Slow, expensive, and inconvenient. For some reason, this QFC set prices higher than the one in Greenwood. Also, they don't seem to care very much about speedy service... I have had checkers walk away from a line of people before in the express lanes, as well as watching checkers spill the customers food as well. I have to wonder how many of their check-out people are just checked out. read more

HORRIBLE store, HORRIBLE cashiers, HORRIBLE management.... I don't know how they conduct business with most people but I have never experience such horrible grocery shopping in my life !!! The cashiers were rude - and I'm not sure what I did to deserve her (GLADYS) wrath, but she verbally assaulted me for swipe of my payment when the machine said "swipe payment now" (( i think she was trying to do some sort of points/rewards thing for herself )) I approached manager after the verbal assault and asked for an explanation and was treated like a dog and dismissed. GO somewhere else !!! Horrible parking too !!! read more

Kroger is raking the money in but only making life harder for valiant front-line staff, whose grace under fire I admire. If a mistake occurs when you order online, consider the money gone. (I am still waiting for a refund on an item that wasn't delivered weeks ago in a pick-up situation.) Kroger is clearly not putting its profits into improving electronic or any other systems. It's too busy reducing employee hazard pay and benefits during a pandemic to bother. I'm neither a staff member nor a relative of one, only a longtime customer who is distressed at this company's hypocrisy and disregard. read more

This is a pretty spacious QFC! They have a pretty good selection and a decent parking lot. Prices are a little on the high side but it is a QFC. You know what the coolest thing about this QFC is? The have ping pong balls near all the beer and wine and a little stand with ping pong balls, wine, and purple and gold Solo cups. I wonder what they are advocating there!! read more

What the hell is wrong with the U District? It seems like everyone who works in this place and shops in this place has his and her heads up the butt. Carts jam the aisles, people get in the way, people reach in front of you without saying "excuse me." And would it kill the employees to help a lady out? There are always a million people stocking and walking around, and they completely ignore you. Even the butchers are assholes. The ONLY consistently pleasant employee experience I have had here, and in most stores, is with the wine guy. Nice, informative, inquisitive - these dude loves his job and loves you for drinking the products that he lovingly stocks. Don't get me wrong, the place has everything you would possibly want. I go here when I have a list of things I can't get at Trader Joe's! The aforementioned beloved wine section is huge and well-stocked. Produce is overpriced, but good. Sushi is good, bakery is good, deli is good. Yeah, the stuff is good - it's the atmosphere that makes me hate going there. And don't even get me started on the parking. The U Village really needs to set something up for just QFC, somehow. It's stupid. read more

I do not like QFC. I don't like the quality of their meat or produce. I used to prefer this location over the Cap Hill location, but I have given up. The lines are always long. One day there was no one in line at the 12 items or less. I thought I had about that much. I pulled up and the checker says 'I think you have more." I told him no, and there's no one in line or behind me, and I need to get out of there, so let's give it a go. He then proceeds to COUNT how many items I have. I complained to the manager because he was standing near the door, and all I got was "we'll talk to him." After working all day, and dragging myself through the grocery store, I'd just had it. I've never been back. The Safeway behind it is not that bad. The seafood is also a mess here and the bakery is consistently awful. I buy things for work here a lot and nothing has tasted right. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store. After shopping at Trader Joe's which I love to do.. and sometimes PCC I come here. I admit they have many items which cost more. I get what I can other places. The clerks are very friendly and knowledgeable. Many are very long time employees and are easy to get to know. They remember you and most of the neighborhood. Their flowers are nice. The meat is excellent quality. I pass by the baked goods and once a month or so I spring for pie... lemon meringue is great. I like the cheese samples. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. I got my wedding cake here and it was AMAZING!!! It was SO delicious, and gorgeous and inexpensive!!! Karen is the wedding cake baker and I could NOT be more happy with my experience with her!!! My husband and I had our original cake order fall through about 2 weeks before our wedding (STRESSFUL!!!!) and I remembered getting a sample box from Karen several months before, so I called to see if there was ANY way she could help us out on such short notice! Karen did a BEAUTIFUL job!!! We got a four layer cake that served 176 for $350, plus $40 delivery fee (UM, totally don't scrimp on that - transporting a wedding cake is serious business!!!) It was exactly perfect for my husband and I!!!! The guests LOVED it and couldn't believe it was from QFC vs some super expensive $7/slice bakery that makes it a week in advance and slaps some fondant on top! I highly recommend that you go to Karen to get your cake for your wedding!!!!! read more

