The QFC (Quality Food Centers) on Roosevelt Way Northeast in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle has been one of my QFC location mainstays throughout my life thus far. I am from the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle (home neighborhood in my American hometown - Northgate, Seattle) and I continue to use this location if I am in the area, though I live in Shoreline now. Sections of the store are well labeled and the workers have been professional in our interactions over the years. My favorite cake is yellow cake, has been for over 20 years, and this QFC location remains my go-to when I am looking for a slice or two of yellow cake. The in-store bakery makes a great cake and perfect frosting, especially the yellow cake and caramel frosting option. Even as of my most recent visit on Sunday 29 October 2023, I was happy to find fresh made yellow cake options. The parking lot can get a little cramped, has a 90 minute limit, and is restricted to QFC customers. There are two entrances/exits, which can be a little difficult to maneuver. However, it was one of my favorite lots when I was first learning/adjusting to driving because it helped teach me patience and to breath in tight fit situations. read more

I've been a customer at the QFC Northgate for years, and generally, the employees are nice and knowledgeable. But right now, (March 2026), with the huge apartment construction project going on at the south end of the lot, parking, and getting in and out of the store, is becoming all but impossible during weekdays. I advise avoiding this QFC during core hours of 11am-4pm M-F until the project is done. Also, the construction crew is full of nasty guys who block the parking lot entrances and exits with equipment and work vehicles, and then yell at QFC customers to, basically, get of the way. All in all, very unpleasant shopping experience. Go somewhere else for now. read more

The check out people are Gruff and rude and abrupt, namely angela. Another guy in there acts like he's high or extremely hungover, when I was here a few days ago.... I would ask him something and he would space out and he even sat down while he was checking out cuz I could tell he was hungover . It's not friendly to disabled people, they threw my heavy bags on the ground and I had to ask them to put them in my cart then they blocked off the exit, as I'm trying to push my cart through to try to get out there's some kind of maze. There is no customer service anymore all they care about is themselves. I am 68 years old disabled with rheumatoid arthritis and lymphoma. I don't need this when I go grocery shopping I seriously don't. And even if you're friendly and say hi you get ignored by the checkout people. Bottom line I hate this store. read more

It's not QFC which I rate 1, it's QFC's (INSTACART) Food Delivery and I'd give them a -0- because for ~$60.00 I should've paid HALF OF THAT. Here's why: I ordered ONE gallon of 2% milk and I got TWO instead; I ordered ONE box of cereal and I got TWO instead; I ordered TWO RIPE-GREEN BANANAS AND GOT TWO ROTTEN ONES; I ordered two (SMOKED) BLEU CHESSE BUT GOT TWO SMOKED GOAT CHEESE. I did NOT get the 8-pack container of Pike Place Starbucks coffee either! I specifically said to NOT SUBSTITUTE ANY ITEMS. Period. My intent and purpose for ordering for delivery is because my entire body is in ALOT of pain. Usually I walk to QFC on Roosevelt Way at 2-3 times a week. That's tiring enough BUT for me to have to walk there straight away after seeing the gross negligence of my the (Instacart) delivery. When I got to QFC, I was told THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO CAUSE IT'S THROUGH INSTACART!!! I'm NOT calling Instacart nor using them ever again; infact this is the 3rd AND LAST time I'll ever, NEVER USE THEM!!! read more

This QFC is a decent sized location with all your essentials. I've been here for years for anything from produce to liquor. The liquor department inside is hit or miss with the allocated whiskies. Sometimes you need to ask. The parking lot is spacious, I haven't had trouble with finding parking. There are also level 3 EVGO charger stations here. I've also eating to-go sushi, which was okay but there's not a place to sit other than the Starbucks area. read more

the QFC at Northgate is the worst grocery store in town. 12 noon and the deli has nothing...I MEAN NOTHING...NO HOT FOOD...NO SANDWICHES. The grapes are old and soft...carts with locked up wheels outside exit...rest in the parking lot. Only 1 checker is bad enough...try no checkers. I put 47 items through you-check. Management seems clueless. Self checkout is always waiting while the attendant is chit-chatting with their buddies. Only one person in the liquor area that you have to purchase from that also processes the lengthy money transfers. You end up waiting so long when you can just allocate an extra person for 3 minutes except they are usually fraternizing with their buddies. read more

