Great quality food, very overpriced. Have found lots of prepackage products like coconut water, carbonated water, and different snacks almost half the price at QFC across the street. Last 2 times I have gotten cream cheese out of the new refrigerator area it has been either black or blue when opened, which leads me to question how good the new fridges are. This store is great... when they have what you want in stock. Popular items that you didn't think were popular go out of stock so fast. If you try to shop after 5 PM, chances are they won't have what you want. Why not just sell more of those items then and less of the ones no one wants? read more

I love PCC. Entering into the store, the deli counter calls to me. They offer wonderful risotto mushroom cakes, parm chicken patties and a variety of love vegetable salads . PCc has broaden my taste buds to food encounters i have never experienced. Next, I see baked goods stack. So many good choices. Bagels, donuts, fritters and my favorite oatmeal cranberry cookies. Next, I go to the hot food choices. Ohhh and love the selection. Roasted vegetables. Moroccan chicken. Balsamic chicken. Thai vegetables. And the variety of soups. You can select their fresh cornbread too. At another station. I load up. Salads are offered, along with pizza and burritos. A huge selection of beverages and pre made sandwiches and quiche. I wish I was finished, but only the start. Love the hot soups, nice healthy choices. Incredible selection of teas. Bulk items, so many I cannot describe. Specialty dessert. Great seafood. Organic meats. Huge wine selection. Wonderful organic makeup and skin care. By this time, you have reached the gem of the store, their produce. So many great organic choices. PCC is my family and my go-to place for organic foods close to home at a fair and reasonable price. These days we tend to find produce, such as turnips, here that we are unable to find elsewhere nearby. Another example of recent is that of a few grocery stores we visited PCC was the only one we found to carry small lemons. The product selection is diverse and it can be easy to get sucked into window shopping and trying new things here. So we try to come with a targeted list to make sure we don't get too distracted. The hot foods area is great if you want to pick up something ready-to-go or ready-to-eat for lunch or dinner. Tofu, my oh my the tofu product selection is amazing. I went through a brief vegetarian phase growing up and this PCC was my favorite place to come to get tofu/non-meat protein products. Some of the products I found I enjoyed so much that I continued to eat them even when I went back to eating meat. This store used to have self check-out but does not as of current. Nice to have people interaction. Something to keep in mind if you are seeking to go to a store and have zero human interaction, this might not be the store for you. 1. Five stars for selection and being careful about its choice of products 2. 1 Star for not better managing patrons. Don't wear masks properly. The woman entered the store with a mask off of her nose. When I reminded her that she had it down she complained it fogs up her black glasses and it's hard to breathe with it so there. I spoke to an experienced cashier who spoke to her and then she put it on correctly. Though she then moved back down again. Bravo for the one checker who called her out on it. But the checker whose line she was in was younger and would not do anything. They have got to empower their checkers to Address those who are violating the law. This is for their own safety and the safety of all their shoppers. We are not going to stores that are not able to teach all their staff how to manage such situations. The woman was well dressed and with another woman who were the mask correctly. The woman clearly did not have a disability or reason why she should not be wearing it. She seemed quite entitled. I recently bought a membership to PCC and generally feel like they have good quality items, but today I came in and bought a container of precut watermelon and it had not only a super long hair in it (not mine, i have a short pixie cut), but also a fly. Guess I won the lottery. Still pretty grossed out. I had already eaten half the container, but I threw the rest away. I wish I had gotten a pic of the long hair but it went straight from my mouth to the trash. How do hairs and bugs make it past quality control anyhow? read more

I appreciate the selection of organic, local, quality food at The PCC Community stores. I generally go to the newer Capitol Hill Store and am so pleased to have this store in my neighborhood. The check-out folks here are friendly and the folks in all the departments are very helpful, however about 3 times in the last year when the cashier needed to ask a question of the manager at the Capitol Hill store he definitely did NOT make me feel like I was a valued customer. read more

