I live across the street so the Wallingford QFC is my go-to for groceries. You can find basic household cleaning supplies, office supplies, and various odds and ends (home repair items), but I don't shop for those things here. Their produce section is nicely stocked throughout the day, fairly priced, and always looks fresh. Upstairs is where they house their natural food selection, which can be a bit odd. For example, they put almond milk in the fridge upstairs rather than alongside other milk or dairy options downstairs. Upstairs is also where you'll find bulk spices, nuts, etc. I've had questions for the butcher twice and he was very friendly and helpful each time. It's open 24 hours and I've never been here when it's not bustling with people. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. For me, it's an easy in-and-out place for my regular groceries. read more

We love this QFC! We consider checkers Ian and Linda some our favorite "neighbors" in Wallingford. They are always super friendly, know our kids, and ask about them whenever we are in. They are always great about helping us find things and giving the scoop on new products that we might like. read more

This is a decent place to go if I don't have time to head to PCC or Whole Foods. They have a good natural food section for a standard chain grocery store, and for that they get an extra star. read more

Dependable and convenient for me. A bit over-priced but if you shop the sale items or even go for the "Manager's Specials" you can do allright for yourself. Surprising amount of panhandlers outside the entrance. read more

The upstairs seating area is great, but this may be a duplicate location for this business.

I needed to make a quick stop at QFC Wallingford today. I love this store. I walked in and was quite surprised ONE CHECKER line was a dozen long. Customer Service nada. Self Checkout was packed solid. I got my chicken and headed for Edna, she is still the only checker. I was very short on time line was 10 people long. I had no time I had to be home in less than 30 minutes, and I have to take the bus. I went to customer service they had one person there and a 5 minute wait. The parking lots were full the store was packed why on earth do you have only one checker on duty. Edna is an amazing checker and all alone on the front line. I walked in at 10:00 and was out by just shortly after 10:30. What the heck is wrong with Kroger why oh why don't you have more people working on a Saturday morning and a HOLIDAY, Halloween. I didn't even have a chance to say hi to Edna. Poor Edna Poor John was trying to help an army of self checkout people. The young man who helped me at Customer Service was nice I forgot his name and I lost my receipt. Please have more people manning the registers. I loathe hate and despise self check out. It takes jobs away from checkers that should be working the registers. There are a lot of people who use self checkout to squeeze through a few things here and there without paying. There was a guy who lived in Ballard and owned a thriving business there, he was well known to pilfer. read more

Always out of everything in the Asian/Mexican food section. Bread/cookies aren't that fresh and most of the specialty deserts aren't good. Seriously how do you screw up cookies, then put them in the featured food section. Sketchy characters always at the store. Way too expensive. Way too crowded. read more

I love this QFC, I live a couple blocks away so it is the obvious place for me to shop, that said, I am always impressed with the selection (and bulk spices) and quality of produce. It may not be the least expensive place you can find to shop, but I keep going back because the shopping experience is just so great. I also just want to give a shout out to the meat and deli department employees, last time I was there I asked for three slices of super fancy prosciutto for a recipe and they happily got it for me even though it meant alot of extra work for them. Also, I love Killer Dave's Bread and few grocery stores carry it - THANKS QFC read more

I live in the area and shop at this store two or three times a week. I have noticed how they are replacing the brands I like to use with their own brands and I don't like being forced to buy something I don't want. I have walked out of the store and gone elsewhere to buy what I want and need. I also dislike very much the QFC card, the ruse that this is a savings card. It' used to be that customers would save w/o needing a card to disclose their shopping habits to others who do not need to know. I'm very unhappy with the Wallingford QFC store and I try to shop at Whole Foods or PCC or anywhere but OFC and Kroger stores. read more

This is my local grocery store, I CAN go to Fred Meyer but it's farther and a lot more expensive. I love that QFC has it cheap days where everything is 10 for $10, or their pre made meat section is always perfect when I am looking to make something fast. I also never need to look for a sales clerk because they make it easy to find what I am looking for. They have great to go stuff, and the best boarhead section I have ever seen!! I never wait too long in line and I can always pick up a movie at Redbox while I am there! This is the grocery store to go to in the area! read more

To poster cathy g. and others here whose posts seem to have disappeared: I too had this happen, and then I discovered that there are two QFC review forums going--one, this one, is labeled 'QFC Quality Food Center'; the other is simply labeled 'QFC.' read more

I shop here at least once a week as it is very convenient. It is within walking distance to my apartment and since I do not own a car I feel lucky to have this store close by. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. It is very rare that I don't find something that I need. read more

