    Trader Joe's Shoreline

Unique grocer location carrying Vegan and plant-based products, fruits, vegetables, wine, and food items.

Lots of food options customer service is always great. Ambience is very free spirited I love coming to any Trader Joe's locations. This one is just like the others. Great stuff great prices great cashiers and great parking.

    Amazing ice cream selection

This is our go-to local grocery store. Their prices best competing big name stores. Their selection is great and always stocked up! The service is nice and helpful. There are always so many employees on shift, you will always have something there to help without running all around. I do not recommend going on weekends. As expected lines are long. Parking is full. Their lot is pretty small and always full to begin with. The store is clean and fun. They did a little rearranging recently.

    So many tasty salad options.

I enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's in general and this Shoreline location does not disappoint. There is abundant parking, though when it is super busy one may have to circle a bit before a spot opens up. This is the Trader Joe's location closest to where I currently reside in Shoreline and it is nice to have nearby especially when picking up semi-prepared dinner items. Recently we have been trying the different raw and marinated meats for dinner which has been fun. Even more fun is that my dad, my mom, and I are finding we like the same things. Sometimes we disagree on what we like best from a given store, but here we are finding harmony on what we enjoy. The prepared salads have diversified over the past few years to include options the store did not carry before. The gluten-free breads selection is my favorite of any grocery store in the Shoreline area. Produce and frozen fruits are consistent in product quality. Sometimes the offerings can be a bit picked over, but tis the trend we are finding in these COVID-19 times. This can also be true if shopping during peak times or towards the end of peak times before the shelves can be replenished. The cart sanitation process is fast and we haven't had any problems not being able to get a cart when we have come shopping here during COVID-19 times. Workers have been consistently friendly in their interactions with us when we have visited. I have also noticed the workers tend to talk, sometimes loudly, about topics while in the store even when semi-busy. Typically I encounter this more when there are fewer patrons, so just an interesting observation for this location. It is neither good nor bad, just a thing I have encountered here and not so commonly elsewhere. And the Blarney Scone. Very thankful that Trader Joe's carries their Blarney Scone Irish Soda Bread around Saint Patrick's Day. We got a loaf to try and that ended up snowballing into my mom and I making Irish Soda Bread for the first time on Saint Patrick's Day 2021. Twas the Blarney Scone that inspired us.

See the plastic I found in the salad!!!

I found bits of plastic in this premade salad..... I told the manager and he didn't see to worry too much. I asked they pull the rest of them from the shelves. Several days later they call me to tell me all the recalls were voluntary then offered me $50 for the inconvenience and asked if I'm feeling okay....... I was like f- off I'm never buying from this place again.... How many recalls does a company need before you're like "nope".....

A newer location, this particular establishment is a bit larger (at least it seems) and clean. We love the frozen fallafel with spicy harissa sauce combined with Greek yogurt that we sampled (in Bellingham) and purchased. We wish this location also had small carts for children, as they are truly a highlight, but the store, itself makes up for the lack.

I love Trader Joe's. I typically visit the Belred location as well as this one in Shoreline. Not only are the food items packaged in the perfect quantity for me and my family but there's always a great variety of selection (ever changing and never boring) and the employees who work in both location are just so friendly and fun and always willing to share w me great recipes or product recommendations. Today the nice lady who helped me at checkout shared w me her story of her rescued dog once I started talking about mine. U always feel like you are valued not only as a shopper but a fellow human being. The folks that work here are always so genuine and therefore making the shopping experience a positive one! Comparing that with my most recent traumatic experience shopping at Central Market in Shoreline, which is a part of Town & Country Market ( see yelp review), it makes me have an even greater appreciation for markets such as Trader Joe's and PCC and Costco who do value their shoppers and treat them as such. I am so grateful for these places and that my grocery shopping experience can be pleasant and fun. Below I posted pix of some of the items I picked up today. They have been items that I repeated purchase as they are just so consistently yummy. The Bay scallops are another fav unfortunately not always available (seasonal) so I didn't find them today.

Old baguettes. Nice staff and cashiers. Finding stale bread is easy at this store. Maybe good for feeding ducks.

