The aesthetician's fingers worked their magic on my face, neck, and shoulders; and although at that Chicago salon I could not properly relax because they hard sell peddled their products at every turn, the aesthetician at Rue 48 in Canal Park was respectful of my boundaries. I had lots of skincare products I had just purchased that I loved and had been using for a long time and my skin was in good condition so she showed me without pushing one bit. The facial made my good skin glow in the best way (as a complement to my glowing personality hahaha!) I'm about to book another appointment, this time for a pedicure. I'll let you know how it goes. Canal Park itself is a must-see on the Duluth waterfront with myriad places of note to please your palate, whet your whistle, shop till you drop, sight-see and more. I got a French gel manicure for $43 - and they do a no mess no fuss eyebrow wax for $12. Yes Susan, I tipped - that price doesn't include a tip. The gal was nice and my French lines were straight (only reason I come to a salon because I can't do French to save anything). Nothing was blow-my-mind over the top but you can go drink at Applebees after you're done in the mall. Would it be my go-to spot? Probably not. Would I gamble again for a decent French gel manicure when I am at the mall? Sure!