I shop here out of convenience. And sometimes the deals are good. But twice now I've purchased full price produce that ended up being spoiled the next day. I just bought a bag of green beans yesterday and today it smelled sour. I went ahead and cooked the to see if it's salvageable and it was so bad that I had to throw the entire pan away. read more

I love my local qfc I go there every single day it's close by. I've been coming for years now. These past 3 weeks, I keep getting harassed by a older asian women P.I.C at self checkout, if I had her name I would've included it ! I usually always pay with 2 cards one for food and another for whatever other items that need to be bought separately. Everytime It seems to be my turn to check out she intentionally stands right next to me !! I can't even shop or check out in peace !! Like I said I've been coming for years I've never once had a problem like this, even the security knows who I am and are absolutely amazing ! Today was the worst out every time she harassed me! I was checking out my food items and had my other items that I was going to pay with a different card and before I could even pay for my food items, she comes behind me and is absolutely so rude. She tells me "you didn't scan these items" I tried to explain to her that I was paying with 2 cards separately. She grabs all the items that were on the side that I was going to pay separately and snatches the item I was holding in my hand and begins to scan every item I had on the side !! I was so upset trying to explain why I didn't scan it but she just didn't care and was so rude !! Then she proceeded to go to the security to tell them to "keep an eye on me" she also told them I was stealing and not scanning my items right infront of me !! Thankfully the security knows me and always sees i always scan my items everytime I come in. I've never once had a problem with anyone telling me this !! This is absolutely infuriating. I've complained about this multiple times and she seems to still continue harassing me. read more

I used to love this store. But that was 15 years ago. I'll put aside the problem of homeless people hanging around outside, sometimes inside, the truly weird bunch of customers they get, the shoplifters constantly in and out. It doesn't make for a pleasant experience-- but none of that is under their control. What IS under the control is that they just moved 20% of their stock into totally new locations-- for no reason whatsoever!!! Things that have occupied the same locations for a decade. Like rearranging chairs on the Titanic. Dear QFC, a large portion of your clientele are VERY elderly people, many with memory issues. WHY would you DO this to them??????? Also, I love some of your cashiers. They're great. And the baggers too. But a few of the cashiers-- I'm sorry, but they are POORLY EQUIPPED to be cashiers. They don't really care or they're incredibly slow. I realize you are CHRONICALLY understaffed; I've lived with that reality for four years. But really: some of your cashiers should be sweepers. For some reason, this QFC stays lacking with its pork selections, especially ground pork. No matter what time of the day I'll shop, they stay lacking. It's super frustrating since I love to make lumpia for potlucks and this QFC is super convenient location-wise. However, I now know that when I need pork products, I should not bother making a stop here. Aside from that, this QFC has a decent produce section. Also, they are open late (1 AM), which is perfect for when I am in need of garlic or ginger. read more

I've had 2 really bad experiences here. The customer service is terrible. Both times they have been rude. And both times I asked about the digital coupons and they told me to just put my phone number in and they charged me full price. Both times I've had to go back and get a refund. Shopped here the other day had a basket full. The older woman tried to discourage me from going to her checkout line by saying cashier number four was opened. Having shopped here previously I know that register does not give gas points and I told her I'd wait in her line because I shop there for the gas points. After waiting a long time to be checked out she then told me her register didn't give gas points either. I knew that was a lie because she had just helped an elderly man get his phone number in for gas points and discounts. I left my cart and walked out. Tired after a long day of errands I don't need that crap. read more

