I think it's still good, but I miss the buffet and cheesy potato soup. The burger is good. My review is mostly based on when they had cheesy potato soup and the buffet. Anytime you go there now it's basically a ghost town. And for a reason. I'm assuming they lost a ton of money doing the buffet, but it was a huge bringer of traffic. I miss it dearly. Walked in the back door, not much direction as to where to go to find a seat, took it upon ourselves to go to the front of the store and there we found the hostess who promptly seated us in the back, where we walked in Food was alright, ordered the boneless wings and they were meaty and plentiful, another member of our party ordered the Mac n Cheese burger and he really enjoyed that. Over all it was a good dining experience just need to have a sign or something in the back telling people to go to the front to be seated. read more

Myself and 11 other guests were seated in the restaurants "closed in outdoor area" today on December 28th at 6:30pm. Our server greeted us and got our initial drink order and app order, things were going smoothly... after about 20 minutes our apps came and they were hot and delicious and she took our food order. This is where things went south. We gave our food order and the table next to us sat down... we waited and waited... didn't see our server again until 7:45. The table that sat next to us received their food. By 7:50pm we finally started getting cold food. Our neighbors were already eating dinner at this point and it was hot and steamy. We never were offered refills and had to get our drinks from the bar ourselves. I got a manager and she was super sweet and she did give us 20% off. The issue is the excuse was that they were so busy and only had 3 servers and ours was a newer server. If it's busy that is fine but to continue seating guests knowing they aren't going to receive relatively good service is surprising to me. Putting guests on a wait would have been more ideal rather than just putting butts in seats to be forgotten about. My family and friends will likely not return to this location. read more

With a gift card in hand visited the new QSL in boardman for a late aftn lunch. Only had about a half hour ,so went to the bar. Didn't get much attention ,was in my construction clothes so "unappealing" got ignored by bar server twice ,while her mgr and fellow bar maid continued to chat with an obvious HEAVY HITTER also sitting there. So ,3 Pair of eyes - 10 min & no service ,finally get service, only cus another guest sat next to me. Running tight on time order a soda and to go order of hot garlic wings. Now they don't specifically have that sauce ,no sweat a small fee is required ,okay - IT'S MY BIRTHDAY ,i GOTTA GIFT CARD They take awhile ,longer than they should ,well maybe even more longer than they should - seems they've sat in a window getting cold. No apologies ,or even a who cares.... order being paid for I'm going back to work. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Waitress smelled like cigarettes. Never introduced herself to my party. Food was severely undercooked and mushy. There was no one at the restaurant!! How was it so bad? I still don't know her name. She didn't want a table or something I guess. Manager said he was new to the place and he gave us a gift card so I will cut the guy some slack. He needs to put a lot of work in to fix how bad this place has gotten. I have a gift card I will probably never use. Because I will never go back. Went here yesterday with my mom for lunch. This is a new location I believe. Mom says it used to be Cheddars. Anyway, the decor is typical car stuff just like the rest of the QS&L locations. The restaurant is clean and there are tons of tables. I can't imagine you'd ever have to wait for a table here. They also have outdoor seating. First, we ordered drinks. I got iced tea and mom got mango lemonade. I tried a sip of her drink and was jealous! Definitely getting that next time! For lunch, I got the grilled chicken wrap with Arizona Ranch sauce and a side of fries. I should have gotten a side salad instead. Their fries are ok...maybe I'm just picky about fries, I don't know; these are not my favorite. The fries are a strange texture. Not to sound snooty but I prefer fresh cut fries and these were most likely frozen. The wrap was very good. It was a wheat wrap with grilled chicken, carrots, lettuce, celery, blue cheese, and Arizona Ranch. I didn't care much for the sauce but I'm glad I tried something now. I usually get the Louisiana Lickers sauce (it's pretty amazing!!). Mom ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and said she really liked it. After dinner, they bring you warm moist towelettes and Twizzlers. I know Twizzlers don't exactly refresh your breath or anything but they're still yummy! Overall, perfect place to stop for lunch! I'd give this restaurant four stars, only because, it's my very first time eating there...I'd give it, it's props though. The waiter was kind & very patient. Even though, I didn't like where we were sitting, but, that's ok. I got over it, once he went ahead & brought our food. I went to dinner w/my mum. I've ordered, Medium Hot wings, Baked beans, Mashed potatoes w/gravy & ribs ( Didn't want the ribs so, I handed them over to my mum ) The wings were okay, they needed more sauce because, they were a bit dry. I also ordered a Rootbeer. For that, they don't have regular cups they have bottles and straws. For my very first experience there, they did well. The service was amazing. We keep going back here, I'm not entirely sure why. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Tuesday wing nights at the Lube were a staple; but this location does not live up to the QSL standard. We've probably visited 5 times in the last two years, and every single time our food has been cold. We decided to stop here at this location on our way back from visiting family for Turkey day. It was a toss up between this place and the original location, but since this was the closest off the highway for us we went here. The place wasn't busy and we were seated right away. I liked the atmosphere of the place with all the decor geared towards the sports theme. A nice variety of wing flavors to choose from and the shrimp app we got was served to us in an "egg" carton which was neat. All the food was good and I would return. I was really disappointment with the layout of this location though. We sat in a high top booth near the restrooms. If you are just visiting this place for the first time you wouldn't know that there is an entire other section with a bar around to the left. Basically, the layout doesn't allow you see and know everything about the place. read more

