So no matter how many people are in there (gets pretty busy) you really don't have to wait at all. Tenderloins and Ribeyes are the best out of any store I've found in the area, also best prices. Meats are always good but today the bone I am picking is with the staff and the meat they sold me. I came in asking for 4 rib eye steaks that were as close to the same same as possible. This was really bad - almost comical but it did make things really uncomfortable when I'm feeding 3 other adults. These aren't even CLOSE in size and it was obvious that they didn't even try. Next time I'll have to inspect more closely and have them show me all the pieces since they wanted trust issues with customers. Overall - a delicious feast was had by all and that is what mostly matters. read more

I thought I had previously left a review for Double D Meats. I went back here this morning looking for corned beef for my annual St Patrick's Day dinner. I was determined to buy one that promised to be flavorful and a size that fits my needs. I was not disappointed at all. The staff are ALWAYS so much more than just the normal cursory help, but go out of their way. I picked up a couple of sausages to try as well. They offer a wide variety of sausages and specialty meat products like pancetta and unique cured meats. There are lots of staff ready to serve you and answer questions. Inside the store, there are multiple aisles of hot sauces. As a fan of spicy food, I found some incredibly spicy hot sauces that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Came here with my boyfriend to pick up some meat for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience. The staff was super attentive and helpful when we were deciding what to get. I had a seen a lot of reviews mentioning the Spencer Steak, so we gave it a try. If you like soft, fatty cuts of meat, this one is amazing. We cooked it on a stainless steel pan and finished it in the oven. Besides the meat, I also love this place for its hot sauce selection. They carry the hot sauces from Red Star in Fremont (one of my favorites) along with a bunch of fun local ones. I have come here on a few occasions. Make sure you plan ahead if you plan to come around holidays or major events because this shop has people packed in like a New York deli shop. Otherwise, come early a normal day to get the best fresh cuts. read more

I'm just going to pile on the positive reviews here because this place really is meat heaven. Just stepping inside you will notice how busy and hopping everything is. There's so many people behind the counter, grabbing meat of all kinds and yelling things and I just loved the vibe. The meat behind the Glass all looked so fresh and everything looked marbled well and priced well. My friend mentioned that their deli turkey is even cheaper than the grocery store and tasted so much better. I've gotten steaks here a few times and they never failed me. I got pork belly here to make a Chinese dish and my mom was really impressed at how clean the meat was and the quality really showed through the taste. Not only are they known for their meat, but the store is full of aisles and aisles of different condiments and sauces of all kinds and sodas of all kinds. I got my husband probably six or seven different kinds of root beers so that he could taste test all the variety and figure out which brand he liked the best. This place was phenomenal. I am so glad I moved closer to this place because I plan on frequenting here to get all my fresh meat. read more

Amazing place and I wouldn't say anything about it except the secret is already out. This place has great meat and a FANTASTIC collection of bbq and hot sauces. On the bbq side, I'm from the Midwest and they have almost every small batch sauce from every good restaurant I can think of in KC and StL. Still the best place in the north end if you are looking for a proper butcher. Even with the insane inflation of groceries, this store tries to fairly price their products and one can still find a lot of deals on protein shopping here. They are a local, woman owned business and one of the cornerstones of MLT, being one of the only original businesses still standing since I moved to the area (then away, then back recently) 39 years ago. Also, if you need a boneless prime rib for the holidays, this is the place to get one. I was able to walk in a week or so before Christmas to grab a 5 pounder that was vacuum packed for Xmas dinner that next week, and the meat quality was A+. I think it helped that I didn't overcook it, but it was one of the best prime ribs I have ever eaten! This meat shop was recommended to me years ago and I've been so happy with the multiple Easter smoked hams, the bbq ribs and twice baked potatoes I e purchased over the years. But a couple of days ago, I wanted to fire up my BBQ for an easy dinner with friends. I perused the meat selection and saw their HUGE smoked pork chops. $5.98 per pound. So very much worth it!!! I didn't even need the grill! I bought three, brought them to room temp and seared them on both sides with olive oil and S&P in my cast iron skillets. Then in the oven for 18 minutes at 350. The last four minutes on high broil. OMG! Absolutely amazing and cannot recommend them enough. The smoked flavor was intense and perfect, quite honestly. It is so much fun to come and look at all the hot sauces, and they keep a good inventory. There was only one hot sauce out of my list of 5 that they did not have in stock, and I was able to find out about its status within 5 minutes. I can't wait to come back because my hot sauce haul isn't exactly going to be lasting long. This is a hot sauce lover's heaven. Today I got hot sauces from California and even one from Africa! The store is truly overwhelming. You can spend hours just browsing the sauce section. They have the best Cajun and Creole products in the general area, maybe all of Northern Seattle. I brought alligator and fried it up, and it was absolutely delicious and fresh. They actually have muffluetta mix, boudin, and frog legs! Definitely check out their meat pacts for the most bang for your buck. Buying the $129 choice pact lasted my small family several months, and we were extremely impressed with the quality, fat was trimmed, but they left fat in adequate places like for steaks which is ideal and my preference. The reason why I only gave them four stars is the service... The store is very popular, their hours aren't conventional, but the refusal to use a numbering system is confusing. Like why not? Does the owner enjoy the chaos and confusion? Is that part of their "stitch"? They don't want any customers who can't ignore the mayhem? Also, some of their employees can act somewhat odd. I don't know how to explain it, but when I'm trying to browse and the same employee asks if I need any help. She does it in a way that suggests a "hurry up your trip and buy!" manner and I can't help but feel annoyed. Something else to consider that repeat customers know the price, you don't have to repeat the price like it's too expensive for me. read more

My family and I come to Double DD Meats to get some of our choice meat cuts. Beef jerky is my go-to snack when on driving adventure trips. Nothing beats Double DD Meats' beef jerky. We keep it refrigerated after purchase and it is a perfect snack when on the road or at home. It is easy to chew and the beef cuts the perfect thickness to make to each bite feel hardy. The other meat cut I enjoy from here is the Canadian Bacon. The slices are thick and brown up well in the frying pan under medium-high heat. Cook it at too low a heat and it doesn't really brown, so I cook it at a higher heat to get that beautiful golden brown outside. The Canadian Bacon is a little smokier in flavor than the Canadian Bacon I get at other stores. It took a little getting used to because it was different, but I love it now that I have figured out how to cook it the way I like in my daily lunch scramble. Service is friendly and to the point. Eh. Not impressed. The meat here is just okay. And it doesn't seem that well taken care of. I've seen better quality meat at just about every grocery store. And the exotic cuts (frozen) are few and far between, and stock there seems to vary wildly. I would not come here for meat. There are better places. What this is a place for is hot sauces, BBQ sauces, cooking and marinating liquids, and other condiment style foods (pickled foods mostly). Worth a trip here to see this collection.