Good fare but everything is closed too early. Prices are also too high. Whole good prices for Safeway quality

this is not anything special it has coffee and food (of course) the staff is very pleasant (considering my friends and i can be insanely loud and crazy sometimes) and the prices are mostly reasonable but this just pretty normal QFC except for the Seattle's best coffee stand but no offense it is not really the best plus it is kind of expensive if i were u go to the little coffee stand out side the have better cheaper coffee really great snakes read more

WHY did they have to remodel??? i used to love it but now all the stuff i need is gone and it's so confusing, the new front is so ugly and the entrance is a little tunel. I used to love to go up to the little "natural foods" section upstairs and look down at the whole store, but now thats gone and they are putting in a starbucks, and the ceilings ar to low. read more

Went in today and ordered a salad that they prepare for you at the deli, great portion for what you are paying. Was told it would take 5 minutes to prepare, I don't mind the wait. I then proceed to watch the employee Karla, making my salad run all over the store to find the appropriate ingredients because her line wasn't properly stocked. It definitely took more then five minutes but I could tell this employee was hustling and she was very apologetic. I then asked for a quarter pound of potato wedges and she gave me a 0.9 lbs and said it was free. That's what I call service! Definitely appreciate this employee going above and beyond for me. read more

Shop here only if you enjoy a $43 parking ticket for using their "free" parking lot while you shop. Went today with my sister, walked west to show her a car parked on the side street then headed back east to go in the grocery store and grab mozzarella only to see my car had a ticket on it. Bought my $5 cheese at the qfc, opened the ticket and saw they were charging $43 for "unauthorized" use. Was there for 6 minutes total of the 90 minute allotted shopping time. Watched the lady ticket the car to the left of me and the guy (who had walked into the store right behind me) came back with a 12 pack from qfc. Offensive to have to fight a ticket for using a "free" service from the store! read more

Free parking across the street. Great customer service at the counter.

Last time I went in here was a couple years ago. I was with my co-worker and attempting to purchase a bottle of wine and snacks for another co-worker's birthday. Got to check-out only to have a youngish cashier leave and return with an older employee who proceeded to inform my co-worker that he couldn't let her buy the wine because the youngish guy said we'd been drinking. We questioned it but didn't make a scene. I looked at the next line and see some very loud and obnoxious college aged boys buying a couple cases of beer with no problem. And that was the last time I ever went in there. read more

This store's merchandise is incredibly high priced compared to Safeway and Target, and when I asked if the store would honor a sale price, if something I bought today would go on sale within the next thirty days I was told no, because the people responsible for pricing the merchandise don't allow that. That's really a poor way of getting customers to return to shop at your store. If that is the case, then maybe you should put your stuff on sale more often instead gouging customers for food that does not match the so called "Quality" you advertise. read more

I witnessed appalling behavior the other day by someone who was Qfc management. He approached and bearraded a poor young girl that was obviously attempting to do her job without interfering with the patrons. He was so rude and attempted to throw his "authority" around like he is someone important. I saw the poor girl try to defend her actions which were legitimate in any situation, she was engaged very professionally with a potential contributor to her notable charity, who then was made to feel so uncomfortable by this manager that she abandonded her attempt to donated to that charity. He then proceeded to talk down to this poor girl until she ran off crying. I'm so disgusted by the QFC management I would like to boycott this location. Do not goto the Wallingford QFC! read more

It's big (management). It's corporate. It's a far cry from the old "Food Giant". But it is close to my house, so I keep going here. THEN I go across town (Ballard Market, Safeway) to get the 4-5 items on my list they do not have. Seriously -- without fail. Always. So tip #1: stock the store like you are supplying diverse residents of Seattle, not Omaha NE. They should change the name to "MFC" - produce, deli, and meat/seafood are mediocre, at best. Read the other reviews -- I am not alone. Tip #2: utilize the freshness and quality in the foods grown/raised around your store, don't rely on the trucked-in Kroger crap. SERVICE. Wow. From the surly bakery/deli lady to the meat and seafood guys who completely IGNORE you, this is not someplace to go if you want a neighborhood feel. Well, not WALLINGFORD neighborhood feel. Tip #3: teach your employees that customer service is more important than cleaning knives or putting price tags on the slop-of-the-day. Probably the ONLY reason I keep going back (and the only thing saving their rating from being a single star) is the "front staff" -- the checkers and the managers. The checkers are generally friendly, and actually remember me from visit to visit. One in particular is AWESOME -- and everyone seems to know it because her line is always long (but worth the wait to talk to you Amy!). Alas, by the time I make it to the checkers, I am usually so frustrated with my experience that I want nothing more than to leave. But does this even matter? It's a grocery store -- a lousy one, but just a store, in the end. It (usually, to a minimal degree) serves its purpose, I have learned that if I am making something special I need to plan ahead for a trip to the butcher or Ballard Market. For a roast chicken and bottle of wine on the way home from work, it'll pass. read more