They forgot The sauces we paid for, the sides that went along with the meals, both orders of wings were the wrong flavor and the salad had ingredients on it that were asked to be removed. Two words...Extremely Disappointing. When my boyfriend and I walked in we waited a minute for someone to greet us, despite the place looking empty. A gentleman greeted us and grabbed two menus and walked us towards the bar area. As we got there he asked us if we wanted a table or a booth, when I said we'd prefer a table, he handed me the menus and said "yeah, go ahead and pick any table you want" and then walked away. We surveyed the tables that were available and all of them looked dirty and unorganized. We finally chose a table, which half of it had some food and crumbs left on it and looked like it hadn't been wiped down. Although it was off putting I proceeded to try and enjoy myself as we had been to this location exactly a year ago and I LOVED it!! I began looking at the menu and realized that they didn't have the Mac and cheese burger that I'd enjoyed so much the last time. The waitress then came over and took our drink orders, mine a strawberry margarita and my boyfriend got a water with lemon. When they arrived I got what I'd ordered, but my boyfriends lemon was missing. We continued to look at the menu and when the waitress came back we got the fried pickles as an appetizer and I ordered the skillet Mac and cheese while my boyfriend ordered the fish (cod) and chips. When I ordered the Mac and cheese, I told the waitress no sauce, because the description had said it would be "drizzled with your choice of sauce". When I said no sauce the waitress looked and me like I had two heads and said "what?". I said it says it'll be drizzled with your choice of sauce and she said, that's only if you get it with chicken. Well not according to the menu, but what do I know. Then as my boyfriend was ordering he asked the waitress how the fish and chips were, he was mainly asking about the fish, as fries are pretty standard. But the waitress proceeds to inform us that the fries were going to be darker than normal, because the oil hadn't been changed for a little bit and was old...GROSS!! Who admits that??!! We should've left at that point. Then my boyfriend asked how the fish was and she responds with, "well, people like it". I'd been super excited for the Mac and cheese as I'd loved it on the burger the last time. When I got it, it was like warm and tasted pretty bland, nothing special about it, plus the noodles were undercooked and chewy, so I barely touched it. I enjoyed some of my boyfriends cod, which wasn't too bad, but I've had better. Then as I was finishing my margarita, I realized that they'd given me a super tall cup, with a straw that was too short, making it too hard to finish my drink, which upset me as I like to get my money's worth. Then the waitress came over and saw that we were finishing up so she brought us the check, but never once offered or asked us if we wanted a box, so I left the mediocre Mac and cheese that'd only been 1/4 touched. Service was very slow, which was shocking because the place was dead. Although that in and of itself was a huge shock seeing as it was about 10:30pm on a Saturday night It was an extremely sad experience as the year before I'd loved it and couldn't wait to go back. The only positive from this experience was the bartender. Attentive and kept my glass full. Food was cold/died in the window. Didn't feel like waiting any longer to have it re-fired. Absulotley horrible. We went on their live music night. Service and music were perfect. The food was pathetic. I ordered a bucket of hot and haute parm. The hot wings were a pathetically horrible. I was embarrassed to eat them. They were dry and tasteless. The haute parm was just a horrible flavor combination but well sauced. You used to be the leader in wings but oh how your quality has completely gone to nothing. You won't be in business much longer if you don't fix this. All you needed to do was actually sauce your wings well. Then you charge 15.99 for 14 of these garbage wings. Their worth about .10 cents a wing. I'll never come here again. read more

I've been here a couple times, and thought the food is good but I feel that for the money you're paying for a lot of novelty of them being a semi local company and to pay for the cars that hang from the ceiling. The sauces are okay, but I've had much better at mom and pop wing places. My girlfriend and I went out to dinner here and spent close to $70.00 and left feeling extremely underwhelmed, the wings weren't overly large and as I mentioned, the sauces didn't make me jump out of my seat. We now go to Buffalo Wild Wings, right up the street and get the exact same meal with better sauces for half the price. read more