The deli closes before 5:00 PM when everyone is coming in for dinner. I couldn't even get cold salad because the deli was closed for a half hour between 5:30 and 6 pm. That makes zero sense. QFC Northgate grocery store - This is a record high heat wave in Seattle. Two unhoused community members took refuge in the shade outside of your Northgate WA location today, minding their own business quietly hoping for a cool breeze to lower their temperature. Your store dispatched a security guard ~1:30pm on 8/15/21 to forcibly remove these community members from the premises, stating "those people have no right to be here," and calling myself "an idiot" for "making [his] job harder." Your security guard dialed 911 and reported that someone had a knife and was "the ringleader," and that "a group of them were forming. They're getting hostile." RE: Knife - Patrons of your store provided a meal and plastic utensils to a community member in need of food. Your guard called 911 and reported the man was wielding a knife as a weapon. He was calmly and quietly eating a meal using the utensil. RE: "Group" - A third community member took refuge under the shade across the parking lot. He was in no relation to the two community members initially targeted and quietly sipped a drink in the shade. RE: Calling 911 - No violence or threat was present. No raised voices, weapons, or crowd was forming. Patrons of your store continued to enter and exit, shopping for groceries without any concern. RE: Needless name calling - I am certainly not trained as a security guard. I am however a trained social worker, a resident of this neighborhood, and a patron of this store. It infuriates me to know that your store and it's employees are willing to risk the lives of unhoused community members in this heat wave - or ever - by disregarding a human life for an individual guard's discomfort. This is not how a professional member of your store should act, nor is this an adequate use of the THREE police cars that arrived and circled the area. This white, stocky build male guard in his 40s wearing all black with his name badge flipped over needs to reconsider his actions and how calling 911 on a Black individual can end in loss of life. Your store can and must do better. read more

I could go two stars for consistency, but this place is consistently frustrating so that doesn't work. If you want laundry pods, well, they're locked away and you need to go talk to a store manager to open up the case. Every single time, they call for someone to meet you at the case and every single time, some poor employee shows up with a massive keyring with dozens of keys on it and tries, unsuccessfully, to unlock the cabinet, making their way through the keychain one key at a time. Last time this happened, I just ordered the laundry pods from Amazon while I waited and thanked the employee for trying. The checker I had today was so slow, I had picked him because he had the shortest line, but the three other lines that were all longer each went through four other people with more items than me before I could even check out. However the real joy of this QFC is that they have completely botched the programming of the perimeter based security of their carts. Almost every time I go, either myself or someone in front of me as I try to leave has the wheels of their cart lock up right in the little door on the south side of the building that is only wide enough for one cart anyway. If you're lucky enough to manage to get through the door with a cart, there's a 75% chance the wheels will lock well before you reach your car in the store's parking lot. One time, I just gave up and left my cart where it locked up, only to be scolded by an employee that I can't leave my cart there. With the exception of the aforementioned employee, I don't fault the staff, I fault the management. These are not new problems. I've brought them up to various managers over the last couple years, and clearly it's falling on deaf ears. This place is awful. read more

It seems like this QFC is a mixed bag for people who are frequent shoppers, but my one-time visit was actually pretty cool. First, they have a case of living, growing herbs in the produce section. Second, this is the ONLY grocery store I've shopped in that had friendly and plentiful butchers working the meat counter. There were about 4 to 5 people and we were asked multiple times if we needed help. Third, the security guard on duty was jovial and talkative and helped a little old lady with the bathroom code. Bathrooms were clean and seemed to be serviced regularly. The one negative was how incredibly busy it was. You could hardly move around the produce aisle and it seemed like each line was full. This is not my home store, but if I came here again I would come during an off hour (if there is such a thing) to avoid the crowds. read more

I like the Northgate/Roosevelt QFC and I think they do a good job of having a variety of items. I am gluten free and they have a decent selection in their freezer section as well as dry goods. I used to shop almost exclusively at WFM on Roosevelt Way, but find that QFC meets most of my grocery needs. They do get very very busy and sometimes have very long lines to check out. I try to go in mid afternoon or before noon. read more

This QFC is completely not safe. They have motor homes parked in their lot and they are allowing the homeless to set up camp in there lot. You also can not get into a door without getting harassed by a homeless person. Do not leave anything in your car. People are looking into customers cars. You talk to QFC employees and they say there is nothing they can do. I would highly recommend going to Safeway few minutes away. They have worked with the city to get the motor homes removed and they have security that moves the homeless on when they are at the door harassing you. read more

