friday at 9 a.m., Steve agreed-then called back saying his wife "had to step out" and wouldn't be back until noon. I said fine, l'd come at 8:30 a.m. instead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I arrived, my rug was sitting on top of his trash can. I dropped it off wrapped in a bed sheet, and it wasn't even wrapped when I picked it up. For someone who doesn't even allow shoes in the house, that's filthy and disrespectful. His wife offered to have Steve clean it again and even said she'd take a picture of him doing it. Suddenly, later that same day, Steve calls saying my rug would be ready for pickup that evening at 5 p.m. I asked about the picture, since his wife said it'd take a couple of days. He snapped, "What's the problem here? I don't have a picture." The problem, Steve, is that my rug was sitting on your trash can. His reply? "It's not dirty-it wasn't on there long." I told him I'd pick it up the next day, but he said I couldn't because it was his grandson's birthday and they'd be closed. So I came that same day at 5 p.m. anyway and asked for a discount-reasonable, considering: 1. My rug wasn't ready on time. 2. I found it on top of a trash can. 3. I made multiple unnecessary trips. 4. His "business hours" seem to mean nothing. He refused any discount--proof that he doesn't value his customers or their time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To make things worse, Steve kept trying to redirect the conversation to my boyfriend, who was just there to load the rug. Either he's a coward or a misogynist--maybe both. Considering he couldn't handle a direct conversation with a woman, so he hid behind passive comments like "I feel sorry for your boyfriend."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I actually didn't want my boyfriend to step in because I thought it would be unfair to gang up on an elderly man BUT clearly, Steve's ego needed backup. I'm sure he'll jump at the opportunity to respond with excuses, twist the story, and say I was "so rude." At this point, it's obvious: this "business" isn't built on professionalism, it's built on optional hours, excuses, and outdated pride. I think it's time to retire Steve. read more

I wish I could give Steve 10 stars instead of 5. Not only is he personable and skilled at what he does, he is reliable, showed up on time, his prices are reasonable for the hard work he put in and he did not overpromise the results and the time it would take. Our couch and rug was in desperate need of cleaning, complete with stains that I was sure would be very difficult if not impossible to get out. Steve worked his magic and our couch looks new again and the brilliance in our carpet's color scheme was renewed to its original luster. Basically, you cannot get better than Steve.