I have never had such a pleasant shopping experience at a grocery store! I accidentally dropped a can of vodka sauce on the ground and my phone fell straight into the sauce; when I told a worker about the accident, he apologized and got people to clean it up and then several other employees started to help me with my phone and apologized repeatedly even though it was completely my fault! I believe it was the manager who gave me sanitizing wipes and paper towels and told me to help myself and to let him know if i needed anything else! As I continued my shopping, several other workers were extremely kind and just had great customer service. read more

I like how spacious this market is. They seem to have a nice selection of items to choose from and as a bonus they are open pretty late. It's also close to the university just one bus away from the dorms. There is also a new parking structure which helps since u vill keeps expanding. read more

QFC - Super helpful staff who were very knowledgeable about cheese and what to pair it with. - Grocery Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Open 24 hours for your convenience! This QFC has a huge selection and is wayy better and cleaner than the one in Ravenna (they need a remodel!). Their bakery has midrange to awesome looking cakes and pastries and tons and tons of yummy bread. They carry consistently good quality produce that I somehow always end up buying even when I don't need it. Also: self check-out! Thank god for fast lines. The only thing I'm not sure about is their sushi, but grocery store sushi is never promising. Redbox, Starbucks, and Noah's are convenient add-ons to make this QFC what Idiocracy-era America is sure to call a Super-QFC! read more

This review is for the beer section only as I have never really shopped here for anything else. Outside of Pike Street Beer and Wine this is my go to store when I am looking to pick up the latest and greatest beer. They have a pretty awesome selection and get pretty much everything that comes into the area and usually have a little extra for a couple days after everyone else sells out. Props for carrying 12 packs of Dales Pale Ale that are usually on sale. read more

This QFC always has everything that I want. Whenever I want it. (Nothing better than grocery shopping with a drunk friend at 3:00am on a Saturday night!). Another thing that they have in their favor is an awesome checker named Tony. Tony, you're awesome . He always seems to be there (running the self-checkout) 99.9% of the time that I go. He remembers me and consistently makes me laugh. I even happened to run into him at Kate's Pub on Halloween, to which I exclaimed "It's my checker, Tony!". He laughed, I laughed, and then I noticed he was hanging out with the receptionist from my Chiropractor's office. Small world. Anyway, the U-district QFC is far superior to most QFCs in the area (excepting, possibily, the QFC at the end of Broadway with the huge housewares section). They get five stars for the following reasons: -Huge -Always Open -Great Selection -Tony -Great Wine Section A star for each. If I have a choice and I'm not on foot, I will always choose this QFC over the smaller, closer one in Wallingford. read more

Food stores seem to always be about compromise. Price vs Quality and breadth of items that I want. This QFC seems to have the best compromise of stuff. The produce section is outstanding. They have a more than reasonable meat, deli, fish, cheese section. Basics are covered well, and shopping sales has always made it worth it. This QFC is my goto store and I go there for at least 90% of my shopping. They don't have everything, but no other store I have been to, has a greater foot print of what I want out of a store. My other 10% of stores are the Met Market on 40th soup and cheese, Whole Foods on Roosevelt salad bar and store prepared foods, Safeway on 45th Tropical fruit sugar free popsicles, Central Market in shoreline for Asian stuff and canned Ice Coffee. The Fred Meyer in Ballard was always a good choice, but it is no longer in my area and no other one is that good. Interestingly, enough, I really don't like almost all of the other QFC's which are cramped, crowded and not good shopping experiences. With the possible exception of the one on Northgate way, but that one still doesn't feel right the wine-pharmacy area feels like some sort of twilight zone. And I hate the low freezers in the back. read more