This is the only place that serves the pretzel chips that I like it's called chocolate drizzle pretzel chips and during Christmas I asked when they would have them back in and they said that they should have them within the next couple days and this was December it is now the end of April and they still don't have them in stock I've asked them three times to order them and they still don't have them they keep giving me the runaround I just want the truth or them to order the damn stuff instead of them being lazy I don't think it's too hard to ask for a customer to have some thing they want in stock in a reasonable amount of time and each time I go there they act like they're too busy to have a conversation. Went to a dr appt on President's Day 2/19/2024, picked up one prescription, Pharmacist said the other would arrive Tuesday, 2/20/2024. Pharmacist said said they were using a different distributor, and that my "Single Care" price would be $20.00 +. They told me my prescription would be available at 145th & 15th NE that night. Then today, 2/21/2024, they claimed the Single Care website was down and then I would have to pay $95.00 that the Northgate store finally arrived at their location. I hate that QFC/Kroger can't get their "stuff" together and kept jerking me around. I'm going to another pharmacy and never getting another prescription from QFC/Kroger crappy stores. read more

Small but has everything you need. It's similar in design to the one on 35th at 85th but with more available parking close to the entrance. If you need more selection or specific items such as foods and condiments from the ethnic food aisles, you'll need to head down to the U-Village location, but for basic needs this one is just fine. read more

Went to another large grocery store chain first and left cause even the parking lot was sketchy. Came here and so happy I did. From entry, clean and social distancing measures well done. Special thanks to Aaron (in produce) for picking my watermelon for me (perfectly ripe) and assisting with multiple questions. He was always gracious and helpful. Ugh this QFC..... First off, I usually love shopping at most QFCs, usually prefer Fred Myers but this is closest to me (like a 20min walk / 5min drive / also close to bus lines which makes it helpful). They're CONSTANTLY out of products. Like seriously, who tf is buying all the Oat Milk? lol I mean c'mon, I'll stop by once a week or every other week and it's like nope sorry, we STILL don't have any Oat Milk. I'm like seriously???? The other day I stopped by just to get some Milk and they had NONE stocked. Even the regular milk?! You've got to be kidding me...... I feel like for this area, it's kinda weird, I do get the racist vibe when I go in there as well. I've noticed that when I go in to shop, the security will ask me several times to see if I'm doing okay. Seriously?? First off, I come here A LOT, I've NEVER f-ing stolen sh*t, and on top of that where the f am I gonna even try to hide this sh*t?! Literally coming from working at a school, so I don't carry anything other than my wallet, cell, and keys since I take the bus. It makes me so mad that they do this shit to me all the time. If I go in with my bf, they give me way less grief, which I'm not sure why, since he's also asian likewise. Idk, but it really pisses me off. I've also been stopped by security when walking out of the store, I'm like dude, I just checked out with a clerk, you REALLY need to check my grocery bags? I don't know if they're just bored and are looking to make a scene but it pisses me off how they constantly try to embarrass the sh*t out of me. Anyways, bottom line, I don't recommend them. This has been my go-to pharmacy for 5+ years. They deserve a 5 star rating. Very helpful, very willing to accommodate the occasional special request. Today's (3/18 ~11:30 AM) pharmacist was none of the above, made to feel I was imposing on her time. That has never happened to me at this pharmacy. My boyfriend and I go to this QFC almost every weekend to do our weekly grocery shopping. Overall, I'd say we've had positive experiences and they have most of the items I'm looking for. We also shop here for toiletries and household items like toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap, etc. Sometimes they won't have certain items for example last time I went I was looking for collard greens and they did not have it. And I also frequently purchase Premier Protein shakes from Target since they do not carry that here either. It's a smaller grocery store so I am pretty forgiving when they do not have everything I'm looking for. We like to go to this grocery store because it has free outdoor parking that's pretty accessible. The grocery stores near our apartment are below ground parking garage where it is difficult to enter and exit. The staff here are welcoming and efficient. The lines are never too long and the wait is reasonable to check out. read more