This site at 175th & 15th has both a well kept grocery store and fuel station. I also feel much safer in the store, parking lot or gas station. I often find all items on my grocery list which also helps towards accuring fuel discount points. Often the prices are as good as Costco without the crazy lines! Selection is decent. Prices are competitive. Interactions with checkout, customer service, and meat department staff have been helpful and personable. This was especially notable during two visits during the holiday season obtaining a free 12 pound turkey, nicely cut 9 pound beef rib roast (timely butcher assistance), and a 10 pound spiral cut ham. I used to cut coupons, then used my ancient Safeway card for savings. However, today (12/23/24) I actually downloaded the app and received significant digital savings on the rib roast and spiral cut ham. As a Shoreline resident, we're lucky to have choices where we shop: Safeway, Fred Meyer, Costco, Trader Joe's, Town & Country, and various international indie markets. This particular Safeway does the job and very glad that earlier mega merger with Kroger did not go through.

So today, Saturday 8 April 2023, I came to check out the bakery options as Safeway tends to have a good variety of baked good items. I was in luck and got the last jalapeño and cheddar cheese bagel from the bakery bulk foods as well as a slice of a lemon mousse cake. Both items were delicious and well priced. I was particularly impressed with the cake offerings. The self check out was busy, but easy to navigate and the machines straightforward to use and glitch free. Parking was abundant and located near the entrance.

He's…read moresomewhat right as it has a similar feel, but the portions aren't giant and the prices on many things are indeed competitive. The big attraction here is the Bulk section that has many options - rice, pasta, beans, grains and more. My frequently visited bulk section is the pet treats area. scored chew bones for the pup here at a great deal and less packaging than if I go someplace else. I like how they target us consumers with literal signs showing the price comparisons to the likes of Safeway, Walmart and my personal favorite Fred Meyer which is my main grocery shop and even some prices at WinCo beat them. At the same time, not EVERYthing at WinCo is a deal, or if it is lower, it is negligible. Sticking with the pet food, a 6 individual cans of Purina One, (my preferred) dog canned food is $1.85 here, down from $1.99 at Freddies, I'm all about saving money and frugality, but I couldn't imagine going out of the way for that. Alcohol here is actually more expensive that Freddies or otherwise here at $12.99 for Georgetown 6 packs, compared to $10.99 at Freddies. These are but a few measures, so I know there are deals to be had, but it pays to be a savvy shopper too. My hang ups here are they don't take Credit card. I'm sure that's to help cut down on their expense and middleman, etc. but that's annoying. Also I don't know if it's me but it just feels even more cramped in here than the already cramped markets, we all frequent. I felt like I was constantly blocking somebody even with my cart pulled all the way to the side. Beyond that WinCo is ok.

The prices are insanely high, they are even higher than PCC for many items. The people that work there are a mix, some are super friendly and nice, but there are a couple weirdos that work there that make me turn around if I walk in and see it's only them working at the registers. Their names are Jimmie and Sam. Sam sells chocolate bars he makes at the store, or the store sells them? Any way, I don't eat chocolate bars or dairy and they are made with milk chocolate. And they are $7. I think it's great to support people, but I won't eat the chocolate bars and the store is already too expensive, so I'm not going to buy it and there is SO MUCH PRESSURE TO BUY THE CHOCOLATE. And Sam has a major attitude because I don't want to buy the stupid chocolate bars. Very passive aggressive. With rising costs everywhere the last thing I want is to be pressured to buy something I don't want at a grocery store when I'm just struggling to survive. And Jimmie is just a major weirdo. There are also a few older ladies that always have an attitude for no apparent. I'm a very friendly and polite person, but I'm also the customer so I shouldn't be the one greeting them and telling them to have a nice day while they basically tell me to f*** off. It's very much a small town vibe and I feel like an outsider the shouldn't be there. I am very grateful for Grocery Outlet opening near by so I mostly go there for last minute items and I avoid Thriftway at all costs because I don't want to be pressured into buying the stupid gross chocolate or deal with weirdos with attitude.