Now that the parking garage is completed, I can give a full and fair assessment of this store. With parking issues resolved, I can happily report this store gets my 5-stars on any given day. After TJs ran out of Pumpkin Spice mix for my pumpkin pie recipe I panicked. Not wanting to deal with long lines or crowds I mentally prepared for my mission. I don't know why I was worried. I picked up my pie tins, pumpkin spice, whipped cream, and laundry detergent and was out of there in 10 minutes (self-checkout huzzah!) With Kroger (QFC parent brand) offerings for nearly every product, there's no reason to complain about high prices in this store. Liquor is in the building next door, but with beer/wine stewards like Joby and Nick I don't ever need to go over there. They host tastings on Fridays/Saturdays, too. Very cool. read more

This QFC is probably my favorite grocery store. This one is convenient because it's in University Village-- it can make parking atrocious, but on the other hand, you can do all your shopping at once instead of making multiple trips. This store has a great selection, and everything is always nice and fresh: Deli, baked goods, meat, cheese, you name it. I have a special soft spot for the produce section here. They have a lot of organic options, which is nice. I also enjoy the plethora of free samples usually available on Saturdays. The large beer and wine selection is a plus, especially for this loyal New Belgium fan. The plants and flowers are nice, too. For groceries, I'm not sure if I prefer QFC or Trader Joe's, but TJ's doesn't have everything else I need, either (read: cat food, paper towels, cleaning stuff, etc.) It's a little bit more expensive than the Safeway down the road, but not too much more with the membership card, so it ends up being my go-to one-stop-shopping place. read more

QFC is a really good grocery store, but their meats look a little suspect/overpriced to me. Also, the checkers at this location have probably the worst manners of any grocery checkers EVER. I hope they are college students, or there is no excuse whatsoever for their behavior, which is either very chatty with each other to the point of ignoring the customer, or grilling you intently on your favorite part of an obscure book etc. This QFC does have a great selection of deli, bakery and produce, wine and beer, dairy - basically everything except meat. And honestly the meat might be good too, but there is something about the meat section there that gives me the creeps. I'm probably just being strange. This location also has what seems to be a very large Kosher section and Kosher choices in several departments. I can't really speak to the quality of their Kosher goods since I am not Jewish, but if you are looking for Kosher stuff, this might be a good place? At least visually it looks that way. read more

I love this QFC. It's not my go-to store as it's a bit further, but the upgrades of the store (I hadn't been in a couple of years) are awesome. There is a great selection of pretty much almost anything, fresh bread, fresh prepared meals, wine/liquor, meats, veggies, everything you could ask for in a grocery store and it's very clean. What sets this location apart from others is the SERVICE. I had asked someone in the wine/liquor section if they carried those individual shots of liquor. I needed just a bit of rum to make a bread pudding. I didn't realize they had a QFC liquor store next door where the old university one used to be. The guy actually ran over next door and returned w/ a single shot of rum (he could've just told me to go next door). How nice was that? read more

Could this place be any more out of control. It is almost always busy even at 1am. They do have a great selection of produce, meats, and cheeses though as well as a lot of great specialty items read more

Its fresh...and its big. This QFC rocks, when were down in this part of town, we always seem to stop by. I love the meat selection, the seafood always looks good, and the bakery area..well its just wrong on how many items looks so good, and fattening. The workers there seem to like there jobs, always helpful and with a smile on there faces. I dont mind paying abit more, for the quality here. Of course it helps that its location is pretty cool, the with all the shops nearby. Only drawback is getting in and out of there..seems to be 25 stops signs, and numerous speed bumps before you hit there parking lot. read more