Great selection, great quality, and prices that are commensurate with that. SITREP "You get what you pay for." An adage that rings really true here most of the time. In our hood, it's either shop here or at Safeway. To be honest, most of the time it is Safeway. But that's not to say there aren't good deals here. SETUP For me, the litmus test of a store is do they have my: (1) Favorite Cheeses; (2) Favorite Snacks; (3) Favorite Sodas; and, (4) Favorite Frozen Items (I'm a bachelor and I'm not not going to either lie or downplay my cooking consistency - so bachelorness IS what it IS). I love how they have my favorite Lays and Ruffle chips usually alternating on specials from one another (just like crop-rotations in my mind). And they have my Pepsi One, which a LOT of Seattle stores still do not have. So on MY four (4) basic food "groups" (haha), I have to give QFC 4 stars right there. PRICING But on prices, I can find most of my favorite items at Safeway for (usually) a lot less cost. And the produce - quality is very good, so don't get me wrong - is usually more expensive, which is a factor when I go shopping with my mom here. This store is well run, well stocked and strangely , filled with eye candy of the feminine form. Not sure why the hotties line up at this suburban vestige of slightly over priced groceries. The Starbucks is good, the credit union ATM handy for this BECUer, the whole place always quite clean and busy. The best part is the checkers, fun, courteous and friendly. The cons....a rather unimaginative deli serving the same old schlock of high carb mangled manifestations of American corrupted pastas: Mac and Cheese, Mac and Beef, Mac made to look like lasagna. The hygiene items way over priced (Fortunately there is a Walgreen's across the street) and the pharmacy dinky. The sushi "bar" looks a bit bland. TIPS: Occasionally they will run great loss leaders, especially on holiday weekends. Example, buy two 12 packs of Coke products, get 3 free! read more

I frequent this QFC mostly for the Redbox machines. They have two and I love that! It gives me more choices of movies to pick from without having to go to another Redbox machine, most of the time. But I do grocery shop here every so often as well, it's either here or the Pinehurst Safeway. They usually have pretty good $1 deals for certain canned items or Mac N' Cheese products. The produce section is pretty fresh and usually stocked. I have seen bigger and nicer QFCs around in Seattle but I always get what I need so I have no complaints! read more

This is just for the pharmacy. The store itself is great and I love the people that work there. I just had my wisdom teeth out. I'm in too much pain to deal with people and leave the house to pick up pain medication. My friend offered to pick them up for me and even called ahead to make sure he was aware of all their policies on doing this. They lied to him, were super rude to him and ignored him when he showed up for the second time to bring in my insurance card that they only told him he needed after he went in the first time. The manager of this location, Kevin, was really awesome even though there wasn't anything he could do. Go to literally any other pharmacy and you'll be fine. The Walgreens pharmacist told him what he needed to bring and got him all situated in a pace that is normal for a busy pharmacist read more

Don't go to this pharmacy, the entire pharmaceutical staff are imbeciles. Last time I tried to fill a prescription the Asian pharmacist hassled me over my insurance and refused to call them to deal with it. Today I tried to drop off a prescription and the white pharmacist didn't even put it into the computer. He looked at the prescription, looked at me funny, and said "I have to verify this with your doctor first." He was definitely profiling me, I've never been told that before ever, they simply checked in the computer first. If I was wearing a suit and tie I bet he wouldn't have thought twice about it. It IS a controlled substance but they have the ability to verify over the computer. Plus I have an incision that bled through my bandages today and an ostomy that are still healing from my recent surgeries, so obviously I'm not faking my pain. I don't think all QFC locations are bad, just this one. read more

This QFC is usually a good one! Helpful employees, good selection for deli and bakery. That's the only reason for the extra star. No stars for the photo and money order desk. We were referred here from Walgreens, because we are new to the area and looking for someone who deals with Western Union. Instead of receiving polite assistance, we were met with a group of employees standing around, one of them behind the counter eating a corn dog. The one who wasn't eating lunch was giving short answers to our questions and was really snappy and impatient. If you can't help us, at least be polite about it! read more

This is a busy store. Take care when you enter the parking lot because you pass an oil change joint that can be problematic. I mention this because I've nearly been tapped twice by exiting cars speeding away from Jiffy Lube... There doesn't seem to be many markets in that area so they might be the only game in town, unless you head to Maple Leaf or Lake City. It's a good thing they had well-stocked aisles and nicely arranged produce. I've only stopped in for specific things, not to do all of my shopping here. Every time I've been in, I've been able to get what I needed quickly and with little fuss. Parking was easy and staff was friendly. read more
