First time here. I typically shop at PCC in Bothell. Stopped by to see what they had inside. Prices are definitely higher than PCC. They did have a very good selection of Indian cuisine and flours my client was looking for. We did not taste the food. The service was good no complaints. We had our own bags. The floral area was beautiful- prices were a little high for the presentation of the plants and flowers, pretty though. We did find a few bargains on water and storage containers. They did have the flour we needed to make Pudi, Roti ans Bryani this afternoon. We recommend this store when in the area. It was not very busy either.

This place is more expensive than PCC, and there's nothing special about the products. The clerks and baggers are always nice though.

The customer ahead of me had a large number of groceries that she was bagging herself while Zakia stood by, looking pretty. I had a single quart of eggnog. While I was tapping my credit card, Zakia picked up my wallet and phone from the ledge next to the credit card machine and tried to hand them to the customer still bagging her groceries. I objected, of course. That wasn't all Zakia did. She said to me, "You're good to go." I started to leave before realizing that my egg nog was still sitting, out of reach, to Zakia's right on the conveyor belt. She did not hand me the receipt. Instead, she placed it face down on top of a messy pile of coupons. I could not have exited the store without showing my receipt to the security guard. Even if today was Zakia's first day of work, I will never understand how she can think It was appropriate to touch, much less pick up and hand off, another person's extremely sensitive and valuable personal property. The thing to do is to SPEAK and ask the customer bagging her groceries if the wallet and phone belonged to her. I also would have preferred to wait while Zakia did her job and bagged those groceries herself.

This site at 175th & 15th has both a well kept grocery store and fuel station. I also feel much safer in the store, parking lot or gas station. I often find all items on my grocery list which also helps towards accuring fuel discount points. Often the prices are as good as Costco without the crazy lines! Selection is decent. Prices are competitive. Interactions with checkout, customer service, and meat department staff have been helpful and personable. This was especially notable during two visits during the holiday season obtaining a free 12 pound turkey, nicely cut 9 pound beef rib roast (timely butcher assistance), and a 10 pound spiral cut ham. I used to cut coupons, then used my ancient Safeway card for savings. However, today (12/23/24) I actually downloaded the app and received significant digital savings on the rib roast and spiral cut ham. As a Shoreline resident, we're lucky to have choices where we shop: Safeway, Fred Meyer, Costco, Trader Joe's, Town & Country, and various international indie markets. This particular Safeway does the job and very glad that earlier mega merger with Kroger did not go through.

So today, Saturday 8 April 2023, I came to check out the bakery options as Safeway tends to have a good variety of baked good items. I was in luck and got the last jalapeño and cheddar cheese bagel from the bakery bulk foods as well as a slice of a lemon mousse cake. Both items were delicious and well priced. I was particularly impressed with the cake offerings. The self check out was busy, but easy to navigate and the machines straightforward to use and glitch free. Parking was abundant and located near the entrance.

There aren't a lot of staff on the floor (like EVERY grocery store) but they are helpful and knowledgeable. Packaged, bulk and organic veggies. Not the prettiest in town but that's ok. Well-stocked, reasonably priced refrigerated salad dressing. Large bulk item section. Smallish bakery section. Reasonably priced meats (some name brands). Extensive dairy section with Darigold FIT milk. Organic eggs. The seasonal aisle is up front. That's where things go on sale. They haven't reorganized in the years I've been shopping here. Once you're familiar with the layout, zoom. Good prices every day. No loss leaders. If you're worried one of the big three has something on sale, price check with their apps. Self checkout (15 recommended limit) is now debit only. You can use Apple Pay if you have a cash card installed. Cash is now (late 2025) taken only at staffed registers. No CCs. May not be the best store for once-a-month shopping as you bag your own (unless there are two folks shopping). I have never seen a shopping cart filled with trash. Occasionally there might be a plastic veggie bag. No boxes like at Costco unless you bring your own. Don't like their bags? Bring your own. (All stores here charge for bags; it's the law.) A few plants outside. Nothing like Freddy's or even QFC. Big parking lot. Hungry? Run to Dick's! Smallish hot food section in the store. What's not to like? The selection of pastries and breads is vast, and they have many classic Mexican pastry options, such as (what I think is called) a concha. They come in multiple colors, but the yellow stood out to me. It's chewy with a slight crunch and perfect level of sweetness and a light fluffy texture. I don't have any other pastry to compare it to, so you'll just have to get one for yourself! The price was great too, the pastry and a bottled water was $3.91. The cashier was efficient. It's not much to look at from the outside, and the inside isn't anything special. I was also hoping an employee greeted me when I walked through the door, but it wasn't a big deal.