Staff is great, products are fresh and nice quality, the hot bar and deli have a great selection. The actual groceries are more pricey than I'd like on a weekly basis, but I'll get ingredients here for making special birthday meals and WOW is the difference apparent. No matter what or how you eat you will find what you need and want at the PCC Market. In fact you'll find things that you never knew you wanted or needed, and occasionally things that you've never heard of that you'll find yourself gravitating toward wanting to try. I love the live food section. The kimchi is different but really good. The sauerkraut is absolutely hands down the best anywhere. I have shopped at the PCC for regular groceries but I usually find myself in the sections and have the pre-made food. I really appreciate the wide variety of salad and sandwich options. Every now and again I'll stop and grab breakfast for the road. The bacon is usually very crisp and tasty but twice I had to take it back in the store because it was flimsy and greasy. Otherwise, I've had no issues with what I've purchased at the PCC market. If you are a health nut already, or a wannabe, or if you just want good, healthy, clean food, this is a place you want to shop. It will definitely squeeze your wallet because the prices are high, but for being able to find food that you can count on being good for you it's worth it. read more

I visited Edmonds PCC in search of a specific organic dried fruit which does not seem to be available at other grocery stores. I was assisted by an accommodating store employee who helped me locate 2 brands, one high-priced and one more reasonably priced. This is success! Also, found my fav organic chicken livers which will be available later in the week @ 4.99/lb. Love the produce department. So well done. Some items are pricey, but the variety is exceptional. Ambiance is delightful. As a side note, the produce department is artistically well-done. I found 2 fresh produce items (black plums and local plums) @ 3.99 and 2.99/lb respectively. I did not find these at either QFC or Safeway. I'm glad I stopped by. read more

It's like 1969 teleported every person who had any interest in organic farming straight into the future and deposited them in Edmonds. How does patchouli smell after 50 years? Like patchouli (unfortunately). Regarding the products, I'm fine with the groceries. Hippie food, but still food. However, the cold bar and deli? Why are the folks making this food so adverse to flavor? Carob is not a flavor. Bland is not a flavor. I suppose lemon is a flavor, but dont leave it hanging all by itself. If I had a million dollars, I would spend $45 on salt and donate it to PCC so it could increase its annual seasoning budget by 200%. Not sure what is up with the person at the cash register, but he was really passive aggressive with my sister who went first to check out her items. My sister didn't hear him ask if she wanted her receipt (and i didn't either) since he kind of mumbled and well, we have masks. It wasn't even loud around us, so she said responded asking for the receipt and he said "yeah that's what I asked" with this really demeaning tone. It's like dude? why that attitude. This PCC is the only one in Snohomish County and the farthest location to the north in the chain. As PCC locations go, this is quite a nice store. I had no idea there was one in Edmonds but was glad to come across it while driving in the area. I stopped at this PCC to grab some lunch before heading to the waterfront to take some pics. This location seems larger than most of the PCC stores that I have frequented. I would say it is about the size of the Fremont store. They have a huge deli section with plenty of food choices to be had including plenty of refrigerated items that make it easy to pick up something to go. Was looking for a sandwich from the case. Unlike other stores, sandwiches at PCC are priced based on weight which gives you the option to pick out the one that works best for your budget and appetite. There is a good mix of meat and vegetarian options that will please everyone. The fresh mozzarella sandwich that I had was delicious. In addition to the deli, they have a bakery section as well as a coffee bar and a gelato case. The prepared foods section here is almost on par with Whole Foods, though it does not have as extensive of a selection of hot foods. The coffee bar selection does seem better however. In addition to coffee drinks, they have a self serve drip coffee area. There was more than one type of coffee to choose from including Tony's Coffee and Caffé Vita (Theo Blend!). The parking situation is great. The store has a large lot so you should not have a problem finding a space. And the location is just up the road from the Edmonds Ferry Terminal. Pretty much a straight drive. It is very convenient to grab something to go at PCC before or after the boat ride depending on where you are heading. read more

I came in starving for something I could cook quickly after biking 53 miles from Quilcene to Edmonds right before they closed...and was not disappointed. The store is clean and welcoming, everyone working in the store is friendly and helpful, and it's well stocked with all the best stuff. I ended up getting tortellini and sauce, but I could have easily bought $100 more worth of food if I could fit it on my bike. One of the store chefs even offered me some of their premade meals, but it had eggs in it (I've got a wicked allergy). This is the kind of place you want to find when you're hungry and want something quality. Also, they have a bike rack, but it's a little tucked away and hard to find. read more