As far as grocery stores are concerned, the QFC in the U Village is as good as it gets. It has the biggest selection of products I have ever seen in a grocery store: ranging from the ultra-green, organic, over-priced items to the inexpensive Kroger brand items. My favorite section has to be the specialty beer aisle. It is one of the few places that has my personal favorite on sale, Supergoose IPA from Hale's Ales. I don't really see how someone can rate this store anything less than a 5 star. Maybe unless you have an anxiety disorder and don't like to be around people? This store is usually pretty busy all time, even outside of the usual peak hours. The only other thing I can think of that might lower some people's opinion of this store is the parking situation. Since it's located in the boutique-y University Village, parking can sometimes be a hassle. I always find ample parking on the side of the building opposite of 45th though. I live in Greenlake and the QFC on Roosevelt just doesn't even come close to this store. If I need something quick I'll walk to it, but for my bi-weekly mass purchase, I always go to the village. read more

I loved this store. Its brightly lit, clean, and the attendants who helped me where mostly very helpful. I bussed out here from my home downtown for one thing, Kosher meat. I left with three bags of groceries full of things I love. I marked it down because of two things: I had to bag my own groceries ((Never had that experience at any other QFC)) and the price for common things is a bit high. The redeeming quality though was the butcher! I grilled him on the kosher meat selection and package labeling to insure what I was purchasing was safe. He was unoffended and answered all of my questions. He even pointed out for me the special place where they butcher the kosher products. I was pleased. read more

Best QFC in the world! I've been to this QFC so many times over the years in my visits to Seattle. It was exciting when I moved to Portland and found out PDX had QFC too. This one is the best though. Clean, huge, Redbox, big wine/beer selection. Parking is kind of a pain, since it's U Village. But everything else is perfect. And they have Top Pot donuts in their bakery! read more

The grocery store was really good and had lots of selections to choose from. It had a very overpriced Einstein Bagels and there was a worker in the bagel shop who was incredibly rude. He spoke quietly, had a rude expression and stupidly chose to put onion and French toast bagels in the same bag!! read more

OK, here is the thing; QFC is basically trying to imitate Whole Foods! The difference is the mentality! They're pretending to be a gourmet food store with a Ralph's or Costco philosophy and customer service.. That's why it just doesn't fit well.. It's also way overpriced! I'm a super easy going customer and don't like making things bigger than they actually are.. But, their deli needs serious improvement.. Yes, they have the fancy cheeses and all that, but the way the deli lady prepared a sandwich was seriously very Taco-Bell like! The bread wasn't fresh, turkey looked like it's been there for a while and she literally stacked all of the things I ordered on top of each other and said with a big fake smile on her face "Now you have a big sandwich hahaha!!" Maybe all this was just an one-time thing, but I can kind of sense who is faking it and who is real... Go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods for god's sake! :) read more

I don't know when grocery stores decided that they should be the one-stop-for-everything place for busy people, but this QFC definitly exemplifies this. The store itself has a full deli and baker, a sushi bar, a florist, a salad bar and pharmacy. There's also a coffee shop (to... take a break from the grocery shopping?), a Noah's Bagels and a place to throw your kids while you shop. As this is the closest grocery store to me, I shop here a lot, and I've generally been happy with what I've found. While I realize that prices are higher than those at the Safeway (right behind, for those keeping track), I think the quality and cleanliness generally justifies the difference in price. However, when I'm feeling particularly price conscious, I will only buy produce and meat at QFC. In these departments in particular, the employees have been very helpful and receptive to questions. Avoid: Sunday afternoons, Weekday nights right after work, and the sushi bar - why would you buy grocery store sushi anyways? Bathroom: 5 stars. I only use grocery store bathrooms when I abso-totally-lutly have to, so that means I remember nothing of it except that I was happy it was there. In the left back corner of the store. read more

This QFC is pretty big and recently remodeled so it has that kinda shiny thing going for it. I shop here a lot since it is close to my office but I sometimes get a little sticker shock. It's fine when you find sales but things tend to be a little pricier (50 cents here, $1 there) and it can really add up if you're buying lots of groceries. But they have pretty good selection all around (meats, cheese, breads, produce, dairy, etc.) and they have a bulk food section which my local branch (LQA) does not. Do not try to park here during peak hours (read: not early morning or late evening). It is extra frustrating since the UVillage morons put ALL the handicap spots for the lot right next to the Northern QFC entrance...ugh. So there are tons empty spots that you can't use read more