Just left the Boardman location......all I can say is ewww. Our first clue should have been the fact there was no waiting and plenty of empty tables at 6pm on a Saturday night in a busy shopping area. Empty tables were dirty and when we requested to sit somewhere that was warmer than the enclosed patio they said they would find someone to clean it. I went to the restroom and the tables were still dirty when I returned. Apparently they couldn't find anyone to bus the tables. We agreed to sit on the patio only to find more dirty tables. We were told to pick any table. The waiter was nice enough but he wasn't in any hurry to get anywhere. I inquired about the cheesesteak sandwiches, one of my favorites at Quaker Steak, since I did not see one on the menu. The waiter said the menus had been updated but it would be no problem to get one. Pretzel appetizers came out fine and my husband was happy with his wings but it was a totally different story with the cheesesteak. In fairness to the cook I have since found out the original authentic Philly cheesesteak was made with cheese whiz but I have NEVER gotten cheese whiz on a cheesesteak at any other Quaker steak location. The waiter took it back for me without any issues but I was still a bit grossed out by the dried out plastic looking cheese. From the look on his face it's safe to say the waiter was as grossed out as I was. Quaker Steak is one of our favorite restaurants, we've been to a number of locations from Erie, PA to Columbus, Ohio but the Boardman location is not one we'll visit again. I just wish I had remembered to grab the receipt as we left so I could make a proper complaint to the corporate office. We were happy to leave and would recommend anyone with a taste for wings take the time to drive over to the Austintown location. I wish we had. read more

I've never had quaker steak and lube before so I thought I'd give this place a try. NEVER AGAIN. Sat in the resurant for 15 minutes and was never once approached by a waitress. Then a couple people came in after I had already been sitting there 15 minutes and a waitress immediately came to their table so I left. I talked to the manager and they weren't very helpful either so I doubt I will ever be going here again. Next time I feel like trying this food I'll just go to Pittsburgh and hope its not as terrible. read more

Classic example of a restaurant that got "too big for their britches". I used to go to the QS&L express weekly for well over a year. I love wings! For some time deserved the title Best Wings USA. I started going there less and less as their prices kept going up. When I'm paying filet minion prices for a compact bucket, I'm going to get a filet minion instead. The quality of the wings seems to have gone down as the prices have gone up, which has made eating elsewhere an easier decision. I was never happy with the service at the new location in Boardman. I normally ate at the bar and the bartenders always seemed so busy chatting it up with their regulars and coworkers, that they neglected their job. Last March I had a really bad experience. The wings, although large and plump, were dry and chewey, as if they were reheated. There was very little sauce on the wings. I complained and all I got were two small containers of "extra sauce" If I'm paying a premium price I expect a premium product with premium service... that did not fit the bill. Since that experience I haven't been back, but decided to give em a try last week to see if they shaped up. Sat at the bar, got a glass of water pretty quick and expressed my interest in getting wings and told the bartender that I needed a moment to decide what flavors I wanted. It took her forever to get back to me. After she stopped to take the order of a man who sat at the bar after I decided what I wanted to order, I just packed up and left. QS&L's problems... 1) management... service is always a management issue. 2) Cutting Corners on Quality 3) Value... Prices are high, but worth paying if you get great service with a great product. You don't get get Quality, Service, or Value at QS&L... but at least the sauce is good. read more

Based on prior mediocre experience with this location we had not been here for quite some time. However, hoping to satisfy a desire for some wings before watching football, but avoiding the usual slow sit down service on a Sat. night, we opted to go the take out route at Quaker State. Regretfully this decision only further reduced our opinion of this location and finally motivated me to write a deserving review. A salad they can make but their signature chicken wings they can manage to screw up. The wings were over cooked and somewhat dried out. Compounding an already bad situation they then dusted all the wings with Chipotle powder which was in no way something that should have been associated with our order. Then to top it off they did not include "any" BBQ sauce. How can one screw up a basic straight forward order or your Original BBQ sauce wings??? Clearly this place has problems. Any association of this place with top quality BBQ wings is purely in an historical context by name. Better wings can be had from any number of other local restaurants and bars. read more

I will never order from there again I was so upset that I order online and got to work and found out that your sprintr was only 5 wings and when I called in the manger could only keep saying sorry, he said "well when you picked up your order you should have asked how many wings you ordered and I would have told you then." Really well any other business have wings order by six or explain what you are ordering on the website, when your website do not explain what you are getting before you order, $7.00 for 5 wings is too much .