We shopped for our Thanksgiving meat and poultry here . The prime tenderloin of beef , which was about 50 dollars, was so tasty and tender.. one of the best roasts we have ever cooked at home. We bought a High quality turkey breast , which turned out beautifully. It was slightly less than 50 dollars for a 6 pound breast. I know that PCC has some really yummy prepared foods such as soups, salads,baked goodies , breads etc. If you want to splurge a bit on a special meal, I highly recommend shopping here. Comparing this store to Whole Fds, as it's price structure is similar , in my opinion, PCC beats the competitor for high quality produce, specialty milks, special or specific ingredients that can't always be found elsewhere. We like their selection of very high quality foods . This is a home chefs precious resource. They also have nice quality cleaning products, Papyrus brand greeting cards,an array of special soaps and luxury bath items. This review is only specific to this location. I've been to many stores in Edmonds but this one takes a lion's share of ridiculous. Staff are not friendly, I get sort of a racist / elitist vibe from this place. Every time I've been here there is always a security guard or a cop standing by. This is Edmonds not downtown Seattle. The only crime taking place is the pricing and poor service. Also, when I order a full pizza it never fits the box at all. It's always layered over one slice over slice. That's just lazy, sloppy and poorly executed service. Also, I see lots of single slices left under a heating lamp for hours. I never get this level of service at the Fremont or the Greenlake location. At least at those location, there are actually friendly staff and the pizza is made right. read more

Shopped at the Edmonds store today and can't help but feel disappointed and on advice that PCCs culture is changing for the worse. I'm a member and willingly pay a good bit more for groceries at PCC than I would if I shopped elsewhere. The value to me is largely located in the service, culture, and efficiency inherent in shopping there. I'm used to having PCCs butcher help when I need something cut, sliced, trimmed, etc. My upcoming trip out of town has me cooking salmon for a group and I requested that the 2.5 lbs of king I was going to buy have the pin bones removed prior to purchase. This is a typical service a butcher or fish monger will perform quickly and with great skill where I will inevitably make a wreck out of what was once a lovely piece of fish. The gentleman politely apologised saying that he wasn't allowed to do that; he couldn't de-bone the fish for me. It sounded like it was a matter of policy? Knowing that I can get this request accomodated at another high quality vendor tomorrow, I decided to pass on buying from PCC. What's truly galling is that the co-op's own ad copy states: "OUR IN-STORE BUTCHERS DON'T BELIEVE IN PRE-CUTS OR SHORTCUTS. Have you ever chatted with one of our in-store butchers? Questions are welcome -- and encouraged. Our butchers love to talk shop and give you the inside scoop on freezing, preparing and shopping for meat. If you don't know how to trim the fat off a chuck eye roast or debone a leg of lamb, or if you need something special, you can head to the meat counter and have your order trimmed and portioned to your preference. Plus, they grind each variety of meat in-store daily for the highest quality and freshness." That copy is patently misleading and quite honestly surprising in its contrast to what I experienced today. I'm taking my time to write tonight because I have a long history with the co-op. I have fond memories of the the culture, creativity, and service the staff were once encouraged to provide. Today reminds me that we vote with our dollars. There are numerous vendors that would have happily helped me today. Regretfully, PCC wasn't one of them. read more

Re the deli: Used to love grabbing food here on our way to the ferry. This evening (2nd similar experience) 6 people working behind the counter, 6 people in line, 1 person working the counter. Everyone else standing there avoiding eye contact.... At least the food is over priced. read more