It isn't very often that one gets so excited about a grocery store that they would give it 5 stars and rave about it in a review. I would guess it isn't all that often that someone is desperately scouring the web for a review on grocery store either, but. . . Overall, QFC is a great store. Owned by Kroger Co., there are certain things that you might expect and you will likely get them all here, but there were also a couple of things that I didn't expect. First, their entire beer/wine section is notably cooled. This is great because it allows you to purchase red wine that is already at an appropriate serving temperature (Most places store their red wine at room temperature). They also maintain a very varied and large beer selection. Another thing that impressed me was that on a busy Saturday morning they were giving out free samples - something I didn't see very often at Smith's (their 'sister store). The downside to this particular QFC is that as a part of the UVillage they are ALWAYS crowded. This means that parking is sometimes challenging and you will have to wait in line if you want a person to check you out. You can always go the route of the self-check out that grocery stores, in particular, have become so fond of. While I don't love the self-check out, at least they have a bunch of stations so it moves really quickly. Overall, a great store, and by far a better option than the others in the immediate vicinity (Safeway, Metropolitan Market). read more

I have been to this location 5+ times in the last week for work. ALL of the checkers are so slow it does not even seem they know what they are doing. Considering how busy this store always is, one would think they would hire faster baggers and checkers and have enough for their demand. I cannot stand going to this store. read more

This QFC was meant to be the flagship QFC for Seattle... and it shows. First, the space is ginormous. Second, they've got a bunch of little "storettes" within the QFC: Bank of America, Noah's Bagels, Seattle's Best Coffee, and maybe a few more. Third, they've got extras: childcare for shoppers, a flower section, a HUGE wine section, a little sushi takeout stand, and even a freaking OLIVE bar, so you can choose exactly how many of each kind of fancy olive you want to buy. Fourth, they're open 24/7 (and they're the only thing in U Village that is!) Their deli has great selection of meats and cheeses, but I've found their prepared dishes in the cold case to be unexciting and not as consistently quality as the ones at PCC. I also like that they have 4 self-checkout stations - it can really speed up the grocery-fetching process for me. Not as cheap as Safeway, not as expensive as Metropolitan Market or Whole Foods. read more

I am in awe of this place. I went here today for the first time. I just moved to Seattle so I had to stock up on the basics. And now I know what my regular grocery store will be! The thing that really clinched it for me was the do-it-yourself bread slicer in the bakery section. A bread slicer! Awesome! I love buying the schmancy boule-type loaves, but if I try to slice them at home, I end up with uneven, thick wedges that are no good for sandwiches or toast. So this is awesome. Sort of seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen, but I will enjoy it until then. The produce is amazing as well, and seemed well-priced. I didn't really explore the deli section, but it is enormous, and they have brown rice sushi. I'm taking off one star because some of the items were bizarrely overpriced - for instance, there was no pasta under $2/package. But I did just move to Seattle, so maybe those prices are actually standard. read more

Although this store was lacking some of the items I sought when I went there, it seemed to have an impressive range of groceries and products. Also, the interior of the store is noticeably attractive, which I appreciated given that, in North Carolina (where I reside), only the more expensive grocery stores (in addition, of course, to Trader Joe's) seem to care about interior aesthetics. A random note: QFC brand water bottles are filled to the very top. This increases value for money. However, if one attempts to open a bottle while driving, one will spill the water all over oneself. I went to the qfc in U Village w/ my boyfriend to get a few things to have some curry and a nice night in. We thought, oh maybe let's pick up some nice beer! I say no. He hovers right next to me awkwardly. Literally not even a foot away from me. Then he continues to linger behind us scanning various products that don't make any sense for about 10-15 minutes. I caught on video him looking over at us to check if we were stealing.
