This was the closest supermarket to our Airbnb and luckily it was open until 1AM because there were some nights when we got back pretty late and needed to shop for provisions the next day. I thought the market was super spacious and well-stocked. It does look a little old and worn, but everything is labeled and brightly lit inside. The staff for the most part are pretty friendly, but I did encounter a very gruff cashier lady twice. There is also a parking lot available across the street from the supermarket, though there is plenty of street parking available as well. I loved digging through the $5 bin at the Murray's Cheese counter as my little treat. Every girl needs a little nighttime cheese. read more

I have been shopping here for 17 yrs. Clean. Friendly staff. They stream-lined the entry to reduce theft. Checkers have to do a lot! They are very nice- always. In self-checkout- there are about 20 checkout stands with only 2 people to help us. They handle large crowds, long lines with composure and careful attention. read more

This is closest supermarket to me now and while I do most of my shopping at QFC, you're going to inevitably shop at the market that is within walking distance to your home. Already I've had to make a few trips here for the uncontested convenience and value. This QFC is a bit smaller than others I've been to. I'm not sure if it has to do with it's age, as it looks like it's been here for quite some time, not just particularly because of it's old-style neon sign that lines the roof, but the aisles are TINY here. I've noticed this with a lot of the markets here, but here if I see more than one person in the aisle, I find myself just coming back to it if it can wait. Some items are spread to the upstairs level, which is alright, as you know for sure what's up there - hygiene, pet supplies, food storage, whereas I couldn't tell you what aisles have what on the first floor. Service is ok. It seems they focus strictly on self-checkout at night so full check out might be out if you've got a lot of items. read more

A few days ago, I was treated rudely by one of their employees named Marlo when I was figuring out a transaction. I gave their management a chance to make this right. However, the manager in charge (Drew) did a half-assed job at holding Marlo accountable. According to Drew, even with Marlo's appalling and unprofessional conduct he couldn't be fired due to "union protection and rights" A few days later, Marlo is still working there. Avoid this place, because this union store will protect employees who engage in this unprofessional conduct. This store has a disgusting case of office politics with the union. I ordered a specialty sandwich from the deli. The bread did not taste fresh, it was very dry. It was missing the fig jam. It had way too much mayo and hardly any honey mustard. It was pretty tasteless. The employee was not very friendly he came across as annoyed to have to make it. I have finally learned my lesson. I will not buy anything at the deli again. read more

I'm glad to see other bad reviews about the employees there, so I'll add mine. The older blonde woman is horrible! First she told me to step in back of the yellow line. WTF is the yellow line? OH, I found it (!) at least 12 feet from the register. Then I handed her my two limes, the only thing I had, and she SLAMMED them down on the wooden shelf and they both fell on the filthy floor near her FEET, but she didn't pick them up, I had to!! Then I told her I wanted the Amsterdam vodka, the $10.99 size. She then said, 'A fifth'? and I said, I don't know vodka, but it's the one for $10.99. She huffed and rolled her eyes and got the vodka. Another time a few months ago, I bought a few things to the register, including a glass item. The guy was also RUDE and after I paid for and bagged my own items, he ignored me, and I had to ask for the bottle of wine, which was right near him. The Wallingford store is dirty and dated, and I'll never shop there again. The UVillage store is a pleasure to go into! Coming down 45th, that landmark/signature/distinct block typeface text "WALLINGFORD" has such appeal and draw. Spanning across the expansive front exterior facade, it's just so cool. I think this is the only QFC for miles that has the coolest & spacious layout among them all. My major unique favorite lil feature is the upstairs natural/health section that overlooks the floor on one side. The ceiling is a bit shorter, the ambient lighting is a bit more warmer, all the perks of being separated from all foot traffic, really. I like how they're perhaps one of the few major chain stores with No Cow energy protein bars. I don't eat many bars but they're a fav when I do. The main floor is solid, simple & standard. Their organic produce section is top-notch. Parking is limited onsite with plenty of street parking. Also good location to many local businesses so great spot to pick up some groceries after a coffee or dinner, etc. read more

Most of the employees are great with one blaring exception, an older woman who works usually swing shift. I have watched her interact with fellow co-workers and customers and she negative, unprofessional and cranky. She speaks down to the customers, acts put out when people ask for help and has the worst customer service skills I have seen at a QFC. I feel bad for her co-workers and I wouldn't be surprised if they try to avoid her. Wish she would win the lottery so she could retire...she acts if she is just there for the paycheck and hates her job.... read more