I continue to love this store and am so happy that it came to the area. I've been a long time fan of PCC but could not make it nearly as often when I had to drive to Seattle to access it. Its small enough that it does not feel overwhelming and is super easy to pop in and out of. The parking lot has become a little bit more hectic since they built some other things in the lot, but its still manageable. It has a large variety of products and always something I am hoping for. There is a nice dry goods area. We end up purchasing beer here frequently. I now get mostly all my of my food to take to potlucks from the deli area. Most recently everyone raved about the vegan potato salad and could not believe it had no eggs or dairy in it. I'm a fan of the steph's tofu and the emerald city salad as well. My non veg boyfriend loves that they have meat based items too. The soups are also good. I also often find myself substituting meals out to get food from the deli here instead. It does end up being a bit pricey, but is great to bring for picnics and every once in awhile some of the items are on sale. The outside dining area is a nice place to enjoy a meal too. If its too crowded there is some seating in the produce area as well. I have taken a few classes at this location and am always happy I did. My mother enjoyed her first experience as well. I look forward to the calendar coming out each quarter. I also highly recommend the walk, talk and taste classes if you have an interest in trying samples and asking questions. They have been doing some about different ones about topics like fermentation, dairy vs non dairy, etc. You can also find some coupons to save some money in the Chinook book which they sell in the store. read more

PCC, I adore thee. Thank you for having things like organic coconut ice cream, freshly baked German pretzels and yummy things to grab on the go. PCC is expensive as hell so I will hardly be coming in but I will be here for the few specialty food items I enjoy. To give you an idea, it's pricier than Whole Foods for the most part. You'll be paying what you would for dining out at a nice restaurant for things like chicken and beef so what's the point of buying it uncooked? However, there are some cool things here and if you're super into organic and vegetarian foods and have the checkbook to cover it, you might not mind. Their staff is always helpful, anytime I have something going on they have some sort of natural treatment, like when I got horrible charley horses, they had a product to help me and it worked! I enjoy visiting PCC community market. It is fun to explore all the fresh foods and the deli area for great food choices. Everything I have purchased in the deli and food bar has been delicious and fresh. My husband and I bought a couple chicken chalupas and they were incredible. I have only seen them there a couple times. I guess the chef decides when they want to make them. If you see them there definitely grab one up! They go quickly. You won't be disappointed . They took away self checkout to give customers the "sense of community". Now there is 1-2 check out lines available vs the previous 4 self checkouts. This makes the wait time at least double, and sometimes each line has 5 or more people waiting to check out. Some of us just want to checkout quickly without having to "chit chat" and talk about how our day is going. Please bring back self checkout! 4 stars for most fresh food and nice employees. 2 stars for no self checkout and soggy tomatoes, lettuce, and brown avocado in the cold pre-made sandwiches. Some cold sandwiches are old and shouldn't be sold for the same price as a fresh sandwich. They are super expensive to begin with and it's unfortunate when I bite into an old soggy sandwich. I now look at the tomato, lettuce and avocado to make sure it looks fresh before I buy or else I skip it. read more

I ordered my FRESH 12 lb Thanksgiving turkey about 2 weeks ago. Picked it up as requested Thanksgiving eve. However didn't realize it was partly frozen until the next day. Ummm I ORDERED A FRESH not FROZEN turkey, plus it was bruised. Lesson learned never will order from them. Picked up a $18.00 apple pie. Stupid on my part. Why is this the first time I have walked into a PCC. It's a smaller, less expensive version of a Whole Foods (score!). E.g. Le Croix can of sparkling water $.99 at Whole Foods vs. $.49 at PCC. They have great natural, healthy pre-made and packaged snack options. Even got the vegan chocolate chip cookies which were really, really good. My husband couldn't even taste the difference! Would definitely recommend coming here for future option. Store is much smaller than a Whole Foods but has a great variety of items. read more

As much as I love the groceries, products and hot food PCC sells I can't fathom shopping here more than once every few months. Any time I come here to the Deli there is some young and rude employee "working" and "serving" the counter. They act as if they are too busy to answer questions or give samples of foods that they sell. Uh.. excuse me do you really think I'm going to spend 19.99/lb on beef or salmon that I haven't tasted before I make my purchase. Stop skimping dollars and hire better workers or provide them with better training so they don't alienate your customers! read more

Very well-equipped healthy food store. It has a strong feel of a small Whole Foods Store. We didn't actually buy anything here because I was looking for a specific tea flavor and while they carried the brand they didn't carry the tea flavor. Not their fault.
