I returned to Q Nails for another pedicure and to get gel nails. I had a male nail tech who worked with me. My experience with this nail tech was unpleasant and I will not be returning to this nail salon. Although he did a good job with the pedicure and gel nails, he was rude and condescending. He made comments about my leg tattoo and also made a comment about my manner of speaking. His overall attitude was abrasive and unprofessional. I've been here a few times, and have never been impressed. They don't oil and push back cuticles and they've cut me so I've bled. This last time was the worst. I went in to get my acrylics removed. The price should have told me it was not going to be the best ($10). They clip the ends and then peel the acrylics off! I thought maybe that's how it was supposed to be done (my first time with acrylics). It's not. "Most salons will use a combination of acetone soaking and filing to remove acrylic nails. Some salons may opt for one or the other. Either way, the process generally takes between 25-45 minutes. It's all too tempting to pull off a nail once it begins to come loose, or if it's broken." I was done in 10 minutes. My nails are now extremely thin, tender, and sensitive. They were pink in places because of how much of my nail came off with the acrylics. So first of all they didn't even push back or remove any of my cuticles! The acrylic doesn't even start at the start of my real nails. The pinky nails are significantly longer than the rest of the nails. All the nails are uneven and crooked too The acrylic is layered on so thick that an Oreo cookie would think they're cousins! I have gone here 3 times for pedicure and my nails are always croked and they make my toes bleed. The girls can't speak English and they don't understand what you say. They do a nice job with leg message but crummy job on nails. All the good people are booked for a week in adavaced. I forgot to update this awhile back. I am Sorry to report that after a few days The gel manicure peeled off on numerous nails. My gel mani at other salons will sometimes chip- every once in a while that will happen, but these legit peeled off my nails. Bummer. Maybe it was the polish? It was a brand new bottle and the tech even mentioned it was oily and she kept having to shake it up. In hindsight, maybe we should have picked a different polish. Very weak polish. And they sawed down my nails to a very weak point where they are constantly breaking even with the thick gel polish. Yes, they were using the sand paper tool on my bare real nails once the polish was already removed, so on my bare nails, making them very weak and flimsy to the point of breakage as u can see in my photo. This happened in the first few days. I asked for my money back OR a repair and they said no money back and I'd have to pay for the repair. They created the problem so I believe I shouldn't have to pay for it. They are much more expensive than any other salon and they are terrible. Bad polish. I went to QNails in the Village Square Mall to get acrylics put on at the beginning of March. I understand sometimes your nails can hurt for maybe a day or two after, but my nails were excruciatingly painful for a whole week! I went back the Sunday after I originally had them applied and they made me pay to take them off and to put a gel polish over them to "protect them until they grew out." I was SOOO disappointed, but I just paid it to get out of there. The pain eased within a day or two... Well, here we are at the end of the month... I had a lot growth and went to take off the gel polish they applied. I took them off very gently with soaking them FOREVER and noticed that they didn't take off all the powder from my original acrylics... Once I took off that layer of powder, I was SHOCKED to see HUGE gouges in my nails and some of them are a red/brown like DRIED BLOOD!!! NO WONDER I WAS IN SOOOOO MUCH PAIN!! I found it INCREDIBLY DISTURBING that they PURPOSEFULLY left some of the powder on my nails to DISGUISE THE DAMAGE to my nails, because I would've RAISED HELL in the salon and would have DEMANDED A REFUND AAAAND I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID FOR THE NEW GEL POLISH COATING TO "PROTECT THEM AS THEY GREW OUT"!!!!