What an awesome grocery store! We stopped in after a great dinner at Harvest Beat and listening to live music at The Seamonster Lounge. Such a nice, cute and inviting neighborhood. Even the homeless guy hanging outside the store at midnight was mellow. Saw some locals who gave him food which was a nice gesture. The 2nd Level had my favorite chips, snacks and restroom. Dave Matthews shops here. I've never been a fan of the ethereal granola rock of The Dave Matthews Band (sounds like Bar Mitzvah music to me), but he gave a free concert in the produce section of this QFC. We was all drinking hard cider from aisle six and just kicking back. People sitting on the conveyor belts of the cashier. My wife caught Covid at the concert, but she likes Dave so she doesn't care. There's a nice deli meat selection for Dave to choose from, and if Dave wants craft beer, there's a pretty ample selection for him and the rest of the band. From time to time, Dave wonders if the overly friendly cashiers (who don't recognize him) are just friendly or suffer from repressed social anxiety that comes out as unintentionally judgmental monologues about his choice of vegetables. How do you ruin a great grocery store overnight? Do exactly what this store did... by beginning a year-long remodeling. The natural food section upstairs has been replaced by chemical-based products. The water dispenser is gone, so I have to go to PCC Fremont to get water now. They said the natural foods are "dispersed" throughout the store but I only saw a small sample on isle 4. Everything on the east side of the store is in disarray, with many empty shelves. Why ruin a great thing they had going? It's very sad to see this store ruined overnight. I work a late day/night job so I'm only in here between the hours of 10pm-midnight. Usually I go in after work to buy groceries. I never have an issue at all with this location, except with the one male clerk with the red hair who works self check out. He makes me feel uncomfortable almost every time I go in to shop. I've had this man make multiple rude comments on my purchases multiple times for no reason and is consistently a jerk overall. Last night I've just had enough and will refuse to buy anything if this person is working. Usually, there is a kind elderly woman working or a younger trans lady who is very kind. However, this red head man has been crossing the line over and over. He is super argumentative and aggressive for no reason when I'm just requesting help and even goes out of his way to shame me when I purchase items such as alcohol. One time a month back I was buying alcohol in order to make cocktails for friends when I was hosting a dinner party and he asked me "so you just getting loaded tonight, these look like a fine choice. Is that what you do is like getting loaded?" It was really off color and rude to say something like this when I was just buying a very small amount of vodka(half bottle) to make drinks for people at a dinner party. Sorry I don't like to buy alcohol or large quantities so that's why I was purchasing a small amount for a party and I don't appreciate getting shamed over it. Regardless I would say go to the Safeway down the street if you can or Fred Meyer to avoid this self deprecating and rude clerk. I constantly have issues with this employee who works there, I don't know if it's because he hates his job and life but shouldn't be my personal problem when shopping there. I'm only not giving QFC one star because of it's convenience. It's close to my apt and easy to walk to. However I've finally had the last straw. Today in the bulk section upstairs, I wanted some dried mango slices and the bin was packed full, so I'm guessing they had just restocked it. But I saw a little bug crawling around in the case. I opened it and another bug flew out. The bins are filthy and look like they've never been cleaned. I didn't get the mangoes. The "digital coupons" on the QFC app are frequently advertised under their sale products but aren't accurate or only work about half the time. Today I opened the app to download a coupon that was being advertised as a 5x coupon, so we picked up 5 of that item. When it was all rang out and the coupon only worked for one item (and for a different discount!) the cashier said "Well you don't have to buy them" and didn't even look at the coupon or have someone go to the aisle to check the advertisement. Don't park in their QFC parking lot. You can shop there, but if you want a fat parking ticket for parking in their parking lot...even for just a few minutes, then you may get an extra $60 surcharge on top of your grocery bill. Also make sure you don't park any where close to the parking lines or they will bill you for that too. Diamond Parking will rip you a new one if they can. read more

Below average experience at an otherwise average grocery store: The bagger mixed packages of raw meat in and on top of the packaged dry food and vegetables. Raw meat that clearly had juices in the package. He didn't even keep the meats confined to one bag, just... sprinkled them throughout the three bags of groceries... Of all the grocery stores in Seattle, QFC is the last resort. Out of all the QFC's I've been; this is the one I prefer the least. This is one of the few grocery stores other than Walmart where I go into with the expectations of buying something and I find myself leaving without buying anything. Why is that? Well, first I find the shelf space is so lacking in this QFC that most of the items I'm interested in buying isn't stocked. Next, I find the prices to be higher than I expected, nothing on sale I like (without having a QFC card) and I just get more frustrated. Lastly, they spread the same type of items all over the place, such as the chips are on the end of the rows spread around the store instead of a single place. I end up just driving to Ballard and go to Fred Meyer (which is owned by QFC) where there's a complete selection and always find something I like on sale at a great price. read more