I had an unpleasant experience there, so I decided to write down. The QFC store here is large and beautiful, almost like Whole Foods or other upper-scale grocery in the Seattle area. The store is clean and organized, and items are beautifully displayed. However, the most rude and terrible experience occurred at the checkout. For such a large grocery it is surprising that only one register, which says "Express, 15 items" was open. The people in front had huge numbers of items, full of items in the cart. So we decided to use a self check up. Here the problem has arisen. We purchased 2 corns, 79 cents, each; although the machine display says "2 @.79 Corns $1.58", at the bottom it says "Subtotal $3.16". The elderly store personnel tried to assist me for check out. I had to point him out that we were charged for the price of 4 corns, it's a double charge. The empolyee, instead of fixing the problem, told us that we are not using the check out machine correctly, and the machine is correct! I had to explain that 2 corns, for 79 cents each will add up to a dollar 58 cents, not three dollars and sixteen cents. He went back to the fresh vegetable section to check the price, and still did not admit that something was wrong with the machine, instead he indicated that something is wrong with us. I did not understand why we have to debate about such a simple math mistake of their self-checkout machine (there must have been a bug, or some hidden items behind). It was not a nice experience. read more

It's a little weird to review a QFC, but I just wanted to say that they have a pretty decent natural foods section (upstairs). There are tons of bulk bins up there, and a good selection of the various other foods you expect to find in a natural food store -- field roast, earth balance, organic pasta sauce, natural beauty products, supplements, etc. Even if I don't specifically need things, I like to go up there just to shop the sale items. And there's always someone up there stocking the shelves and offering help with finding things. read more

Been coming to this QFC for over eight years and I love the place. Everything is very organized. But I wouldn't recommend the Starbucks on the second floor. I've gotten a frappucino from here three times this week and every time it was watery, and on top of that the barista is rude. read more

The store is convenient to my house, but there are a lot of gripes I have about it. The produce is ridiculously expensive, especially considering its very low quality. I have sorted through more rotting produce here than anywhere else except the produce stand in Ballard. I often have to go through the entire stock of Habaneros just to find 2 which aren't rotten. I bought 3 potatoes tonight and two of them had blackheart, a disorder caused by negligent handling. Also, for being in the middle of an upper-middle class neighborhood in Seattle, they sure do sell a lot of factory meat(although at the same prices as organic meat elsewhere) and they relegate anything 'natural' to the hinterlands near the employee lockers, upstairs, at the back of the store. Even Nancy's Yoghurt is jammed back by the lockers and not in the main dairy case. Their bulk section (also relegated to the hinterlands) is pathetic for a store this size and the spice selection is embarrassing. They don't sell Draper Valley Farms Ranger chicken anymore, subbing in their own brand of green-washed chicken, which sells for more than the Ranger, but is of decidedly lower quality. They don't even sell drip coffee in the bakery anymore, sending you to the in-store Starbucks upstairs to spend twice as much on sub-par coffee. Why do I even give them two stars? Sometimes they have decent sales on beer. I'm going back to driving to the PCC in Fremont or the Ballard Market for food. read more

A pretty good store but watch out if you use the parking lot. Yesterday I parked there and walked over to the library and returned a book then back to qfc and shopped. When I got to my car with my groceries there was a $43 parking "violation" from Diamond parking on my windshield. I went back into the store looking for a manager but there was none on duty. A man who was apparently the senior clerk on duty explained to me that the parking lot was only for qfc customers. I tried to ask him do I have to pay this or not but he wouldn't answer me until he had gone through his spiel. They have watchers with citations to issue when they see someone park and go anywhere other than the qfc store. When I called the Diamond guy, he had to go through the same rigamarole as the qfc clerk. The Diamond fellow also mentioned that if they saw two people get out of the car and one went somewhere other than into the qfc store they issue a citation for that. Qfc doesn't want to be paying for a parking lot for anyone but themselves. So be alert. Yes they "forgave" me this time because I didn't have any "priors". read more