There are two very important things that you must know about this place. One is that it's in almost the exact geographical center of the district of Wallingford. Two is that all humans need their quality food to survive, so chances are good that this place will serve you well if you happen to live in the area. For anything that QFC can't cover, the nearby Bartell Drugs will probably be able to take care of it. But pretty much all your essential groceries can be found here. I've been here to shop a lot for food, water, cleaning supplies, and dining supplies. I've also purchased some more unusual things such as a baby bottle, safety pins, air fresheners, and a toothbrush. One time, I needed to prepare food for camping and was easily able to locate graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate, hot dogs, buns, ketchup, mustard, and even bamboo skewers. This store has even more stuff on the second floor. It's a little different from what I'm used to because all the QFCs on the Eastside where I'm from have the merchandise a bit more spread out, but I don't mind all the basic daily stuff I need being crammed into a little space. read more

Horrible! As soon as I walked in, I was stared at by three of the employees working the cash register. Upon walking down the aisle, I heard over the PA system "Security check". Then as I'm standing there getting my merchandise, a security guard comes over and looks at me, then turns away really quickly once we make eye contact. So, I yell, "may I help you"? He doesn't speak and keeps walking, so I go to another part of the store, and sure enough his ass is right there. So, I turn and awkwardly follow him for about 5 minutes. He stops, I stop. He turns, I turn. Eventually, I grab some popcorn and flavored water and got the hell out of there. I would've ended up on the local news in a state I'm not even from, for punching a security guard in the throat! I cleared over $120,000 this year, I guarantee I make more than anybody working in that store! Fuck this place read more

The worst grocery shopping experience of my life. It started with no carts or carry baskets near the front door.... They were by the exit that was carefully signed telling customers to use only the entrance. It got worse and worse from there. QFC should be ashamed of themselves. If I could rate zero I would. Let's be clear. This is not a great grocery store. It is small and cramped. I live equidistant between this qfc, the pcc in greenlake village, and the whole foods in roosevelt. But niwnthat qfc has adopted dog spot I am frequenting here often. I like to walk to the store. If I am going to walk, I am going to bring my dog. If I am going to bring my dog, I want to feel confident she will be safe while I am in the store. But I now keep coming here because of the dog spot doghouse. If you're ever in the need of a half dozen giant mylar food-shaped balloons for a friend's birthday, this QFC is the place to go. I can really only speak to their balloon and tissue selection as those are the only products I came in for, but I left a satisfied customer. The balloon service definitely took a good 40-minutes and the balloon counter person was 100% high AF, but getting 6 massive balloons in the shape of all your favorite munchies from a pretty obliterated person was actually a lot of fun... although price as hell, I still stand by it being the best $56 I've spent in a QFC. read more

BEWARE OF PARKING! Unless you want to pay a $43 ticket, that is. There's a 90-minute "customer" parking lot right across from this QFC, but here's the catch (which is not mentioned anywhere on the signs): You MUST BE IN THE QFC 100% OF THE TIME. This means no, you cannot go to the bank beforehand to get cash, you cannot buy something from QFC and then check out another shop nearby, etc. I called the parking company and was literally told that once you exit QFC, you are no longer considered a customer, regardless of whether or not you bought something from the store. I did get the ticket reduced down to $10 through phone, but it's not something I should've been paying for in the first place. This experience makes me never want to patronize a QFC ever again. They obviously have no respect for their customers whatsoever. read more

I was very pleased to stumble upon Wallingford on my recent trip to Seattle. For a small town centre, it has a lot of eating establishments including local gems like Molly Moons and Trophy Cupcakes. Although I managed to indulge my favourite passion of window shopping or more accurately menu reading, I didn't find anywhere open for breakfast. However, QFC came to my rescue. In common with most American supermarkets, there is a comprehensive food takeout section. I was in fact spoilt for choice and almost indulged in some sushi but ultimately, the autumnal chill drove me to the hot soup section where I picked up a very satisfying Mexican chicken soup, which had lots of chicken and vegetables swimming in spicy soup. It was a good start to what turned out to be quite a foodie day read more

I've heard funky noises from behind the shelves and there is a funky (I want to say rat-like) smell in the peripheral aisles. - They recently sent out a recall for fruits contaminated (potentially) with Listeria. The fun part is that the recall is for fruits, including organic fruits, from June 1 to July 20. Ummmm, I don't know about you guys, but if I bought I peach on June 1st I very likely ate it. Also it really doesn't help to tell me "don't worry, it only affects ppl with weak immune systems". Most of the cashiers are nice and the folks there really do try. Too bad that this QFC seems to have such poor management that they have all of these PUBLIC problems. read more
